irishman brendan gregory aka chymera has become an integral part of the international club scene. this techno and house productions are based on his skilful way to incorporate different styles and genres such as minimal techno and even the trance, which leads to a very own and surpreme handwriting. like his mentor and friend funk dvoid or like his fellow cocoon recordings colleague tim green, chymera appears to one of the few artists who can be assigned to a very own and recognizable sound.

new emmanuel top label. lost in berlin is a mechanical angry monster with multiple arms that swings around for destruction. it’s unstoppable for words, you have to accept the fact that you have been hit by a concrete wall. what i love in records is the menace inside it that builds up. the impossible energy that drags you in to this tunnel of a white dimension with grey electric colors. bipolaire: it all starts with a kick, not a simple kick but a et kick and before you know it you are struck by lightning. the subs are playing with you, simple but again with atomic temperature. the acid sound that hits you is never going to surrender his inferior temper. capture: only that words remind me of the spirit capture and it’s not easy make an equivalent of the original that is not even made with the inspiration of the mod wheel. it’s not just a wicked intro that can take you to different roads. you can decide what way you will take but be careful with what comes next.

the ep originally released on raster-noton in 2001, it never been released on vinyl till now. and finally available again briefly on japanese label flau s raum series. new pressing now available on clear vinyl. open close open, the title of robert lippok s release, can obviously be seen in the context of daily maxims: instructions you can find on packagings, household appliances, stereo systems and other operating instructions. neverthelesss, open close open also stands in connection with making things like space and perception accessible to yourself - and therefore with the opening of a fictious memory. on this release, analogue field recordings, digital remains and cultural fragments are condensed into an accoustic space. the call of crows and door slamming noises meet looped sound pieces from a minidisc recorder and samples from a mahler symphony.

known for his more elegant and subtle atmospheric techno music though, conforce is never afraid of deviating from his safe zone. sometimes a change of environment can bring new musical influences and shine new light on existing musical projects. there is a small narrative about this release. what happens when you place an island boy in an multicultural harbour metropolitan city? stuff might get a little bit more rough edged from time to time. a transition from the serene tranquility of the islandic coasts to the impatient impulsiveness rush of the metropolitan city. narrative collapse ep contains music created though more impulsive machine jamming. be ready to get a fix of rotterdams real danger. play loud!

“ode to eskapism” is dedicated to all of those that use techno as a way in to escapism. to those that use techno as a mental diversion from the perceived unpleasant, boring, arduous, scary, or banal aspects of daily life. those that cannot subsist on the scanty satisfaction they can extort from reality alone. those that feel the need to dissociate from reality in order to experience it. to all of those that emerges recreated, stronger and full of life after a weekend escape into techno. the label bond is the brainchild of swedish techno dj and producer petter b. the concept of the label is “music by djs for djs”. the label focuses on releasing tracks that enable the dj, rather than the producer, to be creative. it is based on that special bond which is created every time a dj combines tracks, loops and sounds live into something new and unique.

end of dayz 009 is by the mysterious 30drop. his works are described by himself as detroit techno inspired music mixed with repetitive european techno. in this release -on the next day ep- we find on a side the terror history called -they saw it again- and the jeroen search remix that is a very danceable rhythmic techno with some cosmic stuff. the b side is for -raw- where we can listen to some space bells. here is the remix by an old friend of this label, p.e.a.r.l., bringing the track into a darker place.

following on from last years exceptional ‘obsession ep’ from art crime is a budding young talent by the name of will lister. originally from lyme regis, will moved up to london to attend goldsmiths university and in his spare time he helps us out behind the counter here at the shop. when he’s not here at the shop you can also hear him playing records on his balamii radio show or his monthly club night, ‘the aten’. ‘the phantom ep’ is his production debut and we’re extremely happy to be putting it out on our main imprint. the title track opens up the ep with heavily reverbed pads, echoed claps, crunchy percussion and repetitive synth stabs that all work together to create spaced-out atmosphere that’s full of twist and turns. flipping over to the b-side, ‘after the light’ picks up the pace with a driving high-hat rhythm and full-bodied kicks that underpin warm piano keys and smooth synth lines. ‘agency’ closes proceedings by turning up the intensity to full with a masterclass in building tension.

originally recorded at estúdios da somil between september 1973 and october 1974. a handful heavyweight brazilian musicians have been working together on this album, orlandivo, hermes & zé roberto to name a few, we think you can definitely hear their influence in a positive way.

another fine reissue of a chicago classic from jeff craven and his large music imprint focusing again on the dynamic artistic team of black ice productions. first released in 1992 on velvet city records, the black ice ep treads more into a deeper and jazzier vibes than their other outings at that time (such as the union camp release). a few listens and one can easily recognize the influence that all four tracks had on future labels and artists throughout the mid and late 1990 s. this is timeless, pioneering chicago deep house at its finest and a must have for all collectors.

