>another psychedelic afternoon< lunges in with minimalistic percussion, acidic bass lines and radio voices. the progression of the track keeps one moving while the fluctuation in the velocity and warmth of the sound keeps the explorative side of the acoustics and rhythm flowing. >performer< switches the mood into a darker tone with rolling waves of industrial synths creating a contrasting groove between high speed lighter synths and heavier drum and bass rolls before the second part of the track reshapes the track into more minimalistic and aggressive dance floor weapon.
spanish based record label orbe reaches its ninth release. after putting music out from steve stoll, damon wild and eduardo de la calle now label owner orbe himself steps up again. together with label debutant ocktawian they deliver a split ep with their trade mark deep techno trips.
fernando sanz has been steadfastly dedicated to the craft of beats and breaks since he was a young sprout of 14 years in the sun baked southern spanish port city of algeciras. under the imprint orbe records, sanz has cultivated his own thriving techno community as artist and label head. since 2014 orbe records has been lashing the block rocking techno of sanz’s comrades eduardo de la calle and steve stoll, but mostly of sanz’s own prolific moniker, orbe. as dj and producer orbe keeps the mood surreal and dreamy while deploying understated drum machine patterns to hammer the platonic solids that keep his beloved community in tact. his forthcoming 3-track “hohenheim” ep for the barcelona label, lone romantic, keeps the orbe buzz rolling. “hohenheim” kicks the record into motion with the resounding thuds of a multilayered big-room kick while bright synths and sharp edged sci-fi machinery climb the walls in obscure and narcotic patterns. “shimano’s tribute” is a study in the fundaments of techno that lull the listener with an extended 4x4 intro into a state of high mental absorption, just in time to drop the centre piece of the track, an eloquently ovular stutter sliced percussion sample. “edelweiss” sets the record on a outward course for somewhere between the hypnotic dance floor bliss of a pre-dawn sunday morning and the impending angst beholden to glimpsing the dystopian sprawl of civilisation when flying out monday morning.
orbe is no stranger to the hypnotic side of techno, and his newest release on eric cloutier’s recently created palinoia label properly allows the spanish artist to do what he does best. four tracks of deep, psychedelic techno, all slightly twisted and quirky in their own way, the entire ep is perfect for those headsdown nights deep in to the morning on the dancefloor of your favorite darkened club.
limited old school edition with stamped white label + 12inch sleeve.
mental groove records is ecstatic to announce the release of a collaborative musical effort between spanish producer extraordinaire orbe (hivern discs / analog solutions) and swiss adventurous mental groove label head oliver for a retro / phuturistic 4-for-the-floor e.p. mixing the science of hypnotic analog grooves with the wickedest sounds technique of the warehouse rave days.
sungate’s second release brings 3 perfectly executed, powerful and spaced out original tracks produced by equal, dakpa’s techno alter ego. anatomies ep is completed with orbe’s vision: an intense, complex and dark remix that culminates this solid record.
the idea of purity is always recurring when talking about techno. although purism has long been relegated to a mere excuse for fear, when understood not as vindication of a certain dogma, but as a way of approaching creative expression, purity is, as a matter of a fact, inseparable from the genre. after all, techno is something like the pursuit of transcendence - either visceral, cerebral or spiritual - through the strictly necessary means only. the search of the truest forms by just outlining them. all of this brings us to the story of uniformity , orbe s first release for hivern. the 12 comes wrapped in a screen printed sleeve with design by arnau pi.
our beloved record label analog solutions presents this time to v / a, signed by kristina and orbe and where eduardo de la calle label owner add as well a special detroitish techno soul tool on side b2. it’s been several months since the last vinyl release of the record label, but it certainly strike back again with a sonic quantum force! dropping the catalog reference number 019 which is full of usefull and mesmerized ideas dj tools for worldwide djs that deserve it! it would be nice to pay attention to this great job that will be available only in vinyl format for the first few weeks. pure - shake that ass science - on 12” ... special design for the dance floor ... don’t let it go!
