the second release from cassys new collaborative label kwench records sees new york native fred p turn in three stellar remixes of cassy & demuirs please me from the labels inaugural release from november. the remit for each release on the label is for two (or more) collaborating artists to produce original material, whilst a different artist will deliver one remix. however, after hearing three fantastic interpretations from fred p, cassy was adamant that the tracks were so special, they had to have their own release.
find your own records launches with ceri’s ‘life holstee e.p.’ and includes a fred p reshape. a strong debut for this new label, a record that fuses the darker and deeper sounds of detroit, berlin and london.
fred p aka black jazz consortium delivers a timeless remix, his reshape of the title track tantalises the drum grooves, adds his trademark atmospheric ethereal synths and reworks the bass in such a way that is unexpected yet astounding.
the b side ‘we do’ is the deeper of the three tracks, fusing mysterious vocal stabs with minimal funky drums and deep rolling bass.
whilst the music is at times deep and dark, the message of the ep is positive, the title track drawing it’s inspiration from the holstee manifesto, a manifesto that producer ceri aspires to live by. this message is echoed by the lyrical content of the vocal snippets used in ‘life holstee’. this is juxtaposed with haunting eerie moog synths, alongside variating funky analog drum rhythms and sub-bass.
with early support for the label coming in from the likes of mr. g, d’julz, paranoid london and more besides, find your own records is off to a flying start, we can t wait to see what else they have in store for the future.

a side with techno twists from skudge. b side with fred p. and his own trademark concrete detroitian and last but not least, dj jus-ed steps up with the final re-shape of the show.
amazing three different jobs that continue the legacy of cassandra throughout 2016.
crosses genre to find its own space, & soundscapes, downtempo, ambient, & house music all find a place. the record flows like a vague narrative, a non-specific sort-of passage, a meditative jazz-house trip.
what do you do when you are part-time bored, when you are part-time broke and – even better – when you claim to make and live dance music (of course, also part-time)? well you are obviously running a record label. this is what johannes albert does since 5 fun years and 20 releases. releasing his own music on vinyl but also his mates stuff. frank will celebrate this anniversary among life & happiness early 2016 with two 12 inches and a lousy tour. fred p lifting us up right from the start with his “energy cloud”. soulful drum workouts make peace with heavenly layers. far out bliss. next in line is good friend iron curtis who is calling for sweet operators. flip side offers our session victim boys first time on the label. lets have some moody juice wit hauke & matthias once and for all! hidden beauty is the kind of track you wouldnt expect from tim toh of philpot fame. well its a beauty and now not so hidden anymore. lets just be frank shall we?
april will see alex danilov, notable dj and producer from yekaterinburg, release his music on arma. published along with reshape by fred p., three original tracks constitute the noises ep — the second release of the label in 2016. being welcomed to diverse clubs throughout russia and europe, alex danilov has all the experience needed to know how dance music works. his own productions are about finding the way to sustain deep mystic atmosphere within signature low-pass rhythm picture. side b, containing both original and remix of unknown numbers, shows how this approach varies from classy style of fred p. aka black jazz consortium. noises ep is the 12th release by arma. the cover features artwork by p.kuznetsov.
we are new york bound for the second release from rex music, as we invite the charismatic boss of soul people music, fred p-aka black jazz consortium to bring us an exquisite ep, which holds true to his persona: elegant, deep and refined. like the chronology of a day, evolving from dawn to dusk, fred p takes us on a journey through three well-crafted tracks to compose an intimate ballad. ‘wave patterns’ sets the tone with a smooth, airy atmosphere – minimalist yet progressive, it will have you enraptured as the subtle pads weave in and out of the background, dancing a pirouette with the low end. the dubby, hypnotic ripple of the bass ushers in a bright glow like sunrise at the beginning of a glorious day...from there, we move on to side b where ‘continuous sensation’ accompanies us until sunset. soothing and playful, with a delightful string riff and mellow, warm bassline, it’s full of the joys of the daytime. finally, fred p closes out the ep with a harder, more angular workout. ‘unbroken circles’ is made for the twilight hours, when the sun has set and we’re wrapped up in a warm, dense evening. simple, mysterious and crisp… a great way to finish up an outstanding ep from our man, fred p

anyone who followed the development of house music made in the usa in the last decade will certainly have met the art of fred peterkin aka fred p aka black jazz consortium. his musical set phrase isn t following new trends. fred is often simply melting shuffling percussions with elementary melodies. but he does it in a sense that the heavy used and abused phrase -deepness- finally gets a fresh truthfully new meaning. this new project is directed by miho in collaboration with robert drewek, the owner of respected label rawax. it is a special edition ”rawax - aira ep vinyl series-. concept and mission will always be, to connect and invite great musicians who produce and create -essence of the real music”, not following the trend but let the music speak itself with groove, melody, vibe, energy and soul.... roland has made evolution in dance music all over the world in 80 s, music needed those machines, and machines needed those creators of music. aira are not rehashing of the legendary original tr or tb, but respecting those great machines from the past, aira continues to evolve toward into the future simultaneously, newly developed, new generations tools to keep the music alive and to bring more possibilities for the future.we seeks out this exciting movement of dance music history, as the music lover who has actual experience the flow of this evolution, and connections between musicians and machines to make their musical pieces on this project to inspire listeners and to challenge the genres they represent by each series.

