when talking about the current status of house and techno in brazil, the names davis and zopelar will inevitably pop up. the two fgureheads of sao paulo s vital electronic music scene are both responsible for the in their feelings label, as well as being known as residents of the odd collective, a very popular off- location event series. this summer, they will play several gigs in europe, including some highlights in germany like the melt! festival, panoramabar and robert johnson. it s defnitely the perfect timing now, to drop their debut ep on connaisseur and we are certain that this release will cause some major waves. three tunes for three different occasions. enjoy the diversity! try catching davis & zopelar at one of their europe gigs. more info can be found on their facebook profles.
we were very happy to be asked by connaisseur recordings if they could put out another album with our music! now it s all come together and they ve asked us to do our own press release for it and quite like the album, we want to do it in our own way, personal and from the heart. it s been a few years since our last connaisseur album, and a lot has happened since. we ve built a new studio, matured musically, acquired new gear, sold old gear, done a lot of gigs, lost faith in music and regained it again. the process of making the loneliest man in space (this album) was a genuinely pleasant experience, as we never really set out to make an album at all. we didn t conceptualize or have any grandiose plans, we simply enjoyed ourselves in the studio. inspiration was running high, so we focused on making a lot of music uninterrupted, rather than signing tracks, which left us with quite a bulk of unsigned material. the idea to release these tracks as an album came from our friend alex, at connaisseur. we instantly jumped on the idea, listened through the material, taking some tracks out and composing a few new ones, to make it sit more together as a whole. we tried to come up with a title that would ft the feeling of the sum of tracks and settled on the loneliest man in space. as the album, to our ears, sounds a little melancholic and a little spacey. we sincerely hope that you enjoy the album either as a listening experience, a dance experience or something in between!
just in time for ade, we are more than happy to present a new release by one of our main protagonists since our renaissance. lehar has made a fascinating career in only two years, he is a key member in our label family as well as diynamic and plays gigs around the world. his -white diary ep“ is his most unique release so far, with two original tracks by him and two dub versions by uk house legend charles webster. -the cave- is a very touching track which again shows lehar’s love for deep but popish moments in his music. again, he has teamed up with l.a. singer rush midnight, who already lent his voice to -number one hero“, which was released earlier this year on the diynamic sub-imprint 2diy4. an instrumental version is also available in the digital package. the title track -the white diary“ is a demanding and hypnotic builder, which was already played often by solomun during the summer. this is a next level lehar track, signature sound structure combined with a highly effective arrangement. a winner for many situations. charles webster has been a favourite of the connaisseur label heads alex flitsch and martin henkel for ages. requesting a remix by him has been on the connaisseur bucket list since day one. he gave -the cave“ two different dub treatments, one better than the other. his -dub the first“ already takes the original one foor deeper, making it very timeless and hypnotic. his -dub the second“ takes it even deeper and is adding a proper portion of trippiness. music for the guardians of the real stuff!
rebellion der treumer remixes.

right after having dropped „connaisseur“, the epic collaboration with olderic, on our 10 year anniversary release, peter pardeike now fnally presents his solo debut. living in cologne, peter is mostly known for his collaborations with marcus worgull on innervisions. his own musical infuences can easily be traced to his club socialization in the 90ies. with the title “love supreme“, peter pardeike delivers a monster of a track, which we are sure you will not forget. when the remarkable vocoder choir comes in for the frst time, you will feel it reverberate though your entire body, making it stick in you mind forever...
lehar - flora & zephyr ep (feat. musumeci) approach with a strong recognition value, which may be the secret to his success. each element of -horizon remains in your mind after having listened to it. a guarantor for this summer, for sure. the closing title of this ep is -flora-, a timeless and alluring cut with a dub-techno approach. its subtle power comes from its deepness. it is simple but full of universal brilliancy. lehar - -flora & zephyr ep- (feat. musumeci).
great buzz around this record already without being officially released:
lehar remix #13 groove charts
adriatique remix had massive plays at bpm festivial + bpm boiler room
ep on heavy rotation already by john digweed, mano le tough, kollektiv turmstrasse, tensnake, acid pauli, matthias meyer, alex niggemann, tiefschwarz ...
