for those of you wondering what adesse versions was doing at our heist boiler room this summer in london, the answer is here. the “push it along” ep for heist is adesse versions first appearance on our label and features 4 stunningly raw and warm originals, and an amazing remix by new york’s ambassador of funk: ge-ology, together with multi-instrumentalist marc de clive-lowe on keys. after having released numerous records for jackmaster’s numbers, local talk and toy tonics, we’re happy to welcome adesse versions to the heist family. when he sent us his demo’s we had the tough job to choose the right tracks, cause there were just too many. the selection on the “push it along ep” features what we feel are his purest work up to date. with only a small amount of elements, he manages to create such a big and warm sound, finding a great balance between gritty percussion, rich analog synths and funky sampling work.

african scream contest’ is the third release by the analog africa label. the project initially took off in august 2005 when label owner and vinyl collector samy ben redjeb arrived in cotonou, benin, “without any special expectations, just hoping to lay my hands on few good records - what i found in the process cannot really be described in words-. this first trip was followed by eight more to the region. thirty months and few thousand records later analog africa proudly presents this 14-track compilation. redjeb conducted 16 interviews in various cities in benin and togo with artists, producers and sound engineers to reconstruct the history of the 70s music scene for the 44 pages booklet which also features many rare photographs directly received from the artists. delve into the forgotten raw and psychedelic afro sounds from 70s benin and togo and experience the african scream contest. very, very limited copies in, and this might notcome in anymore.... tip!

digging deep into the annals of gospel now, the name pastor tl barrett should be familiar to the eagle eyed crate diggers amongst you. an extremely colourful character from chicagos southside neighbourhood who found himself on the wrong side of the law for his involvement in some activities of a dubiously illegal nature, more importantly, besides this the pastor was widely known for his community activism and positive sermons preaching love and responsibility.

back in 2015 our bearded dirtybird player, will clarke, needed a secret weapon for some of his festival gigs for the summer. he sampled the ghetto house legend, dj funk, who made an appearance on dirtybird back in 2013 for the kill frenzy smash, “make that booty clap”. will passed it on to the rest of the dirtybird crew, and before we knew it the track took a life of it’s own and quickly became one of the most requested tracks, even to this day. will ended up linking with dj funk himself, and they turned what was a quick bootleg into a full blown collaboration. ladies & gentlemen, “booty percolatin’” is officially here. for the flip side, we added will’s solo effort “house girl”, a bumpin’ ride with a contagious bassline and chanting vocals for all the ‘house boys’ and ‘house girls”

deep techno that nods to mid 90s detroit techno, carl craigs more songs about food and revolutionary art, kenny larkin s dark comedy, reese. we obviously receive a lot of demos at crowdspacer, and we can t listen to them all, one detail has to catch our attention. it can be how you present yourself, a weird artwork, or like here, a name, aqua matrix. i wanted to check what aqua matrix was about. and what a surprise to hear such amazingly produced deep techno that brought me back to my love for mid 90s detroit techno, carl craigs more songs about food and revolutionary art, kenny larkin s dark comedy, reese. this is aqua matrix first ep. he s from portugal and i can t wait to hear what he comes up with next.

sean sounds, born in the music trenches of chicago, has been rockin parties since the early 80s. known on the chicago scene as mr. bringtheheat, sean s music selections and playing style has filled dance floors for decades. this old school dj loves his wax so you never know what to expect when he blesses the tables but he never disappoints. sean sounds has unlocked his music vault to begin releasing edits and remixes that has rocked the crowds for years in his bringtheheat series on the street edits label. this series is a must have for djs who like to keep the dance floors packed.