cem enters the spm universe with deep experimental vibrations that conjures imagery in the imagination. his genuine approach to other music make this ep very special. it is a true find for those who are not as others.
parallax 01 - debut release showcases 3 of tel-avivs emerging electronic music producers. a-side is defined by tv.outs hard-driven machines and pharaohs hard jackin house miniatures. stamp-side features two deeper house cuts by jerusalems yogg followed by a killer fred p remix.
2014 repress with new mastering !! supported by: raresh, laurent garnier, kiki, dj sneak, karotte, lee curtiss, alex kid, jimpster, brothers vibe, etc.. i guess we dont have many words to describe this new esperanza in which we are proud to present on this vibe from the one and only fred p (black jazz consortium) and a delightful remix by sistrums favourite patrice scott. the original track is an amazing late night detroit ride which evolves slowly until it makes you feel floating on clouds. it may last 10 minutes but it s absolutely the kind of track you would want to be endless. on the flipside, patrice makes some twists and turns to the original track to put his own trademark signatures delivering another breath-taking emotional space walk. we are proud to release this record and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
fred p immerses himself further into his techno alter ego, bringing more depth and insight to the saga, using sound to transcend time and space. *serinatatis* starts off the proceedings with a relentless drive and lofty pulsating pads that give you the feeling of a dismal oasis, with its brooding bassline and obscure vocals penetrating the construct. *dark population* takes us further down the rabbit hole into deeper rhythmic vibrations. this hypnotic ceremonial floor shaker echoes the cerebral ethos of the ep. last, but not least, *convective zone* cracks the sky and lets the sun shine in with its rolling baseline and ethereal chord structure. homage to the term techno soul is paid in full here as a trumpet blares through without losing the depth of the moment.
FAR & BEYOND: SELECTED BY DUBBYMAN & ABOVE SMOKE (2X12 INCH, 180 G)
2x12" Vinyl, 180 g UK02.07.14
ten years of deep explorer. the celebration started with the capsule remixes 10inch that was released 2 months ago, now is closed with this far & beyond, a double pack vinyl where the brothers and heads of the label (dubbyman & above smoke) make their own selection of exclusive material into groove and dark deepest house tunes from artists worldwide.
(fred p rmxs) for the new single rescue, deetron calls on the beautiful vocal talents of george maple, which results in the ultimate feel good track. fred p brings his own different flavors to the table - twice!
jaunt records is the new project from the team behind the jaunt parties. for their first release, they call on two of their residents, blackhall and bookless, who bring the heat in their own inimitable way. the se7en ep is a release thats every bit as refined as youd hope for, while the remixes - from none other than fred p aka black jazz consortium and ostgut tons always reliable virginia - both neatly compliment the merits of the originals.
a lush 90s vibe haunts this first offering by new parisian talent voiron, but not one of simple nostalgia - one of real class. the glittering layers, futuristic architecture and spaceship motions of opener -radôme- bear the true density of some early warp and reflex classic productions. one doesnt need to go any further to feel that the sleek skyline and mental landscapes voiron draws here might be the natural extension of those started by aphex twins selected ambient works or even 808 states hacienda dance cuts.
