alvin toffler war überwältigt. als er am morgen des 4. oktober 1988 – es war sein 60. geburtstag – mit noch etwas abwesendem blick in eine schale cornflakes starrte, glaubte er, in der oberflächenstruktur der gelblich schimmernden milch, die mit ahornsirup eine emulsion bildete und die knusperkristalle der maisflocken langsam, aber unumkehrbar immer weiter zersetzte, wie durch ein fenster in eine zeitlose dimension schauen zu können. toffler, zu jener zeit auf dem zenit seines ruhms als zukunftsforscher angelangt, war von dem blick ins extratemporäre guckloch nachhaltig verstört. in keinem seiner bücher – „future shock“ war soeben in einer weiteren auflage mit dem stolzen zusatz „more than 5 million copies in print“ auf dem buchtitel erschienen – sollte er das erlebnis jemals erwähnen. auch nach seinem tod ende juni 2016 konnten im nachlass bisher keine ausführungen zu dem vorfall gefunden werden. die von toffler in später geschredderten notizen so getaufte „flake dimension“ bleibt ein geheimnis von opaker, schwer zu fassender strahlkraft.

dear wanderer, ramona is happy to present the video dead, chinaski s debut-­ep for live at robert johnson. originally hailing from the high north of germany, rostock near the rough and stormy sea, the young man with interests in 80s video-­aesthetics and vintage synthesizers is now calling offenbach his home­turf. chinaskis ep starts out with time to kill, a straight forward hypnotizing jacker directly heading to the synthesized happiness. midnight workout features a different side to the young talent sensitive placed synth harmonies packed in a vintage-­pop interlude. after a journey through more harmonious domains, night school turns the page again and picks up on those synth-waves and put ramona away from her calm drive through the midnight heat, right on the dancefloor mesmerizing analogue deep housevibes all over the place.hide society steps out of context and mixes chinaskis affection for the warmth of these marvelous synth-­sounds with trippy post-­breaking or even proto-­hiphop sounds topped off with a weird vocal sample. the title­track the video dead summons all emotional power ramona could implant into a synthesizer, the heartbeat like reduced kick-­drum and hihats floating around the track are mostly incidental or not even there for the ears. purely visual.

ramona is pretty nervous to welcome a new name to her ever-growing happy family. in fact, its actually an old band member. christian beisswenger alias cb funk alias one half of arto mwambe is not exactly one you would call a stranger. for >77 reasons< he debuts as the citizens band with some novel sounds on risky grounds. in love with details, fragile sounds, little tricks and with a fine ear for the action, the band leader tiptoes into deep bleepy house just enough to call >west 42nd< exactly that. >77 reasons< however plays around with a memorable little melody, a skanking lead and some boom sonics. whatever you want to call it, ramona is fine with it. orson and kane would be proud.

who wouldnt want to be kept by a beautiful rich woman? no matter how you look at it, its not the worst way to make a living. in 1982 the german new wave quartet ideal even wrote a song about it. >schoene frau mit geld< is thestory of a young man without any other drive or desire in life than to find such a woman and turn this state of utopia into reality. tough goal! twenty-eight years later, one of germanys finest and merited producers decided to do afresh interpretation of the song. sir losoul of playhouse fame presents two mixes (a dub for the faint of heart) that hone the hook and tag line of the original for maximum dance floor and repeated listening pleasure. and that, ladiesand gentlemen, is sometimes really the only thing you need in the world…