fragil musique reaches the 20th release mark, and offers us a very special debut ep from a newcomer to watch. vidock lands on the label with an unusual three tracker, oscillating between intense breakbeat excursions and moody techno hybrids. -dub attack- is the main club weapon here. cycling around the drum loop, pads and samples build up to heavy tension moments, then fade away to fully unleash the force of the stripped down broken kick-bass groove. the pressure is strong and never stops rising, gradually bringing the dancer to a manic arms-shaking state, while sporadic laser synth shots and percussion hints sprinkle the track, smartly shaping its three-dimensional aspect. on the b side, dance music ufo - metamorph - is an epic journey through what feels like unexplored fringes of sample driven emotional dance music. movie-esque haunting voices and disturbing sirens set the vibe, inviting one to drift along this dark and coloured ride. fellow nantes native simo cell goes trippy on the remix, taking apart the most heady bits of the original and extending them into a deep and breaky piece.

aus music follow up a string of new signings with the return of 2 of the long-standing staples, label owner will saul and long term affiliate komon. the duo most recently collaborated on a 12inch for kompakt now together they ready the ‘eve’s seven’ ep a deep and dreamy 3-track ep that comes with a remix from recent signing recloose. bloom sets arresting riffs circling through rich textures that thicken and thin to startling effect. ‘eve’s seven’ follows up with dusty drum samples and bold melodies before the brooklyn native does what he does best in offering up a typically sunny take on komon & will sauls eves seven. sweeping filters and a short, driving bass line propel a highly energetic but playful rework primed for brimful dancefloors.

yet more italians on optimo trax! jose manuel delivers 4 unique exotic, fourth world, tribal slabs of ritual music. a1, the great beast in outer space is actually an andrew liles track that jose has completely reworked and sprinkled his magick on. mr. liles is one of my favourite producers in the world, both for his solo work and for his input into my all time heroes nurse with wound. for those who know his work, having something by him that will work on a dancefloor may bring a smile to your face. thankfully i know him a bit and he was more than happy to grant permission for this to be released. a2, folklore is fourth world exotica reimagined for late night dance rites. aa1, ritual, is exactly what the title says it is. aa2, sisi leaves the dance floor completely and even though optimo trax is 100% aimed at djs, was simply too lovely to leave off.

yet again, labelowner gaze ill joins forces with the danish dubstep ambassador rdg, this time for a 4 track collaborative ep. on the aside the artists minds melt together in two pieces of dubstepscience. as the title suggests, rdg and gaze ill show what dubstep is made of with “keepin’ it real” that’s characterized by a pressuring hardness, and uplifting energy. “the zone” follows with its progressive universe that evolves in just the right way with perfect timing. the bside shows off the two artists individual skills with immense, paranoid vibrations on rdg’s “shapeshift”, and thrillingly deep basslines on gaze ill’s “combo”. the ep is a refreshing showcase of the genre’s finest offerings original sound with a wellbalanced diversity. rdg and gaze ill keep it real for this first vinyl release on cue line records.

going back to classics could fall so easily, luckily for skudge presents, the persistent and class-act of mark broom leaves the mediocre in its rubble. eric cloutier: broom is a legend. i can t even count how many of his records i own. both of these are pure fire loving it! the kicking a-side, moments1, with the high paced energy and flirtations with the dutch classic style of techno-house crossover brings a smile upon djs and dancers alike - without going too much into nostalgia, this track is sure to find its way through the peak times. moments2 on the flip submerges deeper into this records vibe, with a progression that throbs more than kicks, with a saw tooth lead that keeps the moody atmosphere intact. a sure-shot 2 tracker is what we need and what we get

techno duo slam present a brand new artist album “machine cut noise”. with the double vinyl album, machine cut noise, stuart mcmillan & orde meikle delve into the everyday workings of what makes us human, with life, so to speak, running at the very heart of album. much of their time is spent on the road, therefore, many of the original ideas for the album were created in airports, hotels and where ever the two found themselves inspired around the world. this created a vibe that each track was born of the modern machine itself.

