celebrating 10 years as a label, rekids founder radio slave delivers a mesmerizing production with a remix from ostgut ton’s marcel dettmann. since its birth in 2006 matt edwards’ rekids has played host to some of today’s most renowned names in house and techno, including the likes of nina kraviz, roman flü,,,gel, shed and mr. g. with releases on the likes of r&s and running back, radio slave is one of the world’s finest producers, whose dance-floor focused cuts earned him the title of resident advisor’s most charted artist of 2015.
radio slave’s ‘vision’ is a dusky number possessing popping kicks and ebbing pads that meander forward as a murky voice proclaims the track title. meanwhile, marcel dettmann’s remix distorts the original whilst emphasising the low-end to give it a dark and ominous aesthetic.

COUNTRY BOY GOES DUB (MARCEL DETTMANN REMIX) (COLOURED VINYL)
coloured 12" Vinyl UK21.01.15
carl craig needs no introduction, he has been at the forefront of the international techno scene for over 20 years and has amassed a truly enviable back catalog of releases utilizing various pseudonyms and collaborating with many different artists during his stellar career. one of the detroit natives most enduring and popular guises has been his paperclip people project which has been active since 1991. country boy goes dub was originally released in 1996 on the seminal paperclip people long-player the secret tapes of dr.eich. its blend of samples, metallic drum machines, 808s, guitar loops and serious dubwise tendencies made it stand out instantly. as with a lot of craigs legendary productions it had that otherworldly swing, an incessant groove and a melding of various styles, sounds and influences informing its spirit.

EARLY MORNING LIGHTS (MARCEL DETTMANN RMX) (COLOURED VINYL, REPRESS)
12" Vinyl UK07.10.11
limited 2011 repress, coloured vinyl
the first release on sighas own our circula sound imprint sees the hotflush artist shrug off the dubstep tag altogether with a 12 inch of dark dubbed out techno. marcel dettmanns remix of sighas own >early morning lights< sits on the a side. taking things deeper than one would typically expect, dettmann marries his own sound palette with that of the original perfectly. clocking in around the 130bpm mark, its mutating broken rhythms and throbbing bottom end will appeal to more adventurous dubstep heads as well as the techno purists. sighas eyes down old school tinged >over the edge< sits on the b side. clicks, claps and 909 hats roll over a layer of shifting dubbed out soundscapes and booming square bass.
one of the founding members of the ostgut ton family, marcel dettmann recorded his debut 12inch for the label alongside ben klock with >dawning< some five years ago. now after a string of highly praised releases, his debut album >dettmann<, and a handful of uncompromising records on his own mdr label, we arrive at this new ep for his home label. launching us into the space-race, >barrier< documents those tense moments of discovery as we reach into new territories. dettmanns unique textured sound design sets the scene before diving into >translation one< - a frantic, quivering and snaking snapshot into the kind of techno the producer stands for these days. metallic bass spins sideways, while ever-modulating percussion drives forward. the sinister sci-fi tones of >translation two< warble and jive in glorious syncopation as a systematic heavy kick and hat program works the bass frequencies and rhythmic zones. open and spacious, its meandering theme hangs deliciously between paranoia and positivity. in >planning< dettmann further explores his inclination for intricate, tripping synth patterns. a staggered, wonderfully immersive theme builds from delayed staccato notes in a classic analog sequence, underpinned by rumbling dub bass pressure
electric deluxe is proud to present the new terence fixmer ep le terrible. and as the name already suggests this ep is up for some serious damage. a side kicks off with le terrible a dynamic and powerful monster of a techno track which pumps up your adrenaline with its pounding bass drum and hypnotic built ups. gut feeling! b1: concept c is a strong track in which terence fixmer works his production magic with more experimental elements such as drone sounds and his ragged and slightly distorted signature bass. nonetheless creating a high energy level tune ready to be unleashed on the dancefloor. b2: last with the vinyl version dance like paranoid (marcel dettmann remix). marcel dettmanns remix wins you over by its carefully arranged melody and drum pattern which creates a melancholic and timeless rave anthem. bliss!
