straight from cologne, we proudly debut with our first release on technology gap 001, with some deep as its gets straight up house music acompaning your personal summer madness. anyone wondering what oliver kochs breitbandkater projects all about need only turn to the eps opening cut, >warm and wet<, wherein the cologne-based producer proclaims, >i want the best for you / so everything i do / is house music.< yep, technology gap 001 is house music all right, and a particularly fine sampling of it too. the aforementioned >warm and wet< immediately declares itself an ep high point the moment its thumping bass pulse kicks in. sleekly designed, the cut begins with a tight minimal swing that swells into a jacking house fireball while serving up six minutes of chunky chords and cracking snares. the second track, >wonder why<, tips the balance in a slightly more soulful deep house direction when monojoe spreads an exuberant vocal ove r breitbandkaters lush backing. warm chords and a sweetly grooving pulse provide a soft cushion for some old-school cymbal patterns and a radiant synth hook in the smooth stormer. adopting a slightly more atmospheric approach, with house group of the hour, morning factory winds up the ep with a trippy remix of >warm and wet< which finds kochs vocal drifting through the slow-building mix in a semi-entranced daze. lovers of classy deep house should no doubt find much to admire about breitbankaters three-tracker. go hunt, its good for you

echospace are proud to announce the third ep from the forthcoming cv313 album, >dimensional space<. this release marks the first remix from one of the uks most revered talents -- king midas sound (the bug) who manages to take the original in a direction one would never expect, creeping and trembling right at the very core of your very being. this is truly the midst of something beautiful, its haunting, infectious and has no restrictions to gravity, this is truly something to float in. next we have a heady subliminal interpretive from seattles, rafael anton irisarri as the sight below (ghostly) there is a reason why his sound has even turned the head of radiohead front man thom yorke and if i had to guess i would say its rafaels emotional range, he tugs right at the heart strings. this mix is as narcotic as you would expect, a slow motion dream where in every twist and turn a new detail unfolds, its like visiting an unexplored world -- subtle and hypnotic. on the b side (our first sound snippet) we have a more 4/4 number culled from deepchord presents: echospace (modern love) live set from this past year. this one has been tried and tested at countless shows and club floors around the world. its all about that syncopated bassline, a subterranean bottom and an atmosphere as deep as the ocean floor -- this is underwater space funk.

nhan solos second release >fortune cookie< exemplifies a musical direction that his recent dj sets already indicated: a deeper shade of house, showing heavy uk influences. the single features remixes by superhip dance artists such as acidkids (dim mak), yolanda be cool (sweat it out), monkey safari and golden bug (gomma) and was produced in collaboration with taan newjam. french music director damien elroy vignaux is responsible for the accompanying video – one of the craziest things you will see this year.

green could not have found a finer match. the melodic genius of ripperton is wonderfully sculpted by the uk producer, who delivers not one, but two remixes. part 1 sees radio slave taking leonor s lanugo on a deep, hypnotic workout. its warm, all encompassing bassline works brilliantly with its tribal drum line to deliver a deadly take on the original. on part 2 radio slave takes a housier direction. rock solid beats are interwoven with the original s beautiful string melody as bird calls and wild cats prowling add to the incredible suspense to create an inspiring remix.

the next entry for the fof? label sees meadow taking the healm. meadows remix of previous release, >kheema<, takes the dubby-ness of the original to new heights and ratchets up the intensity with an undulating warming pad that laps over the senses whilst elements of the original tease in the back ground. >the cheese< takes the ep in an alternative direction, stepping over into dub step territory with oh so deep bass stabs underpinning the skankin percussion with traditional dub elements sparkling in the foreground. rounding of the ep is >6 steps<, a musically crafted slice of deep house for the afterparty complete with hazy melodies.

the solid tumbling tones found on this ep are all thats needed as an introduction to these two accomplished producers latest creation. both strong forces in their own right, the pair come together once again on sweatshop to present their vision of dancefloor harmony, and mystery! sirens is the aptly titled track whose crazy vibe is encapsulated by jacking, swinging percussion, wild pitching synth stabs and a haunting soprano soloist letting loose! this needs to be experienced to be believed, but the proof will be in the dancefloor, hands in the air and minds expanded! moirae works the tension with dense filtered stabs and crisp solid state percussion, driving this deep slab of dark dance into blissful moments of release. mellow yet urgent, its a raw, purist electronic statement! joel alter also offers up a special edit which focuses the groove in a slightly more kinetic direction, with reduced, aquatic synth work and a classic club energy that makes it an ideal addition to the package.

