for this spectacular release, we have the pleasure to bring you an amazing four track selection called eden ep by giuseppe cennamo, which also includes a fantastic remix by the romanian artist dubphone. for the a side, we have eden first, a beautiful minimal house blend with a strong hypnotic base that makes the listener float with its soft female vocals and texture pads in the backend. the second track is strong bodies and in it we can fully appreciate a techier approach with a groovy low-end construction, which gets perfectly complemented with several percussive articulations and of course, some delicate synth sounds in the background too. as first track of the b side, we have dubphone s remix of strong bodies that relies on a magnificent low-end with a truly peculiar night club sound that can easily get you into a fantastic trippy vibe alongside the several and complex fx elements that distracts you constantly from the base elements. the second track from this side is visionary, and it presents a more joyful base vibe than the previous tracks with some delicate deep elements that creates a subtle and refined sound that reflects the top-notch quality of the whole release.

on it, the producer showcases a compendium featuring the characteristic sound of the platform, pushing ahead cyclical techno together with tracks that evoke the persistence of remembrance. echoing the preterit sound of sandwell district and renewed sound formulas from almost two decades of uk electronica. ambient brush strokes outline soundscapes surrounded by analogue sounds that share space with more direct and snappy songs. a scape on the frenetic side of electronica with an idm-leaning end closes the equation.

at its core, organn is a record about love and duality. taking inspiration from isidore-lucien ducasse’s poem les chants de maldoror, the record is antagonistic yet often drops its temper to reveal blistered beauty within the chaos. such are the contradictory elements within the compositions themselves: widescreen claustrophobia, glimmering sludge, piercing vhs ambience. visuals come courtesy of french mixed-media artist, thomas hauser. hauser’s imagery similarly evokes retrograde surrealism and further insists on a narrative at work here, with obscured characters playing out alongside mantric piano, filmic vox and hyperspeed jungle.

legendary los hermanos member santiago salazar’s album ‘aspirations for young xol’ is given a vinyl release courtesy of rekids. a heartfelt dedication to his son isaias, ‘aspirations for young xol’ takes us through the life of a pillar in the electronic music community - santiago salazar. from his formative years spent in california to his connection with detroit and the passing of a childhood friend, the long-player’s tracks signpost the musician’s significant experiences, both positive and negative. this meaningful body of work was released digitally on pastel voids and now rekids release the album on wax. ‘saturated fear’ sets a deep tone for the lp, flanging melodies and echoing claps float through the composition before the album’s title track ‘aspirations for young xol’ offers haunting arpeggios with occasional acidic overtones which are cleverly offset by beautifully designed lead synth transitions. ‘bloodlines’ follows a similar musical vein with delayed bass riffs that are suspended above shimmering hihats and a weighted kick. santiago provides three beatless pieces throughout, which digress into more emotional territory whilst offering brief respite from his heavier drum work. ‘xol’s pain’ combines orchestral strings and swelling synthesisers which build tension with a subtly complex, evolving motif. both ‘dark matter’ and ‘ode to stinson’ use arresting atmospheres, warped arpeggios and ethereal pads which lull the listener into a retrospective mood. an intensity builds in the later tracks, a gritty but powerful low end provides a solid foundation in ‘orange blossom thump”, eventually making way for a hectic and elastic lead synth before ‘pachuco dub’ displays drones that build a dissonant pressure in which the complex tom rhythms and rolling hi hats can grow. ‘sarah rivera’ hypnotises with its delectable chord progressions and complimentary melodies which seem to float above a rigid drum composition to close the album with style

remastered edition, contains a printed inner sleeve and 4-page 12inch booklet with liner notes and photos. tip! after a classic artistic journey and an experimental stint with aktuala and other brilliant fellow musicians (like franco battiato, above all), lino capra vaccina, near the end of the 70s, recorded antico adagio. it was an amazing album, anticipating countless future experiments in the field of new age and world music but also in avantgarde and electronic music. apart from a few violin parts and the extraordinary vocal lines (sung by vaccina himself and juri camisasca), antico adagio is an album fully built on percussions. but, at the same time, it s the farthest thing from the typical idea of percussions. you won t find a single trace of african or primitive beats: instead, this is a collection of rather long, subtle and thoughtful compositions, crafted with vibraphones, marimbas and gong. together they create a work which will remain unique both in capra vaccina s discography as well as in a more general sense.

nice price deal !!! following our quest for inventive approaches within the sometimes tired and highly commodified house / tech house / techno / minimal or whatever you call it scene, we ve gone this time for landesvatter. regardless of having already signed a few full lenght lps on the highly esteemed normoton as well as on under_line and others, joachim landesvatter prefers to keep a low-key atittude. he offers us two great tracks, each one followed by a very special remix. the original of nome is a highly bouncy digitech house track for the dancefloor, with an infectious sinewave to keep you hooked from beggining to end. the remix of nome, in charge of arp aubert (marco niemerski aka tensnake & stephan lorenz) who run the great mirau musik, comes on the form of a hysterical dub house track that literally puts >the roof in the air<. we recommended for full effect to keep the volume on the red. as usual, the second half of the release follows at a quieter pace. hausse is a track on a out to lunch tradition, greatly influenced by detroit but at the same time distancing itself from the current plethora of nostalgics. in-house duo taron-trekka closes the package with a deep remix, rich on freaky jazz touches. we lack words to describe it.

