dutch psych-rock artiste jacco gardner, and production partner in crime, the percussive culprit behind many a twisted tropical beat, nic mauskovic, have teamed up for a devilish ep of cinematic, balearic disco for their debut ep as bruxas. wielding a love for the wild and exotic, más profundo is a record influenced by the black arts, the sun, and the love of making nostalgic, summertime music.

following last year’s much-acclaimed solo album “mondo alterado” (hippie dance 08), original pachanga boy and hippie dance mentor rebolledo returns to the limelight with the jam-packed mondo re-alterado (hippie dance 10), tapping into his vast and varied network of friends and fellow soundsmiths. artists such as superpitcher, dj tennis, maceo plex, red axes, fango or fantastic twins deliver stunning takes on rebolledos’ unique signature sound, creating a full suite of exclusive remixes, cover versions and reinterpretations.
from the super-energetic club rumblings of maceo plex’s discotico plexico to dj tennis’ dreamy pimiento drive version of a numb gas to the future or fantastic twins’ party bomb fantastic pow pow, the journey through mondo re-alterado is full of twists and turns – a world where an epic, cinematic soundscape such as superpicher’s rainboy super space sits comfortably alongside the claustrophobic, punishing banger that fango sculpted from stand-out cut “pow pow”.
meanwhile, red axes turn the casual narrative of “life is strange, life is hard, life is great” into a bouncing workout – a great companion piece to want, danny daze and shokh’s propulsive, jagged dub version of “fears come true”. other highlights include jörg burger aka the black frame with the lush black rainbow woman, paulor’s country rock extravaganza discotico desertico and not one, but two excellent contributions from former italians do it better honcho mike simonetti. it’s a magical, surprising ride that finds beauty in contrasts – while staying tuned to rebolledo’s spirit of adventure and powerful sense of style.

a brand new instalment in the trans afryka series, that is loosely inspired by the sounds of the black continent and devoted to club-oriented afro-house. riding the waves of success with sold out volume 1, zambon employed three talented producers to bring more goods to the table. transatlantyk regulars like dj dook and universo are joined by a newcomer tamten and together deliver a bomb of an ep! aptly titled afro acid by dj dook is exactly what it says on the sleeve - raw dj tool with squelchy samples, mantra-like vocal loop and focused vibe. think of an soundtrack to a futuristic version of apocalypse now. just the perfect peaktime beats to heat the party a little bit more. praise song by universo is built on a wandering bassline reminiscent of malian blues with tribal chants, penny whistles and various sorts of percussions on top. this beautiful groove rolls and rolls without end, like an endless summer. ukukhnaya by tamten is the most atmospheric out of the three, fusing new age midi sounds with the vibes of south african deep house.

first ep by vaskular (the creator of black jesus) on comeme will appeal to lovers of south african beats and hip hop four jacking tracks of heavy dancefloor elegance probably one of the best bassdrums you will hear in 2017 100% comeme dancefloor approved. fun facts: yula kasp, who has recently released her own music on kill the dj is not unknown to cómeme insiders - she did the videos to comeme classics guerrero, el sucu tucu, levantate diegors, do you wanna work and more, and did backing vocals on philipp gorbachevs hero of tomorrow ep! m. aguayo played drums for her on some of her tunes, too

lf rmx arrives as new non-profit platform which will share only edits originally made by len faki for playing in his dj sets. what began as small technical tweaks has since grown into passionate work, the edits eventually becoming an important staple to the special feel and flow of the figure head’s well-renowned approach to djing. the series’ first release features the rework of dj bone’s 2016 slammer ‘black patterns’, whose heavily rolling nature the hardspace mix builds upon. keeping the oldschool drums’ weighty feel, len faki gives his a edit a more compact shell and punchy edge. the centerpiece piano stabs also reign over this version, albeit rising in a glimming, glistening fashion, making it a definite choice for this summer. the hardspace tool on the other side steers clear of piano and vocal, rather developing a lively sequence of unmistakenly len faki-styled, vigorous percussive permutations. as this project is very much a matter of the heart, and as much about honoring the orignal artists’ work as it is about sharing the edits with a wider audience, there will be no monetary gain involved. instead all the proceeds will be donated fully to straßenkinder e.v., a berlin organization fighting against child poverty

we present the core of chaos ep by rezystor for the first twb vinyl release. two banging original tracks by rezystor for the dancefloor which are the perfect combination to create a dark atmosphere. binny (monnom black/clft) takes over for the first remix and presents a raw, rave-influenced interpretation of inner core. the second remix of inner core comes from rendered (aufnahme+wiedergabe/body theory) who converted the original into a bass heavy, pounding basement version.

