„bassland prophecy“ war ein zusammenschluss von musikern aus südkalifornien, darunter alex xenophon (deep squared), stuart breidenstein (früher bei skylab 2000), alissa kueker (gesang) und maxx vaxx (euterpre, butterfly garden).

die band nährte und förderte die aufstrebende la-szene und war eine abtrünnige kraft in der elektronischen live-improvisation. anstatt komplette tracks zu komponieren, erklärte breidenstein per e-mail, dass sie musikalische „zutaten“ spontan zusammenstellten, indem sie dos- und hardware-sequenzer während der performance synchronisierten. ihre unvorhersehbaren sets, von illegalen raves bis hin zu behelfsmäßigen wüstenpartys, führten zu elektrisierenden, unvergesslichen klangreisen.
