we ve had our eyes and ears on tee mango for a while now. his debut album imperfections is a future classic in our book and the tribute series has been part of our dj-sets for a while now. in short we had to get him to do an ep for local talk. dadhaus ep is forward-thinking music with an edge (undoubtedly sharpened through countless studio hours). tee channels the deep house flavours of detroit and chicago across four tracks of exquisitely executed percussion and sample-not-sample work. its another winner from the man like tee mango.

it really feels like we (aka mad mats & tooli) have been around way longer than 5 1/2 years with local talk, but it s really true what they say, time flies when you re having fun! from what started as a somewhat simple and almost primitive urge to create a small house imprint has now grown into a much bigger affair. we really tried hard to keep the label from getting stuck in any genre (remember 90s house?) and to always keep the local talk relevant, curious, diverse and with a healthy dose of underground mentality. from our very first release with bassfort s excellent moon shadow in the summer of 2011, we had a crystal clear vision of what local talk should represent...house music in any way, shape or form! over the years we released soulful, disco, jack, afro, vocal, deep, jazz, tech, latin, old school, acid, uk, berlin, new jersey, detroit and of course chicago inspired house music. if it made us bump...we put it out! this brings us up to today and about +80 releases later. we thought about how we best could sum up these first 5 1/2 years and immediately the image of blaze s classic album 25 years later popped up. besides the fact that it s an amazing album cover it also a good representation when different musical genres fuse together. it s not strictly a house album but just as well a r&b, reggae and soul album. this fusion and variation of house sounds is something that we ve tried to capture on our 5 1/2 years later compilation, split into two parts. on part 2 you ll find a high energy disco rub from parisian s3a, a truly deep and soulful vocal jam from boddhi satva & sly johnson, a deep uk garage production from smbd (aka simbad), a dark and electronic affair from toto chiavetta (yoruba) and finally a musical acid number with that magical bristol touch from newcomer marcel lune. all in all we think we got most angles covered and hopefully this album will make you spread that chalk on the dance floor and get down...local talk style

tommy garofalo aka turbojazz returns to local talk after remixing corrado bucci back in 2015. a producer with great versatility that started djing and producing music during the 90 s, heavily inspiried by hip hop. something that would bring him to explore the whole black music culture, from dance floor jazz to rare funk and disco, passing through all things soulful and deep. take all of the above & stir it in a musical pot and you get the unbreakable ep , the debut 12- on local talk from turbojazz. the ep kicks of with please u which features david blank on vocals. a retro-futuristic track with warm chords draping themselves over snappy snares & melodies. on the flip, unicorn rising bounces along with the sort of finesse you d expect from a producer like recloose, it s flavoured with quirky breaks and warm fuzz bass & analogue-sounding keys. last but not least we ve got evm128 on remix duties, a feel-good slice of broken beat anyone ? it s a blinder ladies and gentlemen.

manchester s very own mr scruff and nyc crate digger ge-ology remix moscow s lay-far! now that s what we call a truly international release. it s kind of a dream release for us at local talk as both scruff and ge-ology have been on our we wanna get them on local talk plastic list for quite some time. starting off we find scruff going for a slight disco(ish) rub where analogue synths bumps around with a dark but musical basement feel...but still jazzy! on the flip our man ge-ology who is riding high on the hype from his release on theo parrish s sound signature label goes on a deep and spaced out electronic house venture that is so edgy it hurts. its that good good shit basically...enjoy!

over a handful of singles and an album on bristol labels like immerse, idle hands and brstl, it is now time for jacob martin and matt lambert aka outboxx to make their debut on local talk. sticking close to what they do best, this ep is filled with house music infused with electronic soul.

what happens if you ask two up and coming and highly talented uk producers to create a track for local talk, then get a hyped house duo from manchester to remix it? you get the bitter love ep from the true rebels together with a fierce remix from deep space orchestra. its two very different takes in both tempo and energy. the original version is a battle of piano stabs with a bouncy yet filthy bassline that results in midtempo house burner with a slight techy feel. the deep space orchestra remix takes us straight to detroit, fusing classic techno sounds together with modern house.

