after this years releases on mule electronic and smallville lawrence is back on coowned laid imprint with a real house music series- never as always. as a favorite in carsten josts cd-r box the main title rise seemed to be one of the magic deephouse tunes wether it was at the dial allnighter residency panorama bar, the laid nights at cookies berlin or some fancy hangout at the labelchiefs appartment. now for the first time only on vinyl never as always (pt.1) comes up with two dub versions by sten who hasnt shown up since ages.

clement meyer now joins correspondant, and with a nod to his parisian roots he enters our label with techno to be reckoned with. just listen to the first half of >sweet insanity<, and you will begin to appreciate his dark style as much as we do. abe duque, who we have invited to remix >sweet insanity< has been at the head of the acid-house and underground-techno table since his earliest releases way back in 1993. from muscular and melodic techno to cocktail jazz and ambient interludes, his early tracks on his own labels tension and hollis haus included releases under pseudonyms like kirilan and super secret symphony, plus his releases on others labels like disko b, rapture!, morbid, and tresor captured a particular period of clubbing history. the second part of duque s career was a run of increasingly massive 12 inch hits like champagne days, cocaine nights, acid, disco nights, and in 2004 his monster smash with blake baxter >what happened?<. his signature is now stamped across productions from top acts like chemical brothers, pet shop boys, and miss kitten, and has become a regular on dj hells gigolo label. the highlight of this period, though, was his first album >so underground it hurts<. it was undeniably a techno event, and that is exactly what he comes with today, a mind bending techno remix of >sweet insanity<. we hope you like it!

already played by sven väth, seth troxler. joris voorn, tiefschwarz, reboot... the london resident ross evana already excelled as dj at pacha nyc, at ministry of sound london or in the we love space series in ibiza. his track >thrilla in manila< first takes its time to build up before it sets a tremendously powerful exclamation mark on the dancefloor with its tropical-hypnotic percussions. with its second track, the ninth edition of cocoons 10 inch -series leads us to the land of the midnight sun. the two stockholm-born cousins alex caytas and aleks patz have started their musical collaboration only in 2007 but can already look back on a hand full of very good produced releases for the stuttgart-based label parquet recordings and the italian label caremella, as well as on remixes for martin dawson/king roc and voltique. >blue sea< shows the duos affinity to the energetic deep house techno of the nineties: with its organ sound, blues vocals and a highly infectous bass line, this track could almost pass as a modern and uncluttered version of st. germain, being predestined for warm summer nights. this is how techno sounds in 2011.

after the last release for ec and paul ritchs quartz label, michel de hey and m.i.r.k.o. are back on hey! joining the forces are none less than rodriguez jr and juan sanchez. after a great summer for michel with his hey! events in clubs, beaches and festivals, it was time to deliver that vibe to the label again. with this new ep that mission is easily accomplished. the original tracks are typical for michel, tough but funky and made for the dancefloor. all tracks have proven their value at numerous nights, with >give me a light< as an anthem for (the now closed) catwalk in rotterdam, whilst the original version of >waiting and waiting< has proven to be a great closer to his festival sets.

one of vahagns best friends (tiago from dfa, clearmont 56, golf channel, etc), has a residency at lisbons top club lux called trust. after attending one of these trust nights, this lisbon-based armenian musician arrived in his studio right after the club night and wrote the original material for this record in the course of a few hours. the result was so special, that soon groovement had it signed upon hearing, and contacted tiago to be the remixer for the track dedicated to him. a record with a story like this is bound to be good!

arne weinberg delivers a very personal record allowing the listener to enter his emotional world. the title track >chrome< is a dark and sinister piece of deep techno full of nocturnal sounds and textures, driven by a pulsating bassdrum and rolling snares. one of the darkest tracks he has ever written.
