from mountains and forests in nagano, hideo kobayashi arrived on the san francisco club scene and was inspired by west coast flavored deep house sounds, his name was cemented through his projects such as children of the drums on chez music and nagano kitchen with jerome sydenham on ibadan records.having spend hectic schedule for djing most weekends with local and international djs, he discovered his ability for bringing out the deeply aggressive side of tech house earn him a spot a tour every year since he was on tour in europe enthusing every floors on 2007. then he drew on these global experiences for his 1st album zero on 2009, assimilating and incorporating his significant balance of underground and overground touches.that led him into busy days for remixing works and releasing quality sounds on op dance music labels such as defected, kingstreet sounds, renaissance, ibadan and apt. international

straight japanese killer techno !!! tight, mechanical and brutal with an underlying funk, snow monkeys is the sort of multi-faceted beast that kobayashi is known for. the rough edges are allowerd full space to create tension but the track is tempered with some brilliant, shimmering and evocative melodies that slide into the mix for just the right amount of time before subsiding into the churning groove. one of the new school of japanese techno producer, a.mochi delivers a well pitched, moody version on the flip. pacey yet measured in its progression its a version that takes the originals tension to new levels and wont be a surprise for anyone who has heard his productions / remixes for the likes of figure, cocoon and a-wave. hideo kobayashi is one of the few producers who can skip from deep or vocal house though to searing techno with ease and snow monkeys is a perfect example of what he can do when it comes ot the tougher sounds

our japanese dear friend hidenobu ito is definitely overwhelming and it seems almost comically out of place. from alien hydraulics to percussive steel fractals he allows to take shape within the realm of impossibility. so, what follows next on numbolic records is a stunning lesson in subtle buildup of sound design. theres a feeling of constant movement and shaky energy that means his music never quite stands still. highly resonant and rapidly-panning drum hits act like flickering fluorescent lights. the result is a heavily abstracted layering and perhaps our most sonically release to date. every sound, no matter how tiny, is endlessly tweaked and picked apart. the 12 inch ep is rounded off with 2 prickly re-interpretations. dualism turns up the fog with a super-deep captivating and yet lovingly version. while ditch comes up with a characteristic throbbing dirty techno rework. another 4 smashing tracks by hidenobu ito are added digitally as well as two bonus remixes. kai provides a dance floor-approved version and the hungarian newcomer as we said made a cartoon spaceship to the moon. big pulsating bass kicks will drive you in that particular head-space, but before accidentally killing someone in love, we suggest go get this record instead and start dance! be numbolic!