1nce again is back, this time with the first single in a double package! this is the first of two 12 inches containing one of our absolute favourite tracks from prolific producer ken duke aka dj duke. closer was orginally released back in 1994 on dukes power music records and the amazing klubb kidz mixes quickly found its way into many djs record bags, including label boss mad mats who rates the flava dub as one of his favourite deep house cuts of all time. if u ever heard mats spinning a house set chances are big you have heard this mix blasted loud! first up for remixes duties this time is mark seven, parkway/parkwest label owner, a true djs dj, a passionate music lover and record collector extrodinare. the so close mix of closer is deep house at its finest, an homage to the classic prescription sound keeping it ultimately atmospheric. the stalker mix continues on the same vibe yet develops into something more meaty and pumping during its course. together with the original klubb kidz flava dub and the mark seven mixes this release got everything a true deep house head needs.

little is known about mysterious producer tommy rawson. our first acquaintance was the aptly named shy track on red rackems smugglers inn 001 release. we tried to find out more but the trail got cold pretty quick. it was not until hearing gilles peterson playing a version of hugh masekelas dont go lose it baby on his show that word got around, tommy rawson was back. this particular anthemic track found its way to mats who then started playing it out and every time, in every club no matter where in the world the reaction was same, people completely lost it on the dance floor! we had but no choice to release the track and luckily enought tommy must have a sixth sense because at the same time mats blasted the track at the local talk office to convince tooli shouting: this is the next big release for local talk, i m telling you! another track made it into his mailbox, the soulful house jam brenda done died with no name. both tracks ended up on this 12 inch of course. mr rawson has delivered the goods here, warm, sunsplashed music all the way. a name to watch for this year and probably not mysterious for long.

andreas saag returns to local talk with a follow-up to his back to life ep, this time he has invited longtime friend and studio partner cazuma mori, together both of them offers the local talk fans house music with a distinctive production technique. >nostalgia< is a warm stomping basement beats floor-filler, with a fat bassline tempered by rising chord textures, smartly coordinated with the pulses in the track. both saag & cazuma showcases their skills in tackling slower bpms too. the b-side >cant hide it< comes with intricate keyboard work and deep atmosphere that is driven by an appealingly on-point house bassline. the track picks up a new elements at just the right moment to keep you on board the whole 8 minutes. there is no messin around here, just pure deep house from local talk.

hitoshi murakami aka first floor debuts on local talk. opening track you dubn t know got a heavy bassline, deep chords and hypnotic textures and sounds like it was tailor-made for those dark and late after hours in the club. a righteous lesson in bumpin deep house... on the flip, delight , shows a different side. a piano driven house track with a great sense of melody that just keeps on keeping on - and that s a good thing.

nycs finest dj spinna comes through on local talk with an epic release that might surprise those of you expecting a more traditional soulful house workout ! this time spinna went out of his comfort zone with a deep warehouse journey that works equally well in dark european house clubs or at the shelter in nyc. tb or not tb got that perfect blend of space darkness, analogue synths and that old school house thump. initially it s quite raw and simplistic but the true magic of this track begins halfway in (be patient!). if there ever was a journey track, this is the one! but we re not done, on the flip spinna also comes through with a warm and melodic deep house jam destined for those very last small hours. oh btw...that analogue bassline got that extra. thang!

cuthead have, over the last few years released all kinds of gritty house and hip hop beats but normally through his friends over at uncanny valley. we re now overjoyed to offer you his first ep on local talk and honestly, it s everything we could ve hoped for. spread out over four tracks you get a real dirty basement jam (fuck that shit), a sample friendly house nugget (get down) and a melodic 4/4 tune that sounds like if cuthead and our old friend hnny hooked up in the studio together it got that lil sweet twist we all love! to round off the ep we also included something extra special for the beat heads, a jazzy instrumental hip hop number (what can i say). a pretty good debut on local talk if you ask us

it’s time for local talk to go local again with another swedish producer, eric ericsson. with numerous releases out in labels like planet e, fragile and freerange he’s one of those producers with one foot in the techno scene and another in the more soulful house scene. basically, he s not a one trick pony! for his release on local talk we would say he lands somewhere between classic chi-town house and thumping nyc house groove but without sounding too retro or washed out. its simply real house music! we begin with love it, a real bumpy house track with analogue basslines and swinging fender grooves that will work both stateside and in the european house clubs. the second track the chi is as the title suggest a homage to chicago with a slight old school boo williams fee. - dope! but thats not all, to give the release a broader twist we got man of the moment oskar offerman (berlin) to remix love it for us. oskar goes more deep with his trademark sound and gives us a dark mix that will sound amazing in your favourite berlin club of choice.

