rodhad’s debut album ‘anxious’ sees the artist step away from the dancefloor and further develop the narrative qualities of his beautiful soundscapes. it was the natural next step to present the sound he began cultivating with his recent eps “kinder der ringwelt” and “söhne der erde” as a full length lp. the experience the album is trying to convey is being thrown into a world that is ready to crush you.they have you with your back to the wall. and you are ready to give way to despair. will you be able fight back? how is it even possible? rodhad is the spearhead of a new generation of techno producers and djs. with his bass heavy grooves and dubby atmospheric soundscapes he is a sonic guide. knowing exactly where he wants to take the crowd. leading through the inexhaustible sounds of techno music in all its beauty and gloom. he fully immerses himself into the music. yet never loses himself. growing up in berlin’s rougher outskirts. as a teenager he was able to grasp the final flashings of berlin’s mythical nightlife of the 1990s at legendary places casino and ostgut. in the late 2000s the dystopian crew began their own series of parties and then the label with two seminal releases by rodhad. “1984” and “blindness”.

aaaron joins forces with newcomers deckert and singer valentine to unveil the new title track for connected. the three combine all the talents of each individual to create something really special. while aaaron provides a sub heavy african inspired groove pattern and combines it with deckert’s intense harmonies. valentine finishes off the track with her touching voice performance and lyrics that are both melancholic and deep. wether you listen to it on your odyssey through the night or while watching the sun rise again: if you had to choose a hymn for your last night on this planet. ‘l.d.o.e.’ might be your future pick. floyd soaks up everything that was happy. bright and ancestral and pushes it straight into the void twisting it into a hypnotic techno chant where leftovers leave nothing but ashes behind. perfect for a rough peaktime approach or the early morning hours when the storm is hitting the coast. this track is a predator and will haunt you in your dreams through an endless jungle of insanity.

tidy line-up including randomer. gilbr. voiski and tolouse low trax. tip! in terms of experimental. techno. very few come close to the impact that this uk producer has had on the scene. with a sound that is rarely classifiable. randomer’s dekmantel contribution is a staggered. minimally-twisted. dark. kind-of-two step. awesome thing. versatile records’ gilb’r has found himself an integral part of the dutch scene since moving to amsterdam. and brings forth his organic. percussive grooves that have helped define his music. and label to date. salon des amateurs’ tolouse low trax provides a seasoned session of amniotic. grizzled. hypnotic post-everything music. that is eerily discomforting and wonderfully pleasurable at the same time. and on the ep’s fourth track. parisian techno wizard. voiski adds layered organic. futuristic loops that work to stale the progress of time. and space.
the complete twr72 - lucid release wasn’t enough so it gets a remix treatment by psyk. henning baer. rod. neznan and twr72 itself.
psyk kicks off with a tom based space out remix of lucid. heavy soundscapes and pads are layered over the fine rhythm of toms. henning baer takes care of aporia with a weird metal loop kinda vibe and a straight forward beat rhythm to keep the speed.
twr72 gave colloquial a groovy treatment. with minimal. filtered and slightly oldskool elements they changed the original parts into a little killer. talking about minimal. on the flipside rod delivers greatness on lucid with his cut and slide technique. neznan closes the ep in style. because his style is impeccable. when you thought you’ve heard it all. neznan jumps in. an experimental take on erudite is what you get. and like always. there are hidden messages in his music.

xixa balance ep (apa002) abstract places audio elusive producer xixa delivers the second abstract places audio release. balance is a three-track ep where the co-founder of the label packs a solid techno sound drowned in complex and evolving atmospheres. as first label’s release (clip - gebre. 2016). this is not a 100% club record. we can hear ambient and idm influences. but a1 and b1 are perfect tracks to keep a techno set full of rhythm and tension. and will get its place on any dj record bag. a1 balance is built around a distorted but controlled techno beat. patiently. a wide palette of drones and other-worldly artefacts are growing next to carefully crafted percussive sounds. 1984 opens the b side of the 12”. with a 4 to the floor overdriven bass drum and a reverse reverb announcing its main synth sequence. accompanied by organic hi-hats and clap sounds. a collection of ethereal drones and noises is also used. giving the track a sense of cohesion and gluing its different parts. life inside a snow ball is xixa s personal take on ambient. some of the drones and artefacts from a1 are now mixed with new quasi- harmonic emotional textures and subtle noises emerging from a deep unknown space and forming a complete new sonic experience. balance ep is a very solid second release by abstract places audio that confirms the label sound and philosophy.

new 030303 release. john heckle s first one for 030303 starts off deliciously with translate- being a moody and melodic and bouncer that caters to a twisted dance floor. terix. the opener on the b-side is a beautiful reminder of derrick mays detroit. rhythm is rhythms kao-tic harmony in particular. the end of this record then. is like the end of most nights: with lots of melodies going on and a stomping rhythm hear me is by far the most mind bending track of this excellent 12inch.

decadent yet depraved. the debut album by belief defect. finds shelter and complicity in raster as home and label. familiar with the underground music scene and how its skeptical nature can also be an obstacle to overcome. belief defect abandon any claim or credit in an attempt to transcend the limits authorship imposes. avoid the boundaries or expectations earned or self imposed and find the clearest. most direct path to their music for themselves and the listener. at the core of the album is the music that inspired them. the conclusion of countless recordings listened to in their formative years that ultimately result in a life-long devotion to electronic music: from dance floor to primal anger and self-annihilating noise. to transcendental. ambient escapism and intense self-reflexive sonic layering. the result is a soundtrack for this apocalyptic time. an uncompromising reflection on the state of mankind and its uncertain future underscored by a sense of religious and secular demise referenced in track titles. samples. and soundscapes scattered throughout the album. yet. more than a political statement decadent yet depraved is an introspective journey. turning each listener into a spiritual soul-seeker staring into the abyss. reaching for some kind of cathartic truthfulness.

it is wise to take time and effort to organize the experiment properly to ensure that the right type of data. and enough of it. is available to answer the questions of interest as clearly and efficiently as possible. an experiment deliberately imposes a treatment on a group of objects or subjects in the interest of observing the response. a control group is used as a baseline measure. the control group is identical to all other items or subjects that you are examining with the exception that it does not receive the treatment or the experimental manipulation that the treatment group receives. an experiment that yields clear and systematic differences among the results of the test takers is biased. treatment vs control by deepak sharma uses extended tracks. story-telling techno to elicit a unique response through direct brute force and indirect dramatic soundscapes.
