glasgow based producer, galaxian, is set to drop the 11th release of helena hauff s return to disorder imprint. paradise engineering is an ambitiously psychedelic piece of machine mastery that will be right at home on hauffs label, with which she set out to bring punk rock and techno together in 2015. the label s name refers to the reactionary post-ww1 art movement, return to order, which called for a rejection of the avant-garde in favor of conservatism and classicism. return to disorder has embraced experimentation and genre bending with releases from the likes of children of leir, morah and umwelt. galaxian s proximity to the sharp edge of quantum chaos and belief in the anarchism of nature make him a fitting addition to the hamburg based label.

dino lenny returns with a new dark dancefloor drop, ready to cause a stir after a string of on-point release over the last year on the likes of innervisions, diynamic, ellum and sapiens. title track techno is dead lands on his own fine human imprint and takes a play from people sentencing the end of a style, but the truth is the floors are having it like no tomorrow. sonic wise, its a 8 minute slice of driving, shadowy, electronic sound, with rumbling 4/4 beats and warehouse ready builds working in tandem for a truly standout piece of finely balanced sound, that will no doubt light up the clubs. following up is go down to mexico, with an array of off kilter stabs and trippy vocal elements solidifying dino s dexterous production style. expect to hear these across the clubs in the coming months.

dop is welcomed back on circus company with a three track heater of an ep with a night in sausalito, and there is no way of taming this one. this time, the trio get slapped on wax with a 12inch that is pitted straight for the dancefloor. deetron comes through with some classy dub work on the remix. kicking things off with their headline track, a night in sausalito, the trio combine their signature and intricate synth work with a mixture of lo-fi hums and percussive flares until jaw fills the mix and takes the track away. rolling on a2 with ischia, the trio drop a straight up meaty drum pattern with a haunting range of vocal licks and delicate synth grooves. on the flipside, deetron strips back the vocals and lays a solid housey dub that purs, intensifies and releases in all the right places.

the next release on brazil s ever-promising disco steamer gop tun comes from renato cohen. cohen has been an infrequent mainstay of brazilian dance music for a long time now, most recently appearing on kling klong, tronic and 100% pure. his releases may not come around every day, but he makes them count when they do. -dynadisco- is a spaced out slow burner with a looped up groove and simmering pads building towards a powerful, funk-fuelled bass drop. -party jam- takes a lighter approach, keeping the samples sprightly and even sprinkling a little acid magic into the tune. it gives whatever/whatever plenty to be working on their remix, which spreads across the b side in a fit of electro-disco finery.

the instrumentals version of this bonafide hip-hop classic are finally available, remastered off the original studio sessions. the artwork has been fully restored and expanded, to deliver a deluxe and heavyweight release of pure quality.

das langerwartete debüt-album der amerikanischen soul und r&b sängerin deva mahal erscheint am 23.03. und wurde von sir elton john bereits als fabelhaft bezeichnet. das verwundert auch nicht so wurde deva ihr enormes talent bereits in die waage gelegt ist doch niemand geringeres als taj mahal ihr vater. deva mahal hat in der vergangenheit bereits mit illustren künstlern wie tv on the radio, sharon jones & the dap kings als auch fat freddy’s drop gearbeitet und ist bei zahlreichen jazz festivals aufgetreten. als erste eigene vÖ erschien ende 2017 die ep “run deep”, die sich ad hoc in der renomierten new york times playlist wiederfand und den startschuss für ihre solo karriere bildete. das album wurde produziert von scott jacoby (vampire weekend, coldplay) und jarett wetherell (beyonce, fka twigs) und bietet einen einzigartigen sound der modernen r&b, pop, soul und gospel verbindet und dabei immer von der überragenden stimme deva mahals getragen wird. der ein oder andere song auf dem album würde auch einer adele gut zu gesicht stehen. die single snakes ist aktuell in der top 100 der deutschen airplay charts mit steigender tendenz!
