tokyo touch down: ovum welcomes one of japans most consistent techno producers in recent years ryogo yamamori. the man behind the well-respected 951 imprint and a dj schedule that frequently sees him demonstrating dark strategies from korea to canada, ryogo makes his ovum debut with a tight tech triptych

stl has been a firm favourite of phonica records ever since his first releases surfaced in the early 2000s. although he is highly revered within the underground scene, hes always kept a low profile and consistently pursued his own blend of boundary pushing abstract and experimental house & techno. the majority of his music has been released through his own something imprint but his unique productions have also found a home on perlon, smallville and detroits echospace. the two tracks on the amplified bleep package ep marks his first contribution to phonicas white label series and were extremely happy have him on board.

during the last three years a new name has been making waves at ostgut ton and berghain: berlin born, raised and based producer kobosil made his debut with a remix of barker & baumeckers silo (ostgut ton, 2013), completely unknown at the time, he has quickly earned his stripes as a dj on the clubs main floor, eventually becoming a resident at berghain. following up on five subsequent 12 releases and kobosils first live sets, his debut album sees him covering yet new ground in the form of a full length release.

coils is the latest offering from santa ana, ca native evan geesman. fresh from the success of his release lengua, with co-signs from bandcamps head curator andrew jervis and osunlade, his new work finds him delving deeper into his production palette interspersed with his songwriters aesthetic, resulting in a decidedly denser sonic soundscape than its predecessor.

the eee ep is the all fresh debut from ensam, local vandal and core member of solkyss. born and raised troublemaker, he dropped out of school to make his way in to music. luckily he could spend his days hiding in his fathers basement which resulted in his project progressing secretly over the years granting him a distinct cinematic groove with deep and atmospheric aesthetics.

cromby is an exciting addition to the london house music scene: originally hailing from belfast he has made camp in the british capital and brought his mpc 2000 xl with him. the young man who has grown up listening to chez damier and moodymann makes use of the japanese sampler from akai in a highly fresh and creative way combining raw drums with sweet and melancholic pads and chords. on his * planets and parks ep* cromby displays a very nice balance between a traditional deep house understanding and a forward thinking attitude and is thus just perfect for tenderparks’s idea of musicality. as far as the artwork of the record is concerned the beautiful black and white image is the last part of tenderparks current series concieved by art director till sperrle and photographer magdalena bichler. and as you ve come to expect from tenderpark all tracks have been mastered and cut by helmut erler at dubplates & mastering once more.

largely sequencer-based composition practices opened up barera s usual hand-playing approach and allowed him to create rich and melodic, yet precise and powerful techno. -the opportunist- conjures images of arriving in darkness, taking what you can, and leaving quickly to avoid detection. -discipline- is barera s full-on workout, with all the rushes associated, itself very much a product of discipline. -a new future- suggests an optimistic if uncertain outlook, a world where anything is possible, while -last glacial maximum,- which refers to a period in the earth s history when ice sheets were at their most recent maximum extension, represents a somewhat bleaker view. the musically kindred spirits behind massachusetts-based mentha records are ideal partners in this project, warmly embracing barera s wide-eyed techno concepts.

the art of omission is a craft new jersey native joey anderson masters like few others. after releasing his acclaimed debut album after forever in 2014 and the 1974 ep earlier this year, anderson returns to the dekmantel label serving up the signature sound we love him for. invisible switch is the perfect example of what anderson can do with very little, catapulting him to one of the finest and most original techno and house producers to date.

goldmin music label founder romain lanteaume alias einka meets detroit minimalism master terrence dixon aka population one for a truly conceptual techno 12-.. terrence dixon is one of our favorite artists and biggest inspiration.. detroitborn artist released his first 12- back in 1994 followed by several quintessential records and 2 epic albums -from the far future- on legendary berlin-based label tresor. terrence is not only a great techno producer who makes subwoofers roar in clubs, he is a man obsessed by a concept, an idea that he s following from the very beginning.. -minimalism- in the reaaaaal sense of the word.. for example, when thousands producers are wondering what s eventually missing in their new track, terrence is rather wondering what s useless, what could be removed and that s definitely what he gets to share on his own -reduction- imprint. after the release of terrence s track -steve austin s mile- on goldmin theme lp, romain got to meet him in detroit during summer 2014. the aim was to make an abstract record that could still be linked to a feeling or a situation.. a1 the edge track is probably a good example as it s designed and built to make you feel like you get closer and closer to the edge while the track is slowly growing until you fall.. can you feel it? :) as for the other tracks, there is also a special idea behind them but we better let you interpret it your way

atlus is a young man with the world on his shoulders. he holds it from misty glasgow, where he spends most of his time in the halls of rubadub. in the three songs on this epic ep, he lifts up party-melting disco house, clanging ambience and bubbling techno – and not for a second does he hint at letting the ball drop. the first of many, many records from him, we hope. this kid’s a titan.