sometimes, there is a certain attention for a new artist and you can actually feel that this one is about to go through the roof. this is exactly the feeling we have with few nolder right now. with releases and tracks on boso, suol, cloud vision and not to forget his little summer hit *if* on connaisseur in late august, the vilnius resident has caught quite some attention over the last months. now, he completes this successful and busy year with his frst full ep on connaisseur called *moli*, featuring three new lovely tracks.
after few nolder, italian fellow lehar aka lorenzo esposito is the second new signing for connaisseur this year. apart from his residency at the cirq club in venice and regular bookings at some of the best clubs and parties in italy and malta, lehar truly is a very talented producer as well. some of you might have heard the free download for lehars remix of kollektiv turmstrasses classic *tristesse* which has caused some attention on him the past weeks and was therefore the perfect precursor for this release. his demo impressed us very much and both titles really hit our taste. and as though this wasn t enough, together with his demo he delivered a remix by his friend and probably hottest producer of the moment: mario basanov, head of the label boso and mostly know under his moniker ten walls.
nobody can deny the fact that vilnius in lithuania is currently a very creative and agile place. first and foremost mario basanov of course, whose ten walls moniker swept the board last year and whose hype seems to have only just started. his popularity was heightened by the start of his own label boso. it took off with the highly praised -walking with elephants-, which was already one of the biggest tunes of this summer, before it even came out. the second release is by few nolder, another highly talented native from vilnius, who showed frst signs of life on connaisseur with his lovely tune -space espace- on our last edition of livingroom techno as well as with his remix for -canto d amore- by marco effe & francesco carone. -clouds- is the name of his boso release, and it looks to be the next big thing for this young label. for his frst own release on connaisseur he delivered -if-.the fact that it is different from his other output is why we have decided to present this tune in two versions as a 10- vinyl-only single. the original is a summerish and catchy house cut with a bouncy bassline and a slightly uk-approach.this tune makes you move without there being much you can do about it. the alt version goes deeper, building up with a question/answer theme until a strong, driving piano element joins to complete the track. lovers of older pokerflat releases will truly enjoy this version.
CONNAISSEUR ICONOGRAPHY PART 2 (PRINS THOMAS, BAIKAL REMIX)
12" Vinyl D17.10.13
when we released thors yellow sky over reykjavik on the first part of our icelandic lost tracks series in 2010, we were proud beyond words to discover such an outstanding and still unreleased track from one of our heroes from the 90ies.
what a year for lake people so far. apart from several excellent releases and remixes, like his outstanding interpretation for chymeras classic >caprica burning<, the leipzig-based act is busy playing gigs around the globe. earlier this year, he had his first south-america tour, north america is following this summer. his lowkey and touching live-performances obviously work excellently. we are now more than happy to present the next lake people ep. four tracks, no remixes and each of them a pearl on its own. >into< goes a bit in the direction of his hit >point in time< on krakatau, while >stepwise< and >come over later< reminds of the timeless electronic approach of acid jesus or soylent green releases on klang elektonik

due to its black color, the raven was often a harbinger of death in western culture, brought to you in conjunction with dark deeds. but according to native american medicine teachings, light comes out of darkness and the color black is associated with the source of all energy, creating new realities - with the raven as its messenger. silky raven, namely jakob seidensticker and henrik raabe, have dedicated their work to this process with projects like the havana boys, seidensticker/salour and wareika. on the remix duties we first have october, who delivers an homage to the lfo-influenced sound of the 90ies, raw and pure. and second we have a remix by visionquests shaun reeves and jay haze, who join forces to create a dubtechno- influenced pearl, perfectly rounding up the package.
some of you are probably asking themselves: where the fuck has patrick chardronnet been the past years? its not like he has not been productive. patrick has been very busy and we are sure most of you have heard his works, even though you had no idea they were his.
since he left his role as a respected indie producer and drummer, and threw himself into the alluring dark paths of the electronic club scene, things have only moved in an upward direction for holtoug.
DEATH BY MISADVENTURE - INTERPRETATIONS PART 2 (CLEAR VINYL)
coloured 12" Vinyl D20.12.12
next round for chymeras >death by misadventure< interpretations. this time, both remixes were made for >an island in space<, definitely one of the highlight tracks of the album. on side a, uncanny valleys jacob korn, who just released his debut longplayer >you&me<, turns the tune into an intoxicating hymn somewhere between house and techno. catchy, and with a wonderfully positive atmosphere, the track is pure bliss. on the b, dutch techno veteran orlando voorn delivers a piece of properly driving melodic techno. several melodies entangle to one big sound collage. there is no real beginning or end, like a neverending jam. a very unique track and so much more than a useful tool...
