die 2004 veröffentlichte moneyshot ep markierte das debüt von drugsex recordings – einem kurzlebigen, aber kultigen new yorker vinyl-label, das aus der kreativen zusammenarbeit der britischen produzenten rob pearson und simon copleston hervorgegangen war. das duo hatte bereits an mehreren projekten zusammengearbeitet und begann, einen unverwechselbaren sound zu entwickeln, der klassische tech-house-elemente mit einer sleazy after-hours-sensibilität verband. die moneyshot ep war der erste vollständige ausdruck dieser vision – ein roher, nächtlicher dreitracker, der vor groove und attitüde nur so strotzt.

private parts hat es sich zur aufgabe gemacht, alte schätze auszugraben, zu remastern und wieder ins rampenlicht zu rücken – so auch bei der veröffentlichung nummer 07 im katalog. die londoner tech-master rob pearson & dave mothersole veröffentlichten „wanting you“ ursprünglich in den frühen 2000er jahren, aber angesichts der extremen preise auf discogs schien es die richtige entscheidung zu sein, diesen titel für euch neu zu pressen.
