wir begrüßen ripperton unter seinem alter ego headless ghost zurück auf drumpoet community! der schweizer maestro kommt erneut mit einer grandiosen 6-track ep, die von techno-infizierten tracks (“abandon”) über emotionale midtempo stücke bis zu wunderbar arrangierten relaxten listening-nummern, ein rundes wohltemperiertes und hoch-muskalisches paket bietet. while the attention to detail might reveal a production career that spans two decades, the music itself oozes out an undeniable freshness and confirms that ripperton is as hungry as ever to express his talent. from the stripped-down grooves of „see you never“ to the tremendous techno-influenced „abandon“ via the emotional ride of „one day ok, one day not“ or the poignant „real smile fades“, this ep is an absolute delight for your ears, soul and feet!
swiss artist and veteran producer ripperton contacted the esp institute out of the blue mid-2017 to share a gorgeous mix of self-produced material, a collection of pieces made without any agenda outside of representing the self, not geared toward the dancefloor or a specific environment but simply a bi-product of introspective exploration. we were floored, the mix was on constant repeat in our world for weeks, then was subsequently pulled apart into separate titles to form this beautiful double lp, ripperton’s debut with the label. the title sight seeing speaks of someone stepping outside their current reality to look in the mirror, as if to ground themselves and keep sight of who they are in a world of extreme highs and lows. inspired greatly by expansive landscapes and views from airplane windows (imagine your commute flying over the alps every weekend), ripperton describes this collection as postcards to himself, messages from his subconscious recorded on tape (both conceptually and literally), melancholy soundtracks to the mondays that follow weekend journeys. while musical genres tend to cycle through bandwagon moments, the esp institute strives to operate independently of these, and while sight seeing is undoubtably an ambient album, we’re simply proud to revel in the chance moment where an esteemed artist such as ripperton spreads his wings in a beautifully unexpected mode of expression.
it is almost summertime and endless welcomes the brazilian analogue wizard zopelar. >origini< is a cinematic techno track which is the result of a full analog jam, his obsession with vintage synths and drum machines. the track opened most of last live years shows. zopelar is also writing and producing various forms of propulsive pop, running the excellent >in their feeling< label founded in 2015 together with his good friend davis, as well as performing in clubs and festival with his live techno project. on the remix a man who doesnt need introductions: ripperton, the finest swiss dj and producer, delivering two superb and outstanding remixes! from immersive dark techno to refined house, ripperton adds a fresh alternative sense of introspection to >origini<. we were simply delighted from the very first listen! enjoy!
who is v? some say a belgian with an ebm heritage, some say a nomad from outer prussia, im afraid no one knows for sure. lets just fall back on the old cliche of letting the music do the talking, 2 perfect newwave/post/proto/dance tracks sure to rekindle the flames of a lost love or sooth even the most broken hearted of souls. on the flip is a man known to many as ripperton who delivers two slices of his trademark deep and mysterious technohouse music that unfurl with a poise and elegance known only to those with a true mastery of the craft. glorious stuff.
nice price deal !!! after three stunning, floor-fired eps from the label boss himself, deetron takes his burgeoning character imprint to a whole new level of depth and diversity with old friends and new.
maeve is the record label run by three close friends, mano le tough, the drifter and baikal. after his excellent remix of baikals why dont ya, maeve is delighted to welcome back our friend ripperton with his own this, what remains release. two beautifully deep tracks that hit their hypnotic momentum when you let them run their full course. epic burners for special moments.
the legendary lightness strikes back. the zurich based indie-folk band sees the debut on new founded label zukunft recordings including a brilliant remix by swiss legend ripperton, already charted by the likes of dixon, ame and mano le tough to name just a few. soon to be followed by part 2 including remixes by kejeblos and frank wiedemann from ame/howling.
switzerlands mina records turns to the new partnership of our loving sun for its 12th release, and serves it up with a standout remix from countryman ripperton. our loving sun is a new band project that sees swede anders ilar and american chris yard team up to create a melange of ambient, dub techno, acid, pop and synth wave music with plenty of orchestral additions and guest appearances.
ripperton & agnes are friends, very good friends, close friends. theyve simply striked again at something timeless, like their still remembered 1st collaboration, tchang beers, back in 2007. you can expect lush grooves, building up experienced house music along their superb and yet distinctive production style. groove and dedication are keys toward everything the two are musically crafting.this is vinyl exclusive until the last record is sold!
still in its infancy, swiss dj and producer rippertons personal imprint tamed musiq returns with its fourth offering in the form of, lets hope. maintaining the tradition of the labels previous releases, ripperton once again takes us on a journey of epic length, one that masterfully builds, swells and diminishes, as we make our way through a flurry of playful piano hooks, subtle synths and deep bass drops.the flipside comes courtesy of the hottest property in house right now, bicep, who continue turn on the charm with another deep and seductive, on-point dance floor bomb.
ripperton with a big track on his own new tmq (tamed musiq) label. show me is a deep emotive bassline driven track slowly building up. some touches of early detroit combined with great production skills. comes with a powerfull remix by ghostek! bonus b2 track is slightly more melodic and detroit-ish and actually equaly good as the a1 track.
