martin lewis, the insane house kid from berlin is breaking bad with his new and massive “rewind ep” on freebase records. with his first strike “believer” he delivers a flat footed house banger with a grumpy bassline, flavoured with an hypnotizing vocal sample. the second track “ breaking bad”, a genuine groove tool, is also influenced by martins garage credo. sublime melody riffs are competing with a wiggling bassline. tuff city kids, aka gerd janson and phillip lauer come up with two mind- boggling remixes of “believer”. at the “acid remix” they take out their breaky 90s acid drumset. this one is dry, jacking and sophisticatedly tribal. the “tuff city kids remix” starts with desert- dry acid elements which grow up to an uplifting acid soundwall. a true “jack in the box”.
