the label of the post-autonomous kindergarden from berlinÆs east cross awakes after a long beauty sleep. weÆre back behind the decks with a lineup that is carving out contemporary techno. finnish producer samuli kemppi, from helsinki, has accompanied us since the beginning of our club. musically, he stands for a minimalist, crystal-cut sound hailing from galaxies far, far away. fabrizio lapiana is a long-time friend of the house. his sounds are able to expand even the smallest dance floorsùhe sculpts spacious soundscapes and sends dancers on a deep dive into dark and melancholy travels. we are particularly excited about the presence of our resident akmÛ, who comes to us with energetic release after his first ep on connwax. he will be bringing his steadfast love of detail and sly playfulnessùelements present in all his dj-sets. with these three numbers, the ://about blank 002 has compiled the best of the mdf soundtrack. next stop after powernap: lobby and garden. rave on!
the second release of samulis own label continues the analog excursions and direction set on the debut release. all tracks are recorded live performances executed with analog machines only. raw and functional techno without compromises. play it loud.

float records first vinyl release is a fact. and what could be better then divide it in 2 parts. the first output reflects the second. label owners twr72 presents you *reflect*.
the 1st remix comes from berlin based markus suckut. a subtle angle is taken on reflect which makes the remix feel sustainable. just the perfect remix to include in his impeccable oeuvre. all the way from finland is analog devotee samuli kemppi, who takes care of the 2nd remix. samuli creates a sudden tension with builds up until the very end. a001, from amsterdam, turns the original reflect into a obscure remix with an perplexing 2nd half. a001s mysterious and quiet appearance is a paradox compare to his musical output. twr72 closes the ep with the bonus track *response*. a solid and barbarous answer to reflect. no words are further needed.
the third output for the prrukblk series is a special one. the planet rhythm team came up with an all star line up consisting out of rotterdam techno-stalwart bas mooy, la based modularz head honcho developer, berlin resident p.e.a.r.l.and newcomer von grall. developer opens up the a side with a repetitive quest called clench of fist that lingers on and contains minimal yet powerful changes. berlin based p.e.a.r.l. delivers a somewhat harder effort with ordeal iii bas mooy opens up the b-side with the utterly rugged thorfytt newcomer von grall closes down the 12inch with the mystic under a stone
finlands samuli kemppi made a 4 tracks ep that clearly show the continuing outbound quality from children of tomorrow. between detroit and analog raw techno with his modern touch, samuli kemppi proved again his knowledge of making quality techno. and a bonus track vinyl only not to be missed!
close friends woo york return to dynamic reflection with an all new ep two great original tracks, vacuum and oka, accompanied by two outstanding remixes from label residents samuli kemppi and unbalance!
samuli kemppi played live twice at suicide circus, and since his energetic sound really fit well with our club, we started talking to each other about a release on our dark series imprint. so here we go now, after releases on labels such as prologue, mote evolver and perc trax, samuli kemppi now is ready to rock your boat with three tracks on our label, which define a very particular sound of their own. last day on earth brings samulis apocalyptic vision to the dancefloors. dark hisses, well scaped spaces and a hookline with the pull of a spacecraft make up for a track that with no doubt will be one of the techno anthems of the next months. a killer of a track! on the b-side spacing has similar sound aesthetics as last day on earth, but comes along more playful whereas calling approaches the apocalyptic theme from a very different angle. bleepy synths over a banging beat let you think of laser shots in the dark, haunting and scary.
split ep to celebrate clfts fourth release. a collaboration between germanys thomas hessler (graphene, krill music) and samuli kemppi (m_rec, komisch, balans, mote-evolver, chronicle…), each artist providing two original tracks.
samuli kemppi may have begun in warm house climes as the duo sam & gigi, but he has since found his niche and fame sound tracking the deep and icy black recesses of space. 2009s komisch debut, deep space helsinki ep, birthed the galactic signature that would come to define his solo techno output for labels like prologue, mote-evolver and perc trax, meanwhile cementing his stylistic meanderings to a single, albeit flexible, narrative. parallax of one second ep is samuli kemppis third outing on m rec ltd, after the full cyclic model ep and remix inclusion on ben gibsons more than milk, and sees the fin plundering the astronomic theme once again with stellar sci-fi precision.
