kreattones fourth instalment is finally here and it is, of course, a blast! after jesse bru’s triumphant ep on our label, we ve changed the formula and went after the obscure talent of less known artists to put together a four-track various artists compilation. the goal was to offer a diversified record to our beloved followers, without disregarding the label s vision, and the truth is... we couldn’t be happier with the final result. andy book, the label owner, lazer mike, the wonder-kids and fragoso the perfectionist came up with their finest house cuts, both joyful and mental, that make this v.a. a rare gem.

luv dancin’ is an absolutely essential record. the underground solution was one of the monikers for roger sanchez, one of the most prolific house music producers in the 90s. this 1990 anthem luv dancin is a nyc deep house benchmark. based on arthur russell’s disco classic is it all over my face and with elements of the bottle interspersed with a deep, rolling garage bassline, dreamy keys and pads, the “s” man crafted a timeless piece of dance music that still inspires today and is often imitated yet obviously never bettered! a side is the remix version featuring jasmine on vocals, while the b side is the sought after “in deep mix” from the original 12”. as with all our ny house classics, first time available on 7”.

with the masters at work name under contract elsewhere at the peak of their career, kenny dope and louie vega had little choice but to work under other names for their strictly rhythm projects. hardrive became popular, largely thanks to the iconic ‘deep inside’ whose vocal hook (from, barbara tucker’s ‘beautiful people’) and bass line helped made the track become one of house music‘s most memorable hits. “sometimes a record just manages to capture and distill the true essence of what this is all about and deep inside is one such record, it bears all the hallmarks of golden era masters at work, all the signposts of what was happening in nyc s clubs in the early to mid 90 s were there within it s grooves. you know a record is good when it s still being, quite literally, hammered nearly 25 years later”. it’s no surprise even kanye west would sample this classic to make another chart topping track! this one s a straight up essential for any self-respecting house music aficionado. availble for the first time as a 7”. original mix on the a, dub on the flip. you know what to do!

“running through with the sadness” represents hungry march band’s first full-length studio album in over a decade, and their first pressed to vinyl. the record is an explosion of irreverent energy and a veritable lesson in spastic instrumental dance music. it was meticulously produced over the course of years, indicating a forward step in the evolution of the radical street brass sound.

ploy returns for his third solo timedance record, the 14th release on the label. the london producer is in absolute banger mode for this one, finding his stride with these frenetic gunfinga-ready assaults, both as fun and playful as they are playful and rude. artwork by danielle doobay.

bangers and ash is back. the rough & ready series of records that spawned the wider styles upon styles imprint has always challenged artists (clay wilson, certain creatures, best available technology to name a few) to work their sonics for both the club (bangers) and the clouds (ash), now welcoming contakt to the family in 2018. a native of michigan and a long-time resident of brooklyn, contakt cofounded the boundary-pushing club night turrbotaxr with previous releases on argot, icee hot and second shift and detritus feature on the ash side with a spacious wash of atmospheric analog synth constructs, while shut off notice and ndo are bangers that divebomb deep into classic detroit techno. each record has been screen-printed, stamped and stickered by contakt and sus, with mixing by phil moffa and mastering by josh bonati.

in the studio prototype 909 was a group that rarely agreed on a clear idea of exactly what they were trying to accomplish. the entire project was an experiment, and every time they hit record there was nothing better for them to do than to just try stuff. whenever it came time to put together an album they would go through what they had recently done and nd the tracks that seemed to fit together well, or that at least sounded like they were made by the same group. that left on the cutting room foor some really amazing worst that somehow just didnt fit their goals at the time. at schmer, we remember. p-909 leftovers have schmer written all over them. these four tracks were all recorded live in the studio in between their three studio albums 93-97. brenecki ( half of ontal ) provided his remix inspired by one of them. hyperdrive and -datafash- were recorded shortly after acid technology was released in 93. they come from the -lets make acid technology vol 2 approach-. that would have made a really cool record had they done it but they decided on making transistor rhythm instead. anoisenyc aka the tracs that dietrich hates is what you get when you let jason go nuts on a doepfer maq-16 ( they never made that mistake again ). bobo is possibly the most prototypical p-909 tracks ever: it took three guys making their own tracks simultaneously almost ignoring what the others were doing but somehow mixing them into a flow to make this one, but it all comes together nicely in the end. its amazing that they never released it before. you ve enjoyed the wait, now enjoy your new prototype 909 while it still is new!

