it was 2010 when massimiliano pagliara and discodromo got together and started working on costellazione k78. it s finally time to reveal this piece of italo-cosmic beauty landing on cocktail d amore music. the spaceship starts off and a vocoder announces the destination. in the middle of the track there is an interference. is that a hole? oh right they are out of it! going higher, higher, higher through space-time. b side is taken by a dub version where drums play the main role. everything is condensing together, it feels like connection is lost, but the bass line comes in and takes control. destination reached, time to celebrate. thank you guys for the efxapella, we ll all do good use of it. greetings from planet earth!
reformed society is back! -food for thought- and -sunflower startfish- are two pure deep house tracks, -zero gravity- is the bumping house affair. about massimiliano pagliara remix, there is no need descriptions.
for the second part of his -connection lost- series massimiliano pagliara teaches a lesson in how to translate disco music in a modern language of sound. without further ado -trying to hide but then i cried- comes across as pure dance floor material.
TRIANGLE DES BERMUDAS (MASSIMILIANO PAGLIARA REMIX)
12" Vinyl UK19.10.17
jules etienne has been skirting around labels such as apersonal music for a few years, but here makes a strong statement with a new record for cocktail d amore. triangle des bermudas is a swinging yet cosmically inclined jam powered by warm synth arpeggios, which regular collaborator massimiliano pagliara then nudges up into crafty deep house territory. cuban omlette is a delicate affair that interweaves pattering percussion and nagging synth lines to make a particularly heady brew before johns job finishes the record off with a richly layered drum track that should have djs across the board getting tricky in the mix.
massimiliano pagliara debuts on ostgut ton with his new ep, time and again. born and raised in the deep south of italy massimiliano pagliara made his way to berlin in 2001, quickly diving headfirst into the german capital’s club scene (particularly berghain’s predecessor club, ostgut) until he started djing in 2003. by the time of his joining with ostgut booking agency in october 2015 massi had already constantly delivered – the dj and producer has left a strong mark on house music throughout the years with energetic, playful and deep sets behind the decks, two acclaimed solo albums on live at robert johnson and various collaboration projects. his residency at panorama bar therefore was a no-brainer – but the musical link by one of house music’s finest with the club’s label was still missing. now massi steps up with four new tracks and his first release on ostgut ton.

as benedikt rugar s superbly illustrated cover art for the recent cocktail d amore compilation nothing matters when we re dancing proved, the berlin collective proudly celebrate their status as a forum for berlin s gay community to fully express themselves. with no releases on the label since that compilation arrived in january, discodromo and dj boris have now unveiled a sister operation with a focus on edits under the wonderful name cockring d amore. the debut release features contributions from label regular massimiliano pagliara, the unheralded trent and founders discodromo.
...as part of massimiliano pagliaras album >with one another<, ramona presents major fun, a limited 10 inch vinyl release only. the record is dedicated to two of massimilianos closest friends – joshua, who sadly passed away and lucky who is gladly still with us. side a features major fun – a piece that celebrates the essence of life with a sprightly chicago-rooted acid-bassline and a certain italo-flair. on the flipside the much deeper disco-house excursion your love away, featuring jules etienne on vocals. ramona is proud to fulfill your desire for the complete massimiliano pagliara enjoyment.
paramida, the hostess and dj behind salon zur wilden renates renowned paradisco parties, launches her new label love on the rocks with a classic time-bender, which takes us once more on a night trip beyond the deepest galaxies, courtesy of fellow paradisco resident massimiliano pagliara
apersonal music is excited to introduce a very special collaboration between massimiliano pagliara and jules etienne that goes by the name of egyptian nipples. the duo has extensively worked together on various projects and as very good friends it was just a matter of time before egyptian nipples was born.
massimiliano is back where he belongs. a backbone of live at robert johnson records, pagliaras take on neo-dance, post-disco and proto-house is as unmistakable as it is dreamlike. with this sound palette, a love for hardware and surgical arrangements > magic serials< sees the berlin-based producers on top of his game. while name checking the tools of his work (the serials, got it?), mp unfolds untold stories of love, high spirits and deep meditation that every romantic rave craves for – acid poetry included.
ramona still gets plenty of mileage from massimiliano pagliaras wonderful and critically-acclaimed album focus for infinity. thus you will find the second 12 inch of top-quality remix action right here: from acid romantics to reggae house. this time removed from all links to producers from frankfurt, but injected with international rollercoaster sounds.
