it s time for a fresh new release from the apollonia stable, and this time around we unveil four groovy gems from shonky and tolga fidan working together for the first time, giving us a winning combination and one which is sure to satisfy fans of both artists. the first track dynamo sets the tone for the ep, the bassline has a deadly groove, while playful effects dance around at the top end creating an immersive atmosphere. intergalactic vibes. after that comes bastille , which features a similarly jaunty rhythm with a variety of bleeps, chirps and twangs layered on top on each other to give the track its depth and character, while a menacing b-line does its dirty work in the low end.on the flip we get micro-ondes , a mysterious into the undiscovered lands of planet funk. you feel as though you ve been transported to another world, where warped creatures lurk, calling out for your attention. as for the bass, its rhythm is utterly contagious. finally americana completes the collection, maintaining the unusual use of sound prevalent throughout the ep it utilises a myriad distorted instruments. support in the low end comes via a tough, punchy bass riff.
finale sessions is proud to annouce a new member to the record label tolga fidan. he is really big with the romanians right now and we at finale sessions are big on his production and we bring this 4 track heater to let you know he does not fool around
DEEP SEA MOSAICS (TOLGA FIDAN, BARTAUB MIXES) (180G VINYL)
12" Vinyl UK20.03.18
following the widespread acclaim for ferro s the neverending story, lessizmore continues in its quest to highlight some of the most captivating practitioners of mind-altering house and techno. this time their search takes them to istanbul, shoring up with the considerable talents of mutlu san. this young producer has proven to be one of the most exciting artists in the turkish scene, already laying down a solo ep on petra digital. meanwhile he also works in partnership with fellow istanbul firebrand batu guler as bartaub, the pair having recently released the rhizome ep on the ever-excellent lumieres de la nuit.
yay is proud to welcome tolga fidan with island ep. two tracks for side a, -kompozistaperec- and -yergun” with electro-minimal sounds and aggressive grooves, accompanied by techno pad. on b side tolga proposes techno sounds with rhythmic breakbeat: -frimageltaperec- is mainly electro with space carpets. while the -island 33- is the perfect track to break the rhythm with warm and involving sounds. !!! providing good vibes !!!
moscow records close 2016 with a fantastic 3-track ep from berlin imports roustam and tolga fidan. this being their first outing together, the pair deliver a high quality, intelligent journey through minimal house and techno. the record opens with brodsky beat, a groovy, dance floor-focused track. lively percussion and tight bass communicate perfectly with the hope-filled lead to build tension throughout. the omega variant on the a2 has a much more abstract feel. broken beats and skippy percussion play back and forth with deep, spacey hooks and a peculiar synth, giving the listener a sense of mystery. finally, growing up is just a phase is a calming 14 minute trip that uses the entirety of the b side to tell a story of reassurance and calm. laid-back rhythms, guitar samples, relaxed vocals and a wandering synth line work together to form the perfect warmup track.
few labels could claim to share the creative purpose and pool of talent that cosmo records does. operating out of casablanca, morocco, the imprint has made its purpose clear, to fuse experimental house and techno with traditional african musicianship in a cultural dialogue that spans generations and continents in search of thrilling new musical forms. over the past five years, cosmo has called upon some of the finest producers in the most adventurous corners of 4/4 dance music to collaborate with players of the kora, guembri, lute and many more forms of percussion and melodic instrumentation. the chosen artists congregate at the cosmo recording studios in casablanca, which acts as a hub for these disparate musical energies to come together in a fusion of seasoned, learned performances and hyper-modern electronic processes. amongst the most notorious artists that have contributed to the label so far are masomenos, radiq, argenis brito and ricardo villalobos, while moroccan producer adil hiani provides a local focus to the electronic side of the creative process, as well as conducting the a&r for the label.
super elegant 4 tracker ep bringing together detroit influences and 90s raw minimal with a dubby edge by up and coming artists pablo tarno & anthony constands.. included tolga fidan epic house remix. a little gem marking release number 20 of serialism catalog.
what we have here is an album which is, if i may say, relatively positive and generally good for home listening. this album was recorded in about 10 weeks in a living room (the sofa being my bed), with restless swollen eyes at dusk and a love/hate relation with my machines, microphone and electric guitar.3 machines gave up on me during the making of this lp.i hope you will like it. tolga.

