we are happy to finally introduce our label newcomer and multi-instrumentalist lopal with his debut ep. teasingly and with great finesse lopal (@lopalmusic) intertwines powerful chords, twinkling melodies and a snugly baseline towards distant climaxes, which seem near and yet far away as he unhastily stacks up hypnotic patterns.

involve records delivers some fresh raw techno sounds from rising talent opal in its latest release. a four-tracker ep under the name of >burden of power< that displays quirky sounds, dirty basslines and hard kicks. a record that will melt your brain and burn your shoes, with fast beats and electrifying power. this is what the new generation of techno is able of doing, and this is what the future should sound like. once again, involve steps ahead of the rest and signs music from a young producer that will be heard loud worldwide.

counterweight welcomes to the label the rising berlin artist opål with this excellent 4-track full of techno ep... the title track, luminescence, is a rough and hard hitting 4/4 warehouse destroyer. -impala- reduces the tension and shows a more melodic side of the artist but still keeping his characteristic industrial touch. on the b side opål shows what is the definition of -driving- techno with -eclipse-, this is simply amazing. the last track is an absolutely outstanding remix by the italian artist pvs, who explores new atmospheric shapes and goes beyond simple 4/4 structures. pump up the volume, this is real shit!

ouch from a distance is the new label of former ostgut ton manager nick ho¨ppner. it s first release by desert sound colony has been very well received – opal sunn are a well seasoned hardware only live act very much in control of their repertoire, but also capable of captivating improvisations – opal sunn have got a recognizable sound driven by smart, often arpeggiated synth lines, on point drums and textures

in 2016 simon pitt and alex kassian formed planet sundae recordings. opal sunn ii is their third release. part i was out july 2017 with andrew weatherall taking a massive shine to it, playing all 4 tracks at a gig in barcelona. it was championed also by massimiliano pagliara, of ostgut fame. opal sunn is live-performance duo al kassian & hiroaki oba. formed in 2015, the pair have recorded countless hardware-driven improvisational sessions, puzzled together to create abstract musical journeys. the aim is to transcend the improvisational magic of the studio jam and funnel it into the live performance. having played at rainbow disco club 2016 in japan & atlas electronic 2016 in morocco,the pair took both excited audiences by surprise with their heavily improvised live sessions. opal sun ii explores darker shades of dance music.

after 2 first eps in 2016 on voxnox & arts digital, the young berliner talent opål comes back on the new swiss imprint bipolar disorder. the silem ep demonstrates opål’s ease to encompass both energetic, raving, or deeper techno style.
the main title “silem” takes the listener right away through a melodic journey aiming to warm dancefloors, followed by the dubbier, more classic/chilled “capillaries”. “cadmium” gives acceleration again on the b side with its stomping bass, before to close with “solar”. never forcing the audience, opål cares for details and atmospheres. his ability to experiment and blend genres insures him a unique signature in a driven, puristic, dub, leaning toward hypnotic style.

with the warmth of spring yet to bloom in full, the cold distant sun still reaches planet sundae, casting shadows upon tomorrow. as al kassian s encrusted diamonds on jupiter is still in orbit from last year, planet sundae takes a step into 2017 with a debut release from a far eastern constellation. we are proud to present you, dear reader, with the first part of a double dipped ep by opal sunn. these selected works by hiroaki oba and al kassian were recorded between 2015-16 in berlin, aimed squarely at that rift between the stark light of the everyday and the flurry of the dance floor.

black repress! with beauty warp ep, welsh born el choop finally gives his vinyl ep debut on etui records. the light green/white marbled vinyl opens with a set of raw icy chords, sculpted around a dark kick and glittering percussion. designed for the dancefloor, beauty warp is as light as it is heavy. the inner cut exhibits el choops deeper side with adrift in the opal fields. with a more conventional dub techno palette, it paints a dusty, gritty, and echo filled sonic landscape. reverse to find women (night), a 12 minute moody workout of melancholy chords and weighty lows complete with a set of polyrhythmic stabs that you just cant seem to count.

canadian duo mdd make their slam debut following on from their first release in 2018 on and imprint inner surface. unforgiving, dark and distorted techno at its best. somber vocals and murky atmospheres create a wicked tension throughout the ep. manni dee also features for the first time on slam and gives his contribution by remixing opal fall into a driving dance floor stomper.