the new age sound of frankfurt! hot on the heels of massimiliano pagliaras praised album debut focus for infinity youll find a neat 12inch of top-quality remix action. first up, frankfurts version of a young peter daou aka phillip lauer (arto mwambe, brontosaurus) and running backs gerd janson (who spend a big deal of his youth trying to perfect a weak bobby konders mimicry) team up as tuff city kids. offering two takes, pagliaras >a wrong chance< gets split into a sweet layer cake of bass, synths, strings and for those who are faint at heart, an additional riddim version provides hidden acid fantasies. upside down, oliver hafenbauer and christian beisswenger (arto mwambe fame again) keep on exploring their sharp electro funk under their b.h.v.f moniker. with a playtime that exceeds nine minutes, you get right twists and wicked turns and most of all sounds unheard. modern music with an old-fashioned style of lovin.
massimiliano pagliara is a producer who has quickly gained a reputation as a musician who can join the gaps between house, electronica and disco. his productions have already found their way onto respected labels such as eskimo, live at robert johnson, rush hour and now needwant. the original is an electronic disco work out featuring the talents of vocalist alessandro tartari. it harks back to the early italo analogue electronic era with a modern twist. on the instrumental it’s the machines do the talking with a scattering of guitar licks for seven minute electronic groover. originally from italy but now firmly based in berlin you can hear the influences of venues such as robert johnson or ostgut that massimiliano is a regular guest dj. the remix comes from celebrated low slung house hero mark e.
italian producer (born in lecce), now located in berlin making his rh debut! known for his balihu release from 2008... sweet melodic italian disco / house.. this 12inch will also include a marco & orpheo remix...
following up on their rüts compilation and dvd manifesto , comes this new meakusma release, a collaborative effort of massimiliano pagliara (balihu, eskimo, live at robert johnson) and roger 23 (playhouse, swayzak soundsystem, 240 volt). two exceptional tracks, aimed directly at a demanding and sweaty dancefloor. on the aside, berlin based band ‘sic!’ (with jules etienne, alessandro tartari from gui.tar and massimiliano pagliara) have their track ‘h-ea-l’ remixed by roger 23. a 10 minute, moody dub, this track pounds its way gracefully to the center of the dancefloor. literally out of a thunderstorm, alessandro tartaris breathy voice emerges, sprurring on the track..
transmissions florales is massis first vinyl release. the density of the 808 drums reminds us this is synthetic from the start. but as the the swirling, phasing 7th chords and the crystal-like lead tones build up and blend with the laid-back wah-wah guitars, this simple song take us to some sensual, forgotten place with swaying limbs and flashing lights. with a few changes in structure and the timbre of the bass, the acid mix proposes an alternate scenario - gliding to the edge of madness with a wink at raving in the late 80s. are we in the disco? or at the seashore? keep on moving, keep on flying. bionic gulls call to each other over the oceans arpeggios. >alpha base< uses a similar synth palette, but with quite different results. rather than waves, this piece seems to evoke dramatic weather over a jagged terrain. the funky, syncopated bass and percussion remind us of some ancient tribal ceremony on parched soil. odd sound effects imitate the heat and sudden shots of lightning, while the ascending pentatonic breaks suggest a primitive electronic geisha, draped in mylar foil, deflecting the suns rays as she dances for the gods. she performs an intricate sequence of steps, each with its own placement and hidden meaning… having spent the past 2 years entertaining crowds at underground clubs in berlin and around the eu, massi is already somewhat known to those who enjoy dancing to whatever is eclectic, energetic, and atmospheric. now, perhaps more people will hear his special groove. we hope you share our joy, our obsession… and the particular oscillations from this very personal >transmission florale<
paramidas love on the rocks imprint readies its eighteenth release, in this, the year of our lord, 2018 - the latest instalment on the ever-evolving, hard-to-define label is a decidedly non-dancefloor oriented, melancholic/euphoric instrumental number from promising lon-don/lisbon producers elles & violet.
just jack are back with more fire, this time from brooklyns tape hiss. synth heavy, acid led grooves are the order of the day on the 3 originals, with panoramabar s massimilliano pagliara providing some serious dance floor heat on the remix.
the lifesaver 3 compilation, the yet most comprehensive package of the lifesaver history, sounds like electro, sharp-edged like the vault in a hague bunker (lauer), provides data pop with piano crescendo (fort romeau), brings the style characteristics of german schlager music to the breakdance mat (rolande garros), lets the bulky lily-of-the-valley bells clang and sends the reverb tails away with the wind (benedikt frey). there are several new names to discover: felix strahd, benjamin milz, vincent feit, and of course there a many old acquaintances: massimiliano pagliara, orson wells, tcb, chinaski. roman flügel brings us “good news”, however: “from another planet.” and fort romeau feels “lost, again”, but in such somnambulistically beautiful manner that you want to get lost with him instantly and jointly find the great joy.
berlin-based marlon hoffstadt drops coach mike, the fourth ep on his own retrograde imprint, featuring remixes from massimiliano pagliara and the friend and following a hat trick of successful releases. the four-track ep is the sophomore release from hoffstadt on his burgeoning label, which he co-founded with natureboy gold and matteo luis in august 2015. previously featuring the likes of kris wadsworth and tuff city kids, retrograde provides a platform for the artists to explore music alongside other forms of expression such as art, particularly surrealism.