mondo is proud present the premiere vinyl release of the soundtrack to the haunting, original playstation title “silent hill”. don’t let the tone of the plucky mandolin driven opening track fool you, this is one of the most haunting soundtracks we’ve ever released. full of hair-raising, pulse-pounding, industrial cues - this soundtrack is the stuff of nightmares - which is important, since “silent hill” (and its subsequent sequels) has it’s feet planted firmly in the legacy of survival horror gaming.
black double vinyl in gatefold sleeve.
we’re glad to welcome back aun to cyclic law for their latest opus! aun’s music as always suggested forays into other dimensions, be it to imaginary worlds, industrial wastelands, through space and time, or via mind altered states. from the ominous dystopian artwork, of a city being drained of its energy by some mysterious black hole, to the first notes of the title track “fiat lux” we are once again transported on aun’s otherworldly travelling path. ever since the space industrial and power electronics of aun’s previous cyclic law cult release “black pyramid”, the world has become even more sinister, but in contrast, “fiat lux” exudes even more of aun’s melancholic hopefulness. the disintegrating chords and densely textured waves, anchored by a left field industrial pulse, invoke occult drug enhanced, future psychedelia. created in part in their montreal studio, these tracks were extensively performed live, prior to recording, and refined while on tour breaks in montpellier, barcelona and tokyo. the energy of these cities is definitely at work in these recordings, which also features a french connection of experimental heavy hitters: witxes, frédéric d. oberland and philippe petit have helped round out dumais and leblanc’ arsenal. fiat lux: let there be light, from light will come darkness.
molecules of the legion once again teams up with showbiz of d.i.t.c. for his debut ep “a bronx tale”. while showbiz handles production, molecules administers vocals along with appearances from dres (black sheep) and the legion. both cules and show deliver beats and rhymes as only bronx natives could. they carry on the tradition of dropping gritty neck snapping tracks that was birthed some 40 something years ago in their home town. the legion and d.i.t.c. have given us classics over the last few decades and this latest offering is sure to satisfy the craving of those looking for the real.
the motionless present is a collection of unreleased poems and soundscapes by the philadelphia-based artist and activist camae ayewa, who performs as moor mother. reverberating and rumbling through the thoracic cavity, few records spoke to the contemporary black american experience quite like moor mother’s 2016 protest album fetish bones. her first new material since that visceral and political work, the motionless present is a statement towards understanding the disconnect between humanity and injustice. the release features various new collaborations and previews of upcoming projects: black quantum futurism, moor jewelry, mental jewelry, 700 bliss and more. the motionless present was created in collaboration with the vinyl factory ahead of moor mother’s ctm festival performance at berghain. artwork designed by bcmh using the collage artwork of grassi.
non worldwide co-founder chino amobi makes his vinyl debut with the soundtrack to choreographer ligia lewis’ minor matter, a performance piece that deftly articulates an argument for minoritarian politics. most of the material is newly commissioned but one of the tracks, ‘locus of control’, is lifted from amobi’s provocative airport music for queer black and brown folk album, in which he follows brian eno in inducing the atmosphere of an airport terminal. but through the eyes of a black man and with 2016 realism, it’s a different story, where eno invites lullaby, chino unshackles nightmare
glyn -bigga- bush began his production career with rockers hi fi in the early 90s, co-writing several studio albums, a host of remixes and the infamous dj kicks - the black album. in 2000 he went solo as both biggabush and lightning head, making albums for sonar kollektiv and stereo deluxe as well as many more remixes. his sound reflects his love of dub reggae, analogue synthesisers and intricate rhythms, with influences of samba, afrobeat, the deep dubscapes of rhythm & sound and most recently the more interesting end of 140bpm bass music. this ep is his first vinyl release since the late 00s and takes in a number of bass-heavy rumblers with classic biggabush twists and turns, starting with the steppas delight of mangrove monkey, relentless subs and skanks of sounds & blues, post-dubstep breaks on dash way com and finishing with a minimal 4/4 fx soundscape on footsie index.
astropolis records 8th release will submerge you in the very heart of an authentic rave. biting, sullen, sharp techno produced by two cornerstones of the brest-ish label: electric rescue (möd3rn, skryptöm) and the driver (aka manu le malin), which nowadays form a distinguished duo: w.lv.s.
following their previous 2014 the wolves ep on astropolis records and most recently a release alongside joefarr on raar, the two french rave militants are back on 3 tracks with this new ep.
mannella brings a rousing 12’’ ep, enclosing a sunil sharpe’s remix done with the forthright purpose of make you go ape. the original mix of “nibiru road” is a ever-changing techno story, told by a steady groove and such a badass kick-drum. a vitalizing ebb & flow of that rubbery synth and that melodic, a bit saturnine pad, that let you fly to the next planet. “fourth dimension” has been recorded from one of the live performance that mannella is doing under dahraxt alias. the hypnotic bubbly atmosphere created around that chopped pad, delivers this track to another dimension of delight, giving it a unexpected slant. sunil sharpe doesn’t need introduction, since his multiple releases on imprints such “trensmat”, “labrynth”, “mord”, “mindcut”, “inner surface”, “works the long night” , “black sun records” or his own “on the hoof” to name a few, have made him the well appreciated artist that today he’s. with this rework he confirms how much enthralling his charisma is. jts004 “it can only be attributable to human error.” cit.
bristol beat physicist second storey joins the fold of electro dystopians trust, and telekinesis via fax picks right up where recent releases for houndstooth and his r&s collaboration with appleblim, also, left off. attack of the modlings has deceptively lush pads launch into an industrial grime furor that relentlessly underscores second storey s ambition to sonically innovate. vienna s /dl/ms/, coming right off their recent trust debut, reassemble the bits into a subtly layered electro funk banger, before second storey steps back onto the plate with the eternally spiralling -quantock point to point- and -telekinesis via fax-, the latter evoking memories of robert gordon s afro-futurist black knight project with hyperkinetic snares and free-wheeling synth licks.
the legendary skatalites, alongside the later studio one in-house bands - the soul vendors, sound dimension, soul defenders and brentford road all stars – were as much a part of the classic studio one sound as were the singers that they accompanied such as alton ellis, horace andy, marcia griffiths and bob marley and the wailers.

