finest minimalistic groove & kick monsters! only for djs. the colombian duo jose m. & tacoman have recorded on top labels like material, area remote and sphera records and have written three tracks for trapez ltd now. >what are you watching< is a tricky traxter with a cool swing programming to keep you happy on your feet and moving. this is very much a beat track but has an outstanding groove that makes it so special. raw and streetwise it makes sure things are always going fine. one of these tracks that are loose and tight at the same time. a perfect alliance.>warehouse< seems at first less funky but convinces with an hypnotic aspect and a congenial feeling to it. >kick this< is similar to >what are you watching< a strong groover with sounds in the background and a catchy vocal line. all three tracks are cool and perfect for groove addicts.
nice price deal !!! played by richie hawtin, luciano, loco dice, karotte, butch, sneak, someone else, martinez, konrad black, turntablerocker, jennifer cardini, dj hell, lauhaus, paco osuna, nic fanciulli, livio & roby, dubfire, danny tenglia, shinedoe, chris liebing, len faki, brother’s vibe, gavin herlihy, toni rios
the grand master form greece throws in all the goodies he has collected in his toolbox, spiced up with slashing white noise, and modulation sounds and nice echoing spaces … mihalis safras has created once again a splendid techno ep.
played by: sian, adam beyer, martin eyerer, dave seaman/ steve parry, steve lawler, taster peter, orde meikle/ slam, max cooper, dubfire, michel de hey, mark reeve, ekkohaus, toni d, intu:itiv, arjun vagale, dj 3000, grunbox, zidan, tom wax ...
mihalis safras turns slightly towards hi-energy as it was executed in perfection by genius bobby orlando. sure mihalis keeps his new trapez ltd track >alba< techno but uses these catchy appegiator sounds that give it a rush of adrenaline, what we are so grateful for. a big track from the greek adonis.
we are happy to have a follow up of m.in on trapez ltd in collaboration with his fellow mate jonas fahz. the duo has released together already under their pseudonym of mucky pups on the trapez ltd 100 anniversary compilation in may. their a-side welcome to my house features again a jack track, produced and written this time by a whole team including: m.in, jonas fahz, peter eilmers and featuring nick maurer on vocals. bringing together old school and new school this was also the idea with m.in s debut a-side track teach me house . welcome to my house instead has more of a live jammed attitude to it... in this respect it is meaner, rougher and tougher as the predecessor! the alienated and twisted voice of nick maurer adds a psychedelic feeling that keeps you making funny faces to yourself . delgardo has been a long time favourite of m.in and jonas, it is an approved dance floor track, and indeed a slow moving... but funky rocker. fuelled by vocal snippets and fx sounds... the beat goes non stop beat non stop ! elephant blues is the favourite track of m.in and a bit of a mad and deadpan track. fitting very well to the actual chart breaking tunes that spread like a virus in the underground scene, this could be the most modern of the three tracks. equipped with a strong drive, whipping its percussion line into oblivion it is a sexy track. the original 3 tracks are Êsupported by alex piccini with a cool post detroit remix of welcome to my house and well as heartik who has speeded up elephant blues turning it into a cool techno- rush of a track.
played by: martin eyerer, stephan bodzin, timo maas, fra soler, orde meikle/ slam, hot chip/ felix, dj madskillz, paco osuna, steve lawler, ronan portela, lee pattison (deepgroove), patrick pulsinger, axel bartsch, beatamines, f.sonik, jules de pearl, taster peter, kiko, marcus sur, toni d, freska, zidan, scott byrne, danny tenaglia ...
remerc is no new face to the scene. he has been active for quite some time in the german techno scene and has recently remixed butchs track >muskatnuss< on the trapez ltd 100 anniversary compilation. he had his breakthrough in 2010 with the track >tiny calf< which ended up on the cocoon compilation >party animals< mixed by marco carola and nick curly. remerc opens his release with >ruhewolf<, a restless funkedelic rocker with a beat that juggles elements in a loose and totally cool way. the track is spiced up with elements of surreal bliss and could go on forever were there not the limitations of the vinyl. on the flipside we find an hanne & lore remix that tightens and fattens up the beat and pimps up the basslines. adding some twisted sounds ... making it a clubber par excellence. >just a bards tale< is a unique remerc track and stands out from all the productions he has done so far. here new wave coloured edgy vocals meet a post-detroit string-chord arrangement. sounds adventurous and daring? well it is to some degree... but recall >no more words< by carl craig from 1991 but executed in a dead modern way.