after the very polish and the very soviet cut-outs, zambon continues his endless trip around eastern europe with another excursion. now it s time to follow him and dive deep into dance music of former yugoslavia. the very first volume of the brand new the very yugo cut-outs exposes a little known scene of editors based around the cult club 20/44 in belgrade, serbia. a duo of djs and producers called kompleks is responsible for three edits here, while the label boss zambon supplies the last one. tracks range from poppy new wave of jakarta group from serbia, through psychedelic rock of seid memic aka vajta from bosnia, yugo boogie of kim band from serbia/macedonia and sleazy synthpop of videosex group from slovenia. the unique vibe and amazing skills of yugoslavian musicians from the rich and unfortunately still little known scene are guaranteed to move both you and your local dancefloor. hvala!

agostino casillo, born in 1985, begins to approach music in the late 90s, influenced by the house sounds that characterize those years. never shut up in one genre, his desire to experiment led him to deepen the knowledge of all the trends related to electronic music, from house to techno, from deep to nu disco. out of every scheme, his productions are very eclectic. he is currently resident in one of the most innovative party of neapolitan underground scene, nice to be. in 2013 he release his first track “sick” on stop clone music, in january 2015 his second track “my vision” was released on “nice to be records”. make it right ep is an abstract of all is musical background caught up into four great tracks.

lillo carillo is a young italian dj and producer with several years of background behind. born and raised near the city of naples, he settled in milan from several years where he immediately fit in the circuit of the main local clubs, getting noticed for energy and creativity behind the dj booth. simultaneously lillo offers his musical skills by working with several italian fashion brands for which he is a sound designe. in 2014 he released his first remix for an ep vinyl with editors kutz vol.4, collaborating with manufacturers which are already known in the world of the nu-disco, as sleazy mcqueen and 78edits, therefor experiencing a strong success that makes him known even outside italian territory. after a winter spent in the recording studio, he is finally ready for his new ep on the newly released palm hands recording, where you can see all the talent and eclecticism of a young italian producer, a master in juggling house sounds, rnb, disco and funk.

there are some elements in electronic music that make them timeless, elements that if melted togheter they can give an impressive result, to the mind and to the body. sawlin - ursprung is the first album of the career of sawlin, after his debut in 2010 he evolved like a wonderful orchid, an orchid that never followed the flow of the other flowers around him, but found his own way to the music. ursprung is the result of an interminable evolution in the mind of the artist, 8 elements that complete a circle buit on a very mysterious athmosphere, like a film that you never saw, but you always had in your head, something more bigger then a memory, and something more deep then a picture.

after a 3 year hiatus making techno for various labels, orlando b returns to his deep house sound which gained him recognition with ep’s on yore, undertones and seven music. this time he brings us three contrasting house cuts on his new label contemplate recordings which will now be the primary output for his deeper productions.

detroits jared wilson provides the 10th release for super rhythm trax and it lives up to it s title.
on *plate mining* and *idea of a deep state*, jared goes in deep with lush, strings that sooth you as the 303 works it s magic underneath. while *how deep* provides a brooding acid line and works the percussion. minimal but deadly.
jared has long been on the srtx want list after proving himself as a master craftsman with a slew of classy releases on his own 7777 label. super rhythm trax is overjoyed to have him on the roster being one of the most skilled knob twiddlers out there who knows how to work it but also and perhaps more importantly, when to hold back.

nyc experimentalists sheik n beik add to a series of successful parties in the capital as well as an extolled slew of 12”s from the likes of legowelt & xosar as xamiga and jeffrey scott with another weird and wonderful record courtesy of sheik n beik founder julio operating under a new guise: rechulski. also hailing from nyc and a regular at the collective’s parties - rechulski offers up a celestial 3 track ep as his debut and in doing so offers up an insight into a left-of-centre approach to production that lends him perfectly to a record with sheik ‘n’ beik.