what does teen spirit smell like, anyway? it might smell something like noise addict. like the real life stars of some sort of choose-your-own-adventure book about pursuing rock stardom, few bands ever led a more charmed existence, springing from the sydney suburb of bondi into seemingly overnight international fame as friends and collaborators of sonic youth, fugazi, and the beastie boys. through a combination of relentless drive, luck, and an admirable lack of self-doubt, noise addict spanned puberty to surpass the haters and join radio birdman and nick cave as a strange but permanent piece of australian punk history.
compiled here are 25 tracks, including their evan dando-worshipping satire “i wish i was him,” the thurston moore produced demo, choice cuts from their grand royal-issued ep and lp, and covers of “let’s lynch the landlord” and “back in your life.” the entire sordid adolescent tale is covered in incredible detail inside the black and white 16 page zine. and finally, for the first time in the history of record pressing, and for no good reason at all, the cover for 10.000 kids with guitars doubles as a working chalkboard.
limited to 2000 copies on black vinyl.
parisian von grall contributes a new records four track counting ep to the planet rhythm black series.
“tracking happiness” is a lush piece of esoteric techno that spans over six minutes and showcases von grall’ s artful approach to contemporary eletronics.
“case history” is a percussion laden cut that delicately changes further on with slabs of fx while maintaining it’ s mystic atmosphere. “state of being violin” is a state of the art piece of techno music completed by deep percussion and moments of wild fx. “self portraits” serves as the closing track.
this cut showcases taints of experimental electronics and dystopian techno.

back to back 70s roots shots from joe morgan, his first and second ever tunes. while many know joe from his wackie s anthem basement session, joe was already producing himself in the mid 70s on his own afro black label in jamaica before coming to nyc. both of these tunes are stone cold classics long hunted by roots collectors, and the rhythms used should be familiar to astute listeners from other brilliant cuts. joe continued to record and produce himself and other artists on his own main imprint fish tea, and other labels label thru the 80s. the two tunes issued on this fish tea 12inch both originally appeared as afro black label 45 s in jamaica, and the b-side also on a pet shop label 45 in nyc
