subliminale materiale is the 5th installation on lustpoderosa. kind of a split ep. the a side with two remixes and two original jams of jack pattern on the b side. with this release we want to point out the remixes on the a side. both done by lustpoderosas favourite producers and djs: sneaker aka dunkeltier (uncanny valley, rat life, frigio) and kris baha (power station, pinkman cocktail d amore) . we guess you know and love them as much as we do.

frak – grown up guests
like a diy brick-shithouse frak feel like they are preparing for some nasty. kicking off the track with some serious drums. eerie synth lines and creepy bass pads lend for a slightly deranged and unsettling feel. there is a strange air about this track. tuff snares kick in that galvanise and ready the troops. the strange difference between the everyday title and the militant feel of the track makes for interesting concoction. its like a bunch of psychos preparing for a dinner party. sweeping the floor and combing their hair to precision. the house might look nice and the cake might be delicious, but these guys psychos.

kernkraft translates as nuclear power and from the outset reverberating sequences visualise a bleak working environment. mechanical sequences rotate. clouds of sparking particles swirl overhead menacingly. a kick drum stumbles into actions, the machine has powered up. cold hi-hats shimmer, and hollow synths give the feel of some sort of labouring workforce continuing their daily grind. this doesn t feel like a nice environment to live in and reflects the reality of some peoples everyday life. living to work for the greater good and sacrificing their lives in the process. it is a powerful piece. strong, monotonous and mechanical.

the project which was started back in 2009 by the two danish producers, dennis bøg better known as resoe, owner of baum records and its off shoot baum limited picture edition, and kenneth christiansen owner of echocord records. each of their releases move into different realms of techno,and have gained support from the upper echelons of dance music, from the likes of rodhad, levon vincent, and dario zenker.

a crawling filtered synth opens ‘009a’, murky kick drums and syncopated high-hats join it, to create a long winding warehouse melody, these are then exchanged for the hazy sounds of white noise of ‘009b’ packed with cold eerie drones, that are met by charged hums that fizz away and bring the release to a close.

> it felt like a long wait for us, but finally we can present the first artist on our label xxx, jack pattern<. with great honor we introduce to you this collective consists of three producers who live and breath deep in the heart of switzerland. they delivered four diverse and atmospheric stellar dance floor tracks with serious hints to the late 80s. this first vinyl only release on xxx, will be accompanied with custom made artwork by patrick van vliet. patrick s work has evolved from pop surrealistic, psychedelic imagery to a dutch social realism. he incorporates social annoyances and public degeneration from day to day life in his images. these images seem familiar but alienate. alienation by disrupting the familiar with uncanny elements and deviant colors. a perfect mix for this release. xxx is a new label that combines music, art and club nights curated by shmlss. every artist they invite has the freedom to fill in the x.

b-stock! cover with seam split. vinyl unaffected & mint. earth patterns is a new journey into sound by london based australian born musician ben davidson, best known for his disco tinged house singles as ben sun, that were championed by the likes of gerd janson and larry heard. the earth patterns concept presents a more expanded instrumental sound with live rhythm sequencing and synth work, sitting alongside vangelis katsoulis, lars bartkuhn and soichi terada on alex bradleys utopia records. davidson joins the dots between detroit by way of tokyo techno on sunflower to dream ii science deepness on horus rising and some worldly organic rhythms for a modernist and dare we say it utopian sound on after the rain. the analogue sound from his london studio comes through on the gentle and harmonic b-side opener transit pan perhaps the start of a journey beyond the dance floor for the producer. artwork and liner notes by davidson himself, all pressed by bespoke pressing plant the vinyl factory on heavyweight vinyl.

man of the moment corey baker, better known as pattern drama, is slated to release a 12 inch record on boston-based cenote records later this year. the wait for me ep feautres the namesake track backed by vocals from the incorrigible aquarius heaven and hezza fezza, and a second original track, a collaboration with the duo of johnny cruz and silky, aka dis-cern. sitting on the flip is a monstrous remix from francesca lombardo (crosstown rebels)

debut release heralding from newly sprung, berlin label, temporize, “sounds from an unknown town” is also the debut release from mysterious italian, wrng pattern. promising the directional sound of “electronic productions with no real boundaries in sub genre”, this first release proves true to the labels intentions.
the limited vinyl release features five eclectic sounding tracks, each reflecting a variety of places on the musical spectrum that the label is planning to represent. on the a-side, listeners are presented with a rich uk and jungle fuelled dubby opener “ancient”, followed by the more delicately constructed techno leaning banger, “dip city lights”. pressed onto the underside is intricately the deepest track on the record, “montjua” tipping it’s hat to a more dubbed out electro palate. followed by the deep digging dubbed out charger “grrl skitty up up”. rounding off the release is “bb mix”, a stuttering, pad heavy track with off-kilter beats.

kenneth christiansen & dennis bøg presents pattern repeat part 6. this time pattern repeat gets a little more harder and darker on pr00/6. the a side is a moody dark track with deep hypnotic almost nightmare kind of groove, with a old school kind of atmosphere. the b side gets hard straight from the beginning of the track with a pounding almost industrial kick drum, that builds from a minimal groove that really will kill the pa system in the club. pattern repeat has stepped up, and shows the harder and deeper side of the copenhagen techno scene

after a break for over a year pattern repeat is back again with another two tracks on their own label. both kenneth & resoe has been really busy last year, so it has been difficult to meet up in the studio. but now they had the time to finish two tracks of deep dirty techno from the capitol of denmark copenhagen. again they set it of with raw dirty dub infected grooves and the a side starts up right away with the dub elements intact, and then keeps building through the rest of the track. after the short break a hypnotic atmosphere kicks off in best pattern repeat style. the b side starts slowly with an almost alfred hitchcock kind of atmosphere, with a dull kick underneath. the track keeps gettin more dirty through the 6 min. and 15 secs. it last, with more distortion added to the dub stabs. its a good way that kenneth & resoe returns since the last 12 inch they put out in december 2010, to set the stage for 2012.

the second release by berlin based knuggles recordings will be coming out in december. it features the previously unreleased original 12inch mix of 7107 music by netto houz. this hybrid of chicago deep house and oldschool electro caused some dancefloor action back in 1998, when it was originally released on ladomat 2000. on the flipside, knuggles recordings presents a new exciting producer: dj nikolaos aka moire patterns spins his track the roots anthems 001 (co-produced by dj kriton) into a modern and spherical growing deep house bomb. enjoy!

pattern select aka milton jackson and show-b have gone well and truly back to the raw on this, their first collaborative work together and debut ep for delusions of grandeur. both producers have been busy on some top quality projects just recently with milton jackson remixing recloose for planet e and show b producing for robert owens on compost. the pair met at a party in munich, promptly fell in love, and soon enough pattern select was born. kicking off tale of the tape sees the pair go deep n dark on this low-slung groove where demonic laughter rides the driving hats and insesant crashes until the filtering arpeggiated synth line joins the fun. tale of the dub gives us a stripped back, dub-infused version which goes a little lighter on the craziness of the first version but without losing any of the deep, hypnotic funk.

the 4th release on their own imprint >pattern repeat< (resoe & kenneth christiansen) again delivers two killer techno tracks. the duo has really built themselves a solid reputation on the previous 3 releases, and gained support from artists like function, silent servant, pär grindvik, levon vincent, darko esser, reference, samuli kemppi. pattern repeat shows how the modern berlin sound really can get a twist of the new sound of copenhagen.