cong burn continues to exercise one of the most promising instincts for future-minded music on this, their third release. it s surprising they haven t done more previously, considering the maturity of their curation, but either way the quality remains at an all time high here, leading in with some light and liquefied 4/4 sonics from chekov before pirouetting into one of duckett s illustrious abstractions around the techno blueprint. label regular lack is back on side b with the stern and punchy -track 3,- and then haddon finishes the record off with -anabiosis,- a densely textured, slow creeping trip of a track.

imre kiss presents crisis 001. the budapest-based artist ushers in the next phase of the party and dj collective that has been reshaping the hungarian music landscape since its inception in early 2016. the label’s inaugural release, ad astra, represents the fruits of a collaboration that has been a long time in the making. kiss, fresh off the back of his evolutionary strangers ep on mörk, partners with compatriot norwell, who is following up a prolific 2017 – one in which helena hauff named his odd ep her favourite record of the year.

the 1990 s was an incredible decade for techno - especially if you bought the releases being pressed and then shipped globally on a weekly basis out of birmingham in the uk.

nicky b, the artist behind the simple elements moniker and resident dj from long running techno mecca, the house of god, has decided to re:release the original double pack on his new label, prisoner of sound records.

this double pack is a collection of the first tracks nicky ever wrote and is an insightful glimpse into the mind of an artist drawing upon a pool of influences, taking in jazz, funk, soul, electro, chicago house and detroit techno - you can listen to the influences at work throughout the six tracks, transporting your senses off world, into the deep realms and forgotten worlds of a vintage future.

originally released in 2015 on cassette by g.e.d. soul records. now for the first time on 1lp vinyl on kingunderground, remastered and limited to 500 copies. the album is a collection of delightfully smoked out, library inspired instrumentals. following in the footsteps of their highly enjoyable 2011 debut. “return of” combines many shades of many moods into a tight record that finds a nice balance between strange hype arrangements and super chill ‘couch-lock’ inducing slow jams. it embarks on a cinematic soul journey from the opening note, through the interlude, straight to the closing credits.

for our next excursion, we’re off to the library. in search of library records that is - you know the type, the crazy rare records used for soundtracks and such and such. we have a sick selection of synthed-up beats and pieces chopped together by one earl jeffers, making the most out of his international library digging card* (*not a real thing).
for those that don’t know, cardiff’s earl jeffers is one half of darkhouse family, regular family at our sister label, first word, on which they released their debut album “the offering” late last year. earl is a prolific producer in his own right, also releasing over the years under the aliases chesus and metabeats on labels like mcde, fat city and local talk, collaborating with artists like byron the aquarius, action bronson and kamaal williams / henry wu, turning his hand ably to house, hip hop, jungle, jazz and more. all this in addition to running his own label, mélange records.
a dedicated digger and record collector first and foremost, earl has provided us with a quadruple set of heavyweight stuttery sci-fi boom bap. in earl’s words: “this record was mostly inspired by my penchant for the more electronic / synthesized jams, mostly replayed from the original compositions then thrust in to 2028 and beyond….”

in the era of the brand, kutiman is an anomaly. a musician who’s a video artist who’s a producer who’s an animator who’s also the unwilling star of one of israel’s most successful recent documentaries, his every record contrasts with whatever it was that came before. but that’s fundamental to his appeal: no one, not even him, really knows what to expect next. unsurprisingly, therefore, ‘don’t hold onto the clouds’ is no different, which means it’s like nothing he’s ever done. most artists would acknowledge this by working under pseudonyms, but kutiman is – yes, you’ve guessed it – different again. “if i changed my name every time i wanted to do something new,” he laughs, “i think i’d have too many names!”

peter kadergard has been active in the helsingborg (sweden) electronic music scene since the early 1990 s. he was involved in various collaborations during the 90 s and appeared on a few cassette releases under the names grodans fodelsedag, marchentraum and mannix system. peter released his first rittowski record on the borft sub label djuring phonogram in 2004. apart from this electro project peter is a member of the bands goz mongo alliance and inyurmania, who has made a few releases on the ufo mongo, pripuzzi and skiboy record labels. this is new electro!

