new yorks matuss returns with the eighth release on her absence seizure imprint this september, comprising three originals from the ukrainian born artist. julia matuss, better known as simply matuss has been steadily carving out a name for herself over the past decade, initially finding her feet as a prominent dj in the ukrainian scene she grew up in before a move to new york saw thing progress and the launch of her absence seizure imprint shortly followed. now eight releases deep the imprint has piqued the interested of dj s such as d julz, dj deep, derek plaslaiko, twr72 and beaner. taking the lead on the package is fairy dust setting the scene via warbling rhodes chords, raw dub sweeps and a pulsating low-end drive before a spaced out, sinuous resonant synth lead ebbs and flows throughout the focal point of the composition. baelfire follows and strips things back to raw percussive feel, employing thunderous claps, a weighty kicks and sweeping filtered sample as the foundation before the latter half of the record works in a frenzied acid-tinged hook. faramant then closes the package with an amalgamation of organic percussion, natural bass licks and glitchy percussive chimes which all subtly evolve and retract throughout.

limited edition remastered reissue of an obsure italian balearic disco song produced and arranged by victorio pezzolla the same man behind the project -asso - don t stop- that was a big hit during early 80s in the n.y.c. underground clubs, regularly played by larry levan at paradise garage and by david mancuso at loft. the plus on this limited edition reissue is that the production is directly handled by the former producer to obtain a more accurate sound compared from the first release.

...and in the end, not a great deal is known about the spanish duo futuro. the saga begins with the discovery of a cache of test pressings deep within the shelves of a very dusty record shop near the plaza del toros de valencia. as is the case with these things there was no promo sheet or any other information outside of three clues etched into the run-out groove: futuro, jollyman, mcmlxxxvii. through deduction and reasoning it was soon realised that jollyman was a short lived italian record label that closed it s doors in 1987. there were rumours for a while that jollyman was a mafia wedding gift to a music enthused female family member, but as the journey continued it became slightly more likely that this was a tax write-off for it s owners, as the label itself was never very successful, and was more likely an afterthought rather than a full on passion project. that is not to say that there were not gems hidden within it s small catalogue, most notably from noted library musician, composer and arranger alessandro signoretti, without whose help this release would not be presently in front of you. alessandro s assistance led us to the infamous hafenklang studio in hamburg, germany. the very same studio used by boytronic to record their classic lp the continental (some of the same dx presets can easily be heard on both albums) and despite the insane amounts of musicians that have passed through those doors the owner clearly remembered the duo and finally the mysterious futuro had names: javier c rayón and raúl láynez.

too late for the italo boom, and too early for the sonido de valencia craze, the recordings of futuro have sat on master tapes since 1987 finally awaiting their much deserved audience. bordello a parigi are more than proud to present this lost late slow-mo synthesizer italo masterpiece onto the world.

another very fine release in asthmatic kitty s library catalog music series, this album comes from william ryan fritch, a prolific film composer, sound recordist and multi-instrumentalist from oakland, ca. fittingly, music for honey and bile takes on the character of a cinematic score, collecting a number of varied instrumentals that show an incredible range to fritch s diverse talents. in addition to the composition and production, fritch performs virtually everything on the album, playing piano, guitars, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, sax, trumpet, marimba, vibraphone and dulcimer to name but a relative few. this is seriously impressive stuff, and chamber pieces such as too anxious to dream , shadows like despondent ghosts and tongues that chatter like pigeons sound like the work of a large ensemble rather than just one man. the variety exhibited on the album is breathtaking too, switching between large-scale productions complete with multilayered strings and percussion to more intimate pieces like eggshells and the manipulated piano drone minimalism of chewed their nails to caustic red pads .

running a label with the ambition to push new and unique voices isn t always an easy task. while finding new artists is about as hard as finding a black t-shirt in berlin, most budding artists seem pressured to conform or mimic the already established, only to be heard. performing under the artist name bleie, oakland resident sarah bly is not one of them. originally hailing from seattle, she indeed works with the mortar of techno form, but uses different bricks altogether. it s a hard sound to articulate, at first, it s almost alienating to ears worn by years in dark clubs. its mercurial, yet still surprisingly club compatible nature makes it an aural tiger balm – it burns and soothes at once. this compositional depth is perhaps a result of bleie s background as a trained pianist and violinist, by which she transmutes the commonly associated tropes of the genre. bleie lets the elements rule over the form, giving the tracks a morphing and unpredictable feel. obviously we were instantly intrigued when stumbling across her music, and now extremely proud to present her vinyl debut certainty is only a feeling . four tracks of unique techno so brimfully suggestive that it s nearly peerless. we can t imagine this leaving anyone unaffected.

welcome -into laniakea-. we are proud to present our first release: -160 mega parsec- as a various artists. different artists to represent the variety of universes we have in our supercluster. with artist on board such as passenger, caseer and voiture, transonic flow and diffuse arc, this is a versatile record. the a1 starts the journey with passenger, the italian artist gives us a spacey and slow electronic track with a moody bassline, perfect to introduce the label style. the a2 is more a bouncy housy acidish track with a weird vocal coming from the french and dutch duo. it drives from the start to the end with groovy bass and low kick perfect to kill a dancefloor. on the other side, you have a dreamy electro track from transonic flow, german duo from hamburg composed of koloman trax and hitekjaz. the b1 is a pure gem with its melodic yet rhythmic lead. they told us it has been club validated! the last track is from no one else than diffuse arc, who searched his tapes and hard drives to send us some unreleased and hidden tracks. the result is a deep and groovy ballad with acid bassline that will suit every music lovers. you got it, -into lanieakea- is all about groove and spacy dreamy tracks. we trully hope you will get touched by the vibe and the love we put into this record.