if it says trouble on it, you know that its going to be intense inside. marcus meinhardt has the bow strings pulled tight and is aiming for the techno heart of the dance floor with his latest release for upon you on a1. the arrow subtly touches the souls of the crowd, making eros faint with jealousy in front of the dj booth. the b sides restart a track form deep within the techno-boiler goes in the same hypnotic direction, to a place where the nights haze rises above the heads into the sky and is carried by exalted hands

we finally did it: we proudly present to you our very first vinyl by none other than mr. sean oneil aka someone else, the mastermind behind foundsound records! known for his awesome releases on various labels and for filling dancefloors all over the world, he delivers a cool club track called >zebra talk<. driven by a heavy, minimal beat, this track offers freaky vocal lines, spooky breaks and enough tension to keep the crowd moving. we also provide you with some great remixes: the first one by miskate is a more deconstructed approach to the original track, featuring loads of percussion and neatly arranged breaks, surrounded by massive reverb. the second remix is by the argentinian producer omar salgado. a groovy new bassline and full of deep variation, this moves the track into a different direction.

now techno has its own fair trade. basmati, the new label by gabriel ananda (artist direction) and marcel janovsky (management), does not indulge in pretentious bragging. epic tracks are rarely seen in such a light-footed mood: gabriel ananda shakes his hairdo again, this time in cooperation with floor hope daniel mehlhart and the pioneers from superstitions quazar. the results are two genre-bending tracks, whose friendliness makes them look like 10 minute long wolves in sheeps clothing. pinpoint funk with panoramic view, coming from true masters of all classes.

a lot has happened to blm since his last solo ep back in 2008, fatherhood being the main factor for his absence. thankfully the nappy changing musical magician didnt stop tinkering with his synths in that time has come back with a string of forthcoming productions that mark a real step up in quality for him. so, first up blm releases on home soil on his own fof label. garage is back keeps things silky smooth – simplicity is the key here, the percussive elements building slowly before the evocative vocal of suz brings a hypnotic sexyness to the whole affair. step to this is the logical progression from his last fof release (believe in love) with its skippy beats and uplifting stabs being a sure winner for the coming summer. mulletover promoter / dj / all around sexual dynamo geddes provides a rather splendid dub remix of garage is back on the flip. cleverly using key elements of the original to keep the flava but dipping the tempo to give it more of a groove based feel. we think its a high watermark for the man.. check it

big with:laurent garnier, johnny d, hanne & lore, ante perry, sebastian lutz,.. family stuff is a collaboration between prodigal belgian producer kolombo and his nephew nicolas houart. nicolas always was an admirer of his nephews djing and production skills and so it was only logical that he would follow in his footsteps. lany recordings is very happy to provide the platform for the first outing of their collaborative studio efforts. with this first e.p. they prove they can handle both smoother and rougher versions of their house and tech house vision, while maintaining their own sound throughout the 4 tracks. i am has been killing dancefloors in belgium for a while in the many sets of label a&r maxim lany and kicks off the e.p.

truly beautiful deep house records are things to be treasured, akin to proper songs that will last the test of time, not made to meet a fleeting fad. this is one of those records and a real pinnacle & departure for blm & pawas. although the term deep is an oft overused one, >waiting game< personifies the genres true key traits with a subtly moving groove that gradually builds, using layers of subtle percussion and a rich, warm synth motif to make a rich tapestry of sounds before finally introducing the beautiful female vocal that gives the track its name. patrice scott liked the track so much that he agreed to remix it - his first ever outside of his own, excellent, sistrum label. using plenty of the original track parts but taking it a different direction, patrice really has come up with something special. the track moves along with snippets of the main vocal and clever use of the main synth, the groove being underpinned by patrice s classic sense of production before moving into a more classic >detroit< ending - a mindset with a bigger, more dramatic sensibility

herman is probably the coolest artist name we have heard in a while.. so unsexy and very unlikely that its not someone s real name... but stuart li must have had a laugh about it with some friends and some beers! stuart li aka basic soul unit aka herman starts this project for his production that one would not directly link to his chicago house rooted basic soul unit releases. herman delivers two hot tracks with dubstep fueled beats, sub bass driven grooves with detroit influenced sounds that one could expect on a label such as hessle audio. title track prototype is total killer which goes into the direction of 2562 and martyn. april skies sound like aril brikha meets 2562 meets basic soul unit. hot release!!

the needle-drop fuzz that cues sam amidons fourth solo album of songs, i see the sign, raises the curtain on a world of little theatres, foretelling of an aural gut-grip that is fully human and wholly natural. amidons intuitive and often radical reworkings of age-old secular ballads, gospel, folk songs, and hymns render familiar characters new through his direction, vision, vocals, banjo, guitar, and stellar contributions from fellow musicians. stylus magazine raved that amidons sophomore solo album, but this chicken proved falsehearted, was >the most interesting folk album of 2007<. in 2008, bedroom community debuted his third album, all is well, which garnered mediaenthusiasm as a >a goose-bump-manufacturing sonic piece de resistance< (cmj new music monthly).