modern, functional and intelligent techno! liss c. shows a track specially created to blow up the dancefloor. its simple and effective techno. the release is completed by two remixes signed by two artists who do not need any introduction. the finnish samuli kemppi shows the experimental version, while the american truncate shows the raw techno version as he has accustomed us.
with a techno career stretching nearly a decade, finlands samuli kemppi is a natural choice for the fourth edition of themas continuing chronicle series. his intensely rhythmic, futuristic style has been making its mark across europe since 2004, but it was really four years later, when he was picked up by ostgut ton, prologue, and kosmisch, that the world found out the true impact of his sound. since then he has enjoyed his strongest support from the last of these imprints and, even more importantly, from luke slaters powerhouse mote-evolver, a go-to since its inception in 2006 for the freshest sounds techno has to offer. following the summer launch of his own deep space helsinki label, we are proud to announce kemppis chronicle debut with voyager, an ep of deep, science fiction sounds backed by intense beats.
first record for a label that is part of a long project, which began with the radio program the-zone. after numerous releases in the digital label, the project confirms the primary concept: the techno sound. an original version of the well known logotech (darknet, nachtstrom schallplatten, etc) with remixes signed by three major icons of techno: audio injection (truncate, electric deluxe, droid, etc), samuli kemppi (mote evolver, perc trax, m_rec ltd, etc) and the duo space djz (kombination research, soma, fine audio, etc)each word is useless, only techno!
eartoground records 3rd consecutive vinyl only release, once again features as a limited pressing on high quality black wax and is likely to be seen by techno purists as ready to go dj ammunition for a variety of dance floor, as each track & remix carries its own identity.
after launching in fine fashion with luke slater wielding his l.b. dub corp alias against textured cuts from asc, the second instalment of mote-evolvers parallel series presents more forward-thinking sets this time from shifted and samuli kemppi.
new ultralimited vinyl release for etichetta nera with francesco bonora and mirko back to the techno sound of their previous release on en001 featuring two great remixers: samuli kemppi (ostgut ton, mote evolver, perc trax) and himan (connaisseur, galaktika) and a cool downtempo tool vinyl exclusive.

ground loops ampersand (i) is a release exploring contemporary techno by some of technos best contemporaries. the original fuses old school ideals with modern production techniques to create a floor friendly, groove oriented track that manages to maintain a sense of purpose and emotion. on remix duties are lucy (stroboscopic artefacts) who produces a seminal remix taking on the atmospherics of the original and building upon that to create a space and tension we have all come to know and love of his productions. samuli kemppi (ostgut ton, mote-evolver) who delivers a deep slice of dubby detroit influenced funk, perfect for that back room set and once again ignites the sound of that transatlantic relationship. the final remix comes from advanced human (aka. dj hi-shock), who instead focuses on the energy and emotion of the original and twists it into peak time material. already spun and fully supported by luke slater, james ruskin, donor/truss, damon wild, tommy four seven, audio injection, markus suckut, chris finke, go hiyama or raiz to name a few.
once again another masterpiece from the dynamic reflection squad! this time its from the young guns dynamo with amazing remixes from the heavyweights peter van hoesen and samuli kemppi. dynamo is a collaboration between paul boex and marco rane.all n all a superior release by these young guns and remix heavyweights. lets pray for more of this pure quality stuff and keep our eyes on the the future. the scene need more labels like this which reflects the current techno movement and promises loads more of that sweet stuff in days to come. dynamic reflection will represent only the true spirit of pure techno, they will put only the quality stuff back on the dancefloor!
