noamm is the electronic equivalent of a honed switchblade. with surgical precision the bass agenda alumnus incises keys, cuts chords, pierces percussion and razors through rhythms. it is this slicing sound that the greek artist brings to his debut 12 for shipwrec. seven tracks of machined melodies and frigid fire make up psychoanalysis. the ep is brimming with calculated fury and clinical rage. from the coursing cruelty of ruhestimmung and the menacing dance macabre to the future world coldness of das schwarze korps, noamm is direct and straight to the point with his hard hitting style and no-nonsense approach. few respites are to be found on this 12, into the abyss of changing subconsious being the only refuge from the arctic winds and audio blasts that scour this record. frosted ferocity from start to finish from this exciting musician.
emile facey (plant43) has been at the forefront of electronic for more than twelve years. during that time the british producer has released on a host of seminal labels, expanding his style and sound in new directions. although plant43 is typically classified as a purveyor of electro, behind those driving rhythms and steely percussion a tenderness has always been present, an emotion expressed in lilting melodies and complex harmonies. it is these melodies and harmonies that come into focus on plant43s debut ambient album. on from deep streams is a rich and textured tapestry of synth work, a soundtrack that organically unfurls from nightime woodland walks and city stargazing to mindful solitude. the eight tracks offer the listener a calming journey into stillness, an excursion through gentle audio currents and a moment to pause and take in an inspiring vista of sound. recorded over the space of 3 months, this album gives the quiet, the subtle and the sometimes underappreciated centre stage whilst casting light on yet another side of emile faceys ever-evolving musi
salvador breed and stijn van beek met while studying sound design and music technology in 2006. ever since then the pair have been beavering away behind an arsenal of blinking banks in amsterdam. the musical fruit of their friendship is breek, a partnership that smears the boundaries of styles and sounds with festive flare and a rainbow steaked uniqueness. for their vinyl debut yokai, a candy coloured cornucopia of elements are swirled and whirled. braindance, electronica and neo-classical are festooned with dubby tones and underground grit in a unique sound of diverse textures and deep tones. faster works, like the swooping joy of yokai, are countered by more contemplative ama. hang is a whimsical dreamscape of squirming acid lines, crisp drums and angular notes that combine to produce a brilliantly bright piece. mu-onna and oiwa are more abstract works that melt vocals with sweet strings before the final piano swells and ambient rains of burabura. a daring and dynamic vinyl debut from this eccentric duo with stunning artwork from warren du preez and nick thornton jones.
memory disks. volume one. chevron. the blackpool born sorcerer is conjuring up spellbinding tracks that boil and bubble between supernatural rave, occult acid and inverted techno. dripping from speakers, a concoction of swirling chords simmer as a spiced shower of razor edged rhythms are poured into the pot. shadowy notes ghost like phantoms behind crunching beats, beastly bars growl as keys slide and slither between nine short, medium and long excursions into the glow-stick festooned musical mind of jonathan valentine. nestled amongst the bewitching synthesizer psychedelia, peering from behind the purple forests and white dwarf frogs, are less frenetic works, a soft balance to the frenzied chicanery and chrome plated magic. simply put, a weird and wonderful ep where the only stable point, the only spot of secured safety, is the needle on the record.
two miscreants of uk electronics have been drafted in by shipwrec for a 12- of techno debauchery. richard bevan and joshu doherty, aka posthuman, have been addicted to acid from their first contact with the caustic and cruel chords of the tb303. since then the two cousins have gone on to curate 10 years of i love acid as well as doling out some toxic classics of their own. the duo deliver the soured goods once again, starting the audio anarchy with the ominously titled -netflix and kill-. drum patterns are gnarled and nasty in this slow burning jacker where basslines boil over into a thick syrup of late night revelry. the flip is taken over by the bullying sounds of -the damocles syndicate.- the track rumbles with venomous menace. coils of 303 spite bulge and contract under the strict resolve of a stern beat in this ready made floor filler. two helpings from two malevolent masters of the silver box.
primus motor sees ekman return to many of the sounds that gained him a reputation as an artist on labels like bunker and berceuse heroique. although harsh bucking acid lines, pockmarked notes, brutal beats and eerie echo are all present, a new tone has been added to the caustic palette. a psychological nuance, an undercurrent of the inchoate has been investigated and exploited to chilling effect. crippling psychoses. debilitating neuroses. physical pain. suffering stalks this first full vinyl album. sinister sounds encircle the eight offerings, hovering like vultures over inhospitable plains of ashen grey, jagged peaks and dark sweeping swamps. hope is all but drawn away in this bleached audio landscape, drained by sheer synthlines and reduced renderings. amidst the sorrow and strain there are pin pricks of joy, albeit bleak and pallid ones. an album that unnerves as it engages, a collection of icy radiance and industrial indifference from a dutch master.