after the success of the double lp kepler 438 on be as one, the well known shlomi aber imprint , orbe is back with even more energy and strength with his new lp -interplant”. the emerging artist from madrid whose tracks are regularly supported by the likes of marcel dettmann, nina kraviz, maceo plex and john talabot, presents his new 3x12’’ long player featuring fifteen tracks. orbe’s early years in music were shaped by broken rhythms which is worked into the ‘internplant’ lp as he fuses futuristic and cosmic sounds as a nexus.a new step forward for his career and a sonic palette which he wants to focus on right now. hybrid sequences taking inspiration from andromeda/buchla lem3 spider synthesizers and sampling of old school breaks have helped to create compositions like “what happens with strangers”, “revival” “deejay drama” and “virtual environment” where orbe mixes classic and futuristic sounds to create something current and referencing his origins. other singles like “multi filament light” “closer people dreams” and “the old ideology” were written as visionary works without percussive elements. they include atemporal melodies which try to involve to the more exigent listener. “data nights” “thematic exploration” and “higher dimensions influences” show the artist’s darker and more techno focused inspirations. here we can find metallic industrial sounds fused with minimalist precision to create brooding tension. “unreal”, “interplant” and “subground dehumidification” lay focus purely on the dance floor, characterised as a dynamic peak time tool accompanied perfectly with harmonic and glitched out pads.
orbe label is back with number 006, fernando aka orbe him self and label owner hit us now rescuing an old gem from the 90,s made by damon wild sinewave new york honcho label & steve stoll main head from proper nyc and an artist who is already familiar and part of the orbe crew since 2014. the well known track - we left the planet - released on the golden years is coming back! but now including exclusive and functional remixes from orbe him self and the sergeant major spanish techno eduardo de la calle . the 12- plastic certainly will go direct to many record bags worldwide. both remixes have a very high grade of modern character maintained the freshness from the original track but mixed up with new and sophisticated elements. this are two large pieces of rare techno indisputably. essential record for those who love pure techno.
the new analog solutions 018 , label owned by the spanish producer eduardo de la calle, will be released in may.this time presenting a various artists, by kristina and orbe, that combine an ep with a personal character, full of floating arrangements and inherently techno flavor, but sophisticatedly dub. it seems that the label analog solutions will take refuge next references on collaborations lauching a series of various artists so better to be alert.
coherence is a new vinyl only series from be as one, a channel of expression with a different approach than the main label catalogue. techno alumnus orbe launch this new limited series with a double lp of dreamy, hypnotic and carefully programmed techno.
a nasa satellite has confirmed the ancestral tradition of the -music of the spheres-, that celestial bodies emit harmonic sounds. although the music of the spheres has led first to the notion of universal harmony and then symmetry, it has now been discovered that the sun s atmosphere actually emits ultrasonic sounds and interprets a score formed by waves that are about 300 times more severe than tones that can be captured the human ear. this time, orbe represents these sounds.
label honcho eduardo de la calle teams up with orbe for one of the most exciting asr releases thus far. repetitive, percussive and of course analog. two guys that know how to work machines on one of the most analog focussed labels around.
this time we represent >blue< as a point wich is the planet earth and >merck< that represent the medical pharma industry behind the control of this planet, thats the reason behind this two words in unity
crazy 12 track library music style album on this ace italian label. all based around bumping live rhythms triggering an obscure japanese drum synth module recorded in 2018. it was november 2017 when i received a call from an old friend, hi fabrizio, i found a rare japanese drum machine, you should come and see it before i put this on ebay. i went to check it out and immediately realized it had more potential than just drum sounds generation, it was able to produce quirky and creepy sounds if triggered by any sound source. so i bought it and brought in the studio, where me and alex were laying down new beats and ideas. it took just three days of jams to get the skeleton of this record done: i programmed the module to receive alex s drum hits and the device started creating synth lines, almost as it was speaking its own language.i ve found a soul in this machine, and i wanted to bring it to life in these tracks, a mix of arranged compositions and improvised jams. no root keys, no grids, no clicks, everything came out in an instinctive and natural way as far as we know it s the first time this synthesizer/drum machine is been used in this improper and new way.
remastered reissue of whitneys recording originally released on tape cassette in 1983. produced and engineered by walter whitney from april 1982 to august 1983 at subterranean sound studios, accompanied by carl weingarten and david udell s guitar magic sounds.

