urbanatribù war ein äußerst interessantes projekt aus alessandria, einer tiefen norditalienischen provinz. die gruppe wurde von dem bassisten flavio gemma und dem cyber-wizard massimiliano bocchio gegründet und interpretierte elektronische musik und tanzmusik auf besondere weise.

gemma gründete einige wichtige italienische wave-gruppen der 80er jahre wie viridanse und c.o.d.e.x. mit einigen späten abstechern in die punk-szene mit peggio punx. bocchio debütierte 1994 auf dem bahnbrechenden imprint minus habens records unter dem namen klange, was den einzigartigen und radikalen sound des labels widerspiegelt. inspiriert von john carpenter-filmen, rauen bässen und britischen geistergeschichten, entstanden urbanatribù-platten gegen jede ordnung.

die mächtigen deep house-sounds von paskal aus berlin waren bereits auf labels wie wildtrackin oder room with a view zu hören. gemeinsam mit urban absolutes aus essen, der gerade auf phoniques label ladies & gentlemen für furore gesorgt hat, heuert er nun bei farside an. das original von >need love< ist ein heruntergebremstes percussion-monster, während der henry l-remix das tempo anzieht und mit einer reese-bassline den boden erzittern lässt. außerdem dabei ist ein funkiger disco-dub von ingo sänger und henry l.

not much really needs to be said about a new release on mahogani music, especially since it involves contributions from some of detroits greats, including kenny dixon jr, anthony shakir, carl craig, and last but not least, the main man sherard ingram aka stingray. its a single lp which contains 12 tracks. a couple of shorter skits, but most pretty much full tracks. time to state the obvious.. !!attention!!!: this release contains some clicks , maybe not good enough for high fidelity fans... sound is raw and analog!!!

after appearing on the excellent tama sumo panomrama bar mix cd this detroit band project makes their debut on planet e with this nice melodic yet ruff house/ techno hybrid.

european percussionist and afro-urban concept leader eric thomas performs live in clubs with music partner dj celyan for more than 10 years. they recently put their creativity together to make their first vinyl. the result is a tribute to some popular brazilian rhythms such as capoiera and samba adapted for clubs and djs.
