swiss artist and veteran producer ripperton contacted the esp institute out of the blue mid-2017 to share a gorgeous mix of self-produced material. a collection of pieces made without any agenda outside of representing the self. not geared toward the dancefloor or a specific environment but simply a bi-product of introspective exploration. we were floored. the mix was on constant repeat in our world for weeks. then was subsequently pulled apart into separate titles to form this beautiful double lp. ripperton’s debut with the label. the title sight seeing speaks of someone stepping outside their current reality to look in the mirror. as if to ground themselves and keep sight of who they are in a world of extreme highs and lows. inspired greatly by expansive landscapes and views from airplane windows (imagine your commute flying over the alps every weekend). ripperton describes this collection as postcards to himself. messages from his subconscious recorded on tape (both conceptually and literally). melancholy soundtracks to the mondays that follow weekend journeys. while musical genres tend to cycle through bandwagon moments. the esp institute strives to operate independently of these. and while sight seeing is undoubtably an ambient album. we’re simply proud to revel in the chance moment where an esteemed artist such as ripperton spreads his wings in a beautifully unexpected mode of expression.

vozduh (air) marks the first in a series of eps by nocow for figure. showcasing his emerging signature-style of electronica-tinged techno. drawing inspiration from the sheer endless winters of st. petersburg. his series builds on classic idm tropes. imbuing them with a noticably russian and deeply personal sensitivity. as each part of the trilogy is represented by an element. the tracks on vozduh are vaporous by nature: from the crackling ambiance of opener bouis to the weightless vocals on stoic forgiven. as well as a surprisingly introspec-tive take on ghetto-house or the wafting melodies closing out the records b-side - all forms seem to be in con-stant shift. casting a dense yet permeable body of sound. with two more releases on the way. which will be exploring the themes of voda (water) and zemlya (earth) within this artists singular spectrum. the outlook (which also includes a full- volume edition) on this approaching season is anything but gloomy.

answer code request’s 2014 debut lp code was an exciting moment for electronic music in berlin – one that offered a break from the eternal hall and monolithic 4/4 kicks that ruled the city’s club landscape. as a hybrid gesture. the album’s spirit recalled an especially fruitful era in the german capital from the mid-90s to early 2000s. when dub and pad- driven detroit techno cross-pollinated with berlin’s industrial aesthetic to create one of the city’s most exciting musical chapters.

eklo 011. his first single on the label. after his famous >close to me< from the hooksey series. boris horel bring us here his idea of modern house music. a real trip in his mind with his wellknown skills. fat groovy beats. weirdy voices and some chemical hooks that bring his art to a high level of creativity and originality. a1. >how do i look like< is an attempt to mix my love for both old school and new school house music. looking for this kind of >95 tunnel< sound and feeling . but with a modern twist on the form and a more summerish vibe. the pitched vocals helps to push the track towards a weird sliding sensation .adding a catch to the almost liquid bassline. a2. seuil remix. is something more darky and stripped down. full of analog grooves. sub and crunchy basses. he turns the track in something more deep and afterhour feeling… b. paranoia pantomime . the long side. great old school feeling >a la carter<. rolling shinning hats. fat grumbling basses lead the track...add to this some weird effects and some sexy catchy voices. here is the horels reciepe to bring u back some old feelings from your ravy times. essential debut ep for this new eklo artist. essential 12inch

after his very successful remix of slip away on noir music we are extremely delighted to release this incredible ep from olivier. paris based giacomotto is no new name to the scene but he has hit a sweet spot on noir music with his recent productions and this postgalactic 4-tracker might be his best effort to date. all 4 tracks move in the same universe but show giacomotto from melodic to the more minimal sound. its been ages since weve heard such a solid effort from 1 artist and we have been all smiles here since giacomotto decided to shower noir music with his great productions.
new years deal - british techno producer tom dicicco makes his debut on delsin now after many fine releases on off minor recordings. the corner and his own run out run and inner surface music. he is someone with a textural richly. forceful sound that is dark and abstract yet enriched with very real emotions and here he is on point once more with some of his most sensitive and cerebral cuts yet.

italian label spazio disponibile continues its fine run of form with a new ep that features four collaborative tracks by the bosses voices from the lake (aka donato dozzy and neel) versus semantica boss svreca. the ep is a result of their first studio session all together in rome. all three have been perfecting cinematic ambient techno for years now and have the cerebral. atmospheric aesthetic down to a tee. here they offer up proof across a series of hypnotic tracks that take you deep into your own mind. it s alien and abstract yet wholly consuming and will zone you out in no time.
salvation is found by identifying thesis and antithesis of a logically conceived duality as a receptive polarity which is then synthesized and expressed on a higher level. thereby practicing what is preached is the all-embracing love in the presence of the creator. the purest original state pre-dating the judgmental so called >fall of man< in unity with life itself is the principle of holiness and the root of inner peace. glory to g-d!
