DO YOU FEEL THE SAME? (TODD TERRY & 6TH BOROUGH PROJECT REMIXES)
12" Vinyl UK17.12.14
do you feel the same by hercules &love affair is easily one of the biggest dancefloor tracks of 2014, the powerful vocal and catchiness made it an anthem in its own right. now with re-works from one of the most celebrated figures in dance music todd terry and talented duo 6th borough project the record has been taken in different, but equally dynami,c directions. todd terrys remix keeps the uplifting dance quality of the track whilst adding his signature style of house that was instrumental in creating the deep/progressive house we listen to today. the dub takes the focus away from the vocal and has more of an underground and tech sound. 6thborough project often explore long forgotten funk and disco dubs, and with their remix of the track they manage to keep the disco sound of hercules &love affairs original track, even with the bpms dropped down to something far more mellow than the original.
6th borough project are all set to release the follow up to their 2011 debut lp one night in the borough at the start of march. a hectic couple of years have been lived out by graeme clark and craig smith during the making of their borough 2 borough lp with graeme continuing to play week in and week out as revenge and setting up his new imprint roar groove whilst craig has established the brilliant fifty fathoms deep label. studio time has been tight to say the least but that hasnt stopped the duo from pulling out all the stops and ensuring that this lp surpasses the already sky-high benchmark set by its predecessor
6th borough project make a welcome return to d.o.g following last years mighty debut lp one night in the borough. craig smith and graeme ?revenge clark have been steadily gaining a rock-solid reputation for both their quality productions as well as their dj sets, taking them everywhere from the legendary subclub.

just over a year ago, in july 2011, harmless records released their first installment in their new mixology series, releasing mixology-the definitive salsoul mixes. this triple album featured thirty-one tracks from discos premier label, salsoul. now the mixology series will return on 20th august 2012, with harmless records turning their attention to another of disco’s most important labels sam records.
if you have been following graeme clark in his solo disguise as the revenge or the stream of 6th borough project 12-inches leading up to this one, you should know what to expect here—deep, blissfully hypnotic sampledelia with track flows governed by the laws of extreme repetition. its a shame that trance means a particular subgenre of electronic music, because that term applies just as much to the effects of these tracks as anything tiësto has ever played.
given the space, clark and craig smith are able to utilize this formula over a broad musical spectrum, creating music in the full-fledged sense, one that traces a landscape of tempos, styles and emotions and a menagerie of resurrected sounds conjures up images of dusty record shops and tattered vinyl, musical spirits captured on wax. awesome!
mysterious white label dubs of an as yet unidentified artist by the omnipotent 6th borough project. three versions to choose from ranging from the mid tempo a side through to the peak time house dub and back down to the aptly named udder dub
6th borough project make a welcome return to delusions of grandeur to deliver their debut lp entitled one night in the borough. here we have the final single in the series of 3 including four brand new full-length cuts from the album.

