the secret gem of space disco vibes, ichisan will be releasing his new ep via kanto records. first track of the ep, megla (the fog) is some sort of an instrument showcase by the slovenian producer, who used his analog synthesizers deftly to accompany the funk-house strumming of his bass and electric guitars, both played by the artist himself. veter (the wind) is a five-minute-long journey into the depths of unique and captivating musical mind of ichisan, daring to be simple yet invoking majestic feelings. third and fourth track of the ep, planica and yassa are more dancefloor oriented tunes that beam with positivity and energy, both have the potential to become anthems of the summer and beyond. arranged, recorder and mixed in ichisans own studio in ljubljana, the ep megla is brimmed with phenomenal beats that would not disappoint even the pickiest ears.
ichisan s 2017 aperitiv was so good that we ve decided to return for a second helping from his sumptuous album. four choice cuts have been selected and reworked with a specific instrument focus. the harpsicord version of -hotel- keeps the intoxicating melody of the original but allows beats to relax as notes shine with an incandescent brilliance. drums put their feet up for the rhodes version of -modri tunel.- deep stings and lounging lines mingle in this work of smoke swirling seduction. -kozmetika (trumpet version)- dances to a different tune. rich bass is again central but this time brash and bold brass intertwine with funk filled bars. the last waltz arrives with the piano version of -terminal e.- alluring notes ascend, rising and falling against heartwrenching guitar strings for a finale to end this ballroom inspired beauty.
high summer. sun is shining and the bordello is open to newcomers, the latest being slovenia’s ichisan. a 12” that bulldozes barriers, metamundus seamlessly slips between electro disco, braindance acid and gilded funk. writhing 303 jerks are tempered by warm-hearted key changes for the title track, patterns ducking into playful frolics and lush deeps. and this desire to toy with convention is what characterises the ep. bitter chords are sugared, machine grooves with nods to the dancefloors of the 70s, spaceflights with undertones of chicago, ichisan brings all together in a 12” that is as unique as it is addictive.
out of the depths of the cosmic pint comes a disco release from the alps of slovenia. complete with live bass guitars, sparkling arpeggios and swirling drifts of analogue equipment ichisan and nakova have constructed two beautifully stripped back tracks that chug along like a golden steam engine fueled on chanel no.5. with remixes by ruf dug and jonathan krisp.
praised by the likes of bjorn torske, pete herbert, prins thomas, lindstrom and todd terje, slovenian igor skafar aka ichisan releases new 4 track ep on the japan catune imprint. 80 disco boogie! exclusive japan import.
ichisan is slovenian igor skafar, and igors trademark sound is heavenly electronic blissed spaced out house with a sick amount of grooves layerd in. fab earlier releases on the grand airtight and unter the shade labels tell musical tales of this. and so it went that hoppsa fascinatd us yet againy with its mesmerizing 80s synth hook that you want to simply lock in and play away all day and night while kristina is an unmistakably philly affair with an edge, and edge, that means deep depth and a serious build between the woobly - and that is what we like! not being able to decide which one to favour, eventually, we released both. heres to you! kai & thomas, sept 2014
another bit of fantastic space disco by slowenian producer ichisan. comes with a acid drenched monster of a remix by off key hat and a super deep take by walter jones of dfa and westbound fame. heavy package for the open air season. summer bummer!
rare wiri strikes back with a cosmic disco travel to the end of time (and to the dancefloor too!). the crew of the starship are formed by ichisan (airtight, eskimo, solardisco), ilya santana (balihu, tirk, permanent vacation,…) and the head of rare wiri, rayko, with forthcoming releases in soundscape and eskimo. space disco vol.1 is a great compilation of tracks aimed to move your body and mind into the last frontier of the universe. get ready to be transported to our ship!
after the much-lauded altair nouveau 12 inch, released in association with dfa, solardisco returns with a fine three track ep from the slovenian boy wonder igor skafar aka ichisan. space patrol is a slice of lindstrom-inspired disco genius , robots from above nods to an italo influence while atanamamo is aimed square at the dancefloor with early support from the likes of aeroplane and pete herbert among others. with releases on eskimo, airtight and rare wiri already under his belt, a debut album (along with co-producer ule nakova) is due out early 2010 on nang, however, not before another release on airtight (with remix from bjorn torske no less), one on jisco/under the shade and a remix of legendary disco outfit space. expect to see/hear much more from ichisan in the very near future!
its time for the second airtight release from slovenian based ichisan (aka igor skafar). after some fine releases on the eskimo and solardisco labels our man is back. the cunningly titled full bet ep brings us a fine remix from his last offering on airtight as well as two new quality laden tracks.

