the second vinyl release from betyar records is butter solkimÆs savaria ep. which is the fifth in the row of the publications. there are four tracks on the vinyl: two original versions and two remixes by miklos vajda. the tracks are still very harmonious. deep and a little melancholic. anyone who ever listens to this vinyl will be a part of a special journey. the release is a worthy offspring of the first vinyl published by betyar records titled the sun breaks over the mountains by miklos vajda.
in a time when everybody gets a virtual stage to speak out about anybody at anytime. sharing moments in dark places together with people known and unknown while completely immersing into the music seems to be a valuable anchor. a (hopefully) phone-free and algorithm-free space with no need for judgments and justifications builds the realm for a respectful togetherness. night defined recordings provides a soundtrack for those precious hours by putting together two thoughtful dub tracks by fred kreeger. each of them reinterpreted in a very different approach by fellow berliners pablo mateo and ron wilson. enjoy this beautiful piece of limited hand-stamped wax!

ikeaboy is the intermittent project from damian tubbritt. who first debuted the moniker more than ten years ago. it s been a long while since any fresh material from this deep cover curio of oddball techno hit wax. but now wicked bass have done the honourable thing and gathered up this excellent trio of tracks. shape memory plies a funky line in squelchy bass and jangling delay trills. while living in the future opts for a more mysterious. pad soaked trip into spooked out electro. on the b-side dayna sports some forthright drum machine beats and epic sweeps of synths that only serve to confound any expectations you might have about the sound of ikeaboy.
moto music round off a cracking year with this essential collection of deep diving techno finery from bigeneric. one of marco repetto s many long-lasting aliases. the swiss polymath is a dab hand at wringing illustrious machine soul out of his machines. whether it be crafty. head-snagging rhythms or plush and expressive threads of synth work. and on this double pack you get an abundance of both. with one foot firmly in the heritage of detroit and the other gazing into the stellar orbit of the finest european techno dreamers. this is elegant. thoughtful electronic music of the highest order.
so. after a little break we’re back with a new release. this time we’re joined by the multi-talented production powerhouse that is swarm intelligence (aka simon hayes). landing heavy with four bruising techno cuts that each find their own unique way of taking your head off. ear017 is a bumpy journey through darker club flavours. ‘flatlands’ opens things up. reminiscent of the type of marching. granite-heavy brum techno of old – this is minimal in construction but maximum in its impact. move forward to ‘ground up’ where demonic. dissonant keys take the lead above a rattling midrange that sounds like a corrugated roof ready to fly off. opting for cleaner. elastic drum patterns on ‘tingla’. hayes swaps tense for dense. with a loud take on steppy techno. that’ll please fans of some of blawan’s earlier work. ‘skitz’ starts out an a more dub tip with a wailing. paranoia inducing hook and snaking rhythms. eventually joined by more hard-hitting broken kicks. leading us comfortably into oblivion.
as we move forward. corseque records introduces a concept which we simply call faction. a series of joint releases between artists from different corners of our beloved scene and label head ascorbite. for the third vinyl we are pleased to have with us berlin based producer mike wall (wall music/wall music limited).
the visionary from detroit. terrence dixon. is back to 30d records with an exquisite pack of vanguard tastefully built on techno. this fifth chapter of the exoplanets series is powered with two original cuts and a pair of remixes.
the homonymous title track. “digital ladder”. sinks us to a hypnotic state conducted by a dreamy and evocative sequence. the big dasha rush takes over the message and reframes it getting percussive expressiveness and savoir faire on her remix.
b side starts with the second dixon’s proposal. “this is a test”. same artistic tools. different discourse. shape and result. on this track. experimentalism gets us higher with a fanciful cyclic pattern. garnished with sporadic ascensions. that streams on a subtile bassdrum. 30drop takes the relay to carry up the message to his own stylistic universe constructing a fine solid remix.
“digital ladder” is an abstract and immersive trip to some place beyond the consciousness that relies into the core of the vanguard dancefloor. you can’t miss it!
the good thing. if we talk about real artists is: their music never gets old. titonton duvante presents another essential record on his new classic series. this time it s the -furity ep- which came out on the legendary multiplex label 1998. all tracks are re-mastered and the music couldn t sound fresher than today!

