it is not the honor that you take with you. but the heritage you leave behind. we don’t have every day a rework of a classic techno milestone on a label that tries to push the boundaries of the future. but this time is the time. thomas schumacher represents one of those artists that was there since the very beginning. and he is the proof of how an artist can evolve in many ways during the years. but always been devoted to techno. and the meaning of it. “when i rock” was played all over the world for decades but now gets a brand new rework by label boss emmanuel. and the creator itself thomas schumacher. the record has a b/w sleeve cover design by caitlin schumacher on 12”.
thomas schumacher is finally back on noir music with another outstanding 2-tracker. over the years me and thomas have become great friends as we click on so many levels and share the same taste in dark. melancholic and emotional music. i have been a big fan of thomas’ music for many years and i am still a great supporter of his productions today so obviously i am honored to release his music on my label again. on these 2 tracks thomas has recorded 2 authentic and raw tracks with a no holding back. zero bulls*** attitude. you can hear the “no formular” approach on both and i love that. we had an honest and creative back and forth a&r process on both tracks before and after testing them in the clubs and this has given both a unique and fresh techno sound. this is thomas schumacher’s natural rhythm.
inally repressed ! trail blazing music producer and deejay thomas schumacher returns to the helm of his own label: electric ballroom. the berlin based label will now be the primary channel for thomas schumacher s releases but will also feature selected artists from around the globe. electric ballroom kicks off with the vorfreude ep. featuring 2 singles - vorfreude & fangbanger - lifted from thomas schumacher s upcoming album rooms. the release also features remixes from clio and aka aka feat. thalstroem.
the record contains four remixes of tracks from my back catalogue that cover a period of 20 (!) years. from my early days on bush in the mid 90s to my first label spiel-zeug schallplatten in the 00 s up until now. where i run electric ballroom from berlin.
it was in 2014 when a mutual friend introduced me to victor ruiz while he was staying here in berlin. i invited victor to my studio where we had a fantastic session. playing our music to each other. listening to stuff we like and simply talkin and connecting. since then. we became close friends as well as starting to work together. victor has released two outstanding eps on electric ballroom by now. this summer we met again and recorded three tracks. the result is our first joint ep. of which i am very proud.
label head thomas schumacher returns to electric ballroom with two brand new tracks. in true schumacher style he showcases his knack for analogue basslines. state of the art sound design and sophisticated production
2016 repress! those lovely chords. that growling bassline combined with nancy sinatra-esque vocals and one big tease and build. thats what makes this track a true stand-out and sound like nothing else in club-land right now.
THE BEAUTIFUL FORCES (THOMAS SCHUMACHER. YVAN GENKINS REMIX)
12" Vinyl D04.11.14
after a two year gap clio is back on metroline limited after producing two of the most successful releases from the labels extensive catalogue: for sure baby (2010) and do it ep (2012). in the opening track. the beautiful forces. blade runner soundscapes morph into post-rave stabs and combine with heavy subs and sci-fi effects to create the soundtrack to a rave in an abandoned space station.
electric ballroom ushers in 2014 with ill do you. written and produced by thomas schumacher and his partner in crime caitlin. ill do you pays homage to mid-90s drum n bass/jungle licked into present day relevance by thomas schumacher and his cohort.
following their floor-smacking. provocative party piece stinky lollipop (with eats everything). pets founders catz n dogz unleash a very special one-tracker that reminds us of technos illustrious past while shoving us kicking and screaming into house musics future.

anything worth doing is worth doing real. do real is classic peaktime thomas schumacher and the follow up to this years fangbanger single. it is the final track thomas recorded for this album stand up due for release on his label electric ballroom in february 2013!
our dutch counterpart onno is known for his dance floor mastery. his after school ep on upon you was a multifunctionalmover that could teach any lethargic raver a few aerobic moves. >hit me< is in the same league and is completely unsuitable for yoga and pilates. so hes succesfully targeted the blonde dance instructor once again. onno brings the a1 fatburner to a peak with his charming impertinence. thomas schuhmachers pimped version of this awesome rave stepper on b1 tugs and pulls at your pants dragging you kicking and screaming to the dance parquet. where you soon realize that you never want to leave. but for those of you that want to lose some weight also know that you always need to condition yourself and >ghetto talk< on b2 is the perfect bouncy tune for that hour or so on the treadmill.
big with: ivan smagghe. hot chip. axwell. seth troxler. monika kruse. tiger stripes. tiga. john digweed. loco dice... thomas schumacher has always had an underground attitude toward his music. he thoroughly demonstrates this attitude with his first 12inch of 2010. >taxi<. an audible middle finger to the dull - as - ditchwater - post - minimal - token - ethnicvocal - sample - loop - boredom
SYCAMORE FEELING (GUI BORATTO & THOMAS SCHUMACHER RMXS)
12" Vinyl D06.04.10
slamming floor remixes. gui boratto turns sycamore feeling into a convincing club-track. with lighter colours and a straight four to the floor drive. using cut-ups and snippets of fiskers vocal. he transforms the mood of the original without losing its great melodic feel. thomas schumacher takes the track even further and comes up with a driving minimal techno workout. stripping away many of the original layers. yet using the vocal to great effect.
in the wake of the ubiquitously received teufelswerk album dj hell sets his sight on a forthcoming remix album. with this in mind we would like to introduce you the thomas schumacher remix of hells disaster single!

get digital is off to a blazing start after the release of the mini hit >kaskazi< from simon baker and jamie jones and the well received travelling the world ep from the fresh and talented mac neumann. now we are proud to invite the veteran thomas schumacher who has produced with elektrochemie & dj t. and recorded for legendary labels such as bush. gigolo. get physical and his own spielzeug schallplatten. schumacher is a true producers producer and we are sure these two distinctive orchestrations are sure to love up the dance every time. >hot< is something that would come to mind if one heard the word >picanha<. in passing. and without a doubt the main track >picanha< is hotter than a stolen jalapeño in july. precisely layered percussion. meticulously situated effects and drums tuned with minutiae detail are the backbone of this track. but the groove comes courtesy of the schumacher brass orchestra.
sleepy hollow was obviously inspired by the movie of the same name. it is one of my favourite pictures by tim burton and i really like the dark. creepy atmosphere of it. the bass-line recreates this mood to an extent that it scares me. makes me shiver. i mean. really! regenerate has such a strong techhouse vibe to it. again reminiscent of the early 90s and a very strong groove. excellent percussion programming and modulation by stephan. this one builds and builds until it completely gets you. personally i think all due respect is the most laidback. reduced track on the album. we came up with this distinctive. monotone melody/bass and i loved the feeling right away. definetely the kind of music that i like to play on a sunday after hour session
