born to trinidadian and finnish parents in sweden, jean-louis huhta took an early interest in percussion punk, african, disco, dub, detroit techno and chicago acid were all early sonic influences. couple these genres with an interest in percussion, drums, synthesizers and skateboarding and you are half-way into describing the sound of dungeon acid.

having taken a break from releasing on the basic grooves imprint, shane linehan returns to his native label with a straight up house music two tracker. side a meditate on this takes inspiration from detroit styles. moving chords, slammin claps and a chopped up scat style vocal is what s on offer here. the b side -the unintentional dub is a stripped back eeh, dub true to the original bg style.

after their featuring on kyle halls boat party ep, the bologna based duo nas1 join the bosconi family with a lush six tracks vinyl strongly influenced by contemporary detroit house. a side starts with the chuggin and moody beat of -black coffee-, then continues with the stomping and sexy midtempo of -i don t mind- and ends with the more mysterious, electro boogie raw jam of -dallas vertical roll-. on the flip we find the slapped roadhouse blues of madturkey followed by the twisted gifted & blesseds re-interpretation of -i don t mind-. the ep ends with the melancholic and soulful textures of the shuffle groover -hoarse presence-. tasty!

asoks scenery imprint continues to go from strength to strength, with the boss man following up bantam lions recent recollections ep with a single of his own. hunter is undoubtedly the liverpool-based producer s strongest track yet, with woozy, soft-focus chords and alien electronics riding a dusty, analogue-rich groove. as with much of the labels recent output, there are distinct hints of mood hut, future times and mister saturday night. experienced producer versalife reworks the title track, turning it into a blissful chunk of drexciya-style electro. flip to the b-side for cabal, an ultra-deep and occasionally discordant concoction, and the fuzzy, detroit-influenced bounce of millennium 2.2.

for the next release, eklo 029 follows suit with another split ep with one artist taking each side of the vinyl. this time the label welcomes to the family rené audiard, known for his amazing works on imprint blank state and his great lp project * pechorin* released back in 2012. he brings us * glow*, a weird micro-house shuffling bomb for the a side, full of crazy ambiences demonstrating his vision of the berlin party ! on the b side, label head seuil keeps it bizarre with * model funk*. twisting the groove, he brings breakbeats and that detroit electro feeling on this microfunk number.

simone gatto, with his second release on out-er holzwege ep, confirms his artistic maturity and his serene approach to music and life, even if on ones way the paths can get broken. due to a perfect use and combination of prophet 12, arturia minibrute, virus and x-base drum machine, the sounds transmit deep and pondering thoughts the artist has experienced, peaceful in some cases, troubling in others. each track represents a motion against the difficulties of life: happy and discouraging moments happen and alternate, our actions cause consequences, and everything have to be faced somehow. the synths are melodious, timid and gloomy at the same time, indicating that happenings arrive, interchange and pass over. the patterns are detroit inspired and the beats always soft and gentle, never impetuous, while ambient and pads go with the groovy wave created by kicks, hi hats and basses. a journey that has to be lived, any development it brings.
