limited 2018 repress ! before producing on roulé, dj falcon worked in a&r department at virgin. in 1999 he released his first ep (on roulé) and produced a remix of cassius’ “la mouche” which is an all-time classic now. one year later, he started working with thomas bangalter on a track called “together”. two years later, the second release “so much love to give” of the duo appeared, which also remained the last release of dj falcon for a very long time. after 10 years of releasing nothing, dj falcon finally made a comeback in 2012 with several remixes such as justice’ “new lands”, alex gopher’s “hello inc.” and alan braxe’s “time machine”. in 2013 he reunited with thomas bangalter to release the track “contact” on the daft punk album “random access memories” together with guy-manuel de homem-christo.

back with another banger compilation. on the a side weve got the quintessential anonymous producer crue who provides heat with the very first cut on this record which is a peak time banger close to the techno and acid realm. then, on the same side, a great detroit deep house influenced track by esperanzas label boss kasper shows the infectious and deeper work for this broad release.
special 2018 repress , unison wax 01 as a whole is an exercise in classy, reduced house for the summer generation. a-side -seize- crashes into force, with unapologetic bass that seems to be breaking at the seams. perfect for building or taking it down, its simple, four-four quality as dusty hats scatter and float around the top. then the keys hit, sizzling and singeing at the edges like they’ve been left on the grill too long, before the whole thing melts into the break. its hot summer garage house for late evening breakdowns. flip it over and the vinyl takes on a distinctive darker flavour. -groundhog- plays smooth, reduced house elements against a driving, deep bassline that rumbles and pushes you on. around that coils softly pulsating synths that swell in and away from you before the tooly, smooth finish reduces to a close. -special treatment- is smoother though. dusty shakers, jacking claps, druggy synths and a rolling, questioning bassline shows a deeper, darker shade of berlin house before it casually pumps its way to the close... and of course vinyl only
during these days where lo-fi analogue house productions seems to be the it thing, its time to dig out a release by one of the true pioneers of house music. not an outsider but one of the names thats been around forever and thats known for several timeless house classics.

‘luvless’ is a peak-time roughed up edit of alison limerick’s ‘where love lives’, first debuted to critical acclaim on quinton campbell’s boiler room set this year at ava festival belfast.
on the flip, a huge organ pounds over a 4x4 warehouse kick on ‘like magic’, all pushing forward alongside sultry vocals and cutthroat hi-hats. two certified dance floor damagers.
‘multiverse’ is a word used to describe an infinite group of disparate universes including the ones currently inhabited by humans. a myriad of realms that sit side by side, undetected by our senses, surround us at any given moment. the multiverse theory was first confirmed by tracking leakage of electromagnetic waves filtering from one dimension into the next. when these waves were transposed to fit into frequencies audible by the human ear, the recordings were studied by a team of scientists, who found that they contained rhythmic elements that resembled a speech pattern of an alien language. after years of research and manipulation the audio was found to be a looping recording of an alien voice speaking the words: ‘idwt005, coming soon to a universe near you.’
yes, one hundred! wow! morris audio s 100th release is a milestone for one of the most productive labels from switzerland. morris audio started 18 years ago, the sublabel morris audio citysport 15 years ago. with a total of more than 150 releases, the labels have been making their marks by presenting different types of electronic music, from techno to minimal to deep house with everything in between. combining established producers and youngsters, morris audio has an impressive artist roaster. remember the likes of dub taylor, jackmate, hakan lidbo, burnski, till von sein, kris wadsworth, iron curtis, oli furness, dash dude, tom ellis&leif or brame just to name a few? it has been -club and home entertainment- for years and we celebrate this 100th release with two parts of well-crafted tech/house tunes. part 1 is the more techy one and features morris fella iron curtis, new signing anna wall & corbi, and swiss boys replika and elvis cassetta. collectors item!
marcellus pittman s is back with his second ep of 2018 on his own unirhythm records. the jewel here is pittman s 2007 acidic masterpiece -there s somebody out there- getting the edit treatment from chicago s jamie 326, who whips the original into a hypnotic bender. -something like (a dream)- is an upbeat key-driven vocal house cut in pittman s flowing style with bits of vocals floating over the mix. -breathe beat- is a low key bouncer stripped down to the raw elements with floating synths hovering over a minimal shuffling beat
italian producer piero pirupa’s musical cv is nothing short of impressive. so it’s no surprise that his next production has found a home on damian lazarus’ crosstown rebels, enlisting the vocal talents of new york’s mr.v. influenced by the sounds of 80s and 90s chicago, pirupa worked tirelessly on this ep to reach a version he was happy with. after seeing the reaction from dancefloors around the world, he decided to send it to carl cox and damian lazarus. we must be (the piano track) breathes new life into today’s dance music with a message from a bygone era. it harks back to the golden age of house music with its lush piano topline and positive message sung by mr.v. happiness simply emanates from this production. with lyrics such as “we must be all in this together, we must live to respect one another” and “this is the plan to make us unified” it takes clubbing back to a time when everyone came together on the dancefloor regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or religion.
up next on phonica white is brooklyn based artist justin cudmore. he is a well-known dj thanks to his memorable sessions at the bunker among other new york and many of the best clubs worldwide as well as teaming up with mike servito and gunnar haslam as hot mix dj collective. as well as djing, justin has always been a fan and creator of dance music, he started being part of chicago’s underground scene, deepening his appreciation for the classic house and acid that you can still feel in these new tracks. this new release follows in the wake of ‘forget it’, his last celebrated ep released by the bunker though in our minds his sound has progressed yet again, sounding fuller, faster and rounder. ‘twisted love’ gets straight to the point, with firm and strong percussion joined to a fickle acid bass line. in addition to this, justin weaves in some house-flavoured vocals to keep you hooked until the end of the track. a certified floor-filler of a track. on the flip is ‘about to burst’, a track that starts with a powerful kick drum and grows with new emerging elements, punchy hi-hats coming and going in key moments and a simple keyboard arpeggio that added to an acid bass line catches you instantly. justin’s new ep is unapologetically aimed at the dancefloor. its primary influence may be detroit-flavoured techno yet you’ll also find chicago house and acid elements floating over its powerful backbone, all combining in devastating way, primed for club use. artwork as always is supplied by the talented pedro carvalho de almeida.
we want the p.a.v. to be full of house, and full of houses! through this five-tracks release, annibale o. sets the stage for a novel, genuine house music dedicated to those who suffer from restless feet syndrome.