claes rosen makes a welcome return to local talk after his daydreaming release back in 2013. for his new release claes has written a beautiful house jam that s got after hours written all over it. it s melodic, soulful, spiritual but still mighty uplifting. fans of glenn underground or blaze should listen carefully. on the flip we ve got something truly special for all the real house heads - lars bartkuhn & marek bartkuhn aka needs are back on the house circuit. yup, it s true! needs are back once again and agreed to deliver a remix for local talk. back in the late 90 s and early 2000 s needs was a huge breath of fresh air to the house scene with their melodic chicago inspired house sound. the remix delivered here is again something timeless and unique, sounding simultaneously classic and new! it s a real builder, so let this one run its full course. trust us, you ll be rewarded big time!

hailing from the small town of stroud, south west england, marcel lune has been quickly building his reputation as one of the hottest new talents in the uk bass music scene. having discovered an 808 in his parents attic at a young age, it quickly became one his favourite toys and set him off on a musical voyage which is beginning to gather momentum. having already released a string of releases including a full album for studio rockers last year, this release with local talk is a new chapter in the ever growing marcel lune saga. this debut for local talk is nothing short of brilliance. an ep that sits somewhere between the early floating points days and local talk s very own crackazat jamming with harvey sutherland. from the opening track sketches marcel brings broken house rhythms, piano chords and dancing acid lines in a glorius way. the clever vocal arrangement on eat good takes no prisoners and on the flip crazy love , another vocal track, marcel slows things down a bit together with vocalist bluesz. the ep ends with soul music, upping the energy level slightly with its snappy, jazz-influenced beats and dancing synth lines. a beautiful and fitting addition to the ever expanding local talk catalogue.

music has always played a major part in ezel s life. having done remix work for labels such as yoruba, king street and reel people and working with artists such as tortured soul, daz-i-kue, atjazz, john arnold & jeremy ellis, it s now time to welcome ezel to the local talk family with get down . opening is the title track get down (original mix) , with its immersive chords, bumping bassline and the help from the unmistakeable vocal talents of tumelo, it s house the way we like it. both soulful and deep. on the b-side ezel serves us a remix of get down. there s no denying in that there s a strong osunlade envisionesque feel to this one - and that s a good thing ! an absolute must for every dj s bag, trust us. finally production heavyweight atjazz revisits the glory of the bayacou mix but focuses more on the finer tweaks, it s all in the details folks.

you can always trust ludovic llorca. once a year he locks himself in his studio and works the magic which results in a local talk release. his previous releases on local talk, the same thing (classic proto housemeets-baggy us garage vibe) the rainbow song (it sounds like an underground summer anthem in waiting) are lt classics and now, ludo returns with a third release, i just can t ep. while some producers struggle with new ideas, trying to re-invent the genre, ludo sticks to what he knows best. strings and chords combined with a thick and squelchy bass is the foundation of the title track while on the flip, dirty stories, is as hypnotic as it is jackin, in fact, both tracks are so irresistible you d start wondering if ludo stole them from a snake charmer.

fox tooth was one of the big releases of 2015 on local talk. if you haven t heard it you probably dont remember 2015 at all! all we did was play fox tooth. now, a year later we re proud to present the fox tooth remixes. karizma aka kaytronik gets straight to the point, strips down the original and tensely builds the track slowly, keeping the groove on the bone. on the flip, peacy offers a remix with all the elements of the original, perfectly combined with a few tricks of his own, in a stunning new combination, it sure impresses.

