assembly records have established themselves in the digital domain & now grace the vinyl shelves with the first in a series of limited edition samplers. there are only 200 copies available of this various artist compilation that features original work by manuel regnet (crossworld), sean roman (hot waves) and newcomers king & vilante. we have had lots of requests for this release, so only have a very small amount available - first come, first served!

numbernin6 is no new comer to the dubstep scene, but this is his first record for london label smokin sessions. the recordings are blissful and floaty, as you would expect from smokin sessions and really shows off what numnernin6 can do when he goes deep. the whole ep is masterfully produced and you can really hear these tracks have been given a lot of attention. i cant pick a favourite, but all 3 are a great listen. sit back, relax and spark it up rude eye!

heralding from the south of itay, samann was born in 1990 and has already developed a sound and substantial fan base way beyond his years. following a collaboration with the house legend chez damier,this is samanns debut solo release and comes complete with remix from man of the moment vakula. the originals on the ep have a distinct old school house flavour with a raw and underground edge. vakula keeps the melody but goes deep and trippy, layering a hypnotic bleepy riff throughout his mix.an essential tsuba limited release! there will be no repress and these tracks will not appear on any download stores. be quick!

rounding off what has been a busy year for idle hands comes a 12 inch from west country residents outboxx. this duo, comprised of jacob martin (aka hodge) and matthew lambert have steadily built a reputation for themselves with releases on well rounded and immerse. moving away from the dominant trends in bass music the pair have been forging a sound more akin to early nineties deep house - yet retaining a palette of 2011 sounds. here they present two tracks - >aporia< is a lesson in wistful house, all pianos and a sneeky bass drop half way through the tune. >cromwell< is a straight ahead house roller, but with enough sub to keep the bass enthusiasts happy. support so far from ramadanman and sven weiseman.

glasgows taz buckfaster - or just taz - was one of rwinas earliest discoveries.his two eps on rwina have leaned towards the dubstep side of things,imbuing them with the playful hip-hop inspired mischief that remains the rwina trademark, playing with dub skank on kingston bridge and sending off firecrackers of concentrated synth melody in nearly uncontrollable bursts on 20 red. he now makes a welcome return to the label at the end of 2011 with the neurotica ep with four brand new tracks of uncompromising glaswegian heat.

this is the first part (of four) of the much anticipated reissue series of drexciya s early catalogue, marking 20 years since the release of their first ep deep sea dweller , and 10 years since their final album grava 4 . one of the most influential techno acts ever, and part of the heritage of detroits underground resistance, drexciya explored techno like no-one else before: raw and uncompromising music that reflected the harsh environment of the city where drexciya was conceived, with a mythical approach that only added to their cult appeal. drexciya arguably stands for the darker side of techno and electro, made not only for the club scene, but a further development of the music as an expression and extension of the mind. journey of the deep sea dweller is a near-complete collection of their early works, released in four parts, with all audio remastered from the original master tapes. since the original releases have such a strong character and stand on their own, these reissue can never recreate the magic of those originals. instead, clone have stirred up the catalogue, taking tracks out of their original context, giving the committed fan a fresh experience and the new listener a document that is the best possible introduction to the aquatic world of drexciya.

a straight upfront pounding original from dutch producer mr jones is joined here on the remix by current drumcode favourite ben sims for a groovier, more funk filled workout. dublin based producer sunil sharpe rounds off the package with a seriously twisted heads down broken beat approach.
armory has been hammered all over by dave clarke for most of 2011 & mr jones is studio partner dave under the guise of unsubscribe. together they have already completed remixes for black asteroid & detrot grand pubahs with more to follow in 2012.

norm talley tackles techno. yes, you heard that right… in spite of 3 tracks on the original transmissions that fell a little closer to what the heads would expect from a very reliable source, it was that first one that everyone begged for more of. we must agree that those 3 minutes were just a little of a tease, so here is the full 9-minute extended cut of “man on the moon” that all of you asked for, and what a trip it is! certainly funky broken-beat techno is a new look for norm, but it’s pretty obvious in all 9 of the minutes here that this is a man from detroit making the music he knows best. there’s a groove and a touch here that speaks of soul and experience… although you may find this one in the crates of some of the new school techno elite, it’s safe to say they couldn’t have made it the way norm talley did. even if you remember part one you may be surprised where he takes it, but we’re even more pleased to say that “earth 2 moon” beats it at its own game. this one made our necks snap and heads turn the very first time.