the songs, the words, the melodies in this album, they all matter to me because they represent the real time outworking of my own trauma, pain and discovery of joy and peace. but there is a life inside this record equally important to all of the above, which is also trying to be communicated. it’s almost like how listening to a song in a foreign language doesn’t hinder you from absorbing what the song is communicating. in listening closely as i expose myself to myself, that is where the art is. maybe every time we have the courage to unabashedly be true in ourselves, the courage to do the same is received by someone else.

death to techno is a new, futuristic ep of >the white screen<, ever before into a world of ruff beats, dark electronics and analog effects. musical producer dori sadovnik, the sound genius from red axes, produced this ep at garzen studios, diving together with the whites into a new world of unknown pleasures and sins. a mind and body bender between techno rhythms and broken rock n roll tapes, between the dancefloor and a campfire, between darkness and light - the new recordings are asking big questions about past and future, vintage and electro, about the screen and about the white. death to techno, the main track that opens the record, is also treated in a wildly remix version of the red axes pair. the cover of the album hellenic plasticine party was created by multidisciplinary artist oren fisher, who has been accompanying the band since its inception. produced by: dori sadovnik musicians: stav ben shahar, drums noa ayali, chello liat raz, vocals nimrod goldfarb, contra bas shay landa organs

full disclosure...i changed the entire release schedule to jam this record in this year. when you listen, hopefully can see why. from getting the demos during my breakfast, the record was agreed and in the schedule by the time i’d finished my dinner. currently if you cut austin ato i believe he’ll bleed an amazing record. this record swings between a peak-time hands in the air pink loveheart vibe, hot and heavy classic sample based house, and some real basement orientated machine-made jacking house. its like a quadruple a side release, and i personally find it impossible to pick a favourite on here.

as the title suggests, joakim recorded this new album last year at studio venezia, the installation/sculptural ensemble/recording studio created by xavier veilhan for the prestigious 2017 venice art biennale. built inside the french pavilion & inspired by the grotto-like merzbau by kurt schwitters, studio venezia had dozens of artists create and record there over the 6 months of the biennale (from chassol to brian eno, from joakim to sebastien tellier), invited by xavier veilhan himself with the help of co-curator christian marclay. with an impressive collection of rare instruments from medieval horns to rare modular synths (baschet crystals and percussions, a buchla, a clavinet...), studio venezia was an amazing creative playground for the adventurous musician. those instruments were captured by a team of sound engineers in the best possible way thanks to nigel godrich’s (beck, radiohead...) mobile studio loaded with state of the art vintage recording gear.

following a standout appearance on dvs1’s mistress label with his “just pain” track, the man from minneapolis, doubt, returns to don’t be afraid for the first time since 2014’s “poor dog” ep. in the interim he has continued to record on disposable commodities under the doubt moniker, whilst also exploring experimental and ambient sound under the name time heals nothing.
for his most inclusive outing to date, doubt mines the outer limits of minimal house music whilst still maintaining the vibe of alienation and melancholy that characterises his work. the mood of “april” is euphoric and carefree but dig deeper and the fragile beauty also suggests an impending and ominous apocalypse. “what is happening” and “samusex” counterbalance the a-side’s brief suggestion of joy with a mood closer to doubt’s previous work. the title track meanwhile recalls the work of labels like ifach and trelik with a swinging, stripped down dub sound.

the second part of the seltron 400 trilogy on most, trans i bas, sees the group re-embark on their singular journey in search of the essence of the rave. since the first ep in the series – zabawa trwa – came out last year, they have augmented their back-to-back dj sets with a full-on live show, which again fed back into their recording process. the record’s title cut, trans i bas (also available in an earth-shaking drum version) is as uplifting as it is spontaneous, complete with trance-infused pads and heavy, tripping bass. jest nadzieja brings a little swing and a mental breakdown, while oo is all crunched riffs and one-finger-string-solo glory. nuff said.