> rebellion der träumer< (rebellion of the dreamers) is so much more than an album to us. it reflects kts development over the past years, assimilating experienced impressions and presenting another side of kollektiv turmstrasse. it reveals our true nature and what we really are: träumer - dreamers. a great deal of love, time and passion was invested into this album, aiming to touch both heart and mind, and to entrain you on a musical journey. we have created the tracks >uneins< and >goldmarie< together with florian schirmacher (wareika, federleicht, hatikvah) - inga goldien supported us with her voice & lyrics on >ein teil von dir<. thanks to both of you! meanwhile, our soundtrack for dreamers had inspired several artists, filmmakers and graphic designers to work on the visualisation of some piece...
the connaisseur family welcomes its youngest member: ava myra flitsch. the daughter of hilary and alex flitsch was born november 15th, 2011 and both the parents and good friends of the label celebrate this miracle with this release. all participating artists were asked to produce a very personal piece of music. the style was left up to the artists, resulting in a beautifully mixed batch of great tracks. the intro track hello! by dop & masomenos features a little vocal snippet as a salutation by masomenos adriens son and it is an atmospheric, soundscapish and beatless tool.
we are more than happy to present the second part of the remixes of kollektiv turmstrasses rebellion der träumer album. the first part with interpretations by jimpster and robag wruhme already created a big buzz and we hope to continue like this with the uneins remixes by our scandinavian connaisseur darlings of norway and living legend aril brikha. the a-side of part 2 features a version of uneins by our oslo based homies and connaisseur protégés of norway. they take the original parts and blend them according to their own voodoo-tech vision. the result is both catchy and extremely danceable. the b-side offers one of the rare remixes by swedish techno soul wizard aril brikha who delivers an epic monster. is is techno? is it house? is it deep house? it is everything and nothing. but one thing we know its simply timeless! expect more remixes in 2012
british house producer alex jones is giving you the creeps, with a smile on his face. his latest release features three trippy tracks of dark and edgy dancefloor charm. >have it your way<, (produced together with london artist shenoda) and >5 minute warning< are both featuring the haunting vocals by allan winfield. chilling synths collide with hypnotic basslines and a driving rhythm programming that is full of twists and turns. entitled >the goldsmiths row ep< alex jones first record on connaisseur recordings, bears more than one reference to his hometown of london.
heavy support: laurent garnier, richie hawtin, luciano, robag wruhme, catz n dogz, john digweed, tobi neumann, simon baker, meat, dubfire, charles webster, maceo plex, acid pauli, claude von stroke, minilogue,..

the longawaited counterpart to the world famous: eve by day !! big with: anja schneider, adam beyer, joris voorn, steve bug, joel mull, dominik eulberg, james holden, laurent garnier, solomun, ripperton after admired releases on poker flat and of course connaisseur, things were a bit quiet around patrick chardronnet. these days are over now! patrick returns with a big bang offering this wonderful double a-side on connaisseur recordings and opens a new chapter of his delightfully, trippy & emotional adventures. enchanting, mesmeric and deeply touching, these two up-building tracks are reinforcing chardronnets hypnotic side once again. boggler is a simple and reduced spacer that features wonderfully processed drums and an endless arpeggio hypnosis. the track works highly effective only with a few elements until the beat comes back after a massive break. underlined with a strong sub-bassline, the whole track starts to fly away and is taking the whole dancing crowd with on its journey. eve by night – a counterpart to >eve by day<, patricks biggest hit so far, starts rather smoothly and upbuilding. then the track turns to a skipping, complex and meandering monster, which is jacked-up with some dirty hats and a playful synth theme. the theme deconstructs more and more and a logarithm assembles the parts of the theme to a new and unexpected melody experience. sophisticated !
in addition to our first artist album on connaisseur >estroe – elemental assets< and after the vinyl extracts for >le flaneur< and >updraft<, we present the third single >late night thinking< with interpretations by ripperton who just finished his album for green and one of netherlands best men: melon. all 11 remixes will be released as remix album in digital plus a few remix extracts on vinyl. look forward to more remixes from audiofly, steve rachmad, beatpharmacy, roberto rodriguez and nuno dos santos. rippertons late night take #7 mix – surprisingly different from his last productions is this piece of very organic lowslung addictive groove music.