welcome to the second release on a new record label, real balearic. we are record label based in ibiza and london. we were set up by the team who brought you the world famous real ibiza series of compilations and released the very first cafe del mar compilation. we are passionate about music and in particular music with a thread that runs to the musical sounds of ibiza and the balearic islands. whilst we may chill out with the best of them it is not what we are all about. balearic techno, balearic disco, ambient soundscapes, classical interludes, sun-drenched chords, sunset grooves, moon-washed rhythms, and just about anything that grabs us.
busier than ever with their cocktail damour label and parties, releases north, west and south we once again bring you the sounds of unicorns and rainbows(doing the disco)with discodromo aka giacomo and giovanni. viaggio verso pegaso in original form and (from the top of the dromos wishlist) a fresh rework by ichisan & nakova backed up by a slightly re-arranged and arp-ed up version of >numero uno< by yours truly. enjoy!
proper heat slid onto the nangsphere last year with their nifty >we are ready< ep. they certainly were… good reception all around and some fine plaudits. fast forward on 6 months and we are really pleased that the follow up >move ep< hits the streets. proper heat are from lithuania and are made up of martin virgin, saxtone and some fine vocals from karolis ramoska. laid-back, accessible disco house is the order of the day with this ep. we have two finely voiced tracks. dulcet tones and catchy songs abound with karolis doing a fine job in the voice department. lead track >the move” is mid tempo groover. mixes from nang label new-long-found-friend james bright and label stalwart (and supertop photographer) ichisan… you are always a subject when you are in the same room as this guy…. snap snap snap. james grooves it up with tight synthy bass and ichisan gets electronic and rolling. you can check out the video for >the move< on youtube and our home page too. the equally able >get ready< also makes a strerling appearance on the ep. another fine disco groovoid song. all in all the package overflows with extra dubs and instrumentals. bountiful disco abounds.
stunning new package with a deep, melodic and belearic minded nu disco track by maria basanov and remixes from ilya santana (balihu), who adds some strings for that special kind of magic, nick cachona with a faster dubed out take aiming right at the floor and a italo funk rework by ichisan.
billy bogus kehrt mit seinem remix-album night movie (the remake) zurück zu nang. wie der name andeutet, ist es eine komplette re-kontextualisierung des letztjährigen brillianten >night movie< albums durch die augen einiger seiner lieblings disco-talente, darunter billy selbst, der eine handvoll der re edits beisteuert. ausserdem mit dabei: kid who, luminodisco, kael misko, brunito, discodromo, enzo ponzio, the heels of love u.v.a.
after his slo-mo disco debut, the >terror island< 12 inch, pizzico records founding father billy bogus returns to nang with an eagerly awaited full length, named >night movie<. as the name suggests, this is one for the night crawlers. >night movie< is an exercise in twilight disco propulsion, rich with fuzz, funk, world sounds and sci-fi tendencies
nang dives straight into the ibiza spirit with the second volume of their infamous beach disco compilation, in anticipation of this years holiday season. sun, sea sand and laid-back vibes are aplenty with this lean selection of sun kissed disco, mixed to perfection live by the slovenian masters sare hevlicek and ichisan.
following on from our ludicrous but well-received sci-fi covers album >from the stars volume 1< in 2010 we thought it was time for a sequel. cue the hyper-driven >from the stars volume 2<, an album full of disco and synthy-themed cover versions from obscure and not-so-obscure science fiction. we must be out of our interstellar minds...
as nang completes its first two years on the planet things are going pretty well. we are certainly not getting rich in financial terms but the love of the music and plaudits are warming our souls to the core. along the way we have also managed to work with some amazing artists and introduce some mighty-fine new ones to the world so it is with great pleasure that we bring you the 2nd installment of our array series. it is a stock-take of the best nang tunes from the past year, some previews on future hits and some tracks we just had to release.