I AM JUST THE RAIN (TOLGA FIDAN RMX) (GOLDEN MARBLED VINYL)
coloured 12" Vinyl D10.05.11
with age comes maturity, or that is at least what one would normaly think. together the three men (jin choi, walker barnard & tolga fidan) associated with private golds second release, the >i m just the rain< ep, clock in at over 100 years… and yet this release is all thrusting crotches and wriggling teen lust man-booties. only kidding, the songs on this release are nothing if not mature. sure the aforementioned sex is there. in the cooing vocals, stompy bass and 60s psych of the contrapuntal guitar of the eponymous >i m just the rain< or in the jimmy edgar-like funk and grind of >revolution for the lovers<.
i just woke and its pretty cold outside. i havent opened the window yet, but i somehow know it and im listening to these six tracks again and try to make an approximation of why and how i have done this ep. they are pretty different from each other but tell the same story or at least are part of the same one as a matter of fact. maybe they were done as an excuse for my overdue album which is scheduled again for this year or maybe just because i was going through some odd times and needed to immerse myself in doing something. in this case music. more the latter i guess. ok so, the opening track is in a way the end of an era and the last one the opening of a fresher one. and the rest fills in the gaps in between those two moments i guess. i hate conceptual things anyways. i never know or want to know why i do certain things. concepts define something before it already begins its existence and trying to explain why is pretty useless. so here it is. the recording of a certain period of time in my tiny existence. with collaborations with jaw (dop), my brother atilla, who is also responsible for the artwork, and jonny cruz. by the time its out itll be a distant memory for me but hope it lasts a bit longer for anyone that listens to it
new kanada enters 11 with a an alpha ep from tolga fidan. haunting, percussive and emotional - tolga trots his mystical funk down the old thrace streets, and emerges with an ep full of personal darkness. >berg< is a mesmerizing monster of a cut, bristling with surprises. tolgas own vocal plays masterfully with dusty rave samples and woodblock jazz. watch this jack the shit out of the advanced dancefloor. >old< is a golden working tool, made for the mix. pounding drums and crashing chords. ottoman mathemetics gone wild.
sebastian lutz has accrued a huge fan base amongst the crème de la creme: after releases on do easy records, bcb techno, suchtreflex and boug.records, he has won huge support from the likes of carl craig, dubfire, loco dice, karotte and laurent garnier. his track >i m tellin u< has also been chosen by baba sven väth for cocoons >sound of the 10th season< ibiza mix compilation.
now he is hitting up paso music with another dance-floor rocker entitled >the alchemist<. a tune that has already seen chart action from tiefschwarz some months before the official release date. we can expect big things from this track!
>the alchemist< a slow burner, but one that will have you swaying into the early hours. echo-filled and marked by an aqueous harmony, its is without doubt, a winner. two superbly fresh remixes are also presented by tolga fidan and marc miroir. both guaranteed to pleasure both your ears and feet.
tolga fidan presents >rezil<, the latest one in the vakant limited series! whoever said >we need more cowbell<, will be more than happy to dig this tune. a little unusual in arrangement and sound for mr. fidan, rezil goes perfectly with the valt format.
tolga fidan, in his last tasty impartment on vakant before his solo debut album due out in october of this year, brings 2 full sides of the most expansive mind and body moving you will find outside of a gypsy circle on jupiter. if techno has a jazz fusion subgenre, a-side >gaijin< is it, making tolga our own personal chick corea with a strobe light.
next up and on ep 2 we have the remixes of tiefschwarzs - voodoo. bringing the black magic thistime is hungarian artist son-tec and the awesomely talented tolga fiden. fidens version is abrilliantly fresh, pacey, techy turn. with a host of crazy efx and driving bassline, he turns in a truedancefloor number. hungarian artist son-tec makes a debut on the label with his wonderfully moodymix. capturing the true essence of voodoo, the producer takes us on a magical journey.viva music have done it again. creating a monster of a remix package for the fantastic on the buse.p. and one that is set to rule your cd wallets, hardrives and dj sets for a long time to come. untilnext time...
urban nomad tolga fidan continues vakants limited series valt with a much sought-after track which has been around for a while. fidan, just moved to berlin a few weeks ago, says >so long paris< in such unique style that that we hope he will never leave berlin again. vakants valt series has been kicked off last year with onur Ízer and keeps on delivering music straight for the dancefloor.

NEDS (TOLGA FIDAN REMIX) / LISA (ALEX SMOKE REMIX)
12" Vinyl D05.12.06
on the second release from its remix imprint vr, berlins vakant label comes with the goods, turning out what might be its most far-out release to date - and at the same time, its most punishingly effective. going head to head, glasgows alex smoke and paris man tolga fidan tackle each others tracks, twisting up knotty rhythms and gauzy electro-acoustic sounds into a battered syntax that expresses one thing, move !!
all three tracks are solidly grounded in the blunt, toe-stubbing funk thats become a trademark of berlins vakant label, home to mega-talents of minimal like alex smoke, mathias kaden, onur Özer, and robag wruhme..