a shimmering piece of gold - discos dorados is a 4 track va e.p. brought to our shores by the lovedancing adventurers. felipe gordon & vagabundo club social open up the e.p. marrying dreamy arps and luscious rhodes stabs, with tribal-esque chanting to create an exotic, bubbling groover. eddie c then ramps up the disco flavour with his stomp mix of the original introducing a phased upbeat hook and choice horn samples, isolating out elements before unleashing a killer keys solo over the top. flip it and sleazy mcqueen & vagabundo club social bring the heat with chips y salsoul , blending jazzy chords and echoed out trumpets evocative of a mexican fiesta after one too many tequilas. to close it out eddie c rides off into the sunset sampling a vocal dialogue that wouldn t be out of place on a moodymann record, alongside succulent strings and crisp percussion - reminiscent of the jazz infused, mpc laden house of the moomin s of this world.

nemoy and djemeia met at some sort of band/singer contest in zurich. he was in the jury no one knows why and djemeia ended up winning that thing. after that, nemoy just didnt stop bothering her with soulful, lo-fi house tracks, until eventually she gave up and recorded these magical vocals over some of his tracks. a perfect fit, right away. alexander lay-fars fantastic remix work takes that to a whole new level. buy this record

it is not the honor that you take with you, but the heritage you leave behind. we don’t have every day a rework of a classic techno milestone on a label that tries to push the boundaries of the future, but this time is the time. thomas schumacher represents one of those artists that was there since the very beginning, and he is the proof of how an artist can evolve in many ways during the years, but always been devoted to techno, and the meaning of it. “when i rock” was played all over the world for decades but now gets a brand new rework by label boss emmanuel, and the creator itself thomas schumacher. the record has a b/w sleeve cover design by caitlin schumacher on 12”.

laylla dane to release her debut record. known as a devoted, low-key selector and dj, the bulgarian delivers a refreshing class act of an ep on all-inn. swirling acid, mystic ambience and groove-ridden melancholia.

after the devotion trilogy, that kicked-off the label catalogue in 2017, sublunar cofounder sciahri is back on his own imprint with a brand new ep. following the recently released ep “demur” on manhigh, the record label by henning baer, metamorphosis is a focal point into sciahri’s musical journey, always searching for the perfect equilibrium between spacious, immersive sounds and complex structural dynamics.

the melting point ep is back on dame-music! following the well-acclaimed volume 1 last december, which included tracks from kink, thomas p. heckmann and bloody mary, dame- music is proud to present volume 2 of this acid project, this time with label boss bloody mary inviting three guests to share the record with her. the photo used in the artwork for this release was taken in sydney s king cross district in early 2018, and features street art by owmag. thanks to this amazing artist for allowing us to use his work. once again, the melting point concept sees bloody mary invite some of her favourite and most well-respected producers to the label with these 4 original tracks. the melting point ep vol. 2 marks the fusion of four renowned producers including hardfloor, josh wink and alien rain and mary herself. this release is sure to be heard on dancefloors this summer! 4 tracks made by and for acid lovers.

echocord sub-label echo echo continues this july with orbite’s ‘interstellar’ ep, a threetracker from the berlin- based producer. orbite is a brand new project founded in berlin, germany with a nod towards the raw, dubby sounds often heard across the clubs in the city, and where better to inaugurate things than the recently launched sub-label of copenhagen’s echocord, one of the leading imprints in the realms of dub techno, home to pioneering acts like rod modell/deepchord, pole and fluxion who have paved the way for orbite’s own twist on the genre. the ethereal pad textures of ‘skylar’ lead on the package, deftly evolving alongside bubbling synth tones, swelling chords and shuffled percussion to create a create dynamically unfolding six and a half minute cut. ‘moment’ follows, edging things further into dubbed-out territories with heavily delayed dub echoes and mesmeric spoken word poetry intertwining to create a, hypnotic beatless soundscape. ‘organi’ closes the record with emotive, billowing pads, warm bell like tones and vocal murmurs running alongside swinging shakers and stripped-back micro-house percussion.

with this debut ep, the ozzie producer succeeds in rounding up disparate & dubious elements together in a serious way without departing from a non-serious attitude - the record even rounds off with a very “put your hands in the air” moment with space gekko’s ravey sirens. “music to party on the river yarra to” (just google it).