scientists. white lab coats. the whirr of computers. sc-164 was a sonic experiment. greg schappert, an electronic musician known as donor, was the willing subject. its purpose? to melt man and computer in audio form, machine music created by an artificial being. but soon it became too powerful, self aware. the creators tried to pull the plug. they were too late. now this assailant floats from machine to machine, communicating its message through serrated snares and bruising bass. sc-164 was cast aside by its makers. now the project has one objective, to corrupt circuitboards and speakers with an infectious strain of corrosive electro.
1997. drexciya dont have no phone. theyre too busy to do your remix. mad mikes response was short and to the point, enough to put off some, but not vincent koreman. addicted from an early age, the dutch producer dug deeper and deeper into the mythology and mystery of james stinson and gerald donald. the sounds, images and ideas conjured up by the detroit electro duo pulled koreman in, his fascination growing ever more intense as the underwater dwellers sonically prospered. fast forward twenty years and that fascination has not diluted one drop, in fact the aquatic dream of the wavejumpers is the inspiration for recolonization. these tracks would have never had existed, says koreman, if it wasnt for stinson and donald creating that great, energetic, abstract electronic music and coupled it with an original vision on the african diaspora, art and culture. this music is an homage to th e enigma of drexciya, a tribute to the machine marine men who pioneered electro and a vision. drvg cvltvre continues that vision, one of an underwater race that has reconquered earth, overcoming big business, corporate greed and water pollution to reclaim the surface from man. forget mankind. our time is over, recolonization is here.
scotland s premier electro alchemist is back on shipwrec and this time flying solo with five shards of sharpened machine music. beats rain down in solid sheets, a hail of drum patterns pelt and pound. acid scorn, speeding snares and scorched sound roar and rumble in the menacing -days of rage.- the 12- hisses and howls, sending forth a searing line of percussion as gears crank and grown. -glasgow to detroit- is just as fiery, scorn and sparks leaping off burning bars. aggression is always at the surface, and behind the razor rhythms lurks a palpable paranoia, as in -daisy cutter- or -uprising.- the only respite comes with the complex and textured -stones and sticks.- harsh mechanics from an industrial heartland.
fedbymachines has been active for almost a decade now, lurking in the undercurrents of netlabels and digital releases. now shipwrec shine the vinyl light of this shapeshifting musician, an artist who has ably turned his hand to a dizzying spread of styles. this skill is amply shown on his first wax release, relapse ep, where a glut of genres are fed into the machine. ambient. electronica. techno. electro. all are combined to create a textured sound, one of delicate strings, ghostly clicks and static. ochre closes the quintet with a remix, one that amplifies the organic nature of this absorbing encounter.
"for almost two decades dave paton has been dredging the recesses of his mind for electronic inspiration. the findings have been fantastical, freakish and formidable; all ways of describing his latest outing. -the great pretender- straddles electro and techno, staggers between ambient and idm and swaggers to its own bawdy beat. rasping rhythm patterns are rinsed in ragged roars, charcoal chords are conjured before being crunched as the wee djs has his fun across five tracks."
shipwrec are opening a new style chapter with coco bryce. dub, jungle, skwee and breakbeat come together to form the signature sound of the myor label boss. from laid back caribbean rhythms to sweat dripping bedlam, coco bryce comes with melting pot bubbling over with influences and styles. mesak and fff have been drafted in on remix duties, each adding their own flavour to this heady brew. a 12- brimming with exotic spices and sounds from an artist who dares with his musical ingredients.