we talked a ton about lph co-owner and -founder jacques renault s debut lp, zentrum, so let s keep things brief and cut to the chase for off zentrum, the first remix ep to be spun off from that record. four remixes, all by lph family members, all burners. first ones by borrowed identity, second one s by nicholas, third ons by massimiliano pagliara, fourth ones by max mcferren. how multicultural! that s two continents and four countries represented! hot dog!
younger than me are marcello carozzi and john ming, a rising dj and producer duo from milan. they teamed up with singer lara caprotti for their debut release. the uplifting synth arrangements combined with the soulful voice of lara results in an ultimate sexy-disco-rave euphoria. fellow italians massimiliano pagliara and uabos handled the remixes and and put their sophisticated signature on top. a future club classic, sweet as honey!
backwards ep is the first collaboration between moodmusic head sasse and maurice aymard. backwards is a fresh take on house music with touches of disco, electronica and techno mixed in to the equation forming a beautiful mixture of forward thinking club music with a hands in the air factor. athabasca forms a perfect companion to backwards, taking a more disco approach to things and letting the steam build up before dropping into deep house territory. remixed comes courtesy of massimiliano pagliara and luvless.
spectral sound has assembled four distinctive but complementary producers to flesh out fort romeaus remix, frankfurt versions. remixes coming from roman fluegel, orson wells, massimiliano pagliara and tuff city kids.
new tracks by roman flügel, lauer, massimiliano pagliara, portable, benedikt frey, orson wells....since ramona presented all her disciples work throughout the first lifesaver compilation in 2013, its now time for another episode of togetherness. summoning all of her artists around frankfurt and those who live around the world, ramona is now ready to present the lifesaver compilation 2.
this compilation is in celebration of our berlin party cocktail damore, which we started with boris five years ago along with visual direction by pindar (goldnsour). what began as a gay monthly, focused on bringing quality music into the alternative culture of berlin, has grown to be host to a diverse range of open minded freaks, queers and more seeking a carefree atmosphere. the music we have compiled is a reflection of the variety of sounds our guests expect from the unique cocktail experience. the 3x12 inch vinyl comes in discodromo triple gatefold sleeve including poster and donwload code to redeem audio hi-res files.
nice price deal !!! to celebrate reaching this milestone, phonica records have invited some of their favourite artists to produce a track for an eclectic yet cohesive compilation, which will hopefully go some way towards sonically unfolding the ten years of phonica. split across three cds or lps.
we are pleased to present the latest addition to our slow motion family - marcello giordani. disco overlord, laser cowboy and cosmic heartbreaker. >chubby rain< takes you on a journey through inner space and outer dimensions where the infinity of the universe glows in neon-indigo and thoughts and feeling come and go like waves on a beach. with wandering arpeggios, washed out digital strings and distant vocals, there s just the right amount of strut in the precision-engineered beats to propel you through the night. >roma< brings us back closer to earth with a smattering of classic disco sounds reinterpreted for a parallel universe. playful synths make us think of strange animals in distant galaxies, and inter-stellar adventuring with a happy ending.flip the record over and masimilliano pagliara breaks chubby rains epic journey in to smaller, sharper hops that retain the best parts of the original but adds extra rocket boosters to make for a more exciting ride. finally modus, the dirty, sexy robot cousin that we only talk about in hushed digital voices. she is slow, sleazy and spilling oil out of every hole. is that reggae she is listening to?
b1ig with: skatebard, bicep, discodromo, mano le tough, the beat broker, justin miller dfa, baby g., fabrizio mammarella, ...
pt 1 of the vinyl version of this great label retrospective... so much good music on here! we at rh are long time fans of daniel wang and thought it was time to shine some light on his balihu catalog. on this compilation you will find all his early hits, unreleased material as well as more recent released deep, electronic disco by daniel and co (brennan green, ilya santana & massimiliano pagliara a.o.) a tasty compilation disco and electronic heads alike. a very tasty release for the disco and house fans alike. includes all the rare and more dancefloor orientated tracks.
jackmaster brings the summer heat on the next edition of dj-kicks. the next episode of dj kicks comes from jackmaster. the numbers cofounder and charismatic glaswegian delivers an honest journey, unearthing a serious passion for the obscure boundaries of house and techno. the mix is influenced heavily by how i used to dj at the first party i ever promoted, named seismic, and another named monox which was a straight up techno night where i was a resident from the age of 17. and although it wasnt my plan, it turned into a kind of tribute to the cities that really formulated me as a dj: detroit, chicago and glasgow.
to celebrate reaching this milestone, phonica records have invited some of their favourite artists to produce a track for an eclectic yet cohesive compilation, which will hopefully go some way towards sonically unfolding the ten years of phonica. split across three cds
