every week end im going to concrete to listen the artists who are playing there. i m talking about music with them , and do the same with people sharing the dancefloor with me.i collect all these inputs and ideas, all this energy, to define what concrete music dna is.because of this variety of people, tastes, and point of views, the label can t be reduced to one and only genre.to make the music more easy to apprehend, we are spliting the label in 3 parts, 3 differents moods, or more precisely, 3 times of the day... concrete music 7am contains the kind of music you could easily listen in our club at dawn, when the light is blue and the sun starts to filter through the mi-closed shutters. minimalistic, freaky or mellow, but always deep. concrete 3pm is definetly turned to house music. 3pm is the time when smiles are on every face, when the same vibe, the same energy, is going through every stomach in the room, and the crowd becomes one same entity. concrete music 4am aims for the more techno and black side of the music we love. at 4am, fists are pumping the air, or heads are down and eyes closed. slow or quick bpm, heavy kick or atmospheric this is what concrete music is all about...-
a lush 90s vibe haunts this first offering by new parisian talent voiron, but not one of simple nostalgia - one of real class. the glittering layers, futuristic architecture and spaceship motions of opener -radôme- bear the true density of some early warp and reflex classic productions. one doesnt need to go any further to feel that the sleek skyline and mental landscapes voiron draws here might be the natural extension of those started by aphex twins selected ambient works or even 808 states hacienda dance cuts.
while the first part was all about house music in a more classical way, concrete resident sweely is showing another side of his skills in “les chroniques de monsieur montana part ii”, going in a more minimalistic and after-hour oriented vibe, but always with the funk, the sense of melody, and the deepness that made the succces of the previous release.
concrete welcomes his lastest resident sweely, his ecceclistism pushed concrete music to split the tracks on two seperate sublabels : 3pm for the house cuts and 7am for the more minimalistic/electro tracks : the first part of “les chroniques de monsieur montana” is made of 3 house music bangers, produced by our resident some time ago. raw house vibe, obssessing vocal, “take me to my house” is a strong dancefloor hitter. while “house is home”, with is beautiful piano chords improvized by sweely himself, is an irresistible soulful but modern deep house track.
but, hang on, “les chroniques de monsieur montana part ii” is coming too very soon!
with movement of thought, the french duo kas:st gives us a new look on what techno should feel like. with incredible sound waves and deep melodic vibrations, this release truly is an emotional journey from beginning to end. through its techno sounds, the ep shows that music is the result of the movement of thoughts. claudio prc, one of the best techno producers around, offers his own interpretation of the b-side track, « hidden memory ».
birth of frequency offered us 3 original tracks, just perfect to be played at the moment when the sky is changing from black to blue, when people on the dancefloor are stopping to fist pump, preferring to close their eyes and keeping their heads down while travelling through the hynotic vibes. in turn, luigi tozzi s remix is all about that moment when the sun is spreading its brightness all over the dancefloor, giving a new energy to all the last dancers. watch out! this ep will take over your feet and your mind
this new concrete music ep contains 3 seuil s original tracks. a1 and a2 are directly extracted from his live performance at weather festival 2015, while the b side has been produced in a slightly different vibe some months later
we dont know so many things about h330... except he seems to be from paris and kept sending us dope music since 2 years...the only thing we know is that the artist behind this name got strong skills, a big knowledge of house music, and a lot of soul... here are the 2 original tracks ( and an edit of one of them) that we decided to release on concrete music. definitely not the last ones..
le loup prowls a lot by night with his bougs, in château d eau area or in some other parisian african districts. the 2 original tracks seek to express the moods of those meanderings in the sweaty clubs and dark bars, where the players and pimps order champagne magnum bottles and dance collé serré against the walls with some hot chicks. forget the eiffel tower and the champs elysées: this is the real underground side of paris. dewalta was just back from an us tour when he started to work on the champagne magnum remix. but one remix was definitely not enough compared to all the inspiration he had absorbed during his travel. he finally offered us 2 champagne magnum remixes: one filled in with the soul of lake michigan, and the other chilled by the cold wind of illinois. 4 tracks for dance, sweat and feed your soul.

concrete music is once again supporting an emerging techno talent of the parisian scene. the record label behind the pioneering boat parties of the same name is welcoming prolific french producer ben vedren for the 7th reference of its high-end catalogue. equally dabbling into ableton teaching or sound art installations (for renowned institutions in paris and rome, among others), ben is also building up a definite career in production that first took off with an ep on minibar and a remix of carl craigs classic bug in the bassbin. immersed in contemporary classical music, techno and various house subgenres, he claims a diversity thats been showcased in all its subsequent interventions on labels such as eklo or balance...
guerrilla soul is amir alexanders deeper alter ego. his first official release under that moniker is a tribute to elizabeth short, the black dahlia. she was a victim of los angeless most notorious unsolved murder back in the late 40s. deep, dark, moody, and emotive vibrations evoke a feeling of wistful melancholy. amir comes with 2 different perspectives of the same theme one on each side of the record. rhythmically moving with lush pads and a minimalistic, yet succinct bass line. deep and super deep are the flavours du jour
since jasper & maarten played at one of the first ever-concrete partys called twsted ii, they knew this parisian movement was something rare and unique. as an ode they made these tracks keeping in mind these magic early sunday morning hours. the result is two melodic and atmospheric influenced tracks. their brother in crime makam is responsible for the remix. machine soul techno music are the keywords of this paris-amsterdam affair.
antigone is an artists coming from the depth paris producing and digging for several years now. the three tracks are a travel in to different style of techno with the intention to reach a certain emotion that is close from nostalgia and really deep feeling. the challenge of this work was to find a good balance between sound and colour, focusing on an old sci-‐,,,fi landscape. with a really mature perception this young artist is developing his own sound, a detroit atmospheres, openly characterize this ep, but it remains antigone work at the end with all his sense of details and perception.
paris club kings, concrete, unleash a series of textures, representing their diverse and hugely popular events.
textures i is a collection of tracks produced by foreign and french artists. all have played at concrete and they all try here to transcribe in their respective styles, the atmosphere of these sundays on the bank of port de la rapee. in this third part we emphasis deep & minimal house music which is a huge component of the party.