it all began with a licensing inquiry for a sister funk cut which we wanted to include on our deep funk comp titled “feeling nice vol. 3”. after the deal was completed producer fred forsh mentioned that the backing band of nadine brown’s masterpiece “leave me alone” had released a 45 themselves under their name teakwood. after mr. forsh played us both sides we knew that this 45 would have to be re-issued. what was about to follow nobody of us ever expected. mr. forsh told us that teakwood recorded almost a dozen of songs which were supposed to be released on a full length album. for unspecified reasons the album was never released and it remained in the can for almost 40 years. finally, we are very proud to announce the release of teakwood’s debut album “a distant star” in early 2017. until then you have to be content with this 45 rpm single re-issue.

what’s on help008? mainly music from the arhus-boy dj sports. it’s sort of a debut, but sports has released a bunch of tracks on regelbau and help over the past years, solo + with his groups maizena, sportscentral and lester. this young sensible producer initiates the release with the breaky hidden spheres that has a cool piano. next another leftwing original from sports. this one, with it’s flute, breakbeat, confident synth chords and beautiful minor nature is a favourite of mr. sports parents. this one is our favorite, his parents. if we haven’t lost you so far, the flipside contains a timeman dance version with more danceability, hook and playing time than the original version of the bridge that was released on the tape sportscentral. last but not least you get an alternative version of that get-in-touch-with-your-inner-passion/synthesizer-melody-rythmical-ambient-track mindless turns, that also originally appeared on the aforementioned tape. we hope you ll like our new record, that, if on repeat, might provide you hours and hours of by-yourself enjoyment.

high summer. sun is shining and the bordello is open to newcomers, the latest being slovenia’s ichisan. a 12” that bulldozes barriers, metamundus seamlessly slips between electro disco, braindance acid and gilded funk. writhing 303 jerks are tempered by warm-hearted key changes for the title track, patterns ducking into playful frolics and lush deeps. and this desire to toy with convention is what characterises the ep. bitter chords are sugared, machine grooves with nods to the dancefloors of the 70s, spaceflights with undertones of chicago, ichisan brings all together in a 12” that is as unique as it is addictive.

as our favourite victims head off to san francisco and their stateside studio of choice known as room g to put the finishing touches to their third lp, we have a beautiful little taster of what to expect in the form of the matching half ep.

jake one’s discography reads like a who’s who list of some of the greatest and most successful artists in the history of hip hop. that’s what makes him truly unique. blurring the lines between the underground and overground. providing sonic backdrops for such incredible emcees as de la soul, scarface, freeway, mf doom, evidence, casual, elzhi, brother ali, and rakim among others, but polishing that same formula and providing records for the likes of drake, rick ross, t.i., 50 cent, snoop dogg, j cole, wale, dom kennedy, and royce 5’9”, jake one is one of the exceptions that has worked equally with both of these sides of the industry. exceptionally. “prayer hands”, a collection of instrumentals created from gospel sources, includes some of those recordings amongst others that all remind you that jake one has pretty much become the go-to producer for any major artist that wants some real hip hop shit on their album. and understandably so.

“yes lawd!”, the much anticipated debut album from nxworries (pronounced “no worries”) is coming october 21 on stones throw records. on “yes lawd!”, anderson .paak plays a theatrically brash version of himself who raps and sings like a 70s superstar and talks shit like a stone cold player. the performance is seeded with details from his life, which has seen a fair share of struggle and hard-won triumph. meanwhile knxwledge weaves a tapestry of sampled bits and live fragments - bass, brass and violin - that smooths everything over, reminding us that despite whatever struggle it took to get here... well, you already know the name: nxworries.

