NO FRIEND FI DEM / RIPPER RIDDIM (CLEAR GREEN 7 INCH)
coloured 7" Vinyl UK18.07.16
after years without releasing any records, veteran mc tonto irie returns to the world of vinyl with ‘no friend fi dem’. under the name of tonto ranking, he partnered with danny dread in the 80’s and the two of them spearheaded the rise of the black star soundsystem. tonto irie would later help king jammy’s set reach new heights by working with all of jammy’s posse including wayne smith, john wayne, chacka demus, half pint, admiral bailey, tullo tand and many more.
we became instant fans of naram and art the first time we heard their music. since then we’ve had the pleasure of having them on subactive’s “taking over ep” with a killer remix and now we’re finally releasing a record with them. ‘ripper riddim’ is inspired by the obscure digital reggae music of the 80’s, where fat, dirty basslines and heavy skanks are the main dish of the day.
the record’s artwork is also inspired by this era of reggae music and limited to 500 copies on transparent, green coloured vinyl.
after having released the first vinyl from the talented italian producer strictly sound, we strikes back with another killer digital featuring the vital don derrick parker on the vocal attack.
inspired by the impression riddim from the late zen bow, strictly recreates the instrumental with his unique digital reggae touch. “long night riddim” was made using several audio hardware like yamaha tx7, moog minitaur, korg ms2000, beni dub reverb and echo, simmons sds among other n the strictly sound lab in london, uk.

cubiculo strikes again with a new limited 7inch vinyl. after dub units first release on cubiculo records, ganjaman ep which was also cubiculos first vinyl, he teams up with knd from portugal for a different digital style riddim where they have the veteran mc jah screechy voicing it. this is also the first vinyl release for knd where he has been involved with the portuguese reggae scene for years and now has his deserved vinyl debut. this release is really unique, where the riddim doesnt fit in one genre 100%. fat subass, wobble synths and 8 bit sounds make this release so original and very niche towards the listeners. we hope you enjoy this as much as we do. only available on 7inch vinyl with no repress and no digital! hand stamped / embossed white sleeve.
