nick lapiens debut release as metropolis garnered little attention when it materialized last year. a skeptical yet dedicated network of underground heads built up a subterranean buzz that has yet to spread into the daylight. that initial transmission was thick with the raw analogue flavors that have become ever-present in dance floor fare recently—but his is a sound that is dedicated to the emotive, narrative aspects of electronic music rather than simple fetishization or passing curiosity in the days of yore. this, his second release as metropolis, shows a more focused and patient hand at work. the titular track on the a side is a deep, psychedelic groover. melodies, textures and sequences undulate and intertwine within a lightless atmosphere guided by lapien with optimum restraint. equally pensive and gorgeous, the flood serves as a machine’s beat-less foil on the reverse. made up of little more than feedback and two slow, echo laden arpeggiated sequences, this is reminiscent of jean michel jarre’s more sinister moments: a brilliant paradox of economy and indulgence. expect to hear more from lapien here at sequencias. he has many more dark corners left unexplored.

we have decided to publish these tracks as our first release because they took inspiration from the two words label name: eleusína and recreations. thinking about that ancient mysteries and hoping they could survive till nowadays and in the future as a aid of our poor life helped us a lot in composing these tracks.
the two track ep was compost almost interely by machines with a little computer aid. cause we are only humans and conditioned by our fears and weaknesses, we have decided to make them almost mono tracks to maximize the transfer achievement to vinyl. have we took the wrong way? we do not know, but we keep some time to reflect about that and find the best balance between stereo and mono that fits our soul.

after a break for over a year pattern repeat is back again with another two tracks on their own label. both kenneth & resoe has been really busy last year, so it has been difficult to meet up in the studio. but now they had the time to finish two tracks of deep dirty techno from the capitol of denmark copenhagen. again they set it of with raw dirty dub infected grooves and the a side starts up right away with the dub elements intact, and then keeps building through the rest of the track. after the short break a hypnotic atmosphere kicks off in best pattern repeat style. the b side starts slowly with an almost alfred hitchcock kind of atmosphere, with a dull kick underneath. the track keeps gettin more dirty through the 6 min. and 15 secs. it last, with more distortion added to the dub stabs. its a good way that kenneth & resoe returns since the last 12 inch they put out in december 2010, to set the stage for 2012.

until now duffstep has hidden in the seedy undergrowth of london always in disguise, clandestine and covert, ever plotting his imminent escape. this bid for freedom then, is called >getting to sirius<. sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, in ancient greek times sirius was said to mark the beginning of summer, where women became aroused and men became weak. duffsteps debut album >getting to sirius< is a blend of dub influenced, down tempo beats winding through layers of melody, synths and vocals softening the blow and giving a nice, warm and fuzzy edge to the thick slabs of sonic concrete. though you dont have to wait long before a nice big bass-line knocks you down on your arse again.

here comes the second release on the pattern repeat label. pattern repeat is a new music-project and label by kenneth christiansen, echocord & echocord colour label boss, and his partner dennis bøg aka resoe, running the baum label.the pattern repeat label will only contains productions from kenneth & dennis, and the music is focused on the modern berlin techno sound today, dubstep and dub-techno. pattern repeat will also release records on other labels, so far the first one is out on echocord colour. kenneth and dennis met eachother 8 years ago when they worked together in at that time famous copenhagen-record-shop >loud<, which closed 5 years ago. at that time dennis was more into broken beat, hip-hop and deep house. kenneth was already running the label echocord, and soon dennis started his label baum. the label baum is also like echocord, releasing dub-techno, and dennis started to release his own material as resoe, and builded up his studio the years after. 1 year ago we decided to try to do a new project together, working together in the studio, and now pattern repeat is born.

inally matt is going to unleash his much anticipated follow-up release on weave musics sister label. produced in the mood of this years arctic winter with tons of snow all over the country, it seems like matt had transformed that special vibe of cold dark days n nights into the noise making machines of his studio.

maverick us producer gunjack aka brian gibbs delivers an absolute crossover bomb. with early support by rag and bone crew, scorn, surgeon, stormfield and many other heavyweights in both the techno and dubstep worlds. >murda< is a giant dubstep/ hardcore/ techno hybrid cut deep at 45 rpm for that chest rattling quality. the sample, taken from ini kamoze >world a reggae< (out in the street they call it murda), makes this hard, freaky ride into total mayhem. >bruckshut s revenge< mick harris aka scorn had the following to say about this tune , >hat s off to gunjack! solid! a killer. really ****ing punk and proper! the way it should be done.< this tune has a deep droning intro leading us to a new twist on the techno/dub hybrid sound. this is the sound of consume. >down the ox< continues this hard lesson in hybrid dynamics! more off beat techno than dubstep.

nico purman (known from labels like crosstown rebels, mule electronic & vakant) is known for his unique dark and deep, yet funky sound, definitely the right man to bring us those first spring vibrationz...nico purmans first curle is already almost two years old. in fact he was one of the first people we contacted when we were in the process of starting up the label. simply because of his unique dark and deep, yet funky sound. at the time he had only released on modelisme, but in the meantime much respected labels such as crosstown rebels and mule electronic proposed him an ep, and also vakant took him under their wings. hailing from argentina, hes definitely the right man to bring us those first spring vibrationz...

the cologne based grossprojekt arose in 2006 from the rather coincidental neigbourship and clubbing friendship between techno dj and live act bastian bue?r and breakbeat producer alex cwicek. the year 2008 marks the end of their deliberate reluctance: their debut release on debox combines the different roots of the two artists to a new creative entity, resulting in an amazingly effective piece of techno in querschlaeger. raumkruemmung on the flipside works a bit like its own, streamlined transmission onto a straight bassdrum monotonous, raw and uncompromising.

wandering the mojuba sublabel welcomes a new project named tyche for its 2nd journey. like the first jc freaks record these two tracks on two paths sound fresh but classic once again! overall both tunes have a very hypnotic feel, which is capable of making your body move, although the approach of the tracks are diametral … but you better take a listen on your own