with the second release noland tracks moves from nigeria to poland: non human persons saturn melancholia is an early song of the polish band based on guitar & voice + processor, recorded in warsaw some years ago. with their remix gebrüder teichmann turned the song into a sacral techno anthem. a deep and dark trip with nico in the heart and mdma in the blood. the b-side features the original track plus a beautiful hand carved image by brenda alamilla.

fourth chapter of the italian label dancing like quagmire. dlq s ever growing family welcomes polish newcomer primo ultimo and italian duo calma (sorry for this records owners and harmonized residents) as remixers. fasten your seatbelts and you ll fly away into a cosmic journey through space and time riding primo ultimo s flight simulator. flight safety instructions: a1 is the title-track born to be an helpful party banger with its uzi-like snares and overwhelming synths. in a2 again the flight simulator but slow down time, thanks to calma s analog arsenal the sound gets deeper and warmer. on the flip side the b1 is azure vibes a clapping tropical house jam with breakbeat reminiscences. the final destination of this trip is the b2 bilbao where equilibrium and melody are king and queen remembering that joy is an electronic thing.

on the prowl appears to be on a roll with its new found artists. following up robotalcos success on the previous otp, giorgio lands himself in anthem territory. the a1 track >more heart< is big, catchy, and totally feel good house vibes with disco styled horn flourishes. the a side inside cut >basement 6d22< takes us near kerri chandler with delayed brassy chord stabbing and long organ pads. flipping the record over reveals a stunning slo mo disco house workout, filled with jam style organ riffs and amazing synth horn parts. for b2 we get a perscription style deep house track with all the right dark drifting chords. excellent release.

die blitzgescheiten punk-soul-brüder melden sich zurück. es geschehen noch zeichen und wunder: schlappe zweieinhalb jahre nach ihrem letzten album -why not?- (2008) legen die sympathischen sonderlinge von superpunk ein neues album vor. nicht nur das: -die seele des menschen unter superpunk- ist das album, das man sich von superpunk (und auch von jeder anderen band) immer gewünscht hätte. die platte ist ein zärtliches und schmunzelndes -fuck you!- an, und jetzt kommt’s: die umstände. die lässigkeit und die größe, sich bei total aus der mode gekommenen musikstilen zu bedienen, die verachtung für die masse und die eliten, die textliche und musikalische autonomie - all das hat auf -die seele des menschen unter superpunk- sein zuhause gefunden. nennen wir es stil: rumpeln und groove, doo wop und 60s punk, angebertum und bescheidenheit schließen sich eben bei superpunk nicht aus. denn die blitzgescheiten genussmenschen sind musterschüler des punks, und dessen erste regel lautet nun mal: du sollst nicht langweilen! produziert wurde das album vom hamburger soulbrother bernd begemann.

the second release in endless illusion s series of split eps comes from marcos cabral & daniel araya and features two tracks from each artist. new york s cabral is known for his experimental idm and techno on labels like l.i.e.s. while daniel araya has recently released an album of acid, techno and industrial on the classicworks label. araya s we almost lost detroit is first and is a truly haunted deep techno cut with sparse acid undulations and a real sense of manic in the rasping synth lines. softer pads in the background only add to the spooky nature of the track. ghost bass is the other araya cut and this one is more up on its toes, with mid tempo kicks down low and wonky chords up top. it s a mind melting tune that trips deep into the night. live at the egg is cabral s first effort and is a lonely and icy techno track that is supple and seductive in its long lines and paddy drums. after getting you into a state of hypnosis, some freaky vocal sounds only add to the unsettling nature of it all later on. cuts & bruises rounds things out in squelchy and depraved techno territory. muted acid stabs are off in the distance as swampy drums suck you in from the front. it s a brilliantly odd tune that close out a fine ep.

june records presents rr hearse - call of oedipus. completed between 1981 and 2013, call of oedipus is a collection of solo works and collaborations of rr hearse with s/m, a.rib and mr. cricket. the tracks were recorded live at concerts on greek university campuses, squats, in studio as well as in rr hearse s bedroom. this mini lp is a never released before document of the greek underground music scene, transferred from cassettes and reel-to-reels s from rr hearse s personal archive. very limited!

it had been four years since juxtaposition, radians last record. chimeric is not a polished album. within the context it is raw, broken, even dark sometimes. steady, multiple rhythms, layered on top of each other disappear into chaos and turn back into discreet structures in the next moment. references of rock music, executed with the precision of a sequencer, mutated, restructured. a lot on this album is about control and the loss of control. the risk of failure. but chimeric is much more free. some of the longer pieces are composed of very different parts and different colours along a continuous timeline. they tend to evolve in a narrative form and are moving through various scenes and surroundings, which is also present in the spacial relationship between the instruments.

devon lyon, born devon bailey, moved to kingston in the 70 s to live in trenchtown with his mum, his sister and his brother named dennis. dennis was working in the new kingston area on a construction site. dennis met a friend who worked at the construction site and that friend was the lead singer from the group the chantells. . dennis told the chantells lead singer that his brother was singing at home like he was singing everyday on construction work site. the chantells lead singer told dennis to bring his brother devon. one day, devon came with his brother devon and they met the three members of the group the chantells. they became friends. devon started to verse with them in the evening and they really like him style.
