kyoko koizumi, auch bekannt als kyon kyon oder kyon², war in den 80er und 90er jahren eines der beliebtesten und meistverkauften pop-idole. dank der vision von haruo chikada als produzent kommt es auf diesem album zu einer unwahrscheinlichen kombination ihres gesangs mit den aufkeimenden klängen der house-musik - mit großem erfolg. was dem zeitgenössischen publikum wie eine kulturelle anomalie erscheinen muss, vor allem so früh im kanon der house-musik (diese platte erblickte 1989 das licht der welt), können wir heute rückblickend erkennen, dass dieses album nicht nur eine momentaufnahme des musikalischen zeitgeistes jener zeit ist - es hat auch die vereinigung von house- und tanzmusik mit kommerzieller pop-sensibilität vorhergesagt, die in der kultur der folgenden jahrzehnte geblieben ist. was auf dieser platte klanglich passiert, geht jedoch über alles wegwerfbare oder fade hinaus, das einem in den sinn kommen könnte, wenn man an pop-ausflüge in die house-musik denkt - wir bekommen bedrohliche acid-lines, hip-house-rhythmen und sogar einige digi-dub-ausflüge serviert.