in addition to our first artist album on connaisseur >estroe – elemental assets< and after the first successful vinyl extract >le flaneur<, we present the second single >updraft< with interpretations by joel mull and our man from the big apple tedd patterson. all 12 remixes will be released as remix album in digital plus a few remix extracts on vinyl. look forward to more remixes from audiofly, ripperton, steve rachmad, melon, beatpharmacy, patrick chardronnet, roberto rodriguez and nuno dos santos.
updraft – the second remix extract on vinyl is by true veterans in techno business. the first rework is done by joey mull, who delivers a straight pumping but still melodic dance floor mover.
in addition to our first artist album on connaisseur “estroe – elemental assets“ we present the first single “le flaneur” with interpretations by kollektiv turmstrasse our weimar homies christian rottler & deer. all 12 remixes will be released as remix album in digital plus a few remix extracts on vinyl. look forward to the next packages with remixes from audiofly, ripperton, steve rachmad, melon, beatpharmacy, joel mull, tedd patterson, patrick chardronnet, roberto rodriguez and nuno dos santos. le flaneur - this vinyl extract contains the original version of the track - a melancholic detroit-pop pearl with the lovely voice of miss kittin on top plus two remixes. the first remix is the mindbending kollektiv turmstrasse wald und wiesenreh mix that shows in an impressive manner that the two rising northern stars developed their trademark sound to even a higher and more grown-up level. with their “stumme apotheker rmx” the infamous duo christian rottler & deer give a lyrical answer to the original, its starts as a rather acoustic guitar tune and slowly morphs into a trippy and charming debaucher.
big with: lee jones, gabriel ananda, ante perry, motorcitysoul, lützenkirchen, luke solomon, solomun, shinedoe, claude vonstroke, masomenos, 3channels, martin eyerer, coccoluto, dave ellesmere, peter kruder, ashley beedle, brendon moeller,
its been a while since the last release by mark august on connaisseur, but now hes back with an extraordinary one. two tracks, both like a fairytale of a country far, far away. a fable, with mystic and mysterious animals and creatures, might best describe what mark had in mind while working on the tracks. the wasps from tunisia and the silver piggy – the main track on this release is an uncommon piece of music. it starts moody and with a stoic pumping beat, yet also a somehow laidback feeling. it then unexpectedly and surprisingly builds up to a monster of a track, working manically towards its climax. then however, over the length of the track, it completely transforms again, coming back to its beginning, as though nothing had ever happened. scorpions groove is a deep and dubby affaire.
huge 2 track ep with very unique minimal tech - tribal groover... the first track comes from timo maas and santos and alessandro salvatori (all three guys are the mutant clan) the track kenesai is an impulsive drum affair with a catchy melody !! the 2nd track comes from pele: a groovin brazil infected hypnotizer !!!
big with fabrice lig, funk d’void, dj hell, jimpster, steve bug, 2000 and one, michael mayer, karotte, sebo k, kiki, gregor tresher, satoshi tomie. in 2001, art bleek started to release his first tracks on compilations. he played the saxophone alongside deejays and started spinning an eclectic blend of jazz, nu-jazz, broken beats, bossa-nova, world and electro jazz records in hip parisian bars and restaurants himself. at the end of 2004, art bleek signed a record contract with lounging records. he released his first album there, followed by a single, two eps and a remix album.
