delsins reissue arm once again looks to the revered back catalogue of lost trax for a second 12 that picks out the best of the anonymous collectives work. the ep features five cuts taken from two highly sought after eps released on tabernacle records in 2011 and 2012. the eye opens things up with punchy drum programming and the sort of sci-fi effects and synths that immediately take you to a future intergalactic world. its a weighty but emotional opener, while pulp is more twisted and urgent, with warped synth sounds and busy, bristling drums and perc all building pressure throughout. the forest resets the mood with mystic synths and mysterious atmospheres that mix ambient beauty with suggestive skeletal beats. b01 then canes through the cosmos on a detroit electro tip with slithers of synth, swollen pads and crisp hits and dominion rounds things out in hurried fashion. the restless electro drums pound away as prickly snares and cymbals, blurts of machine noise and sweeping pads all wrestle for attention and keep you on your toes. this is high octane electro and techno designed with metallic precision but oozing plenty of human feelings.

with his solo project jesus is my son, gregory duby, a guitarist from the belgian black country, explores since 2005 another side of his expanded tastes in music. after years in noise-rock bands (the invisible frog, k-branding) both bands being under influence of metal and industrial music, jesus is my son is clearly on the classical guitar side of things. except you can never forget and always feel the intensity of duby s heavier practice in the soft and peaceful innocence , sometimes in its almost threatening tension, sometimes in its profoundly melancholic relief. on the b-side, insouciance has an oriental feel to it, a lighter face: recklessness after a crash or smiling distraction before a tempest.
keeno18, also known as reginald james johnson, is finally back with his third release entitled los green for ultramajic. the release was inspired by the communication plants have with everything around us, as reggie explains. in reality, the tracks are very raw techno beats, snapping celery sticks and drumming carrots.

leonardo returns with another 4 track ep on his etheric imprint. the voyage ep shows a diverse selection of tracks ranging from peak time to downtempo. the offering delivers energy through solid punchy drums and simple but intense percussion with the main synth bringing a head turning edge. symmetry has a late night feeling to it fusing primitive and hardcore elements over a broken beat structure to create a unique elevating gem. spooky deep tech track the afterlife is dubby work out with haunting vocal samples and trippy synth hooks while droplets completes the ep off in a downtempo vibe incorporating the same edgy raw feeling of many of his previous productions.
the next modern hypnosis sees the first official vinyl release from another channel. the young german producer jonas schachners (another channel) has been at the fore front of the new wave of dub techno that has been lurking in the underground over the last few years. his dubbed out analog sound has left some accrediting his productions as picking up where rhythm & sound left off. his debut 12 gives us two very unique tracks. the a side lord 35 is an energetic synth driven tune which sitting at 135bpm, in a two-step style is made for the dance. the b side corruption sees an international connection with the original composition created in germany by another channel, then the overdubbing of vocals supplied by ethiopian vocalist enushu taye (the black jesus experience) in her native amharic, recorded and mixed by mystik in his melbourne studio. the warm analog stabs and punchy bassline accompanied with enushu tayes haunting vocals makes for a beautiful piece of music.

glasgow based producer, galaxian, is set to drop the 11th release of helena hauff s return to disorder imprint. paradise engineering is an ambitiously psychedelic piece of machine mastery that will be right at home on hauffs label, with which she set out to bring punk rock and techno together in 2015. the label s name refers to the reactionary post-ww1 art movement, return to order, which called for a rejection of the avant-garde in favor of conservatism and classicism. return to disorder has embraced experimentation and genre bending with releases from the likes of children of leir, morah and umwelt. galaxian s proximity to the sharp edge of quantum chaos and belief in the anarchism of nature make him a fitting addition to the hamburg based label.