after the world applauded sascha funke for his latest album lotos land, he gave away some tunes to friends for remix duties. düsseldorf based tolouse low trax formed twirl into a foggy dark mpc-seducer for romantic nighthawks that love dancing. also australian boy dreems prepared a remix that grooves odd and uncommon. his percussive version of im feiern und feuer is a slow whirlwind, perfect to start and end a great dj night. with tuff city kids a duo formed a remix that is good for big room love affairs. their version of purple hill is a heartfelt melange between trance and house deepness that works on any dance floor. the final edit comes from glasgows junto club, who transformed comola, a tune that they already produced originally with sascha funke, into a longing dark melodic synth stepper. four versions, four hits, four atmospheric dimensions beyond words. tune it loud!

when wph boss red d heard toriton being played by ken ishii during a wph radio takeover on belgiums studio brussel radio station he ran to the booth and knew this track had wph written all over it. not abiding to any trends, just devastatingly beautiful house music. some licence negotiations and months later satoshi fumi agreed and made lalalalaland, a brand new track to go along with toriton and make up this ep the title track has that unmistakable detroit feel that takes you from melancholy to euphoria and back, while lalalalaland has been described by people hearing it in red ds sets this summer as japanese sunset trance or end of the night eyes closed hands in the air stuff. whatever the words, its the music that counts and satoshi fumi takes his place among the wph family in style!

ltd 2017 repress - as well as steering stripped & chewed, garrett david has been holding down a residency at chicago s smart bar for some time. on a roll following an appearance on distant hawaii, the time finds the producer in fine fettle with a classic approach to deep house clearly born out of the city he calls home. -the time- is a shimmying jam powered by crafty dub processing and a steady hand on the arrangement, while -sea shell- is a more passionate affair that swoons through key changes. the night sea journey remix of -the time- is a more brooding affair punctuated by synth accents for a deeper end result.

new york native caiazzo releases the devotion on his and p.leone s e-missions imprint featuring three dusky techno tracks and a remix from white material co-founder young male. much like p.leone, caiazzo s debut release (entitled the dredge ) landed on work them records, spencer parker s label that s featured names such as radio slave, rodhad, dj richard and ryan elliot. launching e-missions earlier this year, the pair continue their high quality output by following up two releases from p.leone with three uncompromising original cuts from caiazzo himself. rolling percussion drives 917 (sportmixxx) whilst intoxicating drones operate throughout, making way for lifeform with its layers of thick synthesised sounds that build on top of a relentless drum composition with subtle but effective transitions. godbody offers a stripped back approach to techno with an intricate percussive composition that allows a deep low-end and a hypnotic perc to take control. finally, white material label boss young male provides his take on godbody where bass hits combine with haunting atmospheres and warped rhythms, closing the release with style.

last year’s on the corner underground smash release, the 12” ep santuri’s embaire umeme, introduced uganda’s mugwisa international xylophone group (m.i.x.g) to the world. the recordings center on the embaire, a giant xylophone native to ugandan folk music, which is dug into a pit for a natural, earthy bass resonance as gargantuous as the instrument itself. the instrument performs a key role in village life, with ceremonial playing sessions lasting for hours on end. these recordings may be esoteric in nature but they add important context to the santuri’s embaire umeme 12” and are a vital documentation of the iganga village’s culture, as well as that of uganda. jones has artfully chopped the epic session into a series of short evocative chapters to create a pioneering masterpiece. remix duties are led by griot house innovators, the diabolcal liberties, who have raved-up some sun ra frequencies for the cosmic junglist crew. last but never least, victoria topping has created beautiful artwork using the session photography taken by jones during the recordings

it does not happen that often any more that unreleased music from 40 years ago surfaces. even more unlikely it is that the songs put on tape are such treasures. the voltags were right at the forefront of the local washington dc new wave/punk scene of the late 1970s. influenced by kraftwerk, gary numan, the clash, and the b-52 s, they have released only one 45rpm single during their existence. but during the time span of not even 18 months, they had recorded enough material for an entire album but the songs remained in the can. this is the story of the voltags, a short-lived band which could have become famous and mentioned in the same breath as the aforementioned music legends of that era if their songs had been released back in the day. dive in and enjoy the sound of the voltags, it is truly special. we here at perfect toy are thrilled to be label to finally release their work and we sincerely hope that they are finally getting the appreciation they so richly deserve

route 8 back to his techno project q3a dropping some heavy grooving tracks! a year after his last release on delsin, the talented hungarian producer is back with four more cuts of techno and electro excellence, club tracks that ooze atmosphere and intriguing details. the nameless place kicks off with a tense and tangled techno track that is urgent and slick as is hurries on through damp underground caverns. the very end of you completely flips the script and is a slow motion bit of dub. with only sparse kick drums, the focus is on the cavernous pads that smear in huge arcs as watery droplets and heavenly chords add to the brain soothing effect. temple of retribution is back to techno, this time with loose, jumbled percussion and clipped drums cantering along at high speed. again it s roomy stuff with no real edge, the deva station drops into house mode, wriggling drums and distant vocal cries finished off with some classic detroit keys. it s a high tech, soulful track that closes out a diverse and devastating ep.