INTERSWAP REMIXES PART 2 (CLAUDE VONSTROKE & MINZ RMXS)
12" Vinyl D31.01.08
big with steve bug, jimpster, ewan pearson, james holden, kiki, sebo k, crock, marc romboy, agoria, mike monday, 3channels, fabrice lig, 2000andone, james flavour, pascal feos, philip sherburne,… big! plasmik – our connaisseurs for deep and oldschoolish techno tracks, were quite successful in 2007. their interswap release from april 2007 found its way in several top dj charts and on great compilations and mix-cds. due to this and also our celebration of our 20th catalogue number, we proudly present an extraordinary remixpackage, split into two parts. part 1 features supertubos in a remix by another king of oldschoolish techno – matt o brien. on side b, afrilounge gives mindpattern a special string treatment. part 2 has to be in no way inferior in the choice of the remixers. on the a-side, claude vonstroke goes with pitch it as deep as he has never gone before and on the b, perspectiv newcomer minz gives the dancefloor a lesson in hypnotizing state of minds
big with c-rock, ben watt, agoria, tiefschwarz, mike monday, shinedoe, miss jools, 3 channels, fabrice lig,…! estroe and zoëxenia already teamed up for connaisseurs compilation grand cru 2007 with their wonderful track >dont forget<. this time the ladies share a split ep with one original track and one remix of both. estroes >driven< was already a big success on connaisseur supérieur at the beginning of this year and found its way on some important compilations and cd-mixes like ellen alliens fabric mix. beside her production activities, estroe is a remarkable and stylistically confident dj. famous in the netherlands, but also slowly recognized outside her home country. zoëxenia is a singer and songwriter since her teenage years. her impressing presence combined with her soulful voice made her succeed at the finals of diesel u-music benelux as well as at grote prijs van nederland in 2004. but not only singing is her passion. when she was infected by house music she began to develop her own electronic style as a producer, which ended in her first release on artminimal in spring 2007. more releases on remote area will follow soon
sven väth open air burner & also big with steve bug, claude von stroke, mike monday, c-rock, kiki, orlando voorn, satoshi tomiie, dj yellow !! mark august – just exalted by innervisions for their secret weapons mini sampler, known through his outstanding contribution on our compilation >grand cru< and his amazing releases on mezzotinto and curle, he enters our label family fully now with his first own release. his tracks declare his love to detroit techno and house, somehow modern but with a classic understanding. when he goes live, you should be prepared for something extraordinary. a wide colourful and dynamic pallet of sound that may amaze in its deepness but will rock your mind and body nonetheless. old joy – there is no happiness without sadness. this cognition was the initial point for this extravaganza. this timeless track sounds like a fine blend of an old djax-up record and fresh neodetroitish ingredients. its long build-up makes >old joy< a perfect match for the open-air season 2007
next sure-shot from the berlin boys plasmik – the success that these two brothers have already had with their first release >eight to nine< and their remix for ripperton is impressing. licensings for steve bugs fuse sampler, loco dices time warp mix and jamie jones get lost mix are just a selection of their current achievements. furthermore, they will release an exclusive track on crosstown rebels. the crowd and the djs love their style. inspired by us-techno cuts from the middle of the 90ies, they transfer and interpretation of this sound into today. with their newest release, they raised their understanding of dance music to a new level. pitch it is a dubby house track with pitched piano elements and a catchy hookline. this outstanding tune, which is already in heavy rotation, was licensed for claude vonstroke s mixmag mix.
essential compilation! already played by sven väth, karotte, laurent garnier, jimpster,…. >grand cru< is a term used in the wine business and normally denominates a special wine, which is made from the best grapes of both one wine-producing area and one vintage. the stylistic diversities featured on this compilation arent less refined and versatile. at the same time this compilation boasts of a representative selection of artists who already released on connaisseur as well as up-andcoming new members of our artist pool. this selection is the beginning of a periodical series which will be released on a yearly basis. apart from afrilounge coming along with an elegantly lowered house groove, another artist who has already released on connaisseur, surely jochen trappe will be setting the benchmark with his glitch-rock-tech track. there are more familiar faces to be encountered – for example daso teaming up with his ingenious partner pawas. they both make even the most lame couch potato taste their own very special beaujolais and freak out on the dancefloor - blood , sweat and tears!