back in august 2017, jerome derradji received a call by one of chicagos most renowned record dealer. it went like this: hey jerome, ive got all these reel to reel tapes of chicago house stuff. you want to take a look? less than 24 hours later, more than 160 reels were purchased and safely hauled back to the still music office and jerome got to work. in fact, these reels - that were lost for more than 20 years - contain some incredible stuff that well be releasing in the years to come but right now its time to jack!
brother and sister eric and arrontette mcclinton had been recording for many years. around 1976 they did a 45 release together on honey records called -where you are- under the their christian names, although eric was spelled eryke! the single didnt have much success but both brother and sister still went on to be amazing backing singers working for legendary producers mike theodore and dennis coffey. whilst they were under the watchful eye of the production team they recorded some material again and a duo for theo/coff in a bid to get them another record deal and show their capabilities. these songs never got releases. eric became and prolific song writer and also joined the group high fashion. we are super pleased to finally release the shelved songs from 1978. this in one of two releases by the duo.
repress - black vinyl - more vinyl remixes from psychemagik with the long awaited official > dancehall days< remix sanctioned by jack hues from wang chung himself. jack liked psychemagiks re-edit of dance hall days so much he contacted the duo and offered them the parts for an official remix. the result is a monster dancefloor friendly beast that is true to the original edit but with some extra magik!... psychemagik stand out from the crowd with high production values and innate musicality. i usually find remixes tedious, but this takes you on some off-world journey very cool. jack hues (wang chung)
the latest joint on uzuri comes from mark hand, a secret weapon of the uk house underground who has been active for a long time and now seems to be finally getting the props he deserves. his mood on -all caught up- reflects the infectious positivity of his live sets at freerotation, all mellifluous rhodes keys and classic deep house signifiers that seep into your soul. -cobwebs- is just as smooth, although it takes on a more deep-diving tone laden with transcendental chord progressions and a dash of motor city melancholy. that makes patrice scott the perfect choice to remix the track, and he takes a measured approach to simmering the component parts down for a version garnished with gorgeous piano and synth tones.
emotional especial returns in 2018 after a supremely quiet 2017 as batteries were recharged and life happened. in mind is the introduction of new duo, weird weather and their debut ep, bamboo room. slotting perfectly in the label family with 4 cuts covering dark basement club music through to calmer, balmier moments.

ive spent many days wondering why unfortunate things happen. wondering why things didnt work out, why i deserved a broken heart, or why the world is the way it is. every song on my album points to an underlying gift in the painful experiences ive endured. without the hardships, id lack the lessons ive gained that have cultivated who i am today. i hope pendulum opens a window that allows my listeners to see how the dark and light aspects of life form a marriage that serves as a catalyst that initiates tremendous growth. - aisha badru

12 Inch 05.06.18
john talabot and axel boman teamed up in 2017 for their r&s debut the night land where they got to flex their creative muscles over eight tracks of rich synth jams. the two electronic artists have been independently successful in their respective careers, but as pitchfork expressed in their glowing review their collective output doesnt sound much like eithers work, it doesnt even necessarily reflect the thin, convex sliver where their interests overlap. instead, theyve hit upon something new. this new sound also proved to be a hit with the likes of mojo, phonica, xlr8r, self titled and dj mag all including it their annual best of lists. the artists have now handpicked four artists to create their own vision of the talaboman sound. superpitcher, samo dj and luke slater under his l.b. dub corp alias have all seriously delivered the goods.
radio slaves colossal the revenge track now gets expert remix treatment from klasse wrecks label head luca lozano. luca has also released on the likes of optimo, sex tags ufo and unknown to the unknown and brings a raw, acid tinged sound to his beats. as a performer lozanos versatile dj sets span between raw house, cosmic disco and dynamic breakbeat selections, which is why hes become a regular at key clubs across europe and tasteful festivals like houghton. his how bow dis remix is solid and features wild old school flavours in its huge drum breaks, a monstrous bassline and dark filtered vocals. it bangs for seven superbly heavy minutes with plenty of twists and turns along the way, and will transform any club or warehouse into a writhing, sweaty mass in seconds. on the flip, his how bow dah version is based around elastic drums and rumbling bass while a loose synth line darts about up top. some distant synths bring a sense of serenity to the madness and so despite the physical impact of this one, it also has real emotion to it.
