(recorded from 1993-2000) they were incredibly kind in saying it was the best demo they had ever heard and passed it on to octal records for release. sadly. that didn t materialize and since then these masters have been collecting dust in our cassette rack for nearly 20 years now. we ve spent months doing our best to restore the old tapes from our tascam 688. an 8 track cassette recorder purchased and abused since 1992 and to our ears still sounds quite impressive even by modern standards. we ve had nearly every component replaced and re-calibrated to bring this obsolete machine back to life. it s been a truly nostalgic experience re-visiting and redesigning these masters. we truly hope you enjoy reliving these magical times of music. very inspired by all that was happening in those years. there was just something in the air. an undeniable energy. long may it live on..

12" Vinyl UK25.06.18
two berlin underdogs and a detroit ravemaster. a driving force in the very early frankfurt electronics since the late 80s. to hardcore acid in brooklyn in the early 90s. producing legends as carlos peron among many others along his way. adsx aka andre fischer might sound new to many but has been an active part of the underground electronic movement for the last 30 years. benji df aka hanoben is no newbie to the scene either and might have soundtracked your night if you were to be found at clubs like tresor or snax in the late 90s. together they recorded an ode to aural sex. its acid counterpart. and a genius sketch of a club banger. when label honcho capablanca heard the latter had little doubts about commissioning an extended mix to motor city s special forces gen. sharif laffrey aka thee activator. who needs little introduction to the discerning raver ears as the man behind instant acid classics turn it up and always. among others. after countless studio days and nights and endless versions (we stopped counting at 56th) sharif delivers what is possibly his best work to date. an unstoppable 12 minute dancefloor annihilator. to wrap such special release we asked legend alan oldham aka ur s minister of information aka dj t-1000. (also responsible for label designs for transmat. djax. submerge. pure sonik and a long etcetera) to create one of his classic artworks. capablanca deconstructs his center pieces for the fully printed sleeve. and everybody s.c.r.e.a.m.

bass culture welcomes frenchman leo pol to the fold for this fresh new four-tracker full of analogue vibes. leo s penchant for synthesisers and the warmth of his beloved machines is evident throughout this new release. with a retro soul spliced with modern sensibilities and. of course. visions of the future. things get off to an energetic start with caliente . a track that combines a killer main riff. scintillating pads and steam-powered percussion to really get those feet moving. this is followed by fnc burning . which totally slips the script with its off-kilter rhythm and uk-influenced breakbeat-esque sound. get ready for a sublime breakdown. with more uk rave stylings in the second half... fresh!on the flip side we get dark outside. which harks back to the early days of post-electro detroit. those formative years when masters like juan atkins were the soundtrack of motor city... from the hushed. silky vocal to the cosmic bleeps. this is a homage to the ghosts of techno s past. with a contemporary sheen.finally. we finish up with techyes no! . a dark. marauding stomper with a menacing atmosphere and spinetingling strings to really amplify the eerie feeling that pervades throughout. a diverse. yet cohesive collection of killer cuts from the young master leo pol and another superb bass culture release. only the finest from d julz s excellent label...

sebo ks last release on mobilee. diva. was a hit. and one of mobilees most popular tracks in 2008. since then hes primarily stayed under the radar. popping up only momentarily to release a track on cecille in july of 2009. with his new release spirits. sebo returns not only to mobilee but also to the sonic tropes that propelled him to success in the first place. undulating melodics that stretch like rubber bands. a funky bass line. and a jacking house beat: within the first few seconds of hearing spirits one immediately recognizes the slew of sounds with which sebo k made his name. the track takes its time to build as well. riding the groove for a bit before bringing a singular. high pitched note into the picture. as it continually gains momentum and rises in intensity. the captivating sounds of a piano arrive. adding yet another layer of familiar and hypnotic melody. all the tracks components merge seamlessly. with percussive accents here and there until staccato strings make a dramatic entrance. fluttering and dialogue with the rest of the tracks components. by the end of the track. the piano has gotten back in the drivers seat. steering the track along it s course. the drum version builds off the vintage house sounds of the a-side but substitutes extensive percussion from max moya for the strings and piano

cassegrain & tin man are a deadly combination. old school acid lines programmed by one of the greatest masters in this field meet a super modern techno sound design by cassegrain. who have made themselves a name in the last years for producing some of the finest in dark and experimental techno. for the follow up to their debut release on killekill they have put together three tracks that are outstand- ing. high & low is a slowly swelling minimalistic acid epos of over 10 minutes length which proves the mas- tership of tin man in programming acid loops of eternal quality. 8 beats length only. but constantly evolving. no chance for boredom. the b-side starts with sex kit. a dark acid stomper with a chirping percussion which is well suitable for the peaktime dancefloor. followed by sand maze. a sublte minimalistic ambient acid piece. that winds its way into total dissolution. we are quite sure that this is the way acid should sound in 2013.

to commemorate our 10 year anniversary celebration. this new release comes in the form of our beloved deepchord presents echospace project. the set was recorded live at ghost in the sound on 05/26/2013 a few miles away from hart plaza. an official movement after party curated by the detroit paranormal society in association with echospace. and now re-mastered by rod modell. from the second the bass dropped. it stole the breath from the room! this duo started off as barely more than a rumor supported mostly by the continous scarcity of their records. the duo comprised of detroits rod modell and steven hitchell have spent nearly two decades producing low-key electronic music both bordering on the verge of myth. theyre considered by many the most noted producers operating in the dub-infused aftermath of the basic channel axis and all its myriad offshoots. once their critically-acclaimed the coldest season emerged on one the uk based modern love imprint. the curtain was unveiled and the sound of echospace was born. they ve often been coined the true heirs to the basic channel legacy but their work finds a home somewhere on the outskirts of the galaxy. where detroit soul ties to jamaican roots played through a tunnel in deep space. this evocative. immersive sound that is echospace was born out of a love and passion for analog circuitry. sound design. field recordings and non-conventional methods of recording. but its also work thats quintessentially building upon the detroit electronic scene where it was born. and that divine marriage of roots and vision make the work at once so highly considered. so pertinent and so timeless. this is the first new album from the echospace duo since the critically-acclaimed silent world (ost) 3lp/cd set dropped 5 years ago. it features live renditions of some of their classics as well as unreleased material. expect gorgeous plumes of sound deeper than the ocean floor. a rich analog tapestry made and performed in the heart of detroit. techno city!
