dropping on rekids this may, butch remixes good luck - basement jaxxs ubiquitous 2004 single featuring lisa kekaula. appearing on kish kash, basement jaxxs third studio album, the unforgettable single was nominated for a grammy in the best dance recordings category and also reached number 12 on the uk singles chart and number 2 on hot dance club play in the us. good luck also featured as the opening theme of 2004 anime movie appleseed, victoria’s secret fashion show in 2003 and 2005, and a version without lyrics was used for the opening sequence of bbc’s uefa euro 2004. real name bü,,lent gü,,rler, german producer butch has been a formidable force within house and techno for over two decades, enchanting crowds from all across the globe with his technical performances. highly regarded for producing compelling grooves, his releases have appeared on labels like desolat, cocoon, rekids and sei es drum, not to mention collaborating alongside virginia, c. vogt and ricardo villalobos (as butric). receiving regular early support from villalobos, butch has provided three different renditions of good luck and the remix is a rhythmic roller from the off, featuring numerous elements from the original whilst generating a cacophony of percussion as kekaula’s iconic voice is chopped and looped – the result is highoctane and geared for the dancefloor. the dub strips things back, purely using segments of the vocal for instrumental purposes as a whirring bassline joins deep synths and mesmerising effects. tying it all together, the drum tool is a high-tempo percussive cut produced for peaktime dj sets

cybordelics was founded in 1993 in stuttgart, germany. in the same year, mike s., milan zemanec and daniel varga aka cybordelics released their hit adventures of dama on sven väth’s label harthouse. the record climbed up the uk dance charts to the 2nd place. people from london to germany, especially in the legendary omen club in frankfurt, danced to their techno anthems until the late afternoon. today’s artists like ricardo villalobos, sven väth, gregor tresher, chris liebing, gerd janson or anthony rother were at the omen club when this record was played for the first time, and they still consider adventures of dama a milestone in techno history. 23 years later, the new harthouse label begins 2016 with a remix ep, featuring remixes by ricardo villalobos, butch, tuff city kids, starting a new era of the harthouse story.

vinyl only ... butch s newest offering retechno 2 is a bass heavy, dark, two track techno delight...... the kick drums are intense, the samples interesting and the synths are apparent too butch’s quirky style of production which can be heard throughout the ep.... first up is magnetic, which has a futurist edge with its spaceship sounds and deep grooves... on the b side antimatter is packed with energy, a driving bass line and fierce drops. butch’s productions are raw, powerful and robust a release not for the faint hearted.

the now well established contemporary house outlet that is avotre turns to label boss sante for its next ep. featuring two brand new cuts, it comes with three firing remixes from huge names in the form of dj hell, butch and emanuel satie.
up first, juice machine is a barreling cut with pinging drums that ride up and down in infectious style. carefully treated vocals echo up top and add a dub flavour as subtle rave horns and old school motifs also colour the groove. when remixed by re.you, the track becomes a more subdued, deeper cut with spraying synths and a sense of late night paranoia in the grooves. lastly, badass acid is a minimal cut with warm pads, hiccuping sine waves and a growing sense of synthetic tension. it s a masterful bit of slow burning craftsmanship that has icy hi hats to die for.
fresh and exclusive from butchs watergate mix is a massive cut with his partner in crime, hohberg titled the spirit. add a remix from the swiss duo adriatique and a tune from butch flying solo and you have songs about unconsciousness.

visionquests latest offering comes courtesy of the industrious butch. evoking ancient gods of the ancient times is the theme for butchs latest release, and its not hard to see why once youve had a listen to this one, which oozes with mysterious and mythical charm.
whilst most of us would associate the productions of butch with his effortlessly flowing, melodic and uplifting style, perfect music for the summer floors and terraces.... of late, the turkish born producer has been channeling back into his tougher and dare we say it, more butch techno sounds. having bathed us in the gorgeous tones of previous hits such as >papillon< and >eyes wide open<, butchs latest work for quartz music sees him expanding further on his recent chemically inspired cecille release >lsd 25<, by serving up a large helping of acid on, >303<. sinister and deadly, the creeping corrosive cut is perfect soundtrack for those dark strobe lit moments. >soul leaves body< sees on the polar opposite side of our trip as the blissed out beats of the tabla and strains of the sitar sweep us away an ethereal bed of sound.
finally we are proudly presenting our new cécille numbers artwork with a massive 5 track ep from butch. the ep starts with the track revolution a great club tune with a great uplifter melody. on aa the track panorama has a perfect summer open air groove. the excessive b side starts with diss you which is an guarantee for a great crowd reaction. with quite storm on bb you getting a kickless epic track with acid touch. all together butch did it again like every year on cécille with a massive super strong release...and this is not the end, the story continues
after years of seeming decline, its refreshing to see the cultural melting pot that is new york firmly back on the global electronic music scene but with the city’s crime rates dropping and a more liberal attitude to partying abounding once more, an invigorated crew of djs and producers are now cropping up with increasing regularity. one such individual is italian-cum-new yorker antonio piacquadio. the ep is nonetheless sure to draw attention as a result of its remixes: both of which arrive courtesy from big-hitters from the techno/house hybrid.the first of these - from cecille mainstay butch – is typical of the sankeys resident, as he jettisons practically all else in favour of a catchy bassline and a smattering of luscious piano keys. in another coup for the label, radio slave then adds his own touch, performing a typical manoeuvre by taking no prisoners via his remix - a stirring concoction of subtle, ominous bells and sporadic, tight grooves.
ultramarine have history. as far as track records go, theirs is as close to perfection as you can get … but you can go knock yourself out on google for that - we are not here to talk about yesterday. today, ian cooper and paul hammond give us acid and butch - two timeless trax with an eye on tomorrow …
butchs first release on villalobos imprint ... going back to the future. rawhides frequencies are out of control ... gray: tension bomb. i love you: piano house at its best. comes on proper double 12 inch - 1 track per side for maximum pressure!

sphera pushes forward with a whole ep from mr. butch (cecille, bouq, great stuff) and a massive remix pack featuring anton pieete (100% pure, intacto), broombeck (opossum, my best friend, frequenza) and the residents siwell (mistakes music, hotfingers), danny serrano and emanuele inglese hq house music !!!
an essential part of the german techno scene for more than fifteen years now, johannes heil is now in better shape than ever. with his eighth studio album >loving<, heil draws both a modern and traditional balance of his life from and for the music, and thus sets one of the undisputed musical highlights this year.
to open eyes, not ears to hear what there is to see -- just one of the many paradoxes mainz-based butch manages to merge with verve. to capture the duality of his sounds that oscillate between under and over, techno and house, spirituality and marketability, club and home stereo, to celebrate the everyday high and question it at the same time, is just one of the many talents and specialties of this particular dj and producer whose light shines from the orient and whose future lies in yonderland. this and much more is the starting point for a terrific second long player, released by proud and excited bülent gürler himself on his very own, newly founded imprint bouq. leaving the flattering protection of his mayor label behind to spread his creative wings and fly around the world as free as a bird, the multi-facetted, mainz-based producer, more selfconfident and independent than ever, is presenting himself in the best party light
ltd repress on black vinyl! with a huge edit from daniel stefanik of the butch summer hit no worries and johnny d. power to the people remix with live vocals by himself from his last hit love or leave me.