the ninth installment on tabla records comes from none other than dj/producer. multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer. alexkid. the former parisian turned berliner is without a doubt one of the most respected producers in the game. his stripped back. elegant and dubby sound-constructions have previously found their way on to labels such as desolat. fuse. cadenza and underground quality. now alexkid has supplied tabla records with two of these very unique tunes. his reset-ep shows the kids preferences for the dubbier and deeper sides of electronic music. both originals - fu-man-chu and reset - are delightfully bass driven. london based archie hamilton - owner of moscow records and key member of fuse london - rounds up this three-track-ep with an uplifting and stupendous remix. that can be described as a typical hamilton-groove.

another must have and sought after moodymann release available for the first time since its initial release in 2001. the telephone ep was the third in the limited forevernevermore 12” series following don’t you want my love and in my wagon. the a side is a remake of the title track from forevernevermore and in classic moodymann style the original is presented in a different context. combining all the essential elements of the initial groove and adding a variety of new sounds and effects. we are offered a totally fresh take on this stone cold moodymann classic. on the b side the telephone is a funked up slightly retro jazz inspired groove incorporating complex drum programming and chilled keys which hints at the direction moodymann was to take his productions in on his later albums silence in the secret garden and black mahogani ii

tr one return with 4 very different tracks recorded in one take at their studio in the irish southeast. a month has passed uses a dubbed out aesthetic merging influences from uk bass and detroit using shimmering melodic progression. the boutique of never ending dreams works towards a synth laden dreamlike peak. the printer duly merges playful chicago drums with an organic chord structure to create a head nodding funk. finishing the ep is road to the sea . a pensive sway of dubby sonics masked in a fog of reverb. tr one are an established name in the irish electronic music community and are known for their energetic and engaging performances as djs. they have received critical acclaim for the raw soulful productions from their studio in hometown carlow. ireland. they have gained respect for their ability to deftly move between the lines of genres with a strong sense of adventure and connection with detroit/chicago/dublin machine soul. from this they have released music on lunar disko. apartment and fine art recordings. with the strains of the us midwest never far from sonic influence. they have worked in a range of styles from old movie soundtrack disco with new jackson to punishing techno sharing wax space with the phantom planet outlaws.
having cruised around labels such as la luna. tusk wax and most tellingly back to the balearics. maricopa has already left a trail of smooth-sailing breadcrumbs behind him. and now he drops anchor in a harbour which may yet prove to be his spiritual home. is it balearic? is a question that hardly needs to be asked when you re drifting out to sea on the blissful tones of benthos or reveling in the expressive ripples of deer. but it s safe to say these jams would go down smooth with a mediterranean sunset and an aperol spritz.
keeping things on a strictly low key tip comes the second release from instinct. serving up nothing but razor-sharp uk garage for those who love the deeper side of el b et al. together kicks proceedings off with a nagging 4x4 bump and some beautifully mellow melodies. while motion heads into slightly moodier territory without losing that crafty beat programming nous. voodoo is a more bugged out jam with some heavy processing and a preference for atmospheric touches throughout. realise keeps the quality up once more. rounding the ep off with yet more future-minded goodness that should get all switched on selectors reaching for these instinct 12inches again and again.
lie of the land debuts on porn wax with an appropriately subterranean take on the acid house formula. amping up the delay feedback and weaving accomplished waves of melody in between the floor-minded components of the music. chapparal is especially deep diving. tapping into a late night mood for backroom beauties and beasts to sway rhythmically to. navigator has sharper edges. but is no less hypnotic and subliminal in its approach. the porn wax stamp is a trusted destination for left of centre tackle for stranger dancefloors. and lie of the land understands their unique vibe innately.