2015 saw datassette in generous form, the original offal brought 100 tracks of alleged offcuts. while a rare few actually live up to this self-deprecation, it couldnt be a more misleading title. now, selected offal has been boiled down to a gravy-like substance for a vinyl release by the nice folks at shipwrec. after discussions with the artist, and suggestions from fans, seventeen prime cuts have been selected for the vinyl edition of offal, alongside a few brand new previously unheard nuggets and alternative versions. expect a buffet of delights. smooth electronica, abrasive funk, out-there acid experimentation, chip tune chicanery and everything in between from this chameleon of machine music.
following his acclaimed north bend album of 2015, chris roman, known as 214, is back on shipwrec with the third in their series of single sided odysseys. a haze of bass descends for -i see what you did there-, a clipped drizzle of percussion falls before thick acid bars tremble into position. echoes, reverb and decay merge, groan and bend as the preconceptions of ambient, electro and techno are pulled apart. in one breath dense and complex, the next grooving and future funk dipped. an epic example of 214 s talent. single sided 12- with a silkscreen printed b side. limited to 250 copies on transparant vinyl.
shipwrec proudly present one of the pioneers of dutch electronics. for some twenty years vincent koreman has been honing his sound, releasing on a plethora of labels such as bunker, kk, viewlexx, mighty robot recordings and his own angelmaker records
new years deal - with former descent, bas welling (neurobit) is taking his music into a new direction. more than the breakcore, noise and digital hardcore he got know for the last couple of years, you can expect some dancefloor friendly electro experiences, weird dubstep like broken beats, phat acidic basslines and some beautiful ambient to end with. this ep is not for the faint-hearted and shows, once again, that anything could happen on the shipwrec label. highly limited to 200 copies!
shipwrec is delighted to welcome an electro pioneer into the fold. larry mccormick has been at the coal face of machine music for two decades, carving razor sharp cuts under his exzakt alias whilst spearheading future funk on his exemplary monotone records. intelectro exemplifies twenty years of experience, twenty years of music production and twenty years of talent. banger does exactly what it says, a crunching work that breaks with millisecond-perfect precision before deeper layers are unfurled. vibes feels like three compositions combined. from its spacious intro the track dives into acid chords before resurfacing in refined warmth. vintage grooves open rocker with some extra muscle added through heavy kicks as samples circle to an ever tighter noose. styles shift and strafe across the quartet leaving the lines of set expectations to blur and ultimately disappear. ride low is the final proof of this, understated percussion leading to sky soaring sytnhlines and free flowing harmonies. a 12 that melds disparate sounds with frightening ease, an artist bridging electro past, present and future.
quadratschulz delivers his debut album -ww303-. ten tracks make up this vision, a vision of lazers, pulsing neon and gleaming chrome. arcade game memories. curls of acid. electrofunk vocals. synth wave chic. and even some past greats. all are lovingly folded together in this rich and diverse collection. styles are juxtaposed. 303 bars throb and strings soar in the lilting -der rasende roland- whereas -robotic dancer- struts to a future-world funk. quadratschulz sculpts his sound with a wonderfully warm and autumnal quality, as in the cascading synth showers of ferrofluid. yet there are colder moments, the frigid flows of kran sprouting into the chilly house tones of piloten. a tribute to the groundbreaking lfo is also included. bleep festooned chicanery is the offering as ring the bell takes you back to the infamous warehouse parties of 90s britain. and if that weren t enough, the 2lp also comes with downloads for some cracking remixes by dmx krew, andreas gehm, kettel, chris moss acid and posthuman to name but a few. a wide angle view of quadratschulz s unique sound.
aquamarine puzzle marks a new step in the sound of luxus varta. six paths are etched for this journey into time, space and the machine. a spectrum of sound is allowed to roam, to wander into strange worlds of galvanised synthlines, serrating snares and soulful strings. the 12- is perfectly balanced, astral melodies countered by crisp and precise rhythms, distant harmonies tethered to absorbing bass. a renewed partnership with machinist in arms paris the black fu of detroit grand pubahs is formed for the mechanical dreamscape that is -globb.- a complex and utterly compelling encounter with the luxus varta nebula.
nice price deal !!! kaleidoscope is the first ep by the very talented and young producer individualsim from amsterdam nl. winning the grote prijs van nederland in 2010 is a great start and shows something special is going on. pure and gentle electronic music combining styles like house, ambient, jazz, dub and pop without ever being predictable. this first vinyl release features four tracks that show a great amount of creativity and the vision it takes to transform certain feelings into music. limited to 200 copies, pressed on crystal clear vinyl.
