dubious prey is the 1st release of 2012 on sticks n stones recordings and the 2nd release from the nyc-via-sierra leone dj/producer lamin fofana. lamin is an electronic musician that produces music without category out of found sounds, human voices, digital synthesisers, analogue synthesisers and drum machines. his work can be found on such labels as dutty artz, grizzly and diskotopia the vinyl version of the e.p, contains 2 original tracks and a remix of the lead single by aramac. the e.p has been review on xlr8r and currently been supported by wmfu fm (new york), wifey (déjà vu), matt shadetek, contact and a bunch of other.

bearing the name as one of the most influential and highly rated electronic artists from the spanish scene, uner joins cadenza for the first time with the two piece palua ep. clocking up some flawless releases over the last few years on imprints such as diynamic, 2020 vision, get physical or defected among others, uners percussion and funk led productions have caught the ears of many and cadenza proudly welcome him aboard in the opening weeks of 2012.

mika vainio, currently based in berlin, was one half of the minimal electronic duo pan sonic from finland, (the other half was ilpo väisänen). before starting pan sonic in beginning of the 90 s mika vainio has played electronics and drums as part of the early finnish industrial and noise scene. his solo works, under his own name and under aliases like Ø, are known for their analogue warmth and electronic harshness. be it abstract drone works or minimal avant techno, vainio is always creating unique, physical sounds.

the detroit area artist/producer once called ibex is no more. due to other artists copying the ibex brand, tony ollivierra will now be recording as his real name under his new label northside district. this first release demonstrates a continued appreciation for the roots of electronic music, with several of these tracks sounding like they were buried in a time capsule back in 1987, and unearthed after marinating for twenty years or so. this should come as no surprise, since tony has been producing tracks for about that long.