after the success of the nothing special events a label of the same name begins. the events so far have been held at fabric of course and new york. the concept is simply that craig plays all night around live acts. previous guests have been pole, deadbeat, moritz von oswald trio, emperor machine, convextion, dopplereffekt. 2652, shackleton and conforce. the depth of craigs musical knowledge as a dj provides a sense of structure to the parties. the nothing special in weekly radio show format commences imminently. first release is by radionasty - the combined force of billy nasty and keith tenniswood.

if im a cliche were a home, fit would be the guest room. im a cliché has some relatives - whether distant or close - who happen to produce isolated gems that just have to be released. the first volume of fit gathers four dance tracks made by different people based in various countries. fitting im a cliches artistic view is the only thing they have in common, and it means a lot to the label.

local talk is proud to present the first release on their sub-label 1nce again. this is where we bring back classic and forgotten house gems from back in the day with new mixes and reworks. for our first release we have gone back to 97 and a producer known and respected worldwide in the house music community with more than 200 production credits under his belt. joshua michaels aka joshua iz perhaps best known for his collabs with dwayne washington as iz & diz but has of course used many other pseudonyms over the years for releases on labels like prescription, balance, classic, junior boys own, om and guidance. the return was first released on heard, sub-label to tom middletons evolution / universal language productions ltd. using his moniker circulation. the track can easily be described as a mammoth house track, clocking in just over 12 minutes. its one of those pieces of music that’s stood the test of time and why iz has been a major force in electronic music for so many years. on the flip much hyped duo prommer & barck stripped it down from its original costume leaving not much left of the source material resulting in something that we best could describe as old school warehouse meets uk bass. its pretty raw and definitely a basement sureshot!

it had been since the dj qu remix of walt j that we did something on our subdivision petite. you know, this is where we like to re-release those forgotten pearls, with a new remix on the flip. this time we chose for >on and on< by italian-living-in-scandinavia raiders of the lost arp. in 2003 >on and on< appeared as the d2 track on his album >4<. but we thought this track is so great, it deserved a full a-side. on remix duties this time someone we have been wanting to work with since a long time, patrice scott. we have been following his sistrum label since the very first release, and he just never disappoints. neither does he this time.

alex and bill met 16 years ago when bill signed one of alex s first productions (is this the rhythm? by rhythmnvibe) to a new york label he was running. alex, whose father lives in the us, was a regular visitor to the states and they sent many happy hours together hanging out at the sound factory bar and comparing maw dubs. when bill returned to the uk in 1996, they had a few sessions together making house music, though neither of them can remember why they never finished anything or, indeed, what became of the tracks. fast forward a few years and they finally got back into the studio to make sweet music together under the moniker hotel motel. since then they have created a rich seam of work that some have already described as, like salvador dali with his pants down being fellated by deirdre barlow. few would disagree.

the finding is the latest single from the cbs, other wise known as the world famous cuban brothers. this is their second single (misdemeanor jcity 001) to come off their eagerly awaited debuted artist album which is due out next year. the original is a funk filled odyssey which puts a smile on the face and causes the foot to tap of any listener! also on this package we are lucky enough to have two remixes. first up is the killer garage rub from the remix king doorly, backed up by another dance floor smasher from featurecast. this is a package and a half!