FRAGMENTS - WHERE ARE YOU NOW? (JIMPSTER / RIPPERTON RMXS)
12" Vinyl D11.06.12
>where are you now< was originally released in 2009 as the second release on best works records. a track in which lodemanns 90ies house-music knowledge is combined with the sounds of today always keeping the equilibrium between a classic american house-feel and berlin-ortientated somewhat minimal influence. of course the track also clearly shows lodemanns typical dramatic changes. the track became an underground hit over the years with a lot of people doing their own edits. we decided to re-release it with some remixes by some of our favorite artists incl. jimpster and ripperton. both managed to interpret the original vibe in their own way.
it has been half a year since we released the last max cooper ep on traum, so his new finished ep comes in handy for all of his fans and people interested in the grey zone of techno vs. electronica. max coopers new release the >egomodal ep< comes as a 4 tracks ep and adds up to a great piece of music. once again it focuses on dynamics and tangents, along with the concept of complexity and simplicity. the >egomodal ep< stays true to max coopers approach to link a mathematical structure with a simple one. we are happy to say he has succeeded to fuse complexity with variations by still finding time to focus on details and keeping up that nice randomness which makes his music so appealing also for clubbers and djs.
this release is extremely diverse in styles and offers in its vinyl version everything from the dark detroit electro styled techno piece >epitaphy< that evokes old detroit days… to the melodically trembling >autumn haze< that is a huge track because its flow is superbly programmed ... to rippertons mighty house hymn of a remix, ending in the basseline monster >raw< which looses its teeth towards the end.
tamed music had a flying start with their debut release (ft one of our favorite ripperton tracks and topped with a fresh skudge remix!). and no disappointment for the second release either! ripperton comes with another vocal track (vocals by van hai) that is more house orientated as the previous release, but still has that nice moody laidback vibe of the tmq001. almost dubby feel combined with the gentle voice of van hai makes it a standout release. comes with hot remix action of margaret dygas and iron curtis. sweet package ... expected to sell out as rapidly as the the first tamed music!
big with: ryan crosson, nina kraviz, sebo k, kiki, ben watt, deetron, chymera, tiefschwarz, funk d void, peter kruder, terry francis, konrad black, joris voorn, luke solomun, mandy, agnes, nuno dos santos, rodriguez jr., laurent garnier, phonique, heiko laux, agoria, jimpster, karotte, manuel tur, ellen allien, hell, alexander kowalski, petar dundov, guy j, laurent garnier, samuel l session ...
following the huge success of niwa, his album for joris voorns green imprint and riding the constant wave of support for his productions on music man, freerange, clr, versatile and of course his very own perspectiv imprint, ripperton looks to continue and further his reign as one of the most respected producers in the business with the release of lost in colours.
deetron and ripperton have teamed up under their newly created roots panorama moniker for a release on the french label versatile records. the amazing >threee ep< blurs the lines between disco, house and techno … each of the two producers delivers us his vision of the track, between deep house and disco for ripperton. about deetron, its the house / techno way where he takes on. but dont be mistaken, deetron & ripperton join themselves on the dance floor place.
new project by ripperton himself... tamed musiq. a no-nonsens label approach with some of his finest music! rippertons original is an emotive and intense track that we probably havent heard him do before! already one of our favorite ripperton tracks ever! comes with a skudge remix. we ll leave all the hyped limited bla bla out... these days everything on vinyl is limited!
altogether lost is a collaboration between the bristol based experimental techno duo emptyset and the detroit vocalist cornelius harris aka atlantis from underground resistance. inspired by an early 20th century poem of mystical heritage, the project marks the first ever joint production by these three major capitals of electronic music and is backed up by a very friendly and creative label partnership between emptysets label multiverse and clr from berlin/germany where both labels are going to release different versions of remixes of the original in a mutual promotion and release approach. clr started this series with the release of the stunning original and a slamming remix by chris liebing and now follows up with a ben klock remix and a very deep and atmospheric interpretation by ripperton.
after hearing this release, one could ask himself why deetron and ripperton never did something together before?! with their debut together for music man they deliver two tracks dancing on the thin cord between deep techno and house. a true blinder!
strong remixes package here from josh wink and ripperton. previous single releases >alsace & lorraine<, >sleeper< and >dangly panther< on freerange caused a big stir and notched up excellent sales, with >dangly panther< being nominated for best dance single 2008 in the coveted dj mag best of british awards.
after ellen alliens album >dust< kicked up a lot of the same in 2010, it was only a matter of time until the right remixers for the album were found. no less than the creme de la creme of today s house scene was allowed to have their way with these tracks. and the results are more than fitting. although we have already burned a full-length cd containing all of the remixes they created, we are not planning on leaving the vinyl-loving faction (or whats left of them) out in the cold either. this 12 inch features three powerful club tracks from three outstanding remixers. each unrivalled in their own space.