it seemed like neo ouija, a norfolk based idm imprint, had closed up shop. four years of silence suggested that founder lee norris, aka metamatics, had decided to call it a day. but looks can be deceiving. 2016 saw the boss release a cd album of fluid acid, squelching electro and heartfelt electronics. shipwrec are now bringing four choice cuts from bodypop to the vinyl faithful. proudly sitting on the difficult to define shelf, norris seamlessly shifts from frigid winter moods to warming autumnal sunshine. old-school sounds are rewired, softened by delicate keys and steady beats. machine music morphs into organic matter. acid coils, echoed bleeps and clicks grow and blossom into vivid audio vistas with metamatics, once again, proving his musical mastery
following his acclaimed scars of intransigence album of 2014, emile facey (plant43) is back on terra shipwrec. on skeletal rhythm supports strings and bass intertwine, link and disappear. facey performs audio alchemy, transforming cold chords into organic warmth, transfiguring electrical impulses into palpable emotion. frigid currents flow through bright bars, ephemeral percussion snap at heels of soaring keys as plant 43 draws you deeper and deeper into the bare and beautiful brilliance of grid connection.
RING THE BELL (POSTHUMAN GEZ VARLEY AND FAH REMIXES)
12" Vinyl NL12.01.17
bleep. easily one of the most influential sounds to grow out of the burgeoning electronics scene of the late 80s. nowadays, easily one of the most overlooked genres. but not around njimgen. shipwrec are turning some deserved attention to those pioneering plinks and plonks for a 12- homage to the trailblazers of the sound, lfo. quadratschultz provides the material, the german artist serving a warehouse brewed, acid spiked, tribute to mark bell and gez varley. posthuman ruffle the edges that bit more with a bleary eyed 303 monster before countryman fah gives basslines a steroid injection for a thick and meaty mix. varley closes with a tribute to his former group. his lfo remix might be a solo endeavour but it has all the raw unrefined dancefloor energy that characterised the music of a certain pair of young lads from leeds cerca 1990. bleep bliss.
UNALASKA ICE FILES (INCL THE EXALTICS TESLASONIC REMIXES)
12" Vinyl NL29.09.16
composite profuse, aka valerio lombardozzi aka heinrich dressel, breaks radio silence after seven years in the shadows. cold winds curl and otherworldly atmospheres abound for unalaska ice files. arctic tundra and ice are the inspiration, frozen vistas dappled with warming light, subtle shifts and sinister shades. teslasonic take on the title track, injecting electrical pulses and an underhanded edge. shipwrec stalwart, rob witsch aka the exaltics, gives his own icicle encrusted interpretation, one of stark percussion and expansive horizons. a welcome return to composite profuse. first run on coloured vinyl!
"illektrolab has been missing in action for seven years. an electro machine, this satamile alumni went rogue; ducking under the radar in 2007. now found he s ready to return to the front line. four weapons make up illahertz. clipped beats break and reform, basslines bubble and bulge as computer funk is lanced by pared steel. drums race in eerie future wastelands, fizzing static and samples circling before acid rains down. future and past influences sharpened into dangerous electro blades by a prodigal son."
firm favourite dmx krew returns to shipwrec for his third release. a spiral of styles come together for mini-owner. funk. electro. synth. all are twirled, whirled in a shimmering sound. cold chords meet warm fronts, meandering grooves and playful interlock to produce a sound that is totally unique. energy levels are high throughout, sun soaked synthlines dappled by glowing rhythm patterns as ed dmx delivers six tracks of grin-inducing electronics. first run pressed on 200 coloured copies.
six tracks make up jauzas the shining s latest vinyl offering. brutal basslines stand, arms folded, in front of snapping snares, distorted notes bucking under immense mechanic pulses. to help drop the temperatures, to push the punishment, dynarec and raw jay have been drafted in to add their own eclipsed emotions to the mix. dark skies, brimming with rain and heavy metals hover across this record, pin pricks of light piercing the charcoal heaven before diving back into the ink-stained sonic psyche of jauzas.
it s fair to say that boris bunnik has made an impact in his short career. in less than a decade this dutch man, under monikers like conforce and versalife, has scaled electro and techno with subtle ambient touches and idm echoes. and that s exactly what he s doing for the singularity ep. lush pads and flowing bars punctuated by crisp percussion, -shine eye- sets the scene. -autobots- adopts those same brittle beats, this time using them to send dreaming strings skyward. northern winds swirl around the colder chords of -milnet-, chords that dawn into absorbing swirls of -transgenics.- masterful machine music.