our latest looking for mushrooms ep comes to us from a collaboration between long time dirt crew resident tigerskin and gifted jazz pianist and composer grambow. we first heard from grambow when his fluid key stylings featured on tigerskins faint in 2015. the title track is a suspenseful and moody journey, lead by live double bass from feature artist das eb. building in intensity with tigerskins warm production and steady percussive instrumentation until grambows live lead on a gritty synth growls in over the top. a true modern electronic classic as far as we are concernred. tsukiji is a playful deep house groover. balmy tuned percussion and shaken highs roll along under the light hearted piano which cruises along throughout the whole tropically touched endeavour. this track has party written all over it! octocat is a tougher italo disco tainted work out, tightly programmed live and analogue percussive elements push along, while wailing keys lick over a tenacious grunting bass. you can really taste and feel the long studio sessions the guys had to compose this great track. it is so much more than generic dance music. red fox is a divine culmination of the pairs compositional prowess and dance music knowhow. a cinematic and spirited house track that glides and glistens via delicate piano, plucky percussive riffs, bright strings and woodwinds. we are very honoured to release this outstanding musical release by tigerskin and grambow.

disco halal s first reissue! the 1984 cult classic - tcp (aka tony carey project) - tcp sees its re-release on vinyl for the first time, the long sought and super expensive vinyl on the classic label x records, tcp is the extraction of the multi talented ex keyboard player of rainbow that in future days will be known as , tcp, yellow power, planet p, and more outstanding projects. tcp could be easily compared to the works of sakamoto, hosono, and many other of the periodical soundtrack movement of the early 80 s, but no doubt this is a pioneering record, which set grounds to the electronic music we know today. we are very proud to bring this hidden gem, so that it can once again be shared and enjoyed

jetzt auch endlich auf vinyl! 77 rusty trombones- ist das letzte studioalbum des im januar diesen jahres verstorbenen musikers, rappers, songwriters und produzenten blowfly! der aus miami operierende clarence reid aka blowfly konnte auf eine über 50-jährige karriere zurückblicken und gilt für viele soul-/funk- und vor allem hip hop-künstler als wichtige inspiration. in den 60er und 70er jahren arbeitete reid als produzent und songwriter für u.a. betty wright, sam & dave, gwen mccrae, bobby byrd und kc and the sunshine band. 1971 erschien sein erstes album unter dem pseudonym blowfly. das album the weird world of blowfly zeigt reid als maskierten superhelden auf dem cover, und er nahm anschließend weitere alben unter dem alter ego blowfly auf. seine dirty lyrics waren bereits in den 70er jahren ihrer zeit weit voraus, und sein track rapp dirty (auch bekannt als blowfly s rap) verhalf dem album blowfly s party 1980 sogar zu einer chartplatzierung in den usa. seine songs wurden von hip hop- und r&b-künstlern, darunter größen wie wu tang clan, dj shadow, eazy-e, method man & redman, rjd2, jurassic 5, beyonce, brand nubian oder mary j blidge, gesampelt. künstler wie ice-t, red hot chili peppers, flying lotus, run the jewels, dj quik bis hin zu den Ärzten zollten blowfly respekt. r.i.p. blowfly!

baldos next ep is released on good ratio music, the label run by himself and his buddy carlo. as far as we remember the barcelona based producer had always an affinity for dirty drum-machines rhythms and buzzing analog sounds. baldo can be recognised by his choice of style, a fierce and confident house, pure in intent and effective in execution. and this is exactly what you should expect in this new ep. for the eighth instalment of the label they have the remix coming directly from nyc. the boss of lets play house, jacques renault has remixed the change, giving to the track a whole different mind to the track and making a round ep, ready to roll this summer.

this record can easily be classified as library and will probably find a spot on the shelf with viberts nuggets, the strange world of bernard fevre and carpenters assault on precinct 13. listening to these tracks moves your senses back and forth through time, from 80s sci-fi back to raymond scotts early 50s experiments. the perfect soundtrack for bedrooms, late night dinners and greenhouses ed dmx contributes to a tradition in musical history, a richly vivid trail in which composers influence each others harmonies and ways of writing tunes, like an endless ping-pong game between minds and individuals but at the same time between continents and places throughout the world.

quite a few months have passed since adam port released his last original material on keinemusik. it’s been almost too long. but then again, every expert will confirm, you won’t see a “sonnenfinsternis” every other week. port’s new ep is going under the name of that very astronomical curiosity and accordingly, the like-titled cut on a can only be the result of a rare cosmic constellation. it starts with a spoken word field recording. could it be, someone secretly recorded parts of the internal pre-release labelmeeting? we’ll leave that to your imagination. but then, all solid facts. a forceful beat, decorated with hihat-hiss, stoically pounding synthbass, rattling snare-staccato and space-opening synth-layers. finally, some siren’s wailing, just in case someone didn’t get the immediacy of this material. classy floor substance, that is, with the scarcity value of an eclipse. “working for it”, as the first track on the flipside, is rather going for the deeper realms. this coproduction with jennifer touch, a singer/producer that just moved from leipzig to berlin, is built up on a cosy, warm synth-priming, that touch congenially contrasts with her undercooled wavy vocals. an emotional rollercoaster, if you will.