fleisch is thrilled to present the debut of stockholm’s dissociō... modus trā...ns. aka dmt. featuring four cuts of some of the purest. unadulterated acid ever to hit the streets since orange sunshine. in the words of terence mckenna himself. sampled in the opening title track. “dmt is the strongest hallucinogen there is…”. and dmt certainly hold true to their name as a pair of 303s weave a mind-altering journey through multiple dimensions of being. driven and dirty techno beats form the rhythmic foundation while esoteric vocal samples lead the proceedings through the tibetan book of the dead in “origin/destination” and “bardo thō...dol”. and onward into the metaphysical mantra of “trans dimensional”.
perc trax completes its duo of “bitter music” remix eps with this three tracker that aims directly for the dance floor. opening up proceedings is dax j. who has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last few years and who here serves up an irresistible take on “unelected” fueled by the driving energy his productions and sets have become famous for. next up stroboscopic artefacts boss lucy layers shifting textures over popping kick drums for a version of “wax apple” that perfectly blends form and function. lastly matrixxman. himself another of the key break out artists of the last few years. takes control of “rat run” and morphs in into a rolling drum track built on rolling toms and topped off with dubbed out elements of perc’s original mix.
perc’s third album “bitter music” pushed his sound to further extremes than ever before when released in april of this year. winning widespread acclaim and launching a worldwide tour to support it. now the album returns with two eps of interpretations for a diverse selection of remixers most of whom are new to perc trax. this first ep of remixes takes in head front panel’s constantly building. pulsating version of deep album moment “the thought that counts”. hodge’s bristol meets london meets berlin stepping take on “chatter” and a screwfaced broken version of album opener “exit” by rising blackest ever black star pessimist.
a diverse techno e.p. each track suitable for a specific time. place & audience.
everything’s possible. nothing has to be. probably best describes the current selection. while artik brutally transforms the industrial into the techno format. chris moss acid and spaceinvasion ride the 303. the former combines analog-synths with repetitive peaktime-techno. while spaceinvasion interprets this through a sluggish. yet no less brutal. flow. lastly. lucindo scatters nuances of trance. rave!

live recorded on 2 track revox at koprod studio zürich in 1982 chapter 3 of mr. thoma having fun with the serge modular music system and tms synthesizer. accompanied by knut remond on drums. proto-techno monster lp.
from ernst thoma s secret vaults. originally recorded in 1983 at koprod studio zürich. mr. thoma having fun with the serge modular music system and tms synthesizer. accompanied by knut remond on drums. proto-techno monster lp.
the pieces were created as structured improvisations using a monophonic synth (primarily) along with a yamaha dx7 (borrowed from a friend) and possibly a guitar. recording was made on an older otari mx5050 1/2 8 track. mixing was done on a tascam m-50 console and a revox a77 1/4 machine. i recall the project happened in two bursts: i did half of it in september 85. then i finished up and edited the album together in december 85. i dont really recall making copies for anyone. i think i played it for a dozen people and that was it. just forgot about it. i remember jeff ament from pearl jam (green river back then) came by while i had it playing on my home stereo. he asked what it was and said he liked it. surprised me a little. with regard to overall aesthetic: i like the sound of machinery. but i enjoy the fragility of human error and human instinct. i like to put things into motion then climb aboard and drive. i can’t play an instrument (in the classical sense) for the life of me. so i’ve always just played things that are mostly choice rather than a convolution of style and technique. i guess you call that the brian eno school of rock.
“don’t stay still” is the debut ep of trim records in amsterdam. we chose amsterdam because we believe in the vibe of this fantastic city and the growing underground culture. the label comes from the passion for music. vinyls. and freedom to have fun dancing around the world from raves from 1990 to today. the 180 grams vinyl ep is made up of 4 minimal-size tek-house tracks. our first artist is tijn. a great music and sound professional from uk. proprietary of label house wax and deep edition. with recent label releases as: memora. bodyparts. isgud and many more... ep s remix has been entrusted to the rising star of bucharest romania funk e following up some great releases like raum ... musik. adult only and kurbitz.
those who physically suffer from dopamine depletion seek ways to experience maximized pleasure. hong kongs hyper everything enfant terrible. s.y. delivers a much darker complex ep than his two previous offerings under a new alias. a creative therapy of sorts apparently dealing with substance abuse and unstable mental conditions which luckily for everyone translates into more leftfield dancefloor gold with the brilliantly nondescript $ lfo and weirdo power drive of the title track on a side. followed on the flip by a surprisingly beautiful ode to concrete music. and a deeply haunting field recording piece that closes a perfectly round ep... or does it? sleeve artwork by matt damhave