remastered from two private tapes (1990 -absolutely electronic and 1992 memories from times to come) that michel nolet the one man band used to share in the 90 s with other music collectors and hometapers from canada, england and germany only.

the torben unit band from berlin returns more experimental than ever whilst still being rooted between jazz and rock. after the self-titled first lp on money $ex records, the second album -sawaasch garahsch- will be out in winter 2017. no label – self-released. the new album consists of many episodes telling a story that couldn t be purer nor rawer. jazz-rock is the genus when modal madness meets electronic soul and psychedelic spheres. the spectrum of instruments being used is huge: from bouzouki to pearl s syncussion, there is no limit of instrumentation whilst the core of e-piano, guitar, bass and drums mostly remains. torben unit s concerts as well as the records are a guaranteed jazz-rock party with never ending feeling.
karl neumann: keys & vocals georg seibt: drums ludwig labuzinski: synths & effects valentin handrick: keys & percussion gerry franke: guitar & bouzouki max graef: bass & rhythmguitar
the pieces were created as structured improvisations using a monophonic synth (primarily) along with a yamaha dx7 (borrowed from a friend) and possibly a guitar. recording was made on an older otari mx5050 1/2 8 track. mixing was done on a tascam m-50 console and a revox a77 1/4 machine. i recall the project happened in two bursts: i did half of it in september 85, then i finished up and edited the album together in december 85. i dont really recall making copies for anyone. i think i played it for a dozen people and that was it. just forgot about it. i remember jeff ament from pearl jam (green river back then) came by while i had it playing on my home stereo. he asked what it was and said he liked it. surprised me a little. with regard to overall aesthetic: i like the sound of machinery, but i enjoy the fragility of human error and human instinct. i like to put things into motion then climb aboard and drive. i can’t play an instrument (in the classical sense) for the life of me, so i’ve always just played things that are mostly choice rather than a convolution of style and technique. i guess you call that the brian eno school of rock.
live recorded on 2 track revox at koprod studio zürich in 1982 chapter 3 of mr. thoma having fun with the serge modular music system and tms synthesizer, accompanied by knut remond on drums. proto-techno monster lp.

remastered reissue of boutz two recordings originally released on tape cassette. all titles composed, arranged, recorded live, engineered and produced by georges boutz at home studio, from july 1981 to april 1983 (amber 7) and between january & march 1984 (silver eagle). weird spacey synthesizer sounds.
originally released in 1982, including tracks written for crosstalk (a science fiction thriller film made in australia) and other electronic themes, it was written, performed and recorded by chris neal in his home studio, using roland system 700 and roland mc8. in 1982 there were only a few system 700s ever produced and roland was more interested in promoting their more commercial system 100m (that s why it was credited on the 1982 original cover to give them a plug). the system 700 was developed by taro kakahashi and his team in japan as a direct challenger to the moog modular system. the orbeatize remastered reissue also includes a special bonus track remixed and produced in 2017 by jolly mare.
this is a selection of previously unreleased tracks created at home by enrico serotti, without any purpose other than the fun of playing with new musical devices. the tracks date from 1983 to 1999. a pretty long time span, coinciding with the transition from analog to digital technology. cover art by alessandro pessoli.
new band name, new lp, the former max graef band toured and worked on new music all year. musical progress, and the impression of not enough edge and rawness in a lot of recent music, inspired and motivated a majority of the recording. the band has grown as a unit and wrote a lot of material together this year in late night sessions. during 2 weeks of recording the new songs in the studio the goal was to try all sorts of instruments, amps and effects and be open to any combination of sounds. furthermore, they and engineer lutz fahrenkrog-petersen tried to capture and maintain the raw feeling of the live recordings using almost exclusively analog pedals and racks as well as keeping the editing of the recordings to a minimum. although bands like et cetera (wolfgang dauner), embryo or xhol have heavily infuenced max graef and his band, the result turned out very original ranging from distorted jazz-rock to experimental soul, electronic percussion workouts to free sound experiments and psychedelic rock. with some tracks being around 14 minutes long, it is better to let the music speak for itself though.