• our next release sees the welcome return of dez williams. since his first ep on the label in 2013, a lot has happened for the welsh wizard. releases for shipwrec, bedouin, new flesh and bass agenda have followed, while his reputation as a killer live act has continued to grow. opening with lumphammer, dez harks back to a time when big, brooding basslines were king. add in whistling keys, tribal percussion and a few well-timed breakdowns, and you have what is surely one of his biggest tracks to date. order to fight takes a more aggressive route - a vocal-fused slab of raw acid, it leads nicely onto the flip, where kabin feeva s wild roaring synths are tuned specifically for the headstrong. work like crazy meanwhile, sees dez return to his roots with a bass heavy cut of crunched electro, doused in a dark filtered vox.

jimi jules is working like a product line. this time with a congenial partner kalabrese aka kalaspatz. two swiss guys penned up in a studio with a lot of red wine… homeless & tuff city kids on remix duties. this is what you get. dope vibes!

four tunes called 4d mind sculpting comprise this 12 inch that fill up the frequency spectrum with its acid lines, chord progressions, and arpeggiation lines. four dimensions do not exist in our reality but if one could imagine the extra dimensional sense, then these four compositions are what i imagine.

special remarks deluxe spot varnishing on sleeve sleeve designed by dj fettburger.in times where a compilation of 12inch bangers passes as an album, telephones vibe telemetry opts for a different approach. without being a departure from his 12inches for sex tags ufo, full pupp and yours truly or his brilliant remix work for josé padilla and vangelis katsoulis, the norwegian producer from bergen who calls berlin his home, hones sound, skills and aesthetics on his debut long-player. vibe telemetry is inspired by the pure feeling of listening to house, disco and techno, prior to knowing what it actually was: ambiguous, euphoric, mystical and melancholic. sonic and physical experiences, which names and origins were yet to be discovered.

rhythm section look to poland once more for two of the most uplifting tracks of the year. earth trax (known for his productions as the phantom & one half of ptaki) and newcomer newborn junior pull two absolute classics out of the bag here that do what they say on the tin. both sax track and flute track centre around ecstatic midi melodies on (you guessed it) saxophone and flute! falling somewhere between the late night deep house excursions of ron trent (circa morning factory era) and more recent retro-leaning breakbeat driven output from the pender street steppers et al, the sax & flute ep is a masterclass in sustain-release. euphoria guaranteed - or your money back!

this ep represents a further manifestation of sound-expression over sound-design. each track has it¡¯s own characteristics. it¡¯s a symbiotic ep which combines vintage analogue gear with live digital effects, everything is done in a moment - manipulating things that you can¡¯t calculate but feel. this live combination is really important that the listener will subconsciously get a psychedelic and emotional bound to electronic music - resembling genres like krautrock. do what you want, it¡¯s the only law - it¡¯s a sentence very dear to the whole les points collective and with this boundery it¡¯s no surprise that audino & barbir have collaboration featured. dilettantes on the rise!

opening cut acido setting the tone perfectly via murky broken rhythms and glitched out bass hits before the latter stages introduce a squelching 303 lead which tails out the rest of the record.what follows and takes a more robust approach rhythmically with a weighty kick drum, shuffling congas and choppy hats lying at the forefront while spiralling bass hits and vocal chops meander around them. opening the flip is nasty(or nylo if there is no way to fix name) which draws on an earth shattering sub bass lead, sparse percussive shots and a subtly bubbling synth stabs.lastly the package is closed with nylo(or koi if there is no way to fix name), an intricately programmed energy fuelled workout featuring reversed bass swells, jazz tinged rhodes melodies and crunchy distorted drums.

wolf dem is a live electronics duo from philadelphia, conceived in the fall of 2012 by two longtime djs who bonded over similar musical backgrounds and a mutual desire to explore the bleeding edges of electronic music. using drawing on a highly diverse range of influences, wolf dem grew from its original concept-what your dreams would sound like if you fell asleep in an old warehouse where someone had left a dancehall station playing on the radio- into a focused aesthetic, at once chaotic and hypnotic, sitting at the intersection of caribbean music, techno, noise, and field recordings. past releases include tracks for compilations on new low and great circles grcr-010, as well cassette releases for vague audio tapes and end result

waxwork records is thrilled to announce the vinyl debut of shock waves. the 1977 film stars horror movie legend peter cushing and is directed by ken wiederhorn (return of the living dead 2). the 100% analog synth score composed by richard einhorn (the prowler, dont go in the house) marks one of the earliest electronic compositions created for film. waxwork is proud to finally release this landmark electronic horror score in vinyl format 40 years after the films initial public release.