a prison of predictions is the first lp from the ownlife label (excepting seld series. focused in pressing back gems from two decades ago) and also by the person behind it. leiras.
on it. the producer showcases a compendium featuring the characteristic sound of the platform. pushing ahead cyclical techno together with tracks that evoke the persistence of remembrance. echoing the preterit sound of sandwell district and renewed sound formulas from almost two decades of uk electronica. ambient brush strokes outline soundscapes surrounded by analogue sounds that share space with more direct and snappy songs. a scape on the frenetic side of electronica with an idm-leaning end closes the equation.
substantiating his versatility as a producer with the label’s previous 10 titles and undoubtedly confirmed on this record. leiras offers a consequent closing for the first stage of ownlife. which finishes on this point in order to look for new sound structures for the next transmissions.
this lp has been created in berlin during the last months using mixed recording techniques with the purpose of conceiving a narrative thread that gives coherence to the release. without doubt an inflection point in leiras’ discography.
the new zealand - detroit connection. electro empire presents the auckland based duo go nuclear and three new versions of their hit song techno world off their debut ep on bass agenda recordings.
despite the undenieable influence from early detroit electro classics by the likes of model 500. cybotron or aux 88. this well and originally crafted production offers catchy old school vibes with a powerful modern twist. go nuclear!
bringing the remix here is detroit s filthiest (aka dj nasty) - a true detroit talent who has been keeping it real since the nineties. his name alone is a seal of quality.
night blind is richard fearless second release on drones white label series. the title track coalesced in the early hours of the morning as diffuse. turneresque lights glimmered across the thames and the container was pounded by a storm. unnerving and melancholic yet with a glimmer of light. this is fearless at his best. on the b side is cancan. with xaviers spiritual acid head. kenichi iwasa. on percussion duties. this is one for peak time body shaking. both tracks were recorded and mixed at the metal box by chris blakey and produced by richard fearless. stamped and numbered edition of 300 vinyl
american electro rap legend kyper checks in with the german label ground control.
produced by the brazilian bass connection (bbc) aka heliobranco and tom oliver. the new song let the bass come out clear delivers a shameless old school miami bass orgy with heavy 808 beats. 80s style rapping. vocoder vocal bits and fresh scratching.

“i’m not at all sorry. now that he’s dead.
he took my cheese and ate it in my stead.
he’s punished by fate - god. you’ve avenged me.”
“the fox and the raven” is the maiden release for denise rabe’s self titled label. conceived to be the channel thru which her personal. unfiltered. haunting sound will find it’s body and voice.
exemplifying this with the 3 cuts on “the fox and the raven”: driven. hypnotic. techno with a chasing sense of urgency. balanced with eeire lamenting melodies. perfectly fitting the tales of lore chosen to illustrate each release like a volume in an odyssey.
concluding this chapter. a limited pressing of 300 reproductions serigraphed. embossed and scented. echoing how like fables. music. occupies a tangible moment in the listeners life and space.
future music from new kanada s frontman adam marshall. sometimes its hard to categorize certain tracks and these ones are from outa space. it reminds me a lot of the time when we all discovered the first playhouse records from isolee. losoul and soylent green. magic moments which at first listen maybe not seem to work on the dancefloor because they are too challenging. but if you find the right moment they gonna work wonder…tip!
the third instalment of the bodybuilder quartet has arrived. and once again label boss nachtbraker adds an exciting name to the quartet series manifesto. moscow native kuzma palkin previously released a double 10 and a double 12 on quality russian imprint gost zvuk. but is also known for his productions under his audiocad (between us) and kausto (shanti records) noms de guerre. make sure to check those out if you havent already. here. kuzma serves up an ep as deep as they come. with greasy. industrial and glitchy sounds floating on steady beats. title tune macho culture is a peaktime roller for darker club spaces with its deep melodic stabs. slapping snares and a haunting synth. also on the a is muscle mass increase. which is cut from the same haunting cloth but comes with an edgy saw synth that will have the punters reach for the lazers. flip over for ?proper sauna chill. which comes with a thumping kick. beautifully crafted sound design details and an undeniable groove. closing kuzmas quartet series debut ep is krepkiye bitsepsky. another showcase of amazing sound design and warped stabs floating over a steady break beat and groovy bass line to round things off nicely.