support from: surgeon, ben sims, luke slater, deetron, len faki, efdemin, technasia, mike dehnert, cio d or, ryan elliot, arne weinberg, vince watson, dan curtin, marcel hesse, franco cangelli, philip sherburne, perc, forward strategy group, matt o brien, the parallel. with a string of eps on prologue, mote evolver and komisch , samulis hypnotic tracks are seducing dance floors and djs alike. >kosmos< is samulis biggest track to date, with blasts of dry ice percussion and thumping, heavy beats underpinning a solemn voice intoning the tracks title. eerie sounds take >kosmos< to the outer limits, but kemppi keeps it rooted on the floor with a resonating bassline. >massa< meanwhile, is a raw warehouse number, its gained bassline and crashing cymbals playing host to an evil acid line that threatens to spiral out of control. peter van hoesen dissects and reconstructs >massa< using an intricate, stop-start arrangement and lithe, stop-start rhythms dipping and building until a heavy kick drops four minutes in. meanwhile >suunta< sees samuli back where he started, a heavy sub-bass and skipping percussion married with eerie vocals and atmospheric sound scapes. from his mind to ours. this is samuli kemppi at his best.
luke slaters mote-evolver label is enjoying an impressive run of form. having chalked up one of the standout cuts of the autumn in the shape of cari lekebuschs >spindizzy< and dropped two floor-shaking futuristic techno megabombs from ortin cam (>carnage< & >felt<) either side of the new year there can be little doubt that the long-standing label is as relevant now as it ever has been.
one of the key players in finlands techno scene, samuli kemppi has a reputation for making forward-thinking, boundary blurring electronic music. coming up to his tenth year as a producer, his knack for blending the best of the past with cutting edge sounds has seen samuli appear on labels as diverse as ovum, siesta, komisch and prologue, providing all the credentials necessary to understand why samulis style has consistently drawn attention from all corners.
peter van hoesen returns with his time 2 express label after being on tour during the summer season. and in the meantime he got a great selection together with remixes and new tracks by the t2x artists. peter himself is getting a dirty make-over job executed by norman nodge and pendle coven. with exciting results as one might expect from these guys! sendai and samuli kemppi delivering some powerful abstract basement techno tracks. t2x with another essential techno release!
big with: norman nodge, surgeon, dave clarke, peter van hoesen, mike parker, ben klock, marcel fengler, laurent garnier, hell, vince watson, ben sims, cassy, slam, dan curtin, ...
with releases on labels like ostgut, time 2 express and prologue, the finnish producer is one of the leading lights in the new wave of european techno. samuli gets straight down to business on orbiter. based on chugging, insistent drums, the listener is led to a place where repetitive droning sounds, pitched up percussion and robotic bleeps dominate. if ever there was a soundtrack lose your mind to in a dark room, then >orbiter< is it. >metal space< is more considered, but its no less effective. berlin producer mike dehnert rounds off the ep with an excellent, deeply textured take on >metal space<.
mind-blowing pure and crafty techno killer tunes from well known samuli kemppi. he released on ostgut ton, pakkas-levyt, frozen north, and now on prologue! his beats in >droning< step in like the usual ones, but all of a sudden it turns into something new making your feet stomping behaviorally. circling and clanking sound chasing from left to right and up and down, right into your hypothesis - to activate the whole body. no change with the b-ones. perfect electronic music hand-picked from prologue! trust us and cover your heads! no one can hear your echo ...
after his successful release on pakkas levyt, samuli brings us another highly slamming techno ep. forget trance, never mind house, this is techno in it s most funky form . marko laine remix is more straight forward, with an old school attitude
samuli kemppi is a well known dj and producer around the gloube, not just for his sam & gigi - house tam (ovum), but also from a.m specialist and so on.. with the second pakka-release, samuli brings us minimal, little bit daniel bell like techno with the finnish attitude..
gynoid releases #004, 012 & 015 by ground loop and truncate all bundled up for one special price! featuring remixes from lucy, samuli kemppi, advanced human, dj hyperactive, jonas kopp, black hats, giorgio gigli and fanon flowers.
deep space helsinki is back with the label s third installment of finnish techno. signal three ep features 3 tracks, one track from juho kusti and samuli kemppi each plus a collaboration between the two as deep space helsinki. enjoy!
