the subdivision return home to paradise lost with the open your eyes ep: epic vibes, hypnotic bass work, and complex programming manifest themselves as what might be considered their best work to date, and surely a production which defines their unique style for building cinematic tracks of epic proportions. the structure is trademark tsd: a beautifully drawn-out breakdown compliments the progressively building tension, leading to a thunderous climax toward the end. this tune is more of a journey than simply a dj tool (although its a treat to mix with), and djs such as bunzer0, djunya, 501 and claw have used it to devastating effect in the mix.

the exceptional quality of these two pieces of music, combined with obvious dance floor appeal and a coincidentally similar theme made this pairing a logical choice. one side is a hybrid hip hop-dubstep monster put together by los angeles based producer bare. the flip is a drum & bass stomper created by accomplished british producer and long time basshead family member dj silver. both songs are a proven commodity for any bass dj and are causing ruckus on dance floors around the globe.

we dont need to tell you that rolando is a figure synonymous with the roots of techno. regularly djing in berghain, his unique brand of techno and heavy electronic funk has continued to evolve naturally into the sound youll here today. on rolandos first 12inch for ostgut, we find two diverse tracks each shedding light on the different poles of his current sonic focus. ben klock featured both >de cago< and >junie< on his >berghain 04< mix, and now we can enjoy the full tracks in their own right. the proud heritage of >de cago< is clear from the outset, yet rolando works crisp modern drums and edgy acidic synths into the mix, resulting in a potent concoction of jacking, edgy technofunk. unapologetically raw and gritty - and all the better for it - is >junie<. introducing a different production methodology, this multi-layered half-tempo exploration into eerie harmonics and slow building passages is the latest incarnation of rolandos emotional and instinctive melody writing

aaah lovely dovely, its that time of year again, the city is covered in snow, chestnuts are a roastin and wee little elves are working away busily pressing the annual home sweet home compilation for your listening and dancing pleasure. yep, its nearly that time of year again, the famed hsh new years rave at the arena/treptow in berlin is just around ye corner. yay! this year we have invited some dj and producer friends from berlin that are playing at the party to contribute to the compilation too! the lovely frenchmen shonky who has played at a few of our shindigs since moving to berlin and is known for his funky techno style has even named his track on a1 >madame moustache<, how very sweet ! snapping at his heels on b2 is our good friend from way up north (maybe he knows santa) and also a berlin resident agaric with his kicking track >after it all< which we are very pleased about. the flipside features some of our homies jens bond and tigerskin with a furious track on b1 followed by nico stojan our little bar 25 flirt with a nice melodic house track on a2 to round things off nicely.