dont is excited to welcome dublins another alias with a perfectly unsettling 4-track ep that veers from 2 step through techno and out the other side, truly bringing something new to the table.this producer has been busy carving out a definite sound of late and that sound chimed so much with the original ethos of dont, that he was immediately sought out and invited to record an ep. his productions bang, whilst managing to hit a delightfully off-kilter tone which is a tricky combination to get right and we really hope you’ll enjoy this special release.

after the celebrated metabolism lp from last year, sigha is back with an untitled 4-track cut for token84. after the celebrated metabolism lp from last year, sigha is back with a 4-track cut for token84. this untitled record remains understated, playing with variations on a theme whereby the similarities exist seemingly to illuminate the differences between the tracks. the relationship between circular and hum is reminiscent of sigha s 2016 new puritan flip on the earlier offering of puritan from 2012, with circular presenting a tight, meditative loop in high-mid frequencies while hum inhabits a similar space, only seemingly from a distance. if those two are close, measured and controlled, the other tracks on the record demonstrate more freedom and abandon. gliss is huge and heavy, while flare s sonic elements interact playfully and scatter as the piece progresses.

glitterbox resident dimitri from paris and remixing pioneer tom moulton present their retouched mixes of ron hall & the muthafunkaz modern day soul classic ‘the way you love me’ now available on 12” vinyl. initially released in 2006, marc evans provides velvet-smooth vocals complimented by background harmonies and timeless disco production. for his iconic t.s.o.p. remix dimitri from paris enlisted the help of salsoul orchestra founder vincent montana, jr. for fresh strings as well as a new full orchestra arrangement in his version, and here he gives it an update with his previously unreleased ‘dim’s t.s.o.p. version - dimitri from paris glitterbox retouch’. tom moulton’s retouched sweet-sounding ‘philly re-grooved remix’, previously released on harmless in 2013, comes laden with guitar riffs, dreamy harps and xylophone for even more instrumental glory. two disco legends come together under one stunningly soulful glitterbox release leasing new life into this timeless record.

after the release on french label basse resolution and after a couple of years since his last ep on bosconi, having released with the -under the line- track one of the highlights of our latest 10 years compilation and as bss together with his mates fabio della torre and mass prod, rufus is back on bosconi with a new four tracker record which goes on a new direction compared to the past music he did. -ritual chants- was mainly recorded in the abandoned industrial area of milan called bovisa and probably for this reason the release sounds all around a bit sci fi, cinematic and especially gothic. all begins with the raw techno jam of -fast rituals- where structured mellow and dreamy synth lines combine with the dusty, aggressive and driving rhythmical transportation of its drum section. fast rituals is one of those electronic pieces which tells you a story from the beginning till the end, so please pay attention to it. -sapere sparare- looks calmer but actually has the more mental and psychotic feeling of the whole record, driven by an intoxicating and fat bass line, rough jazzy beats and a lot of twisted out fm synths goodness whose times are punctuated twice by the warning female vocal theme of the track. -last shot #5- instead is a jacked out, hypnotic and darker broken house track dense of pumping low ends and subtle but glorious synth riffs properly made for the late hours and totally in the vein of a baby ford - minimal man production.-tenebre- closes up the ep with its horror movie atmosphere, drilling drones here and there, big bouncy bass lines, reverberated snares, drama strings and a dominant sinister melody which slightly reminds of some old dbx track.

smoove and turrell are back with a stunning fifth studio album, “mount pleasant”. conceived as the middle album of a trilogy starting with their previous “crown posada”, the new record showcases the evocative lyrics and voice of john turrell alongside the glossy production skills of his partner in crime smoove and is described by john as “an optimistic look at a pessimistic time”.

allfeelings is releasing a 12- in dedication to his love for early dub techno coming out of berlin. the idea behind the title “untitled” is to give the listeners more space to interpret the tracks themselves rather than being distracted with any track names. as allfeelings music label is about the amalgamation of sounds and rhythms to bring about a visceral experience, this can be observed in the african inspired percussion on side a and the subtle changes and movement it has throughout its length. side b focuses more on easy listening with sounds and dry textures meandering slowly demanding the listener’s attention at all times. the other great thing about this record is it works really well pitched down which can be used to great effect during warm ups and after hours. this release has the support from ario and o:utlier from astral industries.