played by silicone soul, butch, kiki, troy pierce, dj t... bardia salour is a hamburg dj institution and music connaisseur, his dj-sets have had a great influence on the whole hamburg scene for years now. jakob seidensticker is one third of the internationally respected wareika trio. with wareika jakob has been producing and releasing music on well known labels such as perlon, circus company, eskimo, etc. as well as touring all over the world. both have a huge diversity of club experience to pull from and you can hear it in their productions. the duo have recently started a party called dance for fans here in hamburg. the concept is for a range of local events to spread innovation into the local club environment. after djing in various clubs and locations, they have finally found their base at the fulminant ego club in hamburg where they share their tracks with other djs and the ass shaking crowd in general. one thing is for sure, seidensticker & salours track selection and their dub influenced sound have been known to satisfy all hedonistic impulses one may have. after their releases on einmaleins musik & formresonance the two tracker katzenjammer is the next step. early in the morning is pure deepness and perfect for any warmup or after-party situation. midnight tar is the peak time bomb with understatement. from gentlement to gentlemen. from music lovers to lovers!

whether on his own or with nick hoppner as my my lee jones has been djing and making music for more than a decade. in 2008 jones released his debut full-length lp “electronic frank” on aus music. his solo releases and remixes have appeared on labels such as aus music, ostgut ton, liebe*detail and cityfox and last year, he did his first ever mix cd for the world famous watergate club. next up from the talented producer is a futuristic 4-tracker on aus, incl 2 remixes from george fitzgerald and midland. for the lead track moment, jones offers up a bass driven house number that hints at his jazz roots whilst pushing forward into garage territory. for the remix, george fitzgerald delivers his most straight up, heads down house production to date. next up is duvel, a characteristically quirky jones production, bouncy and deep all at once but with a bass line that will hold its own at peak time. midland steps up for the remix, twisting it into a moody multi-genre convergence like only he can.

this is a really strong release from viper and they have once again enlisted the production talents of metrik. on the flip he links up with vocal legend kathy brown to really put the finishing touches to this epic release.

its been 16 years since aquasky first started bashing out the beats on moving shadow and 10 years since they released the mind altering >777< on botchit & scarper. during these 16 years aquasky have messed about with most genres at most tempos... but always retaining their trademark bass and their retro rave vibes. and here we are... the first ep from their long awaited follow up album to >teamplayers< released on passenger back in 2006. going back to their tear-out roots and fully embracing the modern production sound of now along with a firm 140bpm footing, aquasky come out fighting. >raise the devil< is an albums worth of tracks that will awaken your inner devil... powerful, noisy, aggressive and militant. taking it back to the days when people partied hard in abandoned warehouses and muddy fields. but, i expect you know all of that already... its what aquasky do, and its what they do well!

after a short break aaron jays influence records is back with another top draw 12 from none other then liquid master random movement. having released an album on markys innerground label last year, random movement was keen to drop a 12 inch on influence and what a 12 it is. both sides are dance floor killers, both on heavy rotation at fabric and have been supported by the likes of spy, fabio, lynx, grooverider & bailey.

pleasure has put a lot of hard work into this project and its paying off. >cradle< and >slosh pit< have been getting a lot of love in clubs and on the air waves. the production is clean, crisp and the bass will blow your socks off. keep it coming killa bytes.

following the debut lp on ki, we have put together a few of our favorite artists to remix some tracks of their choice. it was important for us, that the artists kept their individual approach to their genre, so that we could get a very diverse release. first up is the japanese producer stereociti, who just released his debut album on mojuba records. he gives the title track >reisegefaehrte< his very own deep touch. second up is our close friend glitterbug, who seems to create a very own genre with his interpretation of >barracuda<. on the flipside stundman goes straight to the dancefloor. jacking beats and pounding basslines are his >reminder<. and as if p.laoss knew what the real deal is, he turned >subsistence< into a fata morgana trip back to the time when dub was really dub. perfect completion of what we expected from this remix ep.

after the successful start of the label with taron-trekka maria colors returns with a wonderful new offering from cellule eat. the three guys from paris and mainz have already shown their talent on french label minibar, and for their release on maria colors they are moving into even deeper territories with an exciting, jazzy house track. taron- trekka are on remix duties and have created a 9 minutes long journey into hypnotic and fascinating deep house – a true masterpiece with a very unique sound. the second remix comes from drei farben house who turns the original into a fuffy and highly elegant house track full of funky drums and soulful vocals – a warm and deep black piece of music.
