detroit house at its best. amazing high tech jazz influenced 4 tracker by orlando b. after hearing orlando bs 2 full eps on germanys yore records, ric mcclelland & sean grieve head hunted the scottish producer for their seven music label. orlandos first outting on the belfast imprint was at the start of 2012 with a remix of giorgio luceris >one more time<. not content with just a remix, seven music asked orlando for some original works and here we have the >city life ep<. 4 tracks of chicago and detroit inspired goodness! the scottish producer and dj started making music at the age of 15 using an atari and notator sl. inspired by artists such as jeff mills, the advent, dave clarke and ian pooley, orlando began his career making techno. fast forward to 2012, orlandos studio is predominantly analogue based and his sounds have progressed to a deeper and more retrospective house sound. with 4 original tracks (1 of which is exclusive to the 12inch vinyl) the >city life ep< is arguably orlandos finest work to date. timeless yet forward thinking electronic music with soul and a record that deserves a place in any discerning djs collection!
already a classic! wonderfull. ric mcclelland & sean grieves seven music imprint are proud to welcome kastil to their ever growing family, for its 16th release. hailing from vitoria in northern spain, kastil is a new and exciting name in the burgeoning deep house and disco scene. his love of vintage sounds and equipment is ever present in his music. from beatdown jazzy funk to straight up house grooves, his productions ooze class and versatility! the >keep it simple< ep does exactly what it says on the tin. a quality 4 tracker that relies more on precision sound design and less on modern studio trickery. this is a release that will easily stand the test of time and sound just as good on a home listening system as it will on a big club rig!
next seven music by volta cab incl. amazing mark e remix. ric mcclelland & sean grieves seven music imprint is back once again. hot on the heels of their last release with robotalco and cottam. this time seven music presents an all together different flavour courtesy of russias volta cab and englands mark e. with previous releases on labels such as solar disco, apersonal and serenades, volta cab is a new and exciting breed of >dance< music producer. pulling inspiration in equal amounts from the past aswell as the future he is one of the few producers now that effortlessly traverses the sub-genres of house, dubstep, disco and downtempo. on remix duties we are extremely proud to bring you merc main man, mark e! your continued love & support is always appreciated!
new label by mastermind scope. mixup between deep, dreaming, jacking house. the list of involved artist and remixers needs no explanation. a little less than 8 months ago, ric mcclelland & sean grieve launched seven music as an outlet for their own material. in that short space of time, the label has grown dramatically. not only have they released their own material as scope, south west seven and sydney young, but the label has become a home for a wealth of new talent such as sumsuch, chilf, stephen day, replika and giorgio luceri. key players in the scene such as audio soul project, huxley, russ gabriel, ethyl and orlando b have also joined the seven music camp and helped the label continuously build. the label has accomplished a lot in a short space of time and this collection of tracks handpicked from the initial 10 releases is only the 1st chapter for seven music!