local talk release number 66 moves in deeper territories with a duo that needs no further introduction, greg dowling, shane johnson aka fish go deep. these two fine gents have been releasing music for more than two decades. both greg & shane played an integral part in the emergence of house music in cork city between the years of 1988 and 2001 as their well renowned sweat night at sir henrys helped to attract a host of talent, such as kerri chandler, laurent garnier, dj deep, glenn underground, derrick may just to name a few. it s a big, big honour to have them on aboard for this debut on local talk. first track, off script, takes us straight back to the days of prescription. the driving kick and bassline, warm pads and a hypnotic melody line that crescendos throughout the track keeping you hooked from start to finish. on the flip, northern reach, follows on the same theme. it hits deep, the strings adds that extra bit of drama and again showing the duo s skill in creating perfect atmospheric and timeless deep house. you wouldn t be surprised to hear dixon drop this in a dj set.

repress 2016 !! last year stockholm based producer hnny provided us one of the biggest releases on local talk to date. now he’s back with a follow up, yearning, a straight up jackin’ house track to prove he’s not just one trick pony. dirtytwo got lot’s of music planned for 2013 on local talk. first up is a remix of hnny’s ”for the very first time”. this particular version started out as a secret weapon which they guys used in the liveset. mats & tooli heard it and decided that their version had to be released. simply put, the dirtytwo midas touch version is pure gold.

if you ve followed local talk thru the years you ve most likely noticed how we like to throw a few curve-balls every now and then. for our 65th release we ve got gomma boss mathias modica aka munk and ndatl head honcho kai alce sharing the black gold. two producers with their own unique style presenting something special. while munk s original version of hot medusa is a shimmering and warm head-nodding & toe-tapping jam, the remix by mr alce is deep, soulful and musically rich house. two very different takes on one track, take your pick. on the flip munk delivers purple dust. this time he s upped the tempo a few bpm s, accompanied by a deep bassline with lush melodic synths and chords. mr alce ends the 12- with a dub of hot medusa which is brilliant from start to finish. another highly recommended and essential release.

ever since the debut, communication ep which also marked our 50th release, alexander lay-far has a special place in the local talk family.

we had no choice but to bring back our friend kiko navarro after the success of the new life ep released on local talk earlier this year. isao is kiko at his finest, a beautiful and hypnotic house track that has the perfect blend of afro and latin elements with a bouncy electronic edge. theres also a mighty fine remix coming from jose marquez. jose develops the vocal elements and brings in a whole orchestra of drums taking the track in a sweatier direction. kiko also delivers a koki dub where he continues on the same vibe and adds strings complimented by shakers and percussions throughout the track.

adesse versions started out as a re-edit series, with humble ambitions of releasing a couple of white labels, nothing more, nothing less. it kept growing with both original productions and remixes appearing. it didn t take long until tracks such as pressured, modal and justified appeared on charts and the records found their way to such esteemed people as derrick may, larry heard, gilles peterson and of course mad mats & tooli. since then it s been an ongoing theme with kevin gormans music, yes that s his real name. always well received and played by many.

atjazz on local talk! pretty good combo right? well, just wait until you hear fox tooth and we re quite sure you ll agree with us that this is something above normal rank. martin iveson aka atjazz gave us a release that will work just as well on big sound systems as well as in those dark house basements. the original version is an electronic house jam that s equipped with all necessary tools in order to peak in the main room but without all the played out tech-house schemes. it s uplifting yet dark and carves a very personal groove - yum ! oh, don t miss the killer break down...big! the second version comes in the form of his inspired atjazz galaxy aart dub and this to be fair is more of a remix than a dub. here we step straight down to the darkness for a warming deep house cut that sounds like something from the prescription archives but still retaining the trademark atjazz sound. this is simply, sophisticated house music for those who like things real.

no stranger to the house scene, kiko navarro is a dj and producer whose productions, remixes and edits have appeared on an impressive list of labels for many years.

he is young, gifted and italian! corrado bucci is the latest star to enter the local talk family of house. he currently holds the a&r position at rebirth records where he also put out the beautiful *open your eyes* single last year. he previously also released on defected and has earned respect from people like gilles peterson, jimpster, dan curtin, agoria, x-press 2, ben westbeech and solomun to name just a few.