6th borough project make a welcome return to delusions of grandeur to deliver their debut lp entitled one night in the borough. as well as a cd the album is being released as 3 individual singles plus a limited edition triple coloured vinyl pack. here we have the first single in the series of 3 including four brand new full-length cuts from the album. find a way kicks things off and sees the guys deliver what we know as classic 6th borough material ie. precision cut, edity disco and soul but heavied up with a fat kick and an arrangement which screams out for peaktime plays. iznae hits next with a brilliant wobbling bassline that brings a warehouse feel to proceedings before the groove drops into an unexpected breakbeat section that harvey mason himself would be proud of. if its loopy downtempo house you re into then look no further than if the feelings right. layers of loops build and drop, filtering in and out whilst grooving steadily along at a sublime 88bpm. finally, changin goes on a classic deep house mission with soft stabs and synth riffs supplying the interest while a rolling beat propels things along in an understated yet powerful way.
hoola is the new single taken from archie bronson outfits recent album, coconut. hoola will be available on two remix 12inchs with exclusive mixes from moscow, house of david, motor city drum ensemble, and 6th borough projects two versions of the album track chunk. coconut, archie bronson outfits third album, is a record full of deep riffs, spaced loops and the sound of a band revelling in both their individuality and intensity. coconut is a record of barely contained ambition and ecstatic overload. the album was produced by tim goldsworthy (lcd soundsystem, the rapture, hercules & love affair) and the result is a wildness of musical vision, given the freedom to be let absolutely loose.
more ruff jamz from the 6th borough project bunker kicking off with the supa-dupa-slo-mo-soul cut, >slow down baby<, with chopped up strings and heroin-house bassline all present. the flip brings us >closer< to the edit and pitches us nearer the holy grail of tempos. >stratus quo< gives us tracky rhodes action on the intro and sends us a message in the music. number five is alive.
this 12 inch sampler includes three exclusive tracks taken from the cd compilation >if this is house i want my money back< (permvac 046-2). first we have hunee, one of berlins finest, a top man and dj, and now also producer. his first 12 inch release, just out on feel music, is a burner, and >standin high< is no exception. walter jones track >i am loved< starts the uptempo part of the compilation with a monster modulated bass line and some blissful dreamy vocals. also worth checking is his fantastic recent release on dfa records. side b features a fantastic groove machine from one of the biggest acts in the disco/house sector in uk at the moment - 6th borough project, the project from craig smith and remix man of the moment the revenge
having become a firm favourite of some of the best djs on the planet, delusions makes a welcome return with dog05 from the mighty 6th borough project. these guys can seemingly do no wrong at the moment putting out huge release after huge release on their instruments of rapture label as well as numerous remixes, edits and original productions on the likes of jisco music, phonica, deep freeze and delusions. how can i show you is a masterclass in slo-mo looped up deep disco house that will appeal to fans of mark e and of course the revenge. a hypnotic and grinding groove is what this little number is all about so play it loud and keep it slow. on the flip side we have soultourist (from our fave house label drumpoet) remixing miss world into a deep and driving filtered throbber with all the warmth and soul youd expect from these swiss master craftsmen. on aa2 youll find the ooft! remix of miss world going in a slightly darker, electronic direction introducing dubbed out synth stabs and a subsonic bottom end thatll warm your cockles
the second release from the revenges strictly limited label imprint instruments of rapture brings 6th borough project back to cement their edit credentials. clocking in at 98bpm, do it to the max is some heavyweight, slo mo, sleaze funk, which seems set to trouble the bassbins and double the dancefloor. the flip sees the long awaited vinyl release of their soaring disco diamond, just a memory which was previously only available on 6th borough projects ultra rare l.e.s.s. productions cd promo. the finale takes the revenge back to revisit 6th borough projects jisco music nugget planets for a stripped back special 12inch disco version.

the vibes pushes further still in a darker, more abstract and clubby mood. finally, we wind down with walk away, making the perfect close for a brilliant, fresh and original lp from a highly talented couple of producers whose passion and knowledge of music shines brightly here. difficult second lp clearly not an issue with 6th borough project!
delusions of grandeur have had an exceptional couple of years since their inception in 2009 with fourteen vinyl 12 inches from a host of producers helping to put them at the top of the pile of underground labels making house music for discerning ears. it was only a matter of time before the label took the logical next-step into artist albums and here they are with the debut lp from 6th borough project entitled >one night in the borough<.
fina records welcome jad & the for a new ep that shows off the australian-born, berlin-based producer’s majestically melodic house sound. a special dub from 6th borough project makes this another essential release. before now jad & the has served up tracks of the year (‘strings that never win’ - mixmag 2017), fronted four piece live act mitzi—who played alongside the likes of nile rodgers—and also produced as jad & the ladyboy, all the while picking up fans like moxie and bradley zero. sonar kollektiv and toy tonics have put out his charming sounds before and this new one is another joyous offering. the feel good ‘2 getha (4 eva mix)’ kicks things of with old school drum breaks and loved-up vocals. big smeared pads, a new age melody and classic bassline line finish it off and carry you away to summery house heaven. ‘twist club’ then drops into lush deep house with a long legged bassline tumbling beneath organic drums. it’s a dreamy and romantic cut before ‘disco hold down’ has live sounding jazz drums, choppy vocals and rough edges that take you to the heart of a vibe-fulled basement party. delusions of grandeur’s 6th borough project serve up a dub that’s more stripped back and built on a big rubber bassline. jacking drums and a more rapturous vocal make it a truly steamy jam.
