american dj & producer eric estornel aka maceo plex is set to relaunch his old moniker called mariel ito in 2018. the mysterious alias was active during the early 2000s and flourished from estornel’s experimentation on electro sounds before he would become known worldwide as maceo plex. he delivered a bunch of releases under this moniker during 2005 and 2006 including an ep on modern love and an album on scsi-av, to name a few. estornel will come back with a first mariel ito ep in 12 years. this new single titled 2e komst will land on january 26th on his fresh imprint lone romantic, that he launched with the recent maceo plex lp solar last summer. the ep brings two new tracks sintex49 and dmode90 that illustrates the electro edge of his sound with the recognizable obscure synths and electrifying samples of his productions. all tracks written & produced by eric estornel

the dub-ito label was founded on the friendship and musical vision of southern italian duo claudio mate and francesco mazzocco. the label s name is a play on words from different languages, giving a unique outcome the label s new series, nihon no toshi (japanese year) will feature ongaku (music) from the japanese underground scene.the ifrst release in the series is by the tokyo unit of rikinari hata and adam gyenes, aka soloist & second apartment, who summon up a reverberating analogue selection for lovers of industrial, ebm, noise and new wave. -untitled- is the perfect album for fans of cabaret voltaire, spk, suicide, and factory records.the album comes in a black disco bag with a 12&#8243,,, full color poster.

claudio mate & francesco mazzocco directly from dub-ito headquarter introduce for the third chapter of the label an artist that doesn’t need too many introductions... violet poison... during these last years violet’s music has been one of the most interesting alternative proposal also giving a great influence over ebm, industrial, techno movement with his dark/esoteric imprint. claudio and violet having a longtime music friendship, they both decided that it was the right time to do something unique. for this - voices from the hell - previously released exclusively on tape/cassette by hospital productions, got the placet for a new wax life directly by hospital main man dominick fernow.

dub-ito is a new label born from the long time friendship of the southern italian duo claudio mate and francesco mazocco (defrag). the funny name of the label is a mix coming from playing with a few words from different languages while talking about music, giving a unique outcome. straight uncompromised beats meet proper dub-techno landscapes, with a special deeper remix version by fabrizio lapiana.

our japanese dear friend hidenobu ito is definitely overwhelming and it seems almost comically out of place. from alien hydraulics to percussive steel fractals he allows to take shape within the realm of impossibility. so, what follows next on numbolic records is a stunning lesson in subtle buildup of sound design. theres a feeling of constant movement and shaky energy that means his music never quite stands still. highly resonant and rapidly-panning drum hits act like flickering fluorescent lights. the result is a heavily abstracted layering and perhaps our most sonically release to date. every sound, no matter how tiny, is endlessly tweaked and picked apart. the 12 inch ep is rounded off with 2 prickly re-interpretations. dualism turns up the fog with a super-deep captivating and yet lovingly version. while ditch comes up with a characteristic throbbing dirty techno rework. another 4 smashing tracks by hidenobu ito are added digitally as well as two bonus remixes. kai provides a dance floor-approved version and the hungarian newcomer as we said made a cartoon spaceship to the moon. big pulsating bass kicks will drive you in that particular head-space, but before accidentally killing someone in love, we suggest go get this record instead and start dance! be numbolic!

eric estornels lone romantic releases -anomaly-, the new ep of the veteran english-born, france-based producer carl finlow. -anomaly- is the 3rd instalment, following estornel’s maceo plex album -solar- and the return of his mariel ito alias with the -2e komst- ep, remarking the distinct sound of the label once again, while pushing a step forward at the same time. with the relaunch of mariel ito, the electro and idm alias of estornel, that was active in the early 2000s with releases on modern love or scsi-av and that will see a retrospective album from that time on r&s records, lone romantic is a new suitable platform for carl’s music. however, from the 90s until today, his vast catalog traverses through the most relevant labels out there such as warp, soma, klang, scsi-av, novamute, satamile, electrix and his own 2020 vision. -anomaly- is a four-tracker showcasing classic electro schemes with ease. a frenetic mysticism and a meditative melancholy stand behind the most innovative trajectories of funk, within a mood much divergent than the usual conservative reverence towards the genre.

itokim, aka tendo-based producer takuro ito, aligns with dj bone s subject detroit label with the subject japan: rhythm poems ep and his opening gambit certainly leaves a dent. -motechnique- has been a staple of bone s 3 deck attacks in recent months and it will have eyebrows raised and mouths open from the off. weighty but warm kicks start as they mean to go on, bursting with pace and vigour as thrusts and stabs pinprick the brooding chords. the laidback, easy-going connotations of the title to -roll up and shine- are very much the ethos and aesthetic of the production, as a playful, bubbling melody sets a warm and almost sugary tone from the off before being bolstered by a suave melange of full-bodied kick and dexterous percussion. itokim rounds off his first outing on subject detroit with -the mood device-, a to the point groover that melds elements of the previous productions to stunning effect. a genuine builder of a track with a straight and true trajectory, -the mood device- melds innumerable coatings of percussion and synth as stabs are layered and layered again, clotting and coagulating the composition in to one delightfully deep and multidimensional slice of formidable dancefloor composite.

no doubt, daniel herrmann alias flug 8 does polarize. the principle he follows through all releases during the past years is an atmospheric melancholy that has got to fascinate. tuning would not exist without detuning, and a mood is a mood. this may be understandable easily. however, those who get into his music can expect much more from it.

* back with the heat, chicago native dj jana rush kicks off objects limitedÕs 2017 with her debut album ÔpariahÕ. jana rush received attention for her mind-bending drum acrobatics on last year s Ômpc 7635Õ ep also released by objects ltd. jana started djing aged just 13, releasing her first record on dance mania back in 1996 but having a hiatus from music between 2000 to 2013. with ÔpariahÕ she has created an album rooted in chicago s footwork sound, but with a myriad of influences, such as jungle, acid, soul, jazz and house, developing her sound on from Ômpc 7635Õ. * we kick off with Ômidline shiftÕ whose breathy, clipped erotic vocals intertwine with a pulsing bass and dry 808 rims creating a shimmering robotic effect. moving on, the frantic Ôbeat mazeÕ confuses the mind with white noise rushes and interlocking snares. changing the scene, ÔdivineÕ is sweetly soporific and charming, a beautiful, almost eerie track. the pace picks right back up with Ô??? ??Õ, whose warbling jazz clarinets cut into a juke bounce. the stripped back beats of Ôbreak itÕ give one room to breathe before the croaking bass and distorted acid of Ôno fuks givenÕ.