new year, new release and a new local talk member to introduce to you all - lets all welcome merrick. this young wiz kid steps up to the plate with a three track sweaty and headstrong release for our local talk off shoot ltx. developed deep inside his sound lab somewhere in europe, using dark grooves and dusty chords as the foundation - this release leaves you in no doubt where his current position is - in the club. from the opening track do that with its chunky grooves and warm basslines via the scene, a basement deep house track that ll satisfy all the moodymann fans out there. the last track, devils dance, keeps us hypnotically locked from start to finish with its rich and warm chords, have a listen - youll understand why.

it has been local talk bosses mad mats & toolis secret weapon during their dj sets over the past months and have destroyed clubs from london to berlin. with a super catchy chord theme, bumpy 4/4 beats and a slight uk feel this is as bad as it gets. it is just one of those tunes you immediately recognise and can relate with. together with a deep journey house remix from ad bourke and a fierce uk inspired bass/house mix from colognes hade we dare to say that this is one the finest releases on local talk so far. original bristol cat crackazat (now residing in uppsala, sweden) got a sound that fuses jazz theories, electronic 4/4s with a deep uk underground mentality. think underground resistance meets floating points and your almost there. somewhere else is the second single from crackazat on local talk and in early 2015 he will drop his debut album crescendo on local talk.

we are very honoured to welcome the cologne-based producers hade + gutta to the local talk family. their debut release marks a further development of the local talk sound, balancing between house & bass. the ep kicks off with *nothing wrong*, a track built around a bouncy bass riff that lingers and weaves around a clever vocal splicing. *in me* continues where *nothing wrong* left off but adds more depth and ingenious stabs, it is a 100% bouncing track for sure. ending the ep is hades solo number *baphome*. a bass fuelled floor packer with nicely interwoven synths and a hypnotic house groove that remains present throughout the track. in conclusion - a garage-esqe belter with the right amount of wobbly bass to satisfy all your dj & dance floor needs.

javier & luis garayalde aka kyodai are back on local talk with their third release since the debut *breaking* back in 2012. as always we are thrilled to present new tracks from the duo whose been integral in establishing local talk. the pace is set with the first track *konbanwa*, showcasing the duos phenomenal skills in creating something both classic and modern by fusing a tight and driving groove, tension building chords and a bumpy bass hook to great effect. believe us when we say it has been an absolute highlight in our dj-sets thru out the summer. on *so special* the brothers go back to their roots and create a track that has got both the sound and feel of their previous tracks *breaking* and *the scene* - in other words, another big track from kyodai!

we are celebrating 50 release on local talk and what better way to do it than welcome alexander lay-far, the moscow-based dj and producer to the family.

mr saag is back for his third release on local talk, *in the box* and this time he went all in. this 12 provides a meaty affair with firm drums, well-treated vocal snippets, organ hooks and the works. the opening track *in the box* uses strong synth stabs to full effect and the marriage of percussive and crunchy rhythms in this track is saag at his best. it is so good we decided to include a drum track of it too! *suddenly i woke up* is basement house with organ hook, afro percussive rhythms and a bassline from the deep depths of detroit.

its time for local talk to go local again with another swedish producer, eric ericsson. with numerous releases out in labels like planet e, fragile and freerange he is one of those producers with one foot in the techno scene and another in the more soulful house scene. basically, he is not a one trick pony! for his release on local talk we would say he lands somewhere between classic chi-town house and thumping nyc house groove but without sounding too retro or washed out. its simply real house music!

sometimes it is best to let the music do the talking, this is one of those occasions. local talks 46th release comes from exciting debutant sameed. little did we know about sameed before we got the four tracks for this 12 inch, for all we know it could be your neighbour. quick-firing the release is spend, functional as a set highlight with its dubby chords, vocal snippets and a wonky bassline. included on the b-side is a dub that will work perfect as a dj tool for those who want to go a little bit deeper. showcasing sameeds sense for keeping things stripped down and sweaty, still is a dirty exercise in acid witchcraft while getyoself can best be described as a delicately raw rhythm with dark textures.