after debuting their label with the return of headhunter, the trusik team returns with their second vinyl release from the ever-illusive ruffcut faculty member tremble. tremble has quietly made his presence known with reggae influenced tunes that are simultaneously roughly hewn, yet meticulous detailed in sound design. for trsk002, tremble gives us “too much terror”, which with all the daily attacks on civilians across the nations of the world, seems prescient. what starts out as sound system inspired roller slowly morphs into a technoid fusion of dread sub weight and dub techno chord flourishes. on the flipside, tremble simmers the tempo down to the 130ish range with “bwoy”. dancehall indebted sub detonations output cut vicious shapes while filtered rasta portents gradually build into a technoid climax. two killer sides for the concerning djs! for trsk002, trusik has incorporated artist ben ladieu’s immaculate pen and ink drawing into the overall aesthetic of the release. ladieu’s work is often dense, multi-layered and full of little hidden details that draw comparisons to 80’s diy punk flyers and zeke clough’s contributions to seminal dubstep label skull disco and woe to the septic heart.

one of stockholm’s best-kept secrets is now out of the closet. with no information on the artist, what we get is two rumbling techno tracks with a cause. “grounded theory” builds on a ground loop layered with a bellish sequence, percussion and stabby hits. “furious dub” is a dubby take, made up by filtered chords and a bassline with an offbeat lfo. both tracks are aimed to make you move. it’s your body, you decide!

black box recorders aren’t black, they’re orange. often they are destroyed and they don’t always have all the answers we’re looking for. this recording documents a collision/collaboration between two sound artists, michael bjella (gog) and robert skrzy&#324,,,ski (micromelancolié). this is what survived and this is all we have left, the sounds should tell the whole story.

bring 2 electronic masterminds together in the same studio and you’ll be gifted with a new perspective over what techno sounds like nowadays. super moon, a fresh collaboration between priku and arapu, has chosen liniar for its second appearance on vinyl. side a sets ground for the whole ep, with its incisive kick and raw bassline that carries the dna for the pure blood acid line, a line that carves space for a light infusion of deep sounds. and it’s the percussion that leads the opening on side b, slapped over the outskirts of a labyrinth of industrial samples, to cool down in a slow paced closing cut, filled with hypnotic hi hats and broken drums. expect super moons creations to stomp a dancefloor near you pretty soon!

friends & relations is a freshly minted imprint based in peckham, a neighbourhood that has gone from run-down dump to hipster haven in the space of a few short years. the label s first missive comes from its founder and proud peckham-dweller, ali nebraska gibbs, a producer best known for his missives on rush hour and mister saturday night. it s a predictably strong release, with both -stop playing with my heart- and -keep what ya got- showcasing gibbs skill for turning rubbery disco and soul gems into tasty, club-ready house cuts. he s particularly good at teasing out tracks via judicious use of sampled loops, as the deeper and smokier closer, -rat boogie-, deftly proves.

“music madness” is a brilliant disco track from beckie bell’s rare album, in need of… after highlighting it in an extended version, on the compilation french disco boogie sounds (2015), favorite recordings decided to reissue this killer song on a proper 12 inch single. the package including the original album version and two hot remixes by tom noble and voilaaa.

the french techno party thrower is proud to present its new label called blocaus series. the first release is produced by their talented resident anetha, real icon of the blocaus crew. the ep consists of three driving, hypnotic and banging tracks inspired by 90s rave cuts. the dutch artist stranger contributes a massive remix, making the whole ep hyper effective and catchy. from the trippy and hypnotic interstellar and towards infinity on the a-side, to the straight banging up leftlover love and stranger s remix on the b-side, this debut release is just an incipient illustration of what can be expected from this young and promising label.
