GRINDHOUSE REDUX PT. 2 (SLAM / OBSCURE SHAPE SHDW REMIXES)
12 Inch 05.02.18
slam and obscure shape & shdw step up for the second wave of radio slave ‘grindhouse’ remixes on rekids this february. one of techno’s most iconic records, ‘grindhouse’ first appeared on radio slave’s ‘no sleep’ series before spawning multiple remixes from dubfire, danton eeprom, terence fixmer and nic fanciulli. kick-started by len faki, last year saw the announcement of a series of remixes with more to come from vatican shadow, markus suckut, lady starlight and special request. complete with relentless kicks, sinister drones and industrial elements, part two is not for the faint-hearted. starting with slam, the soma bosses keep things dark, with rattling top lines and echoing effects resulting in a truly decadent techno floor destroyer. following a remix of radio slave’s ‘vision’ in 2016, obscure shape & shdw’s abilities are held in high regard by the rekids owner and their rework of ‘grindhouse’ reinforces why. complete with a rumbling lowend, metallic melodies and soaring synths, the from another mind founders continue to establish themselves as two of techno’s most exciting names.
nice price deal !!! ... the original mix which has massive support from jesse rose, claude vonstroke, samim and many more.danton eeprom keeps the dark ambiant fx and spirit and adds a monster subbass. this remix is the perfect dj tool.
THE TRAVELS SERIES: EPISODE 1.1 (SWAYZAK, DANTON EEPROM REMIXES)
12 Inch 30.11.16
meant are launching a series of roving travelogues and you’ve got a sonic first class ticket. travel tales gives us an opportunity to celebrate a dj’s unique nomadic lifestyle, and haphazard creative opportunities (and friendships!) that arise along the way. meant’s series highlights producers and takes in their various collaborative creations written on the road. first up, label boss remain whose roadmap excursion from paris to sao paulo teams him up with brazilian techno stalwart clickbox, creating two crisp, restrained, tech workouts alongside two vividly contrasting remixes from swayzak and danton eeprom.
the summer of 2015 sees gruuv celebrate 5 years in the game. we have put together a brand new compilation featuring 25 of our favourite artists, which will be released as 6 x 4 track vinyl releases every two weeks throughout the summer and features artwork from the renowned victoria topping. each ep will be released on limited edition vinyl, with a free poster and sticker inside, uniquely stamped from 001 - 500. thanks to everyone involved, all around the world. music provides the greatest unity. it strips away indifferences, supersedes language, nationality, culture, all defining human factors, and leaves one common thing we can all interpret, sound.
nach dem debuetalbum yes is more (2009) und remixes für röyksopp, radio slave & andrew weatherall präsentiert der londoner pop-elektroniker danton eeprom sein zweites album als hybriden aus leftfield-pop, detroit techno & chicago house, der zwischen catchy synth-pop (biscotto & chimpanzee), lasziven hiphop (hex tape), roxy music-charme (never ask, never tell), late-nite-house-sleaze (femdom, hungry for more) und kroenender eleganz (all eyes on me) variiert.
die zweite 12inch auskopplung aus dem anstehenden zweiten album des londoner popelektronikers danton eeprom ist brillant orchestrierter leftfield r&b mit birkii (kitsune) on vocals, samt remixes von fairmont (border community, my favorite robot) und man power (hivern, correspondent).

danton eeproms sophomore album *if looks could kill* is set to be released february 3rd, the aftermath of an intense period at the controls of his purpose-built studio. the result is a record which is hybridised at its core, chere pop songs gradually intertwine with dance floor values while sprinkling risqué references in the process. a foretaste? femdom. femdom may have early nineties techno written all over it, but still manages to leave a strong eeprom aftertaste when it is all said and done.

mind-blowing singles, eps, remixes (for the likes of simian mobile disco, little boots, royksopp, lykke li, au revoir simone…), a quickly-growing label (fondation records), and the night is his in most of the worlds major cities: danton eeprom had it all, to the exception of a long-playing record. after making a name for himself with hits like confessions of an english opium-eater, grindhouse or face control, it was time to go off the beaten path and show the way once again. would he go for a fairly logical sweat-ridden dancefloor riot? not precisely. not only. danton would make a revolution of his own, in dandy mode.
three words that will soon be on everyones lips: yes is more. in a cloud of smoke, over a tight booty beat and keys delving deep into thirty years of electronic music, the french londoner sings for good and is all axes out on >thanks for nothing<, making things clear from the very start.
if ever a dj wanted to buzz the dancefloor then this is the little gem to go with for sure, a 7inch coloured slice of pure designers soundz ....a taste from danton eeproms up and coming album >yes is more<!
after their album >a land for renegades< and a worldwide tour where their live performance rocks the crowd, zombie zombie came back in studio to deliver us dog walker, a percussion song in the vein of liquid liquid, no doubt their more club friendly track ! danton eeprom takes care of remixing >texas rangers< for a minimal funk riot which haunts you

deep influenced and darker hypnotizing minimal techno with a nice booty shakin groove. danton eeprom, as part of the new generation of french producers, has several times demonstrated his high ability to refresh the existing styles and give them his deep mark, as in >all i can say< (freak n chic 23) and >confessions of a english opium eater< (infine 06)

this classic and legendary track from 79 belongs to the very origins of techno. it has been sampled by djs but was >impossible to find on vinyl<, now this finally changed! the track is back on vinyl and even includes some new remixes. danton eeproms remix a real club monster, and terence fixmer remix with an unexpected groovy mood sound, changing suddenly into a dark deep track. crash course in science have also reworked this year their own original mix and now deliver us a new version, that prove us that they are not out of date, but still remain the real brain of sounds, that for many artists has been the core influence of techno.