shipwrec rolls out its new remix series with a serious slab of electro red meat. the main course is served by a machine music master, umwelt. and what else would the serving be but the rawest of electro, coarsened by surging acid and slicing snares. accompanying the original are a triumvirate of talent. ekman is first, ratcheting up those sticky 303 lines whilst adding his own mischief and menace for a mind-bending mix. comes in a printed sleeve with artwork by mehdi rouchiche. limited to 200 coloured copies.
from the depths of the dark net come telkhin, the latest addition to the shipwrec roster. following earth being recycled on detroit underground, the argentine project are debuting on vinyl with five tracks of off-world electronics. the chilling atmospherics of -body container- meet the needle before an electro iciness takes hold. spiking snares and echoed radiowaves orbit the moody walk in, that same frosted futurism central to level above human. telkhin melts man and machine, giving the computer age a humanoid form. processors whirr in the bassy bleeps and residues of brithomber before the final statement. leaving the human world behind flight 19 is a fast and future funk driven piece of 2050 music. forget the past, embrace the next step. limited run of 150 coloured copies.
lost trax embody the idea of underground techno. the shadowy group, members unknown, began their music careers over 20 years ago. output may be low, but quality is high, the style being no compromise techno brilliance. and thats whats on show here. kick drums and squirming acid bars are at the core of faith, a track where soaring strings shift and reshape. the chiselled claps and barbed bass of flatliner follows, taking its cue from the heyday of detroit. a watery world of analogue abstraction greets the listener on the flip, lost being an atmospheric journey into to the squelching swamps of the tb303. sniping beats introduce the lush tones of renderer. blurring the lines of electro and techno the track is an elegant end to an ep of deep and dense layers.
an atlantic crossover brings together detroits stingray313 and glasgows galaxian for a very special 12. more collaboration than split, the ep sees each artist fly solo as well as combining their admirable analogue abilities. pressures are high from the outset, galaxian twists and teases patterns in the reverbing reverence of storm coming. bpms surge as the two merge for the cold nu-1000. lilting notes ghost between rasping rhythms. and it is around such racing drums that warmth flows, as in the meandering softness of graphene. beats dont abate as stingray takes the helm for the blistering bass of dopant
the girl and the chameleon will probably fall under the genre tags of acid, electro and techno but it is so much more. witschkowski has been responsible for exemplary electronics throughout his career and this latest is undeniably some of his best. the album sees the exaltics don a dust mask. warehouse parties, strobe lights and fog machines and the 90s underground acid scene are definite influences. but theres more. across thirteen tracks and two slabs of wax the jena artist takes you on a journey into his world. gnarled and clinical grooves, caustic 303 encounters, depraved dancefloor destroyers and soothing machine music. a sonic trek through tough and taut textures with touches of tenderness. an album that shows a depth of ability, an enviable talent and a knowledge of how to break floorboards.
shipwrec is turning back the clock and paying deserved respect to a giant in dutch acid. active in the 90s, random xs delivered high octane, 303 drenched, techno on the trailblazing djax-up-beats like few others could.
2015 looks to be delta funktionen s year. following the terrifically dark and deep wasteland series comes -a new planet-. a cold electro beat is the bedrock from which a corrupting and corrosive 303 coil grows. but even with this caustic foundation, moments of salvation are to be found. a second techno moon dawns midway, frostier percussion giving way to warmer rhythms. full and flowing bars fall and rise behind the squawk, allowing a new and brighter element to bloom. a track that is at once atmospheric and club centric from an artist at the top of his game. this will be released as a limited single sided 12- vinyl with a silkscreen print on the b side.
killler techno/electro hybrids by longtime electronic uk warrior williams, bringing five deep yet merciless pieces of mutant electrofunk and under-the-radar hypno techno. exceptional dj tool and again a very strong ep on the mighty shipwrec label. first run on coloured vinyl. fuel for the fire!

hot release by neil landstrumm & mat consume, who did a first shit & cheap release on scandinavia in 2001, and 2012 seems a good year to tear it down with a totally unexpected raw & raving electro banger for the dutch shipwrec label. inspired by 60s surf & garage and later punk & wave, the drum machines are set to give us the essential kicks, claps and hihats we need for that oldschool electro vibe. the trashmens surfin bird gets a remake dipped in acid and with shadowlands pre-dubstep skills take control, but nevertheless, all tracks have those wobly basslines typical to landstrummís music combined with unique vocals that make this release something special and definitely standing out! this release comes in a sick designed three colour silkscreen printed sleeve, limited to 300 copies including a download code to redeam the digital tracks from the label