considering the combined talents of detroit veteran terrence dixon and black jazz consortium man fred p, you d expect this split ep for finale sessions to be a lesson in warm, soul-flecked depth. pleasingly, that s exactly what it delivers. dixon excels with the sub-sporting alien futurism of -to the bridge- - the aural equivalent of staring into space while dancing to electronic jazz - and the sumptuous, minor key bliss of the casual deep house jam -starting over-. fred p, meanwhile, delivers two contrasting cuts. there s some acid-fuelled deep house futurism in the shape of -circuit-, and a chunk of bongo-laden dancefloor humidity in -the road-, whose rising strings and sweet melodies are arguably the highlight of a superb ep.
naoki entered the spm universe via earth tones 3 along with joey anderson and leonid nevermind. naokis music is understated, yet effective & there is a quiet restraint that leaves the listener wanting more.
selected pulls together material from mostly unfamiliar names like deepjust aquabeat, bassik grooove and bobby o donnell, alongside a couple of established heads like ryo murakami, aybee (as orion 70) and fred p himself, whose > n.y. (selected dub)<, a reshape of an old jazz tune, rounds out the compilation. > in the early days it was difficult to afford more than one or two records..< i would buy compilations because the value was greater and i was exposed to artist that i might not have known about otherwise,< he says. >when i think of compilations i think of mix the vibe, soul of science, trust the dj and of course dj-kicks. i learned a great deal from these series over the years and developed my own ideas based on what i love to hear thus selected was born. released soul people musics new sub-label, boards.
next up on visionquest is the second single from wareikas righteous and raw wternal album. all little things, here in its club mix incarnation, is another example of the trios hefty musicianship and unbridled eccentric energy, where jazzy textures and pulsating grooves build up with a rising melody to the powerful vocal drop. on the first remix visionquest & nikko gibler develop expansive piano melodies alongside an elasticated bassline and vocal snippets. fred p reigns over the b-side with his raw, deep hypnotic reshape and warmed up spirit dub. this is a distinctly diverse remix package from a rich artistic source.
coming out of new york citys flourishing underground house and techno scene is the debut release on play it, say what?, resilience sans relapse ep, from label boss and native new yorker, isaac basker, featuring remix work by nyc deep house master, fred p.
all tracks written and produced by jose cabrera in gasteiz 2013. this record is dedicated to all the people that made my trip to argentina such a great and special experience. thanks! additional production and reshape by fred peterkin
jose cabrera and fred p split the first installment of the perception series. the determinism ep sees jc and fp giving their slant on principles of quantum level events through sound. raw and driving, this ep is a more than an adequate dj tool, it is a formula for the transportation of the subconscious. determinism is a metaphysical philosophical position stating that for everything that happens there are conditions such that, given those conditions, nothing else could happen. “there are many determinisms, depending upon what pre-conditions are considered to be determinative of an event.” deterministic theories throughout the history of philosophy have sprung from diverse motives and considerations, some of which overlap. some forms of determinism can be tested empirically with ideas stemming from physics and the philosophy of physics. the opposite of determinism is some kind of indeterminism (otherwise called nondeterminism).

the corner was listening to the streets and answered by finally releasing this monster by fred p. splitting particles is a forward thinking futuristic techno stormer with unrelentless tension as we move through textures of techno this ep further moves to the deepest darkest movements in music to inspired improv-jazz keys ... the corner sees this as a very inspiring record and is proud to be releasing it... note must play loud!
mcde proudly presents the debut works of 22 year old canadian, michael gracioppo. featuring a remix from fred p(mule / underground quality) very limited edition. the labels first 10-inch is headed by my so-called friends the montrealers deeply personal ode to an over-indulgent past lover.
excellent hypnotic house groover !!
new yorks borned and raised fred peterkin needs no introduction to the electronic music, world. having released on labels like underground quality, strength music, mule electronic and his own soul people music, ahd welcomes him after being fans of his music for years already and this ep is no exception to his extreme and unique quality. *reach* on the a side is a total dancefloor burner. one of the best tracks we have heard lately. keeps building from start to the end, having the peaking point when the arpeggio comes up fading in at the middle of the track. b side, *in the blue*, is the deep cut of the record and its a perfect example of freds dubby and warm feeling. check it out
an esteemed selector, producer and panorama bar resident dj, steffi presents the fifth mix cd in the series. reflecting all the angles of her classically inspired, raw and profound sound, we are treated to a rather grand lesson in house music. to accompany the cd release this 12 features 3 new and exclusive tracks selected for the mix, from new yorks fred p (a.k.a black jazz consortium), amsterdams juju & jordash, and detroits big strick. each track contributes its own special element to the equation, helping define the sound of steffis panorama bar dj sets.