well ok, no rule without exception... this beautiful joint from johannes albert is a little web 2.0 fairy-tail: the white rookie & cratedigga no. 1 moomin found a youtube clip of a dj hammering a super-deep, rough piano track in a club in the german city of paderborn. he didnt know the track, so he sent the dj a mail asking and a few mails later, the tracks from johannes were blowing away mr. offermanns ears. so the labelhead decided to make this the next white. of course first of all johannes & oskar had to meet a few times to make sure they understand each others vision well and after a few meetings they eventually became friends. so the labels movement towards the direction of house is continued by this release. wooden pearls is pure housemusic to the core. very wooden & grounded in the lower spectrum and crystal clear up in the sky. these very honest and timeless tracks tell us a story. the story of johannes alberts passion for house. since he was 15 years old, he is a fan. from the german franconia he follows house throu his local recordstore >swing king<

sometime around 1999 swayzak released a 50 copies only white label of tracks >easy< and >hof ter lo< as a taster of their 2000 album >himawari< sadly neither of these tracks made the album in the end, but are now remixed and re-edited by rennie foster and shane berry (dirty works, japan) the originals are brought back to life, and given a twist in a new direction. ten years on we plough through our archives and have a new feeling for these old tunes.

the remixes come from prominent producers around europe, so starting chronological from a2 to b2: sian has appeared on a lot on raves and parties with his surf board. he is an international traveller who loves to be reminded of the times when surfing farmers left their houses with door frames and no doors. his remix works in a way a countdown functions. building up tension at an incredible speed, this track is set out to explode... but sian would not be sian if he had not developed a club friendly torture . sian rides the wave of superfatt basslines and adds a sequence that sounds as if someone had replaced his teeth with thin pieces of metal, creating a humming voice comparable to one of a jaws harp. sian keeps the tension going with very few elements and shows he is a true masterof techno.
secret cinema has been accompanying us since his first releases mid of the 90ies and we truly believe quality prevails, not to mention his mayor chart hit just 3 months ago with “shake ur tech-ass”. well secret cinema is unbelievably massive in his production. we dont see how anyone can fatten up the sound more than he can. but it is not only about tuning and pimping and pimping and tuning... his remix is a masters piece of perfectionbecause it creates something rare... deep emotional hydraulic strength. this is like diving head on into a pool of silicone and getting sucked into it. this track has an hypnotic feel to it that is comparable to radiohead.
darko esser is an icon in the techno scene of the netherlands. his remix takes the track in to a direction you would not expect it could go to. starting rather minimal darkos remix soon takes a turn and brings in jack elements and cool nostalgic melodies that will warm the heart of every detroit techno lover. was it derrick may who played chords like this... these strings are looked up in the back of our heads like childhood memories of having your first popcycle exploding in your mouth. this is soulful music with just enough analogue imperfection and warmth to it.

this is the second release by antonelli for dreck after his boogie ep in 2007. in classic antonelli working method the material here is made without a cpu, just with hardware. this gives the tracks a warm feel and a sense of an older mode of production, but nevertheless the two tracks are fully rooted in the now! stefan schwander starts out with the idea of the bassline as a genre-defining element in music. he then works from this central idea towards an euphoric and a reductive version, resulting in the two tracks here at hand, >disconnected< on the a side, and >operatore< on the b side. they both feature a beautifully analogue disco (if not moroder) bassline, build up continuously without ever meandering or loosing direction - very straight and pushing the dancefloor forward with >operatore< being the more bouncy and carefree track of the two.

support from andre rozzo, alex jones, so inagawa, jamie jones, matthew styles-harris, laurent garnier, steve lawler, nic fanciulli. luna records is a new uk based label from respected club promoter/ dj/ producer paul bowen, the man behind middlesbroughs infamous >riff raff< events. the label is set to release music from some pretty well established artists with an emphasis on stripped back chunky house music and in that vein the debut single sees the much hailed german producer chris lattner step up get the imprint firing in the right direction. lattner has been djing for the best part of two decades, initially gracing the decks at hannover techno parties before word of his talent spread, seeing him strike out to play across germany. he has hosted a radioshow for australias pulse radio, worked as a booking agent for lessizmore and has had releases on labels such as einmaleins musik and wba. his passion for electronic music has shone through in everything he has done and led him to produce some great records, to which can now be added the luna debut >memory<. this single release kicks off with lattners original of >memory<, a solid tech driven slice of house with heavily effected vocal samples and a simple floor shaking groove. this is understated underground house music at its best, deep chunky and highly effective. first of the two remixes comes from ex-peace division man justin drake, who builds on the vibe of the original, thickening out the drums and layering some heavy filters over the sythn stabs to great effect. a straightforward and highly effective arrangement provides everything that is needed in this excellent reworking. finally we have a remix from bearweasel, who have been providing choice cuts in house music over the last year via labels such as tsuba, supernature, bloop and murmur. for their >lazy dub< they take things back to basics and turn in a slab of deep and dubby house with an emphasis on razor sharp percussion and earth moving bass. this is a superb debut from a label that is sure to become a major fixture in 2010.

greg schappert aka donor (brooklyn, ny) and tom russell aka truss (london, uk) first came into contact sometime towards the end of 2006. it didnt take long to realize that they had an immediate understanding of one anothers musical background and desired direction. finding that connection has resulted in the two continuing to work together on many joint projects, varying their style between more deep and hypnotic minimal techno to the more driving industrial style techno that they both grew up listening to.
