on this release we have two goddesses of drum & bass, the queens of the jungle ... diane charlemagne (goldie >inner city life< / high contrast - >if we ever<) and ladyroller (ez rollers >tough at the top / walk this land<) and what an honour to have worked with them both. still as much talent now as back in the day.
here we present to you 2x 140bpm straight up bass bangers ... simple as that. you know the protocol, turn it up load and keep it rolling till the morning...
to the line sees peak time breakstep action with a bass line that takes no prisoners on this relentless bad boy roller coaster of filth. late night hype is a very different beast, still plenty of bass for your bins, but this time a headier smokers paradise, complete with ambient pads and lush distortions.
its been 16 years since aquasky first started bashing out the beats on moving shadow and 10 years since they released the mind altering >777< on botchit & scarper. during these 16 years aquasky have messed about with most genres at most tempos... but always retaining their trademark bass and their retro rave vibes.and here we are... the first ep from their long awaited follow up album to >teamplayers< released on passenger back in 2006. going back to their tear-out roots and fully embracing the modern production sound of now along with a firm 140bpm footing, aquasky come out fighting. >raise the devil< is an albums worth of tracks that will awaken your inner devil... powerful, noisy, aggressive and militant. taking it back to the days when people partied hard in abandoned warehouses and muddy fields. but, i expect you know all of that already... its what aquasky do, and its what they do well!

following on from the furious 601 release we revisit the aquasky single and ask some mates of ours to go in on the remix tip and try and add some of their own bass induced mayhem and here, ladies and gentlemen, is the end result. not for the faint hearted or those of an uneasy disposition.
continuing on the passenger 140 bass quest we have a new signing to the label but certainly not new to the scene by any means! 601 has been bashing out the breakbeat / jungle hybrid for a while now and is one reason why passenger and label owners aquasky are revitalised by the scene.
a new year and a new audio attack from the passenger label. this year its all about the bass and how far you can take it. the first signing of the year is a new name to many (though not to his cousin nick thayer!) but hopefully one that you will remember after hearing this debut, bill posters. a young guy who hails from north london, bill, or fergus to his family, is a massive dubstep devotee. with his original track on this release he adds his own euphoric musical builds and drops and a melody that sticks in your head like chewing gum to your hair.
as soon as we heard the track >hold on< we knew there was one guy we wanted to get involved in the remix, 1xtra dj and technique records d&b maestro crissy criss who has been developing the sound of drumstep of late. here he hands in a real bass marathon of a remix, still retaining the vibes of the original but making them far more brutal and nastier..!
the debut release from midlands finest beat maestro is finally here on passenger records. and he lands with a 4 track whopper of a release! kelevra has spent the last few years releasing on a host of established labels including lee mortimers wearhouse imprint, pottymouth, pbr recordings, instereo and remixed and worked with some key names such as dj dan, jamie fanatic, d.o.n.s., klaus hill, bass kleph, 2 bit thugs, micky slim, hatiras ...
call it house, call it old school, call it new rave breaks, call it warehouse... call it whatever you like. what matters is the aquasky crew has designed two storming cuts to make the ladies bounce and the fellas break as the lights flicker and the speakers shake!
firstly we have the man micky slim, the head banger of bomb squad records and a man responsible for remixing the likes of calvin harris, dizzee rascal, the wideboys and jaydee. a filthy re-rub that wouldnt be out of place in an east end brothel or on the hardrive of any self confident ghetto celeb!
nice price deal !!! with over 150.000 hits on youtube for the animated video for this release (financed by the bristol arts council & the 3rd in the animated pimp tastic trilogy), the body snatchers are taking this project to the masses in their gold plated chariot of crunk. featuring the atlanta sensation that is sporty o who has recently signed a big deal with lil jons bme click label.
to celebrate the release of the debut long player of 30hz & baobingas the body snatchers album, the guys at passenger have decided to add to the album the 3 (three) music videos that were created for the previous singles (big ass, miniskirt/freaky ho/call me) which have generated a collective viewing of over a quarter of a million hits on youtube!
on the flip comes a remix by non other than meat katie and here he drafts in the engineering skills of the rogue element to tweak the mix. a bold and stomping remix takes this track into a new dimension and expands the influence of these intergalactic space pimps.
a side feat tom real vs the rogue element, winners of best remixer (both) and best producer (the rogue element) at the 2007 breakspoll awards as well as nominee for best producer in dj mags best of british poll (the rogue). this duo are on fire and this is their first single of 2007.flip for klaus hills gurn face. over the years klaus hill has been pivotal in shaping the face of breaks. as 2 sinners he has delivered tracks for labels such as distinctive, botchit, tcr and ministry of sound alongside remixing unkle, dj sneak, the beastie boys and more. gurn face is this mans tribute to his favourite state of mind
legendary bournemouth-based trio aquasky return with their 8th studio album raise the devil featuring 16 bass-heavy party tracks which include guest vocals and collaborations from lee mortimer, engine earz experiment, daddy freddy, ragga twins, tenor fly, mr. thing, pyramid, acafool, deja, roisin brophy, didjelirium and bex riley. this album sees the trio take it back to basics and return to what people expect when they hear the name aquasky! having been solid friends since the heady days of rave and acid house, the guys first hit the studio together during the jungle era and in 1995 aquasky was born, signing immediately to moving shadow before going onto release on some of the biggest and best labels including polydor, botchit & scarper, reinforced, good looking records, hospital, southern fried and mr. bongo. in 2001 they took the decision to launch their own imprint passenger as a place where they had free reign to unleash their full creativity and develop both their sound and the sounds of other acts.