alex north’s work for ballet, symphony orchestra, television and film continues to stand the test of time almost 25 years after his death. although nominated 15 times for an academy award, it wasn’t until 1986 that he was finally given due recognition when a lifetime achievement oscar was bestowed upon him. but, as this soundtrack lp so amply demonstrates, his pioneering work on streetcar remains one of alex north’s crowning achievements.

one of the most talented musicians of the new york jazz scene but who frees himself completely from borders of the jazz to have a walk in 4 corners of great black music. leron is already well known from public thanks to guts hit man funk, it is also him the singer and the frontman of guts live band the featuring of bilal and simon, the leader of hiatus kaiyote.

our third to last release combines two driving forces of contemporary techno: homegrown benjamin damage is joined by truncate, a deadly combination for any dj s bag. ben damage s -battle- sees him layer his hyperactive grooves over a thumping kick with a small but effective acid line topping things off. truncate s -86- is a massive track dave sumner aka function previously used in his -berghain 07- mix, obviously serving as one of the highlights in there. it s creeping synths build up to a climax in typical truncate fashion, with huge, compressed kickdrums pounding the dance floor mercilessly

felix dickinson and jaime read met in brighton in 1995 when jaime was producing music for felix’s label ugly music. united by a love of chicago house music they held a 5 yr residency together in their hometown brighton. during this time jaime continued to make music for felix’s label as well as on his own label push 2 shove under the moniker lhas (the larry heard appreciation society). they soon found homes for their tracks on doc martin’s wax records, the belgian label eskimo and felix’s new label cynic music. more recently they have released tracks for tsuba and rong as lhas inc. there is a remix by neville watson. you may know him for his work with kink or his releases on clone and creme.

city fly are very excited to present their latest 12 inch, this time coming from long time friend of the label and all round powerhouse kez ym. the leicester label have long been representing for the east midlands underground house scene, bringing local talent to the world and bringing global connections to their locale. hot off the back of their 10th release celebration va and a strong offering from legend tim toh, the japanese connoisseur kez ym is back with more of the goodness that has made him a favourite of the label from such an early stage.
the ep drips with kezs trademark blend of deepness, kicking off with the heads down groover of *bump into the sky*. next up *eagle eye* builds around crisp 909 drums and a super tight bass line. pure classic vibes from start to finish. over on the flip *my joy* is underpinned by deep, jazzy chords and finishing off we have *spiral traffic* which takes things to a new tip entirely with an almost latin feel to the chord patterns.

chris carrier’s brings us the latest installment from his ever-trusty adult only label, with a firecracker from julian alexander, a rudeboy from holland, utrecht to be precise. julian’s close ties with slapfunk records, the label that released carrier’s most recent artist album, make him the perfect candidate to captain this new release, which is full of murky grooves and simmering energy. across three tracks julian brings encapsulates that adult only flavour, kicking off with ‘butress roots’ a bass-heavy roller with an eerie overtone and a minimal make-up – watch out for the extended breakdown, it will send shivers down your spine. up after that we have ‘xy’ a more up-tempo, bouncing, dance floor destroyer. major vibes on this one. on the flip ‘point of view’ brings the energy down again, with a steady flow, and a slow-building pads together with an indecipherable female vocal clip that adds to the captivating atmosphere. carrier steps in to remix ‘point of view, closing out the ep with a punchy demonstration of his production prowess. raw.

studio is benny’s 5th studio album. not just casually called by its name. no, there is something else happening here. the word ‘studio’ originates from the latin word ‘studium’, which stands for ‘studying’. the studio is the place where painters, artists and musicians learn, study and create. it’s the place where benny is most comfortable. benny’s amsterdam based studio has an amazing view of the canals. studio is an ode to this place, which he built 4 years ago, and everything it has brought him. because it brought him more than just the music he produced there. it gave him his place in the world and with it so many other things. all of which is to be heard on his new album. you find him exposing true love, follow his search for a home, he opens up about settling down and he speaks of breaking through old patterns in which he found himself being stuck for years.