when luke solomon got in touch and said he wanted to work with local talk we felt both honoured and happy, especially since we have been fans for a long time and mats actually booked him to his raw fusion club in the late 90s. he has been around long enough to be considered a legend within the scene. we couldnt agree more. lost channels, a 130 bpm piano driven and punk-dubby new york inspired house track comes in two versions. the raw & stripped version is exactly what the name says, sharp snares & hi-hats, piano chords, a driving rhythm with lukes trademark percussion sprinkled on top. the live piano version is actually the original version and is peppered with more of everything. bubbly fx, more of that staccato piano and of course that muscular bassline. for remix duties it is the return of an old local talk friend, wil maddams. it seems like wil has spent some time in detroit since last time. this remix sounds like something that would come straight out of the d, his clever drum programming holds this track together with its deep pads and bubbling bassline. it is a retro (but fresh) techno jam for 2014.

the second release in 2014 is yet another debut on local talk, the german trio tim vita, oliver gehrmann, xaver hirsh serve up their take on house music, jazzy and deep , warm & organic-sounding tracks. from the energetic yet jazzy opening track jazzclub to the to the forward pushing street sounds, they’ll have you smiling and vibing in no time. the flip, blessed munchkin, cleverly drawing things to a close and showcasing their jazz influences. simply put, their trinity ep is inspirational house music down to its soul. local talk is talking to you!

bristol native and musical wiz benjamin jacobs aka crackazat dazzled us since the first time we heard him a few years ago on futureboogie with his deep and jazzy electronic house not house sound. after a move to sweden and refining his characteristic music profile you will now find hints of floating points, faltydl, lone or underground resistance in his productions. its dance + music at its best and something truly special if you ask us! after a killer track (size up) on local talks off shoot label oneoffs and a bumpin piano remix for tony blitz our man crackazat is now here with his first solo release on local talk ... the candle coast ep. all three tracks are winners by themselves and its seriously tricky to single out any of them so its just up to you to choose your favourite cut. it wont be easy we tell you!

our favourite swedish house duo is back…more dirty than ever! the follow-up to the previous eps moody & trapped is nothing short of brilliant. waisted with its plucked strings is classic deep house held together by a bumpy groove, soulful vocals & slick keyboard but still maintaining the formula that defines dirtytwo and their finest work to date. talking 2 u is where dirtytwo gets deep down and gritty. chunky house chords, a meaty bassline, cut-up voice samples in full basement effect. flip over for the hard on edit of talking 2 u which goes one step further adding some acid lines and a raw basement feeling. a dub for those who seek a more raw and heavier tool. local talk is talking to you!

another french producer on local talk? yes, you are damn right. let us welcome max fader aka s3a (sampling is an art) to the family. we have been keeping an eye on this talented producer who has been making waves with his massive releases on phonogram, hold youth and 4lux. sleepless 909 and intensity are great examples of s3as tightly spliced works of wonder. disco and funk fueled loops paired together with slammin hi-hats and organ stabs. does it kick? hell yes! this 10 inch will keep any party moving. local talk is talking to you!

local talk is proud to welcome back tony blitz from c.r.s.t. - remember monster munch ep back in january? t stands for tony blitz, the one and very same we got on this release.
on the a-side we are treated to two slammin tracks, vodka & valium & bring it back are both the perfect mix between uk garage & house. studio wizard crackazat, last heard on our sub-label oneoffs, re-built the track into a piano driven house track infused with lots of melodies.

in 2011 when mad mats and tooli went to sonar festival in barcelona they met ludovic llorca aka art of tones outside a club. little did they know back then that two years later on they would release a 12 inch together. the same thing ep opens with the title track and kicks pretty damn sweet with its strong vocal, the guitar, bass and rhodes jamming on top of a tight groove, there is also a dub version included on the b-side. last but not least, the great sgatmi is a jazzy and bumpy house take with lots of samples perfectly balanced. all in all, classic art of tones material and the work of a producer firing on all cylinders.

anaxander make a welcome return to local talk following the mighty local talking ep released earlier this year which got support from heavy weights like rolando, ben sims, recloose, ben westbeech and many more. on this release he drops the bpms and let the machines do the talking. both candy stand and my aniseed lollipop are perfect examples of how to lay down an acid track sparse but bold percussion frameworks to contain that all important, tension laced 303 work - perfect for ballrooms and basements alike!