with this new release from amir on trapez ltd, it is clear that amir has turned towards house music even more than with his last releases. he has set the focus here on a stronger mix down with less small snippets but rather bold and fat jacking sounds
mihalis safras is back with another big time release on trapez ltd, produced with german artist pascal mollin. they have announced to go stronger on to the techno side with this release, but we certainly see the roots in post detroit and chicago house.
m.in alias markus ferdinand has been busy releasing on various labels and he is still a unpredictable person. his release on desolat >sing and blow at the same time< as well as his release on robsoul have established him as a funky player in the field of minimal, who freshened up the genre with light hearted emotional tracks. trapez ltd has been in contact with him since the early days, so we are happy to welcome his debut 3 track on trapez ltd.
the greek icon mihalis safras returns from his summer break with a powerful 4 track ep!
,,,,,for all the die hard fans of mihalis >berliner< makes a strong move towards the deep and driving side of what we would call >detroit influenced< music.
with vernissage one on trapez ltd amir kicks off a beat which could have been written by herbert. as amir says himself his beats are ongoing a constant change, nothing stays the same. >cadaques< indeed highlights a spiritual quality that is expressed by ethno sounds, constantly shifting dynamics and a feeling for deepness
the italoboyz released their portucais ep with us a year ago and now we are exited to release two new tracks by them and a digital bonus remix from trapez ltd artist blind minded.
,,,the italoboyz are free spirits. they always invested a lot of effort, like to use real sounds and instruments played by musicians and go for the matureness and raw side of the authentic sound.
we welcome back mark henning. mark released a 12inch >pokerbot< at an early stage of trapez ltd already. he recorded his new ep together with japanese artist den aka tokuto denda.
,, the 4 track ep features the tracks >la galaxia llorona< and >close encounters of the deep kind< plus two remixes, one by ed davenport and another one by sebastian russell. this ep is a hell of a techno ep, the revenge of detroit techno
there is certainly always a place for hugo, the man who has been heavily in demand for some time now. he has done great with his remix of mihalis safras original >there is no place<. his mix is a great house tune that invites us to celebrate the party and it is a cool track to feel well and happy with. the vocal sample is filtered in a nice way and has a cool hookline.
this scottish producer puts trapez ltd again on the techno map. after a couple of more housy releases on trapez ltd this release is a tougher one.
,,circular star works techno a bit in a post detroit fashion... the sounds smells of industrial sites, burned rubber and has that certain sexy machine rhythm to it which we always felt was the jeff mills factor. they have little glamour about them, they are true and a direct force.
blind minded lives in london and is famous for his live appearances and has his third release with trapez ltd with >mr propre<. his first two release on trapez ltd was supported heavily and where charted by the italoboyz so weare looking forward to his follow up. >mr. propre< is the return of what used to be of the detroit sound blended with modern spontaneous changes in mood and crossovers which will put a smile on your face. >mr. propre< is the most technoid of all three tracks, whereas >jazz 2 me< is a bassline monster, with vocalquotes about jazz music stating it as >a state of life<, >something that you live!<. altogether a sexy cool groover! >the melting freak< is the most deep of all three tracks. here you can hear blind minded playing his analogue instruments (also a real 808 drum machine) being funky and cool rather than going for cheap thrills.
supported by miss kittin, chloé, dubfire, tobi neumann, phonique, reboot, kiki, piemont, bukaddor & fishbeck, gregor tresher kaiserdisco, markus kavka, deepchild, igor tchkotoua (pig and dan), tom wax, mihalis safras, dan curtin, orde meikle, blind minded, patrick pulsinger, gurtz!! famous for his skills of cutting up whole disney cartoons and converting them into a sparkling groovy beat, also >reshef< has that unbelievable funkiness combined with a freak out madness that has helped butch to rock the biggest dance floors around. introducing his famous rain drops and flutes butch has acquired a toolbox of sounds that he delicately layers and enhances. building up a subtle tension and keeping it low key all through the track, his breakdowns are always what one is looking for. on the flipside of the record we find an überfunky remix by his close friend amir.
deep a & biri have been involved in the tel aviv house scene for some time. with this 3 track ep plus digital bonus track they give their debut now.
>twisted tango< is the most stripped down of all three tracks and a real cool groover. one of these tracks that grow enormously with volume and space. these two guys have got a good vision of how dance music should be to clad the clubbers in cotton batting. their cool way of transmitting indifference has always been the carrier of sensuality and sexiness in entertainment and it does create a certain kind of peppermint stench here. the vocals stabs in this one work like dubby elements which deep a & biri drop like things dropping out of your pocket.