supported by: sven väth, steve bug, mike monday, miss jools, karotte, satoshi tomie !! childhoods end is a massively bouncing detroit-influenced tune with a dominating chord theme you will not forget. this track has a story: when we received the first version almost one year ago, we already knew this could be a big one, because of the wonderful chord theme. however, we weren t completely convinced by the mix down. the improvement of this tune became a mental trip for pele. by producing his final version, he acquired so many skills, that with this track he has left his fledging stages – which is why this production is called childhood s end
big with: damian lazarus, kiki, jimpster, ripperton, p.toile, m.monday daso franke, a fellow well known not only for his fantastic releases on mbf and connaisseur, but also for his furious live-sets, sets out to bring the noise again. after having been inspired by the nerdy world of old-schoolish adventure games for his last release, he uses the dissolute world of absinthe as an afflatus this time. he takes us to a land where alluring little green fairies buzz around and people cut their ears off under absinthe’s massively woozy influence. thujon: the impact of well-made absinthe depends on its concentration of thujon. it can best be described as a kind of heightened clarity of mind and vision. and this is what this track is all about - 100% thujon! louche is the name of the cloudy effect you achieve by adding water to spirits, which contain anise, like absinthe does. this track starts with a low-key groove, which forces up to a mental dance affaire, including a genuine rocking daso-esque break
ripperton released amazing records on famous labels like planet e, wagon repair. for our last release on connaisseur in 2006, he saved two outstanding tunes. >tainted words< is a killer club hymn combining two mesmerizing parts. >tainted words (plasmik rmx)< is deeper than the mariana trench. plasmik, our new boy wonders from berlin, grab the outstanding original, vivisect it and recompose it into a deep underwater journey. a must for lovers of deep detroitish cuts. >farra< is far more than a track. ripperton specially dedicated this one to his family and his closest circle of friends. a very personal and pleasant soundtrip, more a song than a track – a short emotional story teller
incl. motorcitysoul rmx !! dani casarano, better known under this dj-name tony mass, is a famous dj in his country of choice: chile. born in italy, grown up in the french part of switzerland, he is a widely traveled cosmopolite. his dj career started in lausanne in 1992, where he quickly became well known because of his explosive combination of techno and house grooves. in 1997 he arrived to chile as a guest of luciano for the techno culture party to play along chilean top djs like ricardo villalobos. nowadays he just finished his club tour through europe, several releases on well-known labels are planned and he can look back on hot sweaty dj-sets together with top class djs.. el zapo hablo is a wonderful dreamy and floating tune. the emotionality in this track is more focused on a winterlike atmosphere….
incl harmonic lovely anja schneider rmx !! plasmik are the brothers roman and marcel fritz. both originate from black forests finest city freiburg, located close to the swiss border. the time came, when both went different ways but now in 2006 the brothers hooked up with each other again in berlin and continued where they stopped ten years before. since then they are on the quest for that timeless sound, which fascinated both in their musical past so lastingly. the first results of their promising reanimated collaboration are the tracks >eight to nine< and <ahead>
jochen trappe is back on the map and his message is clear, the summer is over, its time to go nasty !! jochen features three completely freaked out tunes somewhere between techno, electro and nut techhouse - sphistically arranged and straight into your face
dasos (mbf) first release on connaisseur will feature his more techno oriented side, without losing his melancholic, beautiful and extremely kickin sound. we are very happy to welcome daso with his awesome three-tracker on connaisseur..
markus productions were located inbetween pragmatically crunchy funk and dreamy minimalism. having released on festplatten and traum, he has now found his third homebase on connaisseur, where he shows his groovier side... to complete this stunning release, we have added a remix from mariel ito aka maetrik !!!
raphaël ripperton from lausanne started his dj career in 1997. among other clubs, he started spinning at the famous loft club/ lausanne in 2001. in 2003 he produced the winning album of the diesel u music award with >sounds natural< by reasons. in 2005 ripperton was one of the winning remixers for laurent garnier s >controlling the house< remix contest. furthermore he released a record with his project rayon on crosstown rebels, which was used by damian lazarus for his compilation >suck my deck< and by carl craig on the fabric mix 25. today, apart from his rayon project, he is working on a project called lazy fat people, together with mirko loko, which will be released on james holden s famous border community label, beginning of 2006
afrilounge is known from their collabo with patrick chardronnet on poker flat and their releases on get physical! massive 3 track ep with tracks between minimal, techhouse, acid house and electro... already supported by agoria, m.a.n.d.y., mathias schaffhäuser, chloe, c-rock & many others.!!
the album title, as you might know, means >through hardships to the stars<, and that is precisely wareikas motto. you could say, that the trio from hamburg is the hardest working bunch in the music business.
a great deal of love, time and passion was invested into this album, aiming to touch both heart and mind, and to entrain you on a musical journey. meanwhile, our soundtrack for dreamers had inspired several artists, filmmakers and graphic designers to work on the visualisation of some pieces.