green could not have found a finer match. the melodic genius of ripperton is wonderfully sculpted by the uk producer, who delivers not one, but two remixes. part 1 sees radio slave taking leonor s lanugo on a deep, hypnotic workout. its warm, all encompassing bassline works brilliantly with its tribal drum line to deliver a deadly take on the original. on part 2 radio slave takes a housier direction. rock solid beats are interwoven with the original s beautiful string melody as bird calls and wild cats prowling add to the incredible suspense to create an inspiring remix.
both born in the year 76 of last century, they are really happy to celebrate that good vintage vibe with you. 1976 - rippertons original track is cheering up his roots in garage house, while on the flip you will find the rolling sebo remix which is memorable as the first girl that you have kissed when you were 12 years old on your first holiday without parents. enjoy!
a 14 minutes epic track, extatic keyboards, melancholic strings & raw beats…call it house, techno or what you want, this is an outstanding soulful piece of music written by the electronic chameleon ripperton. from analog to analog, dedicated to wax lovers.
in japanese niwa means garden. the concept of what an album should be is really taken seriously here. with >niwa< what you open your ears and emotions to isnt just another loose bundle of tracks. all the single stories, element by element, are constantly fusing together into a greater whole. this is rippertons world. he draws on all the influences that have journeyed with him as a passionate musician on life’s long and winding road. influences far beyond dark booming warehouse parties abound, and are just as likely to conjure up vivid images of dewy lausanne sunsets. folk tinged downbeat experiments peacefully co-exist with delicious jazz blueprints and sublime ambient soundscapes, sitting in harmony with deeply hypnotic house grooves.
in addition to our first artist album on connaisseur >estroe – elemental assets< and after the vinyl extracts for >le flaneur< and >updraft<, we present the third single >late night thinking< with interpretations by ripperton who just finished his album for green and one of netherlands best men: melon. all 11 remixes will be released as remix album in digital plus a few remix extracts on vinyl. look forward to more remixes from audiofly, steve rachmad, beatpharmacy, roberto rodriguez and nuno dos santos. rippertons late night take #7 mix – surprisingly different from his last productions is this piece of very organic lowslung addictive groove music.
before his debut album following in september on green, ripperton stikes back with a new 10 prends-moi avec toi is a twisted 4 minutes groove. spoken words and lush beats. on the flip, the windsurfer isolée did the remix, well nothing more to say. let the sunshine in and try to get your copy
after the successful album debut of stimming, we are proud to release the first remix-single the kiss by two very special artists, first sascha funke, one of the most important stands of bpitch control, who provides us since years lots of joy with his unique mix of techno an funk. and second ripperton alias mr perspectiv, who brings as lazy fat people marvelous music to all dancefloors around the world.
this hot new e.p. for dessous introduces two new artists to its roster, in the form of well known and highly respected producer & dj ripperton, who runs the successful perspectiv label, alongside co-owner and recording artist sam k. this mixed and exciting release is headed off by the deeply spaced and simply hypnotic ‚eze‘, a straight collaboration between ripperton and sam k. its bouncing, deep techno pump underpins the track and keeps the pressure constant, while a wonderful phasing synth motif is explored and unfurled as the journey continues. beautiful atmospheric modern dance music! next sam k takes the reigns alone as he introduces the slower, fantastic world of ‚desperate housetrack‘. the title might be a clue to where the melody takes its inspiration, but this tough little groover has more than one surprise up its sleeve, showing off sam‘s love for slow burning, thoroughly explored arrangements. ‚slipstream‘ is ripperton‘s own unique solo voyage through contemporary acid house. its a stripped, low-riding jam that harks back messages from days of old but still had that fresh 21st century sound going on. a great dj tool and indeed a bold statement about the merits of keeping it deep!
a very special compost release with two very rare tracks! the a-side features a great remix of beanfields >tides< with amazing vocals from bajka - of course its not quite up there with the unbelievable carl craig mix but then that would be an uphill struggle. ripperton from the lazy fat people adds his moody, deep slant to the track, less anthemic than carl craig but a more than welcome alternative. this mix was available for a short time as bootleg with ricardo villaloboss remix of depeche modes >sinner in me< on the flip and sold out quickly despite the poor sound quality. finally, one year later, this great tune sees it official release completely remasterd in chrystal clear sound - get it, play it, love it! in 2006 the duo tom wieland and marc frank - better known as 7 samurai - crafted a fine remix of invisible sessions under their panoptikum moniker. when michael reinboth considered this remix for his new future sounds of jazz compilation the guys decided to contribute even a little bit more: an excusive new version which became a definitely highlight of the whole compilation. the panoptikum 2007 remix surprisingly takes a leaf out of innervisions book for a smooth deep houser with a slighty techy sound and a touch of detroit in the vein of Âme or henrik schwarz. in contrast to the vocal version included on fsoj this 12inch features the trippy instrumental version. ace stuff! two must have tracks - all killer, no filler!
incl huge daniel stefanik remix!! big with jimpster, 3channels, laurent garnier, djulz, kiki, philip sherburne, miss jools, fabrice lig, gergor tresher, dave ellesmere, 2000andone, mike monday, dj yellow, stephan bodzin and many more