jesse calosso is a bronx-born dj and producer, part of a tight clique of new york artists that includes such luminaries as the martinez brothers and filsonik. 2015 has been a busy year for him. not only has he completed a mix-tape style album as masters at dutch with the martinez brothers and blas cordero, but also his tracks serving size and whatever right now appeared on the tuskegee ep the come up vol 1. he has dj-d at output in brooklyn, circoloco in ibiza and at seth troxlers acid future party in london to name but three. now, he releases a brand new four-track ep called the incoming on cutting headz.

uk techno stalwart ben sims adopts his ron bacardi alias for an outing on bass culture records, bringing with him three varying slices of 4x4-based music. d’julz has a deep penchant for bass and funk, and this is evident throughout the ep. we get off to a rugged start with ‘rock your body’, a deliciously dark slice of grumbling techno. intertwined with the morose bassline is a mysterious, tribal-esque female vocal, warped and twisted to add a primal feel to the track. on the flip, bacardi puts his a different hat on giving us ‘first effort’ a vivacious funk-laced hybrid, which teases you spitting out intermittent trumpets and other such live instruments. finally, ‘the money/dub’ goes straight into disco territory with that oh-so-familiar entrancing rhythm that will keep you fixed to its beat from start to finish. that filtered wah-wah guitar is impossible to resist, especially when combined with such crisp percussion. sheer quality from monsieur bacardi…

gari romalis keeps on surprising us all, with his amazing ability to produce solid chicago laced beats, full of groove and brimming with soul. so far his music has been released on some highly respected underground imprints, such as rawax, rue de plaisance and bosconi records amongst a long list of others we couldn t be happier to have gari joining us on our vinyl catalogue, plus, along side him for remix duties, esteban adame, half of the renowned los hermanos. esteban is a key member on the ur crew and has been also releasing incredible music on labels such as underground quality, or his own ican productions, which he runs in collaboration with santiago salazar.

uk house veteran phil asher arrives on rekids with the latest project in his storied career, a collaboration with emergent london poet & musician james massiah. having chanced upon him a performance during a fiona bevan presents night at dalstons servants jazz quarters, asher immediately approached massiah about a possible collaboration: as soon as i heard james i knew i had to work with him. his poetry is infectious, textured & interesting. time & space took years to imagine but 25 minutes to write. it took james approximately the same amount of time to lay his poem down. asher approached matt edwards with the results, and the time & space ep was confirmed for release on rekids: two original cuts of futuristic house emboldened by massiahs electrifying street poetry, and a reprise version of the title track which steps away from the dancefloor to bring the lyrical content into sharper focus

the idea that france once had a genius and let him go to california where he was more welcome and appreciated than in paris is, in the digital area, a trivial issue. every single web entrepreneur heads towards the silicon valley to develop his ideas. during the 70’s, this was less ordinary. back then, it was another area, music, which witnessed the departure of a very talented guy for the united states, a country that quickly understood he was a star. marc cerrone, a trained drummer and disco phenomenon who sold more albums than many other artists put together, saw his career magnified by america but also slightly twisted by france which quickly reduced him to a style, disco music, without trying to understand who he was and how relevant his talent was. his path went through two phases, two complementary moves.

marc cerrone became the star of incredible live experiences in paris and elsewhere. as if, after having spent the first step of his musical career elaborating his repertoire, he’d chosen to devote the second one to make it live permanently. firstly on stage, then through younger generations: when bob sinclar samples his music or invites him to collaborate, it’s a new way for cerrone to keep his main ability alive: make crowds dance. a talent which most of his younger fans - todd terje, prins thomas, james murphy and a whole generation of cosmic disco lovers - agree to and get inspiration from. from 1976 to 2014, cerrone, whose discography makes so many others jealous, never stopped playing and keeping his beat which he considers vital. and if disco music had to be summarized to one artist, one creator, it would be him and nobody else. this exclusive double lp sounds like a tribute to his prolific discography, containing incredible remixes talented producers. a cd with all tracks is included.

luigis primo and unconditional beauty both made their way through the charts to become number one in the techno charts and we are tipping magic land to do the same! storming his way back onto drumcode luigi madonna closes off the summer with a 2 track ep smasher that will see him welcome in autumn with a bang. each track contains the solid, raw drums that are the backbone to each track luigi has conjured up. with a brooding undertone, the simplicity found in each track gives the lead lines and ideas more space to breath, which overall creates a unique and charismatic submission that can only be found from the italian.