>mischievous< is a perfect bassline monster... deep and heavy with a genius >pam pam< vocal stab. we dont know where these samples come from but they are luscious as hell. welcome to the pleasure dome!
>hine gama< is as cool as the two other tracks but but a little more laissez-faire fair. we dont think that anybody will be able to resist this bright light brown colour it shows with all its reflections of intensive sunbeams shining in.
this release fits perfectly to the last release on trapez ltd.
two cool housy minimal slammers: this is 100% club music. we can see the tracks being played heavily by a lot of djs. relaxed but at the same time moving very rhythmically, both tracks have a modern way of getting the party going
marcus sur lives 30 minutes from cologne in essen and has recorded for several labels in the past like pottheads with whom he reached no 1 in the dcc charts with his >stop the junk< release. his latest tracks were released on highgrade and keno records. marcus sur played bass in a band but stopped in the 90ies to get involved in djing which lead to famous residencies in clubs such as >rote liebe< and >baikonur< where he was also responsible for the musical programme. with his release >down with the ship< on trapez ltd he shows his love for minimal music. his definition of minimal though has more in common with robert hood than with recent developments due to the fact that his love for rare groove and deep house music has been part of his life. his 2 track vinyl is authentic and cool and speaks the language of the coal mining district in germany, the ruhrpott. house music has always been big there and lead to the founding of one of the first house distributers in germany, ntt . marcus sur is momentarily resident at the gold club in essen where he will celebrate his release on the trapez label night (26th of september)
big with: richie hawtin, dubfire, dj hell, mandy, dj t, james what, ralph lawson... well what can we say, two tracks that could not be more different from well know mainz/ germany based artist butch aka bülent gürler. the a side >destruction< is a track that so perfectly fits into the scene of german minimal house, we think it will be eaten up immediately by the dj scene. the flipside track >muskatnuss< is more challenging and made for the advanced djs. this track is weird, funky, housey and more on the side of the new school of house we get nowadays from cecille and similar labels. the track makes use of samples from butchs most sought after sample libaries that include fantastic cartoon sounds he has cut up and arranged rhythmically. a stunning performance!
giorgio s mixture of house, disco and techno sees its result in these 3 tracks which are fuelled with a lot of euphoria and don t hesitate to make brave/courageous changes when crossing over from one genre to the other
blast !! next mihalis safras biggie on trapez...mihalis as main artist of trapez he joins this time with gummish and they deliver 2 tracks that being digged by tons o major league players ! played by shlomi aber, john digweed, adam beyer, simon baker, piemont, oliver ho, funk d void
>just a must buy< ... loved and charted by almost everyone !!! next mihalis safras biggie on trapez! after his top notch >interafrica ep< mihalis is going from strength to strength and presents us a record that will be loved and played for many years now....
played by: richie hawtin, dj hell, dubfire, monika kruse, onur Özer, gabriel ananda, karotte, italoboyz, dominik eulberg, gregor tresher , chris liebing, d. ramirez, sebastian leger etc... the follow up to >elements 1of 2< starts with >wind<, a strong epic old school monster of an acid track, with a cool chicago flavour, reminiscent of lil louis, with cool ups and downs, that have set the dance floors on fire around the world. >earth< the flipside track is a stripped down mover, quite drugged out and shivering in itself, having a much stronger new school touch to it. it is as bass heavy as we have experienced with all of the releases of butch
huge support from all key players as trapez ltd welcomes the nonstop mihalis safras for a jack late hour record! zwischen jack-maschine & minimaler after hour bewegt sich der versierte grieche auf seinem ersten release für trapez ltd dem noch einige folgen sollen
following the big success of their debut release >metro gold< berlin based resident dj of bar 25 red robin and format b member jakob hilden have come up with a very hitty and unorthodox big production as a follow up. the two club tracks of the upcoming >tales ep< are straightforward and reduced to the essentials. made out of pure power. >lazy jack< the a-side is another monster of a track. it holds the dark berlin side of techno, with its droning noises and delays. it reminds us a bit of chicago techno house at its best, but this is just one facetted of the track. it gets its other enthusiastic crazy over the top and emotional side from the whistle melody which sets in half way through the track. this leading sequenced is such a catchy tune that its sure to be heard in all mayor berlin clubs and eventually all around the globe. the b-side track >tin soldier< is a marching techno tune, with a cool slight swing programming in the rhythm and drugged out chords. creating a ghost town atmosphere, transforming the club into another >futureworld<
